  • AI tutorial bots.

Its a step closer to a genuine solo play AI custom game experience so yes I'm excited.

Also the nemesis looks great and is the first DLC since slinger to realy draw me in, I'm looking forward to this one.

  • Don't you think this is all a bit "sky is falling" overreaction.

Yed the idea irks me to but there is currently no details about it at all outside of a simple anouncement as it being part of the roadmap.

Like in most cases of general social behaviour, in the absence of facts people start making up their own things to go with. Often these ideas are alarmist, knee jerk and based on emotion rather than rational thought.

So lets lay out some rational thinking.

Currently it feels like reports for bad behaviour have no effect, this may fix that but given you never know the outcome of a report anyway you aren't going to know anyway

There must be fricken thousands of these things all the time and sorting through the legit from the garbage is probably a monumental task, this system would save time and money on developer end

A system that could reliably identify the real complaints from the fake would be ideal

Hopefully the automated system wouldn't have power of judgment, rather only flag and escalate a repeat complaint reciever for further scrutiny.

The system relies on the community to police itself and lets face it a large proportion of that community are childish, tantrum throwing, sore loser, idiots... you know who you are, you may lie to yourself but deep down you know.

How well will it filter out things people complain about but aren't actually bannable offences, camping, tunneling, bm'ing, flashlight clicking.

BHVR updates are kinda known to be buggy and if this thing can ban you then buggy bans aint a great thing

Will it scrutinize repeat complaint makers as it would complaint receivers.

These are points I would like to see addressed and until they are I have no choice but to reserve judgment and see what they come up with.

If you have concerns great, if they are legitimate great, if you can deliver those concerns in a rational manner then you are more likely to be listened to.

I think it'd be awesome to have a random opening each time you launch the game.

The ability to choose a DLC specific theme would be great. But I do really love the atmosphere of the grim original, moreso in its updated form.

  • Update just had the same error on mcmillian placed a trap under the window in the trailer vault.

Survivor got caught and I couldn't hit them with my weapon or pick them up. Just swing through them or give me the vault prompt.

  • ugh

people won’t be happy till they nerf every killer into the ground, then all the complainers can feel powerful endlessly looping all the generic no variation M1 killers.

powerful killers make the game scary and compelling. There should be more of them not less.

  • Nice poem.

serious amount of whaaaah generated from this. Love it.

  • I wouldn't say a joke but deep wounds really is a weak effect. The name conjures up a idea that the effect just doesn't deliver on.

Nothing to be scared of with deep wounds.

I wouldn't buy or play it. One of the main draws of DBD for me is to play against other humans who have to make choices. I have played multiplayer games with bot adversaries and find them to be boring and predictably easy. I doubt DBD will ever venture into this realm, but hey if they do - have fun.

To each their own. I don't crave a pvp experience I'd rather a thematic horror survival game experience. You're right that it would never replace a human opponent but I sometimes just enjoy having a muck about in solo mode. Its what often keeps me coming back to games like DBD. Itsd especially true with game that are a dumpster fire multiplayer like F13, the solo play i sall that keeps me having the occasional game of that.

  • @Jasix said:

That would take SO much resources that DBD would have to literally sell it as a DLC option for quite a bit of money. Have you ever played against/with bots - even the best ones are stupidly easy to beat or so stupid they are of no help.

Any type of bot play would have to be treated like customs - No BP earned and no ability to complete dailies/rift challenges. This would be so easily exploitable otherwise.

If you played killer you would easily kill everyone even with decent bots. Who would choose the survivor perks you would go against? Seems kinda OP if you get to choose each survivor perk - as then you would know how to easily counter them.

As a survivor you would easily escape the killer. And who would choose the killer and their perks? Seems a bit much being able to choose the killer and their perks.

    Seems super boring to me.

Then don’t buy or play it.

A bot will never replace the capability of a human player but plenty of online pvp games have a solo mode and they are generally fun to play.

Obviously it would have to be a custom game set up with no progression attached to it. The goal isn’t to replace the main game but rather supplement it with the option for solo play.

If it was a dlc add on I’d buy it.

No, you should play like vs any stealth killer (there are far better ones) and not get caught out of position - MM needs to literally breathe on your neck to tombstone you.

Memorise locker placements and loop MM like normal, once you're out of pallets / windows, hop into the closest locker since you would go down anyway.

Both of that is very easy to do vs purely M1 killer like Myers, if you fail at that, you deserve to be tombstoned once he got so close to you and charged it for ages losing gen pressure not injuring / hooking anyone.

    Exactly this.

I played a couple of tombstone Myers last night, was able to stalk up to max in just over 3 gens as the survivors were really unobservant and let me do it. One guy did a great job of breaking LOS but his team literally focused on the gens even with me just staring at them.

