  • I had it happen once (though granted, I only played the one game).

I just assumed it was a one time thing or maybe I had bumped something that I didn't see somehow or whatnot. It would be brutal if this turned out to be a bigger bug.

I know people want to get rid of camping Bubba but breaking him doesn't seem like the way to do it BHVR :D

  • 4King the jerk swf group with blood warden. It's why I run BW as I'm still chasing that high of getting a group of jerks get themselves killed because they F'ed Around trying to mock me in the EGC only to Find Out...

Nothing more satisfying than seeing them unhook their buddy with 30 seconds left, t bag me, turn to leave and realize Whoopsy

  • I usually send them back a LOL or a thumbs up emoji or something pending the exact nature of their message. They either never respond or they go nutter butters and that's super entertaining.

  • It's a VERY dilapidated house...

  • To be blunt, he's just not a very good killer unfortunately

I have him in my rotation just because I think he's a fun killer and I love me my pin cushion boi but he's got a passive power that is downright useless against SWFs with even the smallest amount of coordination and his normal power is downright useless in general (the chains are hard to hit on survivors as it is and even if you do manage to hit a survivor, a lot of times it would have been more efficient to just keep with the chase as the RNG God's might decide your chains all spawned through obstacles and snap immediately).

Against solos he can be relatively good but I can (generally) cream a group of solos no matter what killer I'm running. So unless someone REALLY likes Pinhead, there's nothing he really brings to the table that other killers can't do but better.

  • Like any other "voting" thing in this game, it would be easily abused by survivors.

The survivors are having a bad game? Screw it, use the "Get out of the game free" button to leave the game. Sucks to be the killer if they used a good offering or add-ons, the survivors are having a bad time so see ya.

The killer is getting bullied by a SWF Flashlight Squad way above their skill level? You think we're gonna let our chew toy be allowed to just leave the match before we completely break their will to live?!?!?! Perish the thought!!!!

There's four survivors and one killer; the killer is almost always getting the short end of the stick when you start adding voting to the game...

  • What did I do? :(

  • It sucks to have to burn a perk slot for it but it's why I always run Kindred. Camping is too rampant to not have it.

  • I like turtles!

  • They gave a bunch away a few days ago but I'm not sure I'd hold my breath for a big giveaway. I'm guessing it'll be that kind of giveaway until it leaves the store where they just drop random codes in the Forum or Twitter or Streams and you just gotta hope you're fast enough to get it before others do.

  • Ultimately you do you I guess but I would think I'd rather just stop playing the game rather than just constantly play half games.

Not even thinking about the team you're screwing over, it seems incredibly pointless and a huge waste of your own time...

  • Unless you never ever stop playing a game, eventually you're going to stop playing (if for any other reason the game itself will eventually go under).

Don't Sunken Cost yourself into playing a game you don't enjoy anymore. Don't think of it as $100 (or whatever you spent) down the drain but that you spent $100 for thousands of hours of fun but all good things come to an end.

People you is the reason this game is #########. Though forums always uset to be a gathering point for the wors of every community.

Damn, he's seen through my clever ruse!

I'd have gotten away with it if it wasn't for you meddling teens and that mangy dog of yours!!!!

“I’m not actually asking this to get some generic unpractical nonsense answer”

No, you're asking it because you want to get up on a soap box and whine and for some reason have chosen The Basement as the box you want to stand on.

But you got a practical answer anyway!

  • The basement is the killers domain, that's why it exists. If you're a survivor, you need to be aware of where the basement is or you risk getting yourself put into a bad situation that the killer can exploit.

  • *Sad Chainsaw Noises*

  • He's got the same issue as many M1 killers; a power that is high risk, low reward. Using his chains during a chase is essentially useless. They're not easy to even hit a survivor with and even when you do manage to hit someone, they can break so easily if the chains spawn in a bad spot that it is almost always more efficient to not use your chains and just chase like normal.

Chain Hunt can at least be more effective but like most mechanics in this game, they can be hell for solos and a slightly mild irritation for swfs.

Like many M1 killers, he's a killer who can curb stomp survivors who are not very good but I could have curb stomped them with any killer if they're not good. He can't compete against competent groups working together. He's a killer you play as because you enjoy the license more than a killer you play as because he's good.

  • Don't you see, there was never anything special about that shiny rock you found! We told you it was the "Survivor Super Enhancer 5,000" because you wouldn't believe us when we told you that you've had this skill all along right here *points to your heart*.

  • They've said they're working on fixing it but if they haven't managed to fix the pallet fakeout hits by this point, I have zero faith that they'll fix the DH fakeout hits. At this point, I figure this is just more "optimization" promises where they'll talk about how they're totally working on it, pinky promise guyz, and then nothing will ever happen.

At this point as killer, I just assume I didn't get a down and then can get pleasantly surprised if it turns out that I took down the survivor.

