I can 100% guarantee that any killer just face camping someone on the hook couldn't give a toss about their points (they lose emblem points but I'm assuming when you are saying points, you're referring to BP). They want to secure the kill; no more, no less.
-
It's a unfortunate reality of just any PVP game period. Whether it's because some people are just jerks or some people are a little bit too competitive or some people are just making up for how miserable their own life is by spreading that around. A lot of people just don't have respect for the game and/or their opponents.
All you can do is roll your eyes, not let it get to you, and move on.
-
I generally will let them go if they are unhooked in my face since I've been in that situation far too often and it absolutely sucks to get hung out to dry by your teammates
That being said, if it's towards the end of the game, sucks to be you. I will do my best to not tunnel or camp but come the end game, nice killer Tippy has likely left the building. If there's only one or two gens left, I will likely be merciful and just slug you so that the game is forced to slow down a bit.
Alternatively if you run at me and body block expecting BT to save you, THEN I will specifically go after you instead of the bad unhooker. My feeling bad for you because of a bad teammate flew out the door the second you decided to use a defensive perk as an offensive weapon...
-
Keep in mind too that just because the copyright battle is over doesn't mean anything for BHVR. Maybe the copyright holder will want too much money. Maybe he wants to pick Friday the 13th The Game back up. Maybe he just doesn't want Jason in the game period.
This is all also assuming it doesn't go right back into copyright hell with new lawsuits or appeals or whatnot.
There's a LOT that still would have to happen before Jason is murdering teenagers in this game...
-
We'll take Deathslinger to our own park, with blackjack, and hookers!
...actually, he'd fit right in at that park so maybe this is for the best.

I have no desire to voice chat with people. Everyone has already talked about the closest fix (buff solos by giving them the same info swfs have like base kindred so we can see everyone and a totem counter so we know how many bones are left).
Right now solo has to burn perk slots to get information swfs get for free, leaving solos with less perks (or less information). Buff solos up to swf level (or as close to it as you can) and buff killers accordingly.

well, survivors especially in solo play will be at each other's throats. One wants to break totems, the other wants to bless them. That can be something :)
This right is here is my main thing I'm questioning about how much thought actually went into this or if BHVR is just adding things to add things
In a game where teamwork already feels damn near impossible for solo players, now they want to introduce a mechanic where half the team wants to do bones while the other half desperately wants to make sure all bones survive...
I just don't quite get BHVRs logic here
-
I think you'd have better luck asking if anyone else actually likes that map.
There's always outliers but I would imagine the vast majority of the community either does not care for it or actively dislikes The RPD.

For the most part, my teammates have been way worse. Like...scared little bunnies who bolt if they even hear a possible heartbeat at some point in the last two minutes scared. The "I literally just started the game and am pee my pants frightened at everything" scared.
I don't know if I should feel super insulted as if BHVR is putting me with these people means BHVR thinks I'm at this level or what. It is common that I will get a ton of points but always die as I seem to be the only one doing things (Unless I get hooked first, then there's a coin flip of a chance that I'm going to die up there).
I REALLY hope it gets better because this has been brutal. I never go into Solo Queue expecting greatness but insert the "Our expectations were low but Holy #########" meme here when it has come to Solo Queuing the last week or two...
-
While I would like that buff as well, I'm not sure how much it would ultimately help. I play (almost) exclusively solo queue and run Kindred on everything. While having the slot open for other stuff would be super, it doesn't stop my three potato teammates from being useless as one hides in the basement because the heartbeat went off about two minutes ago and they're petrified, one is in the corner healing, and the third one went AFK...
I do agree it would help though but unfortunately that's just kind of the nature of the solo queue. Sometimes you get competent teammates, sometimes you get toddlers who are chewing on the controller and accidentally started a match, and once in a blue moon when all the planets line up and the Sacrifice to The Old Gods has been accepted you might get a good team.
-
BW is so rare so many survivors don't even consider it a possibility. It's really the only reason you'd ever get the big BW 4K with it. I use BW with a few killers and I think I've gotten the big 4K with BW MAYBE half a dozen times and always because the survivor group that got nailed with it were being cocky d-bags about surviving and it bit them in the butt. I might get another individual kill thanks to BW but it's incredibly rare to get the big 4K with it.
Nerfing a perk that really only comes into play maybe once in a dozen matches (and even then it might net you one more hook/kill) doesn't make any sense. I'm playing the entire match with 3 perks so if the survivors play the end game so badly that I get a 4K with BW, I deserve it.