One guy butt danced at me for ages after a pallet and I just drained him dry. But no Micheal is apparently the problem.

The same argument over and over again, killer X does this and it means I have to be observant, or cautious, switch up my playstyle or even, god forbid, think!

"I can't just mindlessly loop around and around the same rock and then drop a pallet rinse and repeat, boo hoo. The killer is unbalanced and has no counterplay." Ugh.

Tombstone Myers is the most thematic Myers there is, stalk all game and then go for the quick end of movie kills. If you are observant and play well he shouldn't reach tier 3 till almost game end. At that point you should have racked up a healthy load of BP's that not escaping really aint that detrimental to anything other than the ego.

  • Have you unlocked any perks from the shrine or are you starting from scratch?

Wraith and Trap are good options but honestly, you have bubba so I say start with bubba.

Firstly he has all the elements of any m1 killer so you can use him to learn the basics. His chainsaw is great and can teach you tight turning and best ways to maneuver around loops for the auto down.

Last, but definitely not least BBQ and Chili, is the perk of all perks if you are starting out as killer.

The tracking is great to give you an idea about where survivors typically are. All survivors tend to do the same thing most of the time, so once you get a feel for it you don't need the tracking that often and kinda just know where to most likely find someone after a hook. Its still good though.

The blood points bonus will lessen the grind of every other killer you play. BBQ&C is the first perk I focus on getting and unlocking on any killer. It'll let you unlock those perks for the fun builds quicker.

Play Bubba, unlock BBQ and then start experimenting with other killers. Get BBQ on other killers, then max out the one you enjoy the most. Every time you max out a killer without BBQ you basically pollute the bloodweb with often useless perks. Get BBQ, unlock the bonus bloodpoints on everyone and then profit with faster leveling across the board.

Use your BBQ killers to farm up BP's for other killers to level off of and get a good collection of perks for them earlier. Basically have fun builds for multiple killers in half the time. All thanks to Bubba and his BBQ.

  • No just without people with your kind of attitude.

If we had bots then folks wouldn't have to spend time online with someone like yourself, who (from the aggressive tone here) seems to be here only to tell other players to "Git gud".

This is the part of the comminuty that people are getting tired of. I'd love to be able to play a few games against AI when there is nothing but take it all to seriously, no fun, players online. I don't play to sweat every match, sometimes I might but for the most part no.

If I could rack up a custom game against AI for a laugh every now and then it would lengthen the lifepsan of this game and I think that's true for many casual players as we are all getting a lil tired of the overly competitive no fun "git gud" crowd.

Not survivos, but many players do.

  • The information is a boon and sometime I use it.

The big draw however is 75K BP's rather than 30K BP's at game end.

There is plenty of counter play and perks to counter it.

    It really isn't OP.

  • There is nothing to solve.

In all honesty learn to play around it and if you don't succeed then get over it and queue again.

  • Painful to play and play against ugh.

I think he's a lackluster killer with a lackluster concept and a look that really doesn't fit with the game aesthetic.

  • @MochelMyersWetcave said:

I like facing good Hags, when my other teammates are also descent.

This is usually not the case in Solo Q, so you just die even when the Hag puts only one Trap around the Hook.

Hag is fine but People need to learn how to counter her.

A good hag will only put one trap near a hook.

  • @Laluzi said:

I think we need more killers whose playstyle and counterplay are really different from the usual formula, not less. I love Hag and would hate to see her get the Freddy treatment where she's standardized into a more normal killer. Wouldn't care if she gained a restriction where traps couldn't exist within x meters of an occupied hook, but I'd hate significant nerfs beyond that. She plays really unique, survivors have to play really unique against her, and apart from the purples, she's got a great spread of addons.

    Exactly this.

  • Exactly solo really isn't that bad at all.

I'm now the only one of my gaming buddies who still plays on and off and playing solo is scarier than playing swf.

Because basically unless you get a 1000's hours pro killer whom are very rare, its way to easy to escape as a team who knows what they are doing.

Solo puts a bit of fear back in the game, you don't always have the info, you can't always trust the actions of your peers. Its far more survival horror than playing with friends and a better game as a result.

Solo survivor should be approached as playing for the thematic experience of trying to survive a horror movie, which is what the game is about.

The gamer e-sports chase and gen simulator, "I wanna win", crowd are the ones ruining the thematic aspect in the name of imagined balance.

  • Killer is meant to be OP

That's the whole point of the game. Try desperately to escape from the scary killer.

  • Its market research.

Would you buy the can of beans with the picture of the beans on it or would you buy the one with the bunny rabbit on it?

Which one do you think encapsulates the beans?