  • I'm using them mostly just to get rid of them. On killer, I specifically seek them out to use but on survivor, if I have one, cool if not, whatever.

They're basically useless for a survivor. They're a bigger offering for the killer you're playing with than they are for you as the survivor using it.

  • Maybe I should just copy/paste my post as I figure it'll come up a lot...

BHVR decided that playing as killer wasn't frustrating enough so they decided to add the broken hit validation from pallets to dead hard. So now instead of just getting "You idiots thought you hit the survivor just because we told you that you hit the survivor" fake-out hits on just pallets, now you can get them at any time the survivor is injured…

  • I refuse to play if I don't have Kindred on a character. I feel downright useless and paralyzed with indecision as a solo player without it. It honestly kind of baffles me how fellow solo players can stand to play knowing that they're (potentially) being so damn inefficient with their time and actions...

  • I've considered buying a few of the skins for funys (I've had the characters since I bought the game). I haven't quite decided yet though. I know the devs and mods keep kicking these codes out to people but since I'm on console (and am at work where for some reason it is frowned upon for me to sit on the forum clicking refresh constantly to win a skin for a video game character), I figure I'll either have to decide to buy them or just let them drift off in the wind...

  • I only have 1,864 hours so I'm not allowed to have opinions yet :'(

Feels like it. It’s really jarring and make landing multiple knives at mid to long range basically impossible for controller. I don’t even know why they thought it was a good idea.

Hell, making lands at short range is a pain in the ass with Trickster on console. It is absolutely baffling why BHVR thought this was a good idea as Trickster is useless on the console. He is one of the only killers I downright refuse to use unless my hand is forced with the few Archive challenges and even then, I will just throw the match to get his stupid crap done just so I don't have to play as him again.

Which sucks because the concept and aesthetics and mannerism and everything about the design of the character is top notch. He's just Hell to play as.

  • The devs can still have a bias when buffing/fixing things for the one side (I don't think they have a conscious bias personally but they absolutely have a bias to buff/nerf for lower level play, which is almost always going to be buffs to help baby survivors and nerfs to hurt killers who stomp said baby survivors).

its not an issue with the hit validation, its an issue with the visual feedback we are getting.

if we never got the scream and blood (but no damage actually being taken) on our screen, then i dont think anyone would complain about it nearly as much as they currently do.

    This

Especially with the Dead Hard part. I could accept the pallet one (eventually) just because you kind of knew when it was going to happen. But now at any point in the match, the game might tell you that you hit a survivor and then you didn't. In the hands of a good survivor, Dead Hard was already a moral killer but now those same hands get an extra little salt to throw into the killers wound.

Just...absolutely demoralizing to think you finally took someone down because the game told you that you took someone down and then it tells you never mind.

  • Everything is on fire! Which is pretty standard for DBD...

The event was a'ight. Nothing special, especially if you played last year as it's basically the same thing

The cosmetics are neat looking at least!

Claudette...I'm not sure. I don't think so but PASS

Boom totems are exactly what we expected; in some hands/maps they literally break the game and in other hands, they're kind of useless

Current nerf target seems to have gone back to Bubba as the boon totems are making a lot of killers camp/tunnel and Bubba is the unofficial camp/tunnel killer of choice

    DBD.png

    Have a meme!

  • I'm guessing killers (who camp) do understand it. They just don't care.

  • So you want them to de-active a killer because you don't like them?

He absolutely is a low-tier killer who could use some BHVR love but he's not so bad that BHVR should remove him from the damn game...

[Would you like to know more?]

EDIT: Awww, the Thumbnail isn't working :(

  • Normal tunnelers gonna tunnel but yeah, the boons have kind of forced people who don't tunnel to tunnel. You let an injured person go, they're gonna heal themselves up and be right back in as soon as they get to whatever 1/4 (or 1/2 if it's an indoor multistory map) of the map the boon is in.

People also especially tunnel Mikaela because she's the one likely to have the boon. Killers only have one way to permanently stop the boons and that's by taking out the booner.

  • No logs as I'm on the Series X but joining the chorus of "Medkits be broke yo".

I don't know if it's a coincidence or not but both times it happened to me, I got a skill check as the medkit finished.

  • I'd still really like the same hook counter on killers that the survivors have

A killer that intends to tunnel and whatnot is going to do that regardless. While it doesn't happen a whole lot, when there are multiple BPS in play, I do my very very very best to go for 12 hooks in order (ideally I won't even not put anyone on their death hook) but as we're getting to Hooks 6, 7, and 8, it gets harder and harder to track who I took out and who I haven't (especially if there are people playing the same characters).

  • Maybe I should just copy/paste my post as I figure it'll come up a lot...

  • I hated the serum last event and I have not changed my mind on that. I actively avoid trying to get them in the bloodweb.

