  • Can't Stop Won't Stop!!! *Airhorn Noises*

I do feel that BHVR at this point might be better off stopping and letting the game rest for a while (if for any other reason, every time they introduce something new, five things seem to break and ten things seem to become really wobbly...). Maybe work on DBD2 and use all the knowledge and experience you've gained over these five years to build a much stronger foundation instead of building on top of a sand dune and becoming shocked when your kitchen collapses into a sinkhole.

While you can always introduce new killers relatively easy since you can have them have different powers and stuff to do, it feels like they're running out of ways to introduce new survivors. So many perks are basically perks we already have, just slightly different (though Blast Mine is pretty unique so that's one new perk out of the six that I feel like isn't just a slight tweak of a different perk already in existence). Since every survivor is the exact same, just a different skin, there's only so many things you can do with them. Killer perks are running into the same issue but at least with killers, the killer itself is an individual who can be unique or do something special.

But ultimately, I imagine they won't as long as it is making money. Which I completely understand but it would be nice if they gave the cash cow a rest for a little bit and at least tried to fix her broken leg and that weird giant growth on her back and tried to figure out why the cash cow barks instead of moos...

In that case, nothing will ever happen. The moment you start saying "What if...", killer mains will come out and state that it will be abused by survivors. Not because they think it will, not because they have any proof for that. Just because camping and tunneling are their bread and butter, and they like it the easy way.

Throw out some ideas then for me. Don't worry about killer mains who will just say "it would be abused" because I will give you actual real life reasons why an idea would be abused and/or punish innocent killers.

Komrad here has been the closest to someone I've seen with ideas but all of their ideas are more positive reinforcements for killers (killers who could still camp/tunnel/slug all they want, Konrad just has a few ideas to reward killers for not).

Tie bloodpoint payout are now the total points earned by Survivors and Killers, with modifiers for each role.

I doubt that would matter (people who are camping/tunneling are easily punished if the survivors just gen rush them). I do think it would be an interesting experiment to try though if BHVR was feelin like really trying to shake things up but I feel like it would be the same issue we see now.

1m radius. You would literally need to be trying to abuse the slugged under Hooked Survivor glitch (that I'm unsure if it has been fixed)

Survivors that are not on a generator while the Killer is occupied with another Survivor are literally sub-optimal, while also causing interaction. The only reason SWFs think they can do that with clicky-clicks around you is that they think they can get gens done fast. If it's at the start of that match, they screw themselves over. And if you can't make the 1min of Survivor removed from a match work in your favor, there are larger issues involved.

Also, no, the "flip-flop" effect would only occur if you continually drop the Survivor. If you are dropping them, it should be for a reason. If you are going to chase another Survivor, do so. Don't just drop them to wait out the 30s sabo timer while you fend off the buzzing survivors like a swarm of flies (well you can, but if it's at the tail end of your pathing that Survivor that sabo'ed you should be the one you go try and down anyway)

Ah, I misunderstood you then. I thought you were saying that survivors on the ground would get to keep their progress (as in, if they are at 75% when they get picked up, their wiggle meter is now at 75%).

The slug thing I actually would love to see. While I understand why killers do it, the "slug survivor #3 to go after #4 when they have no idea where they're at" is super crappy for the survivor (as well as just letting them bleed out). This would allow the survivor to get themselves out faster if the killer is being a jerk and just bleeding someone out just to bleed them out while having minimal impact on a killer hunting survivor #4 (because to be blunt, if you haven't found them in two minutes, you're almost certainly not finding them in four).

Regarding the Tunneling "Buff" for the Mori, it means you would have to have [x] number of Hooks with the last survivor not being the last person Hooked.

My suggestion is for X =6. At minimum 6 independent Hooks where the last Survivor Hooked was not the most recent Hook.

I still am of the mind that if a killer is going to tunnel, they're going to tunnel. Giving them a free mori if they don't tunnel someone isn't going to stop them at all. The only thing it would really do is reward killers like me who go out of their way NOT to tunnel but that's not nearly enough of a reward to stop a tunneler.

