Honestly, yeah, I am a little worried about it as a red ranked killer.
I've said before and I stand by it; if you have an equally skilled group of survivors going up against an equally skilled killer, the killer is going to lose 9 times out of 10. The game at high levels where survivors know all the little tricks and strategies can be downright hell for a killer and if those survivors are the only ones I get to play against because the game thinks I'm a super good killer...
With all that said, I'm more than willing to try the SBMM and see how it pans out. If I'm wrong, awesome! But I do feel like my concern is completely valid and not just me wanting a group of survivors to curb stomp.

And I absolutely ######### wish that's all they'd do but they don't and it's really pissing me off
I've never had them do that. They either just disconnect right away or go get themselves killed right away.
Either way to me, the game is likely dead in the water anyway since it can be hard enough as a solo player in red ranks to survive with a full team, let alone 3 v 1. I'm going to grab what points I can from the baby and go from there. If they decide to throw a temper tantrum over it and start working with the killer and/or just being annoying, that's on them.
-
If someone is killing themselves on the hook (especially right away), the game is basically dead anyway. I'm going to try to get my WGLF stack and Altruism points. They want to leave so badly, they can go find the killer again or DC.
Reporting them isn't going to do us any good as it's not against the rules to do it
-
I've seen it like that on the Swamp a few times where two gens are spawned on the raised deck thingy
It seems to be happening more often now with some gens just spawning right on top of each other. I always try to keep 3 genning myself in mind as a survivor but now it's especially a concern for whatever reason.
-
I don't know if I'd call it a grudge but maybe I'm just saying that cause I feel like it would make me look silly if I were holding a grudge...
I have a couple of "rules" for when I give people the Hatch and/or choose who to go after if it's a 50/50 split between two survivors. You hit me with a stun or flashlight, that's fair game and I can respect that. But people who clickity click, constant vault/locker jump to make a noise indicator, and people who T-Bag should have a little Telltale Games style pop-up that says "Tippy will remember that" as your chance to be allowed to live if it is my choice as the killer has now been forfeited away.
-
You can't get me if you can't open my door!
-
It's bad enough on PC and then add in even more hoops for us console players to get a damn recording...
It takes me longer to report a player than it does to play a match.
-
-
That sounds like it would be Object Of Obsession and you just had an entire team running it.
-
They have said they will not do that
I'm...not sure why. Seems like a lot of work to just toss down the drain but I'm not a video game lawyer scientist so maybe there's a good reason.
-
But I like Blood Warden the way it is...
Although if EGC begins as soon as the gen is done, why would the exit gate regression even be needed? The entire point of 99ing a gate is to prevent EGC from starting so if it starts up by default at 5 gens popping, survivors would have no reason to not just open the gate.
The only change I would want to make to it is allow me to trigger Blood Warden once I hook someone instead of it triggering by default when someone is hooked but that would probably make it WAY too powerful.
-
For whatever reason, BHVR is absolutely petrified of making the grind even a little less grindy
I'm...not sure why
-
It would be a nice little QoL improvement for survivor. It especially sucks when you're getting hooked AS the last gen pops for your second hook so it goes into that fixed camera animation and I have no opportunity to even look for the stupid gate. It's not like it happens constantly or something but just one little thing to help bridge the gap between SWF and Solo.
-
Me too :(
Oh, you're talking about Demogorgon. Yeah, that sucks too. It would be nice if they figured something out but I'm not going to hold my breath.
-
It would be awesome to dump a crappy killer like Trickster and get my money back but unfortunately BHVR does not do refunds on digital stuff like DLC :(
-
Dead is dead; whether they kill me with a Mori or via the Hook doesn't really matter to me. I find that...a very strange thing to get salty and DC over (especially considering how much BP you left by quitting instead of waiting 10 seconds for the Mori to be over with) but you do you I guess...
-
Whether you lost connection cause you quit or because your connection is awful doesn't matter to The Machine (nor does it matter to the four people's game you just ruined).
You're not likely going to get any help to get unbanned. I don't believe you ever get actually perma banned for DC'ing but you're unlikely to ever get any help as it builds up because you keep getting disconnected.

Wraith seems like a chill guy I'd hang out with.
You say that now but wait until the bill comes, you hear a bell, and all of a sudden it's you alone to pay the bar tab!
-
I'm not sure there's many horror villains in this game you can't say that about. Like...Freddy "Diddles little kids" Krueger is in the game for crying out loud.
Except maybe The Plague based on what we know of her backstory, I'm not sure there's a killer in this game you'd look at and go "I want to hang out and be friends with that guy/gal".