So does the Twins grotesque visage fit the game? Do you find it to offputing to buy or play them?

Would you like your killers to look like zombified corpses aka the Plague or angsty rejects from a drag act aka the Trickster?

    etc etc...

  • Given the grind I'd also say Leatherface.

BBQ & Chilli is a mad perk for getting through your bloodweb and is just good tracking too, as a bonus.

Also he's a generally fun killer just to run around with.

  • I think people joke a lot about a Scooby Doo vibe because of the run in circles around the same bit of wall/trash meta of the game.

Chases can sometime feel like that and it undermines the thematic aspects of the game.

  • @Moone said:

I just got to ask, why do people still make these type of posts.

"We're gonna put that win right here... right on the fridge.. for all to see. Mummy and Daddy are so proud of their big boy."

    That's why.

  • They are not mad at you they are mad at themselves and lack the emotional maturity to deal with it.

Its been game after game with massive sore loser bad winner cry babies tonight. Some nights are just like that.

If there was an offline mode I'd hit up a few more games away from the bad gamer crowd but their isn't so I'm calling it a night.

Last three nights have been great to play, tonight left a lot to be desired.

  • The thing about T-bagging is its you upsetting yourself over it not them.

In your head you create the scenario of being taunted by another player and that can get to you after a while.

Truth is its really nothing, some guy is mashing buttons on his keyboard/console and I'm supposed to feel bad or insulted by it.

I say mash away. You look ridiculous, are announcing to the game that you're a twat and its your own equipment taking the wear and tear while you fail the gain distance after a pallet or waste your own time at the exit gate.

Its the digital equivalent of saying I'll show this guy I'll slap myself in the face repeatedly that'll teach him.

The flip side is if you get annoyed by it then it generates tilt and you don't make decisions clearly while annoyed.

Don't get angry just pity them.

Yeah I don't really like playing against the button mashers either but not because it upsets me, it just means I'm gaming with people who are not worth gaming with, which brings down the game experience overall.

  • If you go through the thread and others you can see lot of the spite that the mention of SWF creates.

You have killer biased players crying foul because they are either

    1. tired of toxic groups or claim all groups are toxic
    2. can't or don't want to deal with the difficulty of a coordinated group of survivors
    3. need to massage their ego after a loss by claiming unfair SWF
    4. mistake all coordinated play for SWF even though as solo with experience its not hard to see what you need to do
    5. blame swf rather than looking at their own mistakes game wise.

Then you've got all these survivor biased players posting

    1. The typical 'Git Gud" posts, sometimes veiled as a sentence of friendly advice but read between the lines
    2. solo is horrible so why not swf
    3. given how horrible solo is it justifies swf in all forms even obnoxious bully groups
    4. killers only want easy games
    5. "Not all SWF" post where people who play with friends are tired of being the scapegoats for bad behaved players in general grouped or otherwise

Basically as I've said most swf groups aren't toxic, there to bully you or unpleasant to play against. In fact many are overly altruistic and get killed trying to group rush a hook while not focusing on their objective.

However the increased coordination between players, compounded by folks on coms, can greatly ramp up the difficulty for one half of the player base. To the point it can feel completely futile to play against it. Not all players are going to want this level of ramp up (I personally don't seek it out being a casual player) and many others will use it as an excuse not to improve.

Its also a tool used by more obnoxious players to improve their chances of successfully griefing other players in game.

These things combined make SWF groups a much maligned scape goat for the majority of complaints on both sides of the board.

There are some legitimate balance issues surrounding it though but how do you curb them without really screwing over solo players, its a tricky one.

  • Yes very much so.

    I think its totally doable.

F13 offline mode is often more enjoyable than the main game simply by how buggy and dated it is.

DBD could easily have a custom game mode that featured bots.

The way to minimize the cut to online players would be that custom AI games would only have what you've unlocked available for play, this includes perks, characters etc. There is no earning of bloodpoints or rank etc.

Its purely game access based off your character save file.

You set killer or survivor AI difficulty or maybe personality bold/fearful, aggressive/defensive etc and then play.

If you want to earn rank, BP's, shards or items you gotta get online. You want to try a new killer you just bought or a meme build or just muck about then offline mode is available.

So many online multiplayer games have this element, it never replaces the challenge of PvP, but its often fun and good practice.

  • Wouldn't say worst year,

Although can't say I'm thrilled by the most recent DLC's haven't bought anything since slinger.

Maybe RE will be an improvement.

(To clarify silent hill wasn't a terrible DLC, just I'm not a fan and traffic cone head is a dumb concept. I never found the original SH game particularly good, scary or compelling. In fact the whole pyramid head is a mental manifestation of his own guilt is basically a re-wrapping of the incredibly lame "it was all a dream" trope, its lazy story telling at best. Also the movies are terrible, like horror power rangers in rubber suits bad).