Because turning up the volume doesn't change the audio mix. Stridor does. It's for consistency and relative volume.
This as well as I don't really feel like blowing out my ear drums every game by blasting the entire game at top volume just to make it a little easier to hear people running around and grunting...

My love for the game has been slowly leaking out. I'm not even 100% sure why either. I don't think killer is that much worse than it has been in the past for me (although that might be part of the problem for it's like you said early in the thread; every game seems to be either getting your ass handed to you or handing the survivors asses to them with very little middle ground any more).
But I feel like maybe that's just the ultimate destination of a game like this. The killer has to ultimately become the punching bag as low level survivors need the killer to be like that so they have a chance but this comes at the expense of high level killers as high level survivors know all the tricks to make the killer look silly. If you adjust it, low level survivors get frustrated by being constantly stomped and you lose out on all that sexy new player money. Old vets have already given you their money so them leaving out of frustration is negligible as long as new blood keeps flowing in...

Well I just sat for 15 minutes as survivor and now just joined a lobby with a killer and nobody else. Just.. Waiting. Oh now, I have two.
Edit:
At 21 minutes one left, just me and killer. Sigh.
Huh...very strange
Either way it's a mess that hopefully will be fixed tomorrow (since presumably this should be the hotfix patch that we normally see dropped on Tuesdays, it was just early for Series X/S users for some reason)

I am convinced its MMR. I have lots of hours and am just sitting.
Hard to say for sure. I have a ton of hours as well (actually, I can grab the exact for funsy! According to my Xbox, I have 71 Days, 20 Hours, and 47 Minutes) so I'm not sure that's the issue either.
Although maybe it's just killer side. Normally right now throughout the night it would be instant queue. I've only waited two minutes so far but that is way longer than it normally would be. We'll see how long this ultimately takes but I have a feeling that it's going to be the long wait I have been hearing on here...
EDIT: Yup, must be killer. I'm at the five minute mark now. I'd keep waiting For Science but...I don't wanna :D
I'm just gonna not play killer until it gets fixed
-
It's been very strange because everyone with the Xbox Series X/S here seems to be having all kinds of problems with getting games where queue has been instant (for survivor at least, I haven't actually tried killer as I've been having issues unrelated to the game so I've wanted the much more relaxed survivor game rather than trying to do killer games)
I'm playing with no one but Xbox Series X/S as well but maybe I'm just lucky with my location or something as I would expect to have the same issues as everyone else given the very limited next-gen supply but for whatever reason I'm not.
-
I thought the box disappeared if Pinny teleported to the box? Or did the survivor just hold onto it the whole time and never attempted to solve it before Pinny showed up?
-
My queue times have been fine but I'm also almost certain I have been transported into the Baby Survivor Queue instead...
I had someone trying to heal me yesterday who failed three skill checks in a row before I finally pointed away from me and walked away. How do you fail three skill checks in a row? A toddler chewing on the controller would manage to hit one of them!!!
Had everyone else not been so damn bad too, I'd have assumed that survivor was straight up just trolling and throwing the match but no one on that team had any idea what they were doing...
-
Kindred. It's hit the point where if I'm leveling up a survivor, I just won't play them if they don't have Kindred
I'm almost exclusively a solo queue survivor (tricked my brother into hating himself and buying the game too so I've played a handful of SWF games with baby survivor brother) and I feel paralyzed with indecision without it.
Is someone else going for the save? Is the killer camping? What gens are being worked on? Does this dress make my ass loot fat?
All burning questions that only Kindred can answer!!!
-
I'll do bones as I see them but unless I know a hex is in play, I won't actively seek them out.
The first thing I do when I spawn in is tap a gen to see if Ruin is in play and if it is, I won't touch a gen until I find it. Haunted Ground I'd basically have to stumble upon by accident for me to break it.
-
I think the problem with this kind of quiz is that I know what the questions are hinting for as most are pretty obvious.
This quiz might be useful for a brand new player but even then, I feel like playing as everyone to figure it out yourself is much better.
It did set me up as Plague being my top killer so it's getting something right as she's one of my favorites to play as when I'm looking for fun. But it also had Oni and Leatherface way too low on my list as those are my favored killers when I'm in more of a "play to win" mindset.