So is Disconnecting. If a Player's connection fails, they leave the game. That's part of the game.

But, that's considered unsporting, and is punished.

Why? Does it ruin the experience for people?

    As for Ideas:

Slugging: Faster Bleedout while nearby a Hook. probably x2. And remove Wiggle decay. (Also, basekit Unbreakable after 60s or so)

Camping and Tunneling are still crucial parts of the game as loss mechanisms, but a Killer should be rewarded for choosing not to do so while they have control. Give the Killer the basekit ability to Mori a DeathHook Survivor if they've chained enough Hooks without the previous Survivor being the last Survivor to be Hooked (Tunneling).

I have no idea what you're going on about with the DC stuff so I'm just going to ignore that...

I guess if you want to die faster when slugged, we can introduce faster bleedout by the hook. That seems like it would be a hell of a nerf to survivors, especially since there are plenty of places you wouldn't be able to go without inadvertently killing yourself (I guess unless you made it so the survivors had to go right under a hook to do it so that it was clear they were trying to kill themselves rather than crawling for Hatch or crawling to a fellow survivor who is near a hook).

Both the wiggle decay and the free unbreakable would both be easily abused, especially by SWF groups who are working together and communicating to force the killer to drop their would-be victim. It can already be damn near impossible to hook someone when you have SWFs coordinating hook destruction, I can't imagine how bad it would get if the person on the ground basically got free Flippity Flop and Unbreakable out of it...

The tunneling thing also seems more like a buff to the killer rather than something that would stop tunneling. If someone wants to tunnel, they're gonna tunnel. Being able to Mori someone and save 10ish seconds it takes to hook them instead isn't going to do anything.

  • While some would consider it unsporting, camping/tunneling/slugging are all part of the game

As I've said in many other threads, as soon as someone can come up with an idea that doesn't immediately get abused by survivors and/or punish innocent killers, I'm game. But I have yet to hear a single suggestion that wouldn't be one of those two things (or both in many cases).

  • I just had someone DC from my Ghostface on the Silent Hill map when I found them first so I'm guessing it's any indoor map

Especially stupid as we had four cakes in play (they had one too so it's not like they were the odd man out)

I never really understood that thinking there but whatevs I guess. I played the remaining three survivors "like normal" but strangely I was exceptionally bad as I just couldn't catch anyone on the Death Hook! All well, those games happen I suppose... :D

  • My guess is to even out how many people are at what rank for matchmaking purposes. If it's too bottom heavy or top heavy, it messes with the matchmaking system as one side or the other doesn't have the player base to play while the other side has way too many people in it.

  • Doing something super annoying at the killer annoyed the killer!?!?!

For me if you got to that point you earned the escape, as long as i don't de-pip I'm fine

I'm pretty chill and give survivor(s) free escapes every few games and or depending on the circumstances so I don't find it insulting in the slightest.

I mean it is just a game, its not E-Sports lol

Usually unless the survivor insists, I won't do it for a kill hook. I'll take the pity hook (ESPECIALLY if I never hooked them so I need my BBQ stack) but ideally I will then walk away, let people save them and heal, and then they can either walk away or I'll hit them at the gate, let them heal up, then do it again (most of the time people don't stick around this long but especially with cakes in play, more players seem to be fine with this setup).

I know there are some who have been burned by this so I make sure when I hit them as the killer that I walk away and let them heal up before I re-enter the gated area.

  • *Sad Chainsaw Noises*

  • I'm using them all now

Sometimes I get tunneled by some jerkface but it's not like I can't get tunneled by some jerkface if I use it in two weeks or two months or two years or something. Just right now there are also niceface killers out there taking their pedal off the gas to allow everyone to score some sweet sweet extra BP

I mean, it's awesome that they have fixes in sight, but they extended the event and now the fixes are scheduled for after the extended event concludes? That's pretty depressing.