Okay, there are 4 perks directly related to finding totems, and then the map item but again the point has been missed the perk should exist it rewards the killer for playing poorly.
Or it punishes survivors who decided not to do bones
If the killer is playing poorly, you've got plenty of time to do bones. Run one of the perks, bring a map, or risk getting killed by a "bad" killer running a perk that you gambled and lost on countering.
-
They have said it will be retired period (as in, won't be reskinned or anything like that).
I'm...not 100% sure why as that seems like a lot of work to just have go down the toilet but I am not a Game Scientist so what do I know?
-
It seems likely that the state he is currently in is the state that he will stay in
Sure, plenty of us already have him but if BHVR can't sell more of him, it's unlikely they're going to bother with making any changes
-
That's so weird to me that you can put all this work into characters and abilities and maps and just have it all go away cause... whatever.
I'd think if you bought the license, you would buy it so that all the work you did wouldn't just one day go POOF if the maker decided not to renew the license. Maybe that's just not realistic but it's baffling to me you can just have stuff yanked out of your game like this...
-
I've stopped using it unless I KNOW I've got them dead to rights. The hitbox for the whip is figgity as hell and really unreliable for me at least (same with Pyramid Head and his underground knife thing).

Oh...
Then who hit me with a meat hook?
GASP
The killer from "I know what you did last summer" confirmed!!!!!

I said Candyman in the mirror three times to get him to come to DBD and all I got was this hook to the head :(
-
Will the real Slim Shady, please stand up
-
I love Bloodwarden
It doesn't come into play probably 80% of my games and 19% of the time it does come into play, I might get one more kill out of it. But man...the 1% when I manage to get a bunch of jerk survivors doing jerk things and having BW pop out of the ground and murder them all for their insults makes it so very worth using it, even if I am effectively handicapping myself with only three perks for most games...
-
Anyone trying to use Dead Hard to dodge a hit as the killer swings is doing Dead Hard wrong
It's also likely why we'll never see it adjusted as too many people see it as a hit dodger instead of what makes it so stupidly powerful, a distance getter
-
I get that BHVR likes people talking about it but I feel like this teaser setup is going to backfire something fierce.
There's enough signs in what they've done to point to Hellraiser or FNAF now so by default, a lot of people are just going to get super hyped only to be massively disappointed.
They've done teaser stuff before but this just feels...well...teasing (but not the fun kind for whichever "side" isn't the killer). IDK, maybe it's just me...
-
Pinhead and Co (and Candyman) were both horror franchises I didn't see until last year.
On the negative side, that's decades where I didn't get to watch stuff but on the plus side, it allowed me to watch basically just the good ones (HR 1 & 2 and the original Candyman respectively) without having to trudge through the garbage that both series seemed to have become.
Although both are now getting reboot/sequel things coming out so I imagine if it were Pinhead, it'll be Nu-Pinhead rather than classic Pinhead. That didn't go very well with Nu-Freddy so I am curious to see how it would go with Nu-Pinhead...

But why even bother at this point? It was not meant to hit and you know that this was not meant to hit. So why bother when you get the information that it hit?
It happened to me like 5 times since it went live, and most of the time I am like "eh, whatever": I am not upset, because I know that this should not have hit in the first place.
But they should do something that it does not look like it hit on the Killers side, so no screams or Blood. But this is the only thing that needs changing, but I am actually wondering why players who know what this means still get upset and think they get "robbed".
This particular example shown by the OP I do agree it wasn't very close but I've had plenty of swings where I'd have bet my entire savings that I hit them only for the game to do the "JK LOL" motion, I'd have lost everything a couple of times now.
Had the game not teased me into thinking I made the hit, I'd have still been irked but begrudgingly accepted that maybe I wasn't as close as I thought I was or something (though at this point now that I'm "used" to this crap, I just have started by default assuming I didn't actually hit anyone regardless of what I see on my screen until I see them lying on the floor and they stay down for at least a few seconds).
Like most BHVRisms, I've kind of just accepted that this is going to be the way it is and I can only hope they're going to fix it eventually. But I admittedly let this game get to me a LOT more than I probably should and having the game itself tease me like that is not going to make that any better. My desire to play the game has already plummeted greatly in the last few months anyway, having the killer experience become that much worse than it already is isn't something I'm all that interested in just playing through anymore.

Thats a valid superficial issue and it will be resolved. Lol pun.
This is BHVR we're talking about. An issue like this might be fixed tomorrow. Or it might be fixed next week. Or it might be fixed in three years when it finally hits the point that it is causing the game immense issues and causing people to abandon the game on mass and it FINALLY forces them to actually figure out what the hell is wrong with their game.
BHVRs word that they're fixing something is about as reliable as a Blendette swearing they're not just going to hide all game.
-
I obviously can't speak for every killer but for myself and most other killers, I think that video perfectly shows what our problem with this is...
If I didn't get the hit, that's fair. I am accepting that. If it's close and the game edges it out slightly to the survivor, so be it I suppose.
What is irking me though is that the game ACTS like I hit the survivor (the survivor screams and you can clearly hear the "I hit you" squishy noise). Killer is stressful enough at times against good survivors and now I can't trust my eyes and ears as the game flips a coin to determine who has the "right" view.
-
He shouldn't lose his powers just because he stalks. No other killers just lose their powers because they used them too much so why does he?
If someone is AFK, the game is pretty much shot anyway but I suppose if that is THAT big of a concern to people, make it so that Mikey can only stalk one person for so long before having to stalk someone else (so as I stalk one survivor, the other three survivors "recharge" the ability to be stalked).
If people are also that concerned as well about Tombstone/Piece, then I suppose you could have the hard stalker limits like he's currently set to built into the add-on but if they're using Tombstone/Piece, they've probably already murdered the person they sucked all the stalker juice out of anyway...
-
I'm not going to sit here and tell you what perks to use. It's your character, you do you
That said, as a killer who runs Nurse's Calling on most killers, Self Care is one of my favorites to go against.
I play solo queue exclusively so I understand the pain of not having a reliable healing method but I prefer Bond and finding teammates rather than self care.