I should find their post cause I have a feeling I'm going to be saying this a lot for a few weeks...
Someone made a thread stating that the GG EZ way to do this is to put DS on as well. That counts as making the killer drop you, which counts for the Power Struggle Challenge.
-
As a killer using Nurse's Calling, I respectfully disagree and feel that Self Care is the best perk a survivor can bring. I personally think that you're an absolute fool if you do not have self care as a survivor and make sure to ignore your teammates who wish to heal you so that you can be all red and glowy for...other survivors to see you more clearly.
But yeah, self care is a fine enough perk (when used correctly) but there are better perks, especially when so many people seem to want to do nothing but use self car when a teammate is right next to them. I bring up the Nurse's Calling thing specifically because I've seen that way too many times where a survivor wants to self care at the gen I'm working on instead of letting me heal them and then act as a giant "Come kill me!!!!" beacon for a killer. It's amazing how often I'll sit there and watching someone self care only to have the killer show up and take them out. Had I been healing you, you'd have been healed by the time the killer got here but you HAD to do it yourself like a 3 year old who insists they can dress themselves and end up with their pants on backwards and missing a sock...
-
Someone mentioned in another thread the GGEZ version is to also equip DS as that counts as an escape from the killers grasps
-
The snoot is my aggression button. If it is booped, you will be spared.
-
It's the new hit validation system. Basically on your screen, you see a hit and the game reacts accordingly and then goes to VAR and says LOL JK!!! and rolls back the hit. But it already played the effect and had the blood splatter so the game is hoping you don't notice.
-
I've found higher NOED usage but that's why I do dem bones. It would be nice if the rest of my team pitched in too but I can only control me so whatcha gonna do
-
I've done that twice I think and both times were in anger before I realized "Well that was dumb".
I suppose some people might be vindictive or DC'ing for Hatch but I imagine most are like me and are not thinking very clearly...

on PlayStation the ps4 and ps5 versions are recognized as two different games ... that's why in the ps4 version I have 2000 hours of play and in the ps5 version only 30. plus the trophies have not been transferred!
Huh... that's super weird to me. I wonder why that is the case but yeah, that would explain it then.
-
I was under the impression your account would move over (at least it did for me when I went from Xbox One to Xbox Series X so I have no reason to believe it would be different on Playstation).
That might explain it if you went from PS4 to Series X or PC to Switch or something but Sony to Sony should be the same account
-
I feel like I do a good job of diversifying my perks but I also recognize that I am actively handicapping myself in this game by doing so. There are certain perks that just are better than others and certain perks that synergize with certain killers REALLY well. I imagine I'd get a lot more 4Ks if I ran the Meta stuff because the Meta stuff is meta for a good reason...