Yeah...I'm not a game scientist but this is just baffling to me

"We're extending the event because so many of you are getting screwed by how awful your system is running. We're sorry and to make it up for you, we are extending the event a week!!! Also, the fix for all your problems are coming a week after the extension! *Breaks into Moana's "What can I say except, you're welcome!" song*

    I just...I just don't get it.

  • "We are going to take action"

So what does that actually mean?

Unless they have specifically said that the action will be "you will be banned if you receive enough reports against you", then yes, people are making assumptions and crapping themselves in rage over something they're assuming.

  • Grab a brown add on and let the perks burn!!!! 🔥

  • There is no new ban system yet

As to what everyone is so scared of, people are petrified by the name (since unless I missed something, BHVR hasn't said anything else except the name of it). People are under the assumption based on the name that if you get reported X amount of times, you are automatically banned from the game.

  • I have found more killers reject it when I offer them a free hook at the end. I don't know if they just want to move on or if they feel insulted but I'll just leave if they don't want it

When I'm a killer, I have no issues taking the kill/hook. Pride don't put Blood points on the table!

  • It's a'ight

Most games have at least two cakes in play (I am always playing a cake or BPS if I don't have one).

It would be nice if there were less jerks going out of their way to ruin it (not people playing normally, survivors rushing like they'll die in real life if I catch them once or killers just face camping) but I've found that's maybe...15% of my games. Overall people have been relatively chill. I wish more survivors would take advantage of me hitting them at the gate so they can heal each other and we all get free points but I do understand why so many are gunshy about it (even though once I hit, I step WAY back to make sure it's clear what I'm doing).

I'd like the event to be a bit more than just a copy/paste of last year but whatevs.

  • The Shack's and the Basement in said Shack are fine

This is where survivors REALLY need better situational awareness. It's amazing how many times I'll see survivors sprinting towards the Killer Shack because of the strong loop but either through mindgames or them just not being very good, I'll smack them down and carry them right into the basement when playing as Bubba.

Now it doesn't hurt them nearly as much when they do it to me as I'm not going to sit down there and camp but survivors seem to love to F around in the Killer Shack with the Basement there. I don't know if it's ego or if they're just willing to take their chances with the strong loop but far too many survivors seem to do their very best to set it up for them to get themselves camped down there (either directly like Bubba or indirectly like a Trapper or Hag setting traps around it).

  • Huh... I've never used it as it sounded really dum but I may have to try it now.

  • Did I have fun

  • The knives shouldn't go away unless the survivor actively does something (Presumably something like Mend).

There are no other effects like this that just go away. Your Feral Frenzy stab doesn't just go away on its own. The Gunslinger's gun injury doesn't just go away. Being asleep doesn't just go away. Being insane doesn't just go away.

So why does Tricker have his knife damage just magically disappear if the survivor manages to loop a few seconds without getting hit again?

I haven't been able to get my hands on a PS5 yet sadly and if I'm required to get a next gen console so the game is playable, then why is the game still allowed to be played on PS4? Just frustrating.

If it makes you feel better, I 100% agree

If BHVR is somehow unable or unwilling to make DBD work on the last gen consoles, it should stop selling the game and the DLC.

Fix the game or officially drop the support

  • Yeah, I do not get this decision. Until there is...you know...an actual fix, what good is extending the event?

Joining my Series X brother above, I am not affected by these slowdowns and issues so I'm super happy about the extension but if the point is to say "Sorry we done F'ed up" to last gen/older PC users, the hell good extending the event going to do them?

  • I don't wait out CI but I generally don't do gens during CI either (until someone gets smacked and I know I'm clear!).

I won't hide in the corner though as I'll go around looking for totems or chests to open up and give me something shiny. Most killers patrol JUST the open gens during CI so why would I go over to them?