its not a waste of time im doing the community a favor to get these nihilistic players from playing dbd
I feel like you're misinterpreting what the OP is talking about because nothing they did is against the rules.
Basically a survivor got stuck in a corner from the OP body blocking as The Plague. Damaging a survivor with vomit doesn't let them phase through though so if you trap a survivor that way, you can down them by vomiting on them to damage them then smacking them down.
They're not holding them hostage or something by body blocking forever. It takes one vomit to do it and then a smack; 15 seconds at best.
-
I seem to get one a game who puts themselves in a corner and gives me a free down from it.
BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!!!!
Smack
GGEZ 😇
-
His chase music is indeed excellent. The only thing that keeps him from being a perfect killer is he doesn't say STAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRERRrrrrrrrrrrrrssssssssssssssssss, which by default means he is ruined

There is absolutely a... tunnel 😎...vision problem many survivors have. I had a streamer I watched when I was Oni get SUPER pissed at me for "tunneling" them.
They kept going back to the same generator while injured. In their mind, I was doing nothing but hunting them. What they didn't see though was me going to the other side of the map, checking on three gens, not finding anyone, before walking back to the gen they were working on when I heard them whimpering in the next room. All they saw in their mind was them getting unhooked, their teammate taking off and not healing them, then the killer coming back instantly (even though it was about 45 seconds; not a ton of time in real life but a long ass time for a killer in this game), and dropping them. They were the only one hooked three times in a row as I couldn't find anyone else and they were constantly going back to the same gen.
Too many survivors only focus on themselves that they don't realize how much the killer did before they were found again.
-
That is certainly...a take
He's certainly not an awful killer but to get the most out of his powers, you need to know what you're doing. Hitting people with the tentacle isn't always easy (especially against experienced survivors) and the zeds are basically useless flies buzzing around doing nothing.
He's not a bottom tier killer but I'd put a lot of killers above him, especially if we're talking about noob friendly killers rather than powerful killers
-
I am also really hating the event stuff and am really glad the 2X is about to go away soon
There seems to be nothing but people who don't use the cakes but play like they're fighting for their damn life in the game when I use my cake. I've stopped using the cakes, which makes me feel bad when I actually get games with people who are using their cakes too but games where everyone is using BPS Party Bonus items have easily been the exception, not the rule all damn weekend.
At least on the killer side I have a bit more leeway when it comes to try harding and letting survivors who use cakes go but I put everything to my normal build now and just don't use it if in the rare instances I do run into a cake party (like Bloodwarden where it'll be equipped but I won't do anything to force it to activate if the survivors brought cake). I'm sure they'd rather me bring a cake but I'm sick of pissing these things away on people just flying through the game and/or disconnecting at the smallest of inconveniences.
-
Myth: The killer going after me is tunneling
Truth: Tunneling is the killer going after one target and only one target until said target is dead and ignoring all others, even if it's to the killers detriment.
The killer finding just you because your teammate abandoned after a unsafe hook isn't the killer tunneling you. The killer finding you working on the generator you were working on before you were hooked and they came back to it figuring someone might have gone to keep working on it is not them tunneling you. The killer hitting you because you body blocked with BT on and now for some reason the killer is chasing you is not them tunneling you. The killer going to the other side of the map looking for people, not finding anyone, and then coming back to the hook you were hooked at but you didn't bother to leave because you thought that healing yourself under the hook was a good idea is not the killer tunneling you.
TLDR; Some of you have some incredibly warped ideas of what "tunneling" is to the point where the killer trying to kill you has turned into them being a tunneling try-hard...

I'm really just tired of people doing it. So gonna make it my mission to punish it way more in my own killer games.
I hear ya
It's also amazing how many survivors then come back and yell at you for tunneling them. Like...you threw yourself at me survivor. How was I supposed to know you didn't actually want a Knife Hug?!?!?!
-
Tough but fair!
-
It is not.
Hell, it's not even taking the game hostage if you're the last survivor on the ground and they just leave you there for four minutes. It's super annoying and a waste of everyone's time but the game is going to end in four minutes.
I don't like to slug the third survivor to look for the fourth (unless I specifically can see the fourth survivor and am going after them). Personally, I'd rather move to the next game rather than worry about the 4K but that's my specific call. I find it annoying and a little eye rolling when a killer slugs me to look for the fourth but I understand why they're doing it.
-
His normal powers are pretty outdated so if you're going to play as him, might as well play as him using the only power that is kind of fun on him.