I don't wanna say "yes you indeed are an idiot", because that's just wrong and rude.
there is "Use item" which, are item related
"pick item/interactions" picking stuff, doing gens and stuff.
"actions" vaults, pallets etc
So the "Use Items" button isn't just using your items. It's using Generators?
That...makes no sense but I guess a generator is kind of like an item? I'll go make the change now!
EDIT: LOL, I am an idiot :D
There's "Use Item", "Pick Up Item Interactions" and "Actions". I assumed the Pick Up Item Interactions was one statement, as in you use that button to pick things up but I see now that it is likely supposed to be read as "Pick Up Item and/or Interactions"
-
She is not The Entity. She is a normal human girl who, like other normal human girls, likes to walk on cats. That's how you know she's a human girl and definitely not The Entity.
-
Ok, people keep saying to switch the buttons but when I go to the controller screen on Xbox, there are only two options; RB to do "actions" and RB to use items.
There's no customization beyond that that I can see so I could switch actions to something else but then I'd have the same issue, just with a different button.
Am I just an idiot missing this option to customize the buttons more or is this something on all consoles except Xbox?
-
Especially because vaulting with the chains is the slow crawl of a vault so the killer can take their sweet sweet sweet sweet sweet sweet sweet sweet time walking to the other side to smack you in the face
-
I imagine it's situational but here have been my kind of "ground rules" as a solo player
Unless Chain Hunt is starting soon, I leave the box alone. If I am not injured, I will go to the box when it's about halfway-ish through and just work on it right away and let Pinhead either come to me or if he's busy, take out the box before the hunt is a problem.
If I am injured, I will wait until he has downed and is picking someone up before I start to work on it. That way he is forced to either drop the person he has (allowing my team to go get them back up) or the box will be done before the person is hooked so I'll be safe.
-
That's always been the case though. If anything, SBMM might help as in theory it will put brand new survivors with brand new killers but DBD has ALWAYS had an insanely difficult learning curve for the killer side.
The game just doesn't do a very good job of teaching new killers the ins and outs of the position (let alone the individual powers of killers) and is very trial and error for new players unless they go to outside resources to learn. Even then, it's pretty common for there to be at least a week or two of growing pains for brand new killers.
-
With Blackjack! And Hookers!!!
-
I've said before it's my big worry with this SBMM system; if you take a very good killer and put them against very good survivors, the killer is going to get manhandled 9 times out of 10. I've always been RR3 to RR1 in this game as a killer so at least in the games eyes, I'm considered a very good killer skill-wise.
This game can be frustrating enough in high ranks but if this game ONLY gives me those kind of games, I can't imagine I'll keep playing it.
It'll be interesting to see how exactly SBMM ultimately works out. My amount of playing this game has greatly plummeted as it is as I basically only got two kinds of games, curb stomping or getting curb stomped (and while this may come as a shock, just steamrolling survivors isn't all that much fun either) so maybe SBMM will work more in my favor as it "lowers" my skill level with how little I play now.
-
Can it be a Bait & Switch if they said before you could buy him that the voice was removed?
Like...this wasn't some hush hush secret they were keeping. It was in the patch notes available before the DLC went on sale that the lines were removed.

It doesn't change after release. Some people still think Trickster is OP... Like, I think the issue is less the contradicting opinion and more that one side seems to be playing on a different patch of that game.
I was going to mention Trickster being the only one that was fully agreed on as garbage but even he had his handful of "Trickster OP" Threads. If friggin Trickster could get some "OP PLZ NERF" threads, everyone can.
-
I always enjoy BHVR Forums after a killer release as half the forum topics are "X KILLER IS AWFUL WHAT A JOKE!!!!!" and the other half are "X KILLER IS STUPIDLY OP WHAT A JOKE!!!!!"
The only thing that irks me so far about playing him is when they have Ruin and you can't find the stupid ruin bones cause his chains will force you off the gen if you get the yellow thingy but overall, he seems like a middle of the road killer at best. And this is before I have had the chance to play as him, which is usually the best way for me to learn how to best deal with a killer so I expect him to lower a smidge in my rankings once the queues have simmered down and this crashing issue has been fixed and I get a chance to give him a spin.

"People have always been #########" is not the winning argument you think it is
-
As of now, there is no cross progress between systems (so if you have Stranger Things on Playstation, you do not have it on Xbox/Switch/PC).
They've said it's something they want to do but at this point, I wouldn't hold my breath that it'll actually ever happen.
-
It's a major reason I avoid playing as her
She's at a huge disadvantage as it is being a standard M1 killer but having the game go LOL JK to the one thing she can do every once in a while is downright infuriating...
Which sucks cause I think she's super fun to play as but it's not fun to hit people and have nothing happen. Especially if you finally manage to tag someone you've been after for 20 seconds.
-
I've said it before and I'll say it again and maybe I'll even say it one more time! :D
If I ever wise up and quit the game, it won't be because of bugs or balance or changes BHVR makes; it'll be because I finally have had enough of jerks being jerks to me.
There is a lot wrong with this game but people who go out of their way to maliciously make the game absolute Hell for their opponent are going to be the ones that make me say F this ish I'm out.