  • I still feel like the easiest fix (aside from giving voice coms) is to just make Kindred default

The lack of communication is a huge problem for solos. Having Kindred removes a lot of questions (who is going for the save, is the killer camping, how many of my team is self healing in the corner instead of doing anything helpful, etc) without giving everyone the super powers of speech.

SWFs receive zero benefit from this (since they'd just tell each other who is doing what) so it would really help elevate solos at least a little closer to SWF Power Levels

Wait if/(maybe) his buff come live...

Then people won't think he's garbage anymore. But I doubt it they will update him with his PTB buffs.

But if he does I'm 100% sure you will have a lot of people complaining that is his too strong.

I sincerely doubt it'll matter. I've said it in other posts but I'll say it here; I don't think Trickster can EVER be buffed that would make him fair on PC and fair on Console. Right now on console, you're lucky if you can hit a damn survivor a handful of times unless they're just running in a straight line out in the open begging you to hit them with knives (and even then, I give it a 50/50).

I don't play on PC but my buddy who does says he can throw knives with no issues there. The console just isn't precise enough to deal with how sporadic Tricker's knife throwing.

I've taken survivors out using Tricker but every time I've done it, it was in SPITE of Tricker, not because of Trickster.

  • He's got an awesome aesthetic and is one of the coolest looking killers in the game

    It's a shame he's hot garbage :(

  • I am constantly accused of tunneling and/or camping when I do no such thing. So I just ignore these kind of messages cause it's just a waste of everyone's time to engage.

  • You just have to get to Burt's Basement and you'll be good!

  • Honestly I think it's the Event

Nice survivors get face camped/tunneled by some jerk killer who is being a jerk because of the event. The survivors get irked and bitter and start taking it out on killers with being annoying clickity click jerks. They do annoying clickity click jerk things to a killer who is trying to be nice during the event, which irks them and makes them bitter so they start taking it out on survivors. A nice survivor gets irked and bitter and...

and now everyone is an A-Hole! :D

  • The Killer Shack is The Killers Domain (I mean...it's in the name even). With the Killer Shack God Pallet, most survivors worth their salt can loop that building four times before running into an issue (three vaults and a pallet). If the killer does have Bamboozle, you now have what should easily be two loops around the building before there's an issue. If anything, the Killer Shack is too weak for the Killers given it's supposed to be their shack...

If you feel like the Killer Shack is too unsafe to loop around for you, don't loop the Killers Shack. There's about five thousand other things for survivors to run around, go run around one of those if you can't make The Killer Shack loop work for you.

Definitely. Hope saved me in one of my crown attempts, though. The killer was chasing me at the end, and Hope kicked in, allowed me to miss a hit. My team left after I got downed, except one of the Nancies, which gave me time to break out and make a run to the exit.

I have now gotten all of the crowns

To be fair, you should probably only run it with a map offering.

The games I do with DH Undying and some tracking perks usually come down to the wire and I’m relying on the totem to carry me.

The survivors can slam the gens so fast with no slowdowns; especially with you letting them be unhooked for free and not wanting to tunnel for fear of DS losing your stack momentum.

I rarely use it, basically only using it when I'm feeling kind of bored and wanting to do something weird

It usually never works out. There are ways I could help mitigate that (like Hex Undying or using an Indoor Map offering since those Hexes are usually trickier to find) but I'm not all that concerned about it. Just a fun thing to try once in a while when I feel like throwing a Hail Mary to see what happens (or if I have a "Kill by your hand" Daily and add that to the build).

  • You know what happens the majority of time I run Devour Hope?

    It's broken before I get a single hook :D

Like other Hex Totems, it is High Risk High Reward. You could get a Hex that allows you to take out survivors incredibly quickly if they either ignored or couldn't find my Devour Hope Hex or you could play the entire game with three perks because a survivor spawned with the lit hex inside of them they were so close to it.

Personally even when it does come into play, it's very rare that I get to actually use it to Mori people. If it somehow survived me getting three hooks, the second people realize it's in play since it gives everyone a big EXPOSED warning, people drop everything and go find the Hex. Unless I'm just stupid lucky and the Hex is in a super good hiding spot, it's usually broken before I get to start murdering those meddling kids and their mangy dog...