Unfortunately the seeds are virtually useless on survivor (and yet still super stingy in giving them out). The only one that really seems to make bank with the seeds is the killer and that's only because you're less likely to get the good hook to be in a F You spot like the far corner of the map or the basement of the temple or something like that.

I just don't understand why survivors don't all get the points if the special generator is done. That would actually make the stupid things worth using...

  • BHVR thought to themselves "You know what isn't frustrating enough? KILLER! How can we make sure to really up that frustration factor?"

But yes, the new and "improved" hit validation is telling you that you cannot trust your eyes and you cannot trust your ears anymore in this game. But now instead of being contained to just pallets, any time at any point in the game when chasing an injured survivor, it might decide that your swing didn't actually count so sucks to be you.

  • Even Self Care is fine when it came to juggling because SC takes 32 seconds a pop to do. That's 32 seconds of you not doing anything useful (and 32 seconds for my Nurse's Calling to find you). That also only affects you so unless all four survivors are running self care (which is highly unlikely), juggling survivors running self care is still very much in play.

    I don't think that's a good change.

That's not addressing the core issue.

See, I disagree. The Core Issue seems to be that survivors want a chance to counter it (they've had all match to counter it but that's a different argument ;D). Finding out that the killer has NOED without having to get hit gives them exactly that. They have the opportunity now to determine what they should do about the NOED if they didn't spend the time during the game to clear out dem bones.

I actually find it works better against higher ranked teams, because they are more likely to stand around and bully you (the inexperienced just leave, quite sensibly). Plus, if you deliberately make sure your hat person is on second (not third) hook when BW activates, they usually believe a rescue and complete 4 person escape is possible. Deliberately not downing (but continuing to chase) the hatted person in EGC also can work, because it encourages time-wasting shenanigans from all survivors.

Certainly worse things you could try with Bloodwarden. I'm one of like...five people who use BW as well but I generally don't try to game BW like that as I have found that survivors know what you're doing.

However, you are also right that the bully squads are the ones it does always seem to work on (which is exactly why I run BW). So your trick might work well against a group of jerks :D

  • I'd be shocked if that would work against anyone with at least a little bit of experience

If the killer is just standing over a downed person waiting for the timer to tick down at the EGC, most survivors know what you're doing and will react accordingly (either waiting to unhook the person to make sure they can still escape or just peace out and leave the poor bastard to die).

  • To me, there is only one change needed to NOED; when the last gen is popped, the "exposed" status effect appears on the survivors right away.

Gives the survivors the chance to realize what's going on without having to get stabbed to find out. They can then choose what to do about it (go totem hunting before trying the gates and hope they don't run into the killer or try to hit the gate and GTFO or something else).

  • I find it's more fun to do that but if your goal is to win, going for 12 hook is basically a Death Sentence for your win chances

  • If I hear the Boon Totem go off, I have to assume they have Circle of Healing and unfortunately what that means is juggling survivors is no longer an option. If I let the injured person go, they're gonna heal up and be right back on the horse without needing to find a teammate or medkit or anything else that would normally be required to heal.

People who previously tunneled/camped are going to keep it up I imagine but now even "Nice" killers are forced to do it if they even a chance to win

Why not just run a instadown Killer or anti-chase Killer?

Because I like to swap out killers. I rarely play the same killer more than twice in a row and I can only play with Leatherface and Oni so many times before I'll get bored of it.

I shouldn't have to by default dump 3/4s the killer roster in this game because BHVR finds new and unique ways to stack the deck against the killers.

I got this frustrated with the game with the pallet drop validation BS but was able to get over it since I could at least predict when that was going to happen and just kind of roll with the punches. I'm not sure that's going to happen with the DH version though as I can't predict that and I can't do anything about it. DH was frustrating enough in the right hands and this has just increased that by tenfold. Just...not fun and is fast becoming not worth the pure frustration and anger it is causing...

  • After the day I had today playing, I'm not 100% sure. It's been nothing but the game telling me I hit someone only for it to tell me never mind and Boon Totems making it so that I have to go after just one person until I down them or lose them and attempting to juggle, one of the only ways to really put pressure on survivors, doesn't work anymore.

I even threw NOED on for a few games just to try to take that junk out of the game but then it just became five generators of me getting made to look like an idiot and then I'd kill 1-4 people with NOED.

I just don't know what BHVR wants from me anymore. The deck was already pretty stacked against killers versus good survivors and BHVR seemed to be dead set on stacking that deck against killers as much as humanly possibly in this last chapter/hotfix patch.

  • It's got the same issue as a bunch of perks in this game; it's so situational that you can go multiple games with basically playing three perks as it never makes an impact

When it does come in handy, it REALLY comes in handy. But most people won't trade off the nine games where it does nothing for that one game where it might save a game.

  • Sorry not sorry *Shrugs*