  • I do greatly enjoy playing as The Twins. They can be majorly frustrating as sometimes the game doesn't work well (I have Victor slam into the survivor, having his path slightly divert even so I know the game recognized he hit something but then not latch on) but overall they're a blast to play as.

It is also fun to do literal jump scare Victor as I jump on a survivor working on a gen who had no idea I was there

  • @NomiNomad said:

I love Oni, he's one of my three mains.

But every ######### time I play him, I get the Game. It's like a curse.

Oni does seem to love the indoor maps for some reason...

  • I'm doing my best!!! :,(

  • Unfortunately it's just the nature of multiplayer. There's always going to be people who go out of their way to ruin the fun for everyone else. I don't know if they need more hugs or if some bully is beating them up and they're taking it out in video games where we can't give them a wedgie or maybe they're just a plain old fashioned jerk.

It's unfortunate but that's humans for you :(

  • I am not a killer who will tunnel/camp/slug unless there is a very good and desperate reason for it

Someone bringing a key in that fashion (just having a key in my eyes is fine) means you do not get that courtesy

I will do my best to keep all four alive as long as possible (since one of them dying means the hatch is likely to spawn) and a lot of times that will mean people are getting slugged once people are on their Death Hooks.

If you're going to play like that, two can play. It's an absolutely dirty move to do to a killer and I will have zero qualms about playing dirty right back if you pull that kind of ish.

  • I have them all for the killers and most of them on the survivors

Survivors are taking a lot longer as I usually main one and the rest just kind of sit around so I don't have perks and stuff for so many of them. Surviving can be tricky as it is but surviving with some of these really bad perks only is...rough

  • That last game is the situation when a bad teammate can get everyone killed because of them...

Playing The Game against Trapper. Mistake #1, the bad teammate gets hooked down in the basement. Sucks but it happens.

Mistake #2, after the Trapper sets traps all around the basement because of course the bad teammate makes sure to get put in The Game's basement against The Trapper, the Trapper finally leaves. I open the traps needed so that we can escape while ignoring the ones that we can go around because they wouldn't be THAT stupid to just run into those traps...right?.....RIGHT?!?!?

Guess who runs straight into a trap that they should have easily avoided.

Now Trapper has returned and the entire team gets ourselves caught and stuck down there (which granted, I was already down there so I was screwed before I realized how bad the teammate was but they should have left us for dead at that point once it was clear The Trapper was just going to post up shop at the entry way.

Ultimately she escapes only to run into a damn trap across the map anyway as everyone else is busy getting slaughtered trying to save one another. It's The Game for crying out loud! If you're running into a trap without being actively chased (so you're stuck and have no choice), you're doing something VERY wrong. They basically have neon signs painted on them that say "HERE I AM!!!!!!"

Life as a solo survivor I suppose...

Subscribers only for the VOD my dude. Followers only chat.

Well that's even dumber then. Is the TTV person thinking I'm going to be so intrigued by not being able to watch my match that I'm going to subscribe to them to watch them play against strangers?

Like... I've subbed to a handful of TTVs after watching my game with them and appreciating their personality/attitude in the game (I'm rarely ever actually watching anything but I have heard a high sub count helps them even if I don't watch) but that feels like you're hamstringing yourself even more than the normal hamstringing that is getting any traction on Twitch...

  • I don't even think I have a "true" main. It's rare that I ever play the same killer twice in a row (unless I'm specifically playing for a daily).

There are killers I gravitate to (Leatherface and Oni) but I'm all over the place in terms of who I use. I feel like I do just fine doing this.

  • I don't even get why they do that

Like...are they expecting I'm going to go to their channel later? I'm so disappointed that I don't get to watch my game that I'm going to be sitting around all day with my breath held waiting for them to come back so I can watch them play against strangers?