I'm hoping for a chapter I feel I want to buy and a killer who isn't lame. Lets face it All Kill chapter is just gut wrenchingly awful.

  • To play devil's advocate here.

The company charging for licensed content is hardly pay to win. Perks being tied to characters is a little pay to win but you aren't just buying perks you are buying game content. Expecting more from a DLC is what we should do, its should have killer + survivor + themed map at minimum.

When its just new killer/survivor with great perks then yes I'd say there is now a bit of a pay to win for good perks scenario going on.

Now the caveats here are that this game is been out for a while so a discounted base game and perhaps some of the older DLC's should be a thing by now and at least in my region it is. Integration of some older DLCs into a base game purchase would also be a good idea given the game's age.

Perhaps its time to start making older DLC perks unlocked from the beginning to lessen the new player grind.

These are improvements I think would go far.

Sadly online gaming models are built on grind, keeping players online is the idea and the way to make that happen is grind, so you're not likely to see grindy elements change much. Its why deep down I really hate this trend of making games multiplayer online dependent.

  • So SWF isn't really the massive problem people seem to make it out as, that said however you can't deny just how much easier this game is when you are on coms within a team.

The argument could be made that being able to communicate directly as a coordinated team can render the game almost an impossible endeavor for a large number killer players. When you mix in some perks that can share information and you have a scenario that can border on broken in terms of team coordination.

This potential ramp up in game difficulty for one side creates a lot of resentment. This is not helped by poor matchmaking and you have a scenario where casual mid-range killers (probably the majority of the player base lets be honest, though I have no real data on that), have a game where they basically get 1 hook and spend the rest of the time just running around feeling useless.

Add with how unpleasant this community can be and you have a team of prats generally being obnoxious in the face of other players and then hurling abuse at them for what was a grossly one sided set up to begin with.

Not every SWF is like this in fact I'd say most aren't, but you get enough of them that you start to think "I don't like SWF" They then become the culprit of all the game's ills and an easy scapegoat anytime you have a bad game.

"That game sucked it must have been a toxic SWF on coms rather than my own mistakes"

When my group plays online we play without coms, its made the game more fun overall as it can be too easy to coordinate and outplay the killer when you have constant updates from your teammates in real time. It takes some mad killer skills to counter that, which most of the player base (myself included) don't really possess or at least can't be motivated to pull out of the bag every time you face a SWF team.

There is nothing wrong with gaming with your friends but you gotta understand how one sided it may be in this scenario.

That's not really a fair argument because anyone with over 50 hours in DBD has dropped all the scary aspects of it. That's how it is with any horror game but one of the reasons DBD is so successful is the fun aspect of outplaying the killer in chases. Spirit just takes that away for most people because there are no hints to what she's doing which makes it impossible to outplay. You're only just guessing.

I kind of disagree with you there though.

The scare factor is not lost even after a few 100 hours in this game. Its just heavily diluted because its so easy to predict the killer for most of the roster.

A lot of the 'counter play' is purely abusing smaller hit boxes and squeezing every drop out of the mechanics of perks. There is very little truly 'mind game-able' parts of the map making most games not particularly surprising or scary.

I wish there were more killers who could negate the expected rather than killers I can just run around and around the same wall to avoid. I want to flee from the killer because they are a threat, not to show them that I'm better at running around the same rock than they are.

That's what I mean by survival horror vs e-sports mentality.

The spirit and nurse are great because they undermine this very formulaic predictable gameplay that most players develop over time. Formulaic predictable play is never scary but killers who can circumvent that can make for some very intense games and are inherently scarier as a result.

  • @GannTM said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2130829#Comment_2130829

The mind games at tiles like T L walls and shack are guesses but it is equal fair guess for both sides. It gives both sides a chance to choose something based off their surroundings and the side that outplays the other gets rewarded. With Spirit, the guessing game is entirely in her favor because survivors have no information while the Spirit has all the information to work with. This video explains it better than me:

    https://youtu.be/WBotva4KIK4

That's not necessarily a bad thing though. I like the spirit both playing and versing her simply because she's scary.

I don't know where she is, but I know my mindgames and I know where I want to run and I hope to choose right.

With the majority of other killers in the game predicting them and avoiding them is so easy that its a no brainer. Extending chases really isn't that hard.

The fear of the unknown when facing spirit makes her one of the scariest killers to face, even when she's not in the hands of a super player.

Its kind of like jump scare Myers, on the right map there is no warning and it keeps me looking over my shoulder the whole game.

Its survival horror and the spirit and nurse are probably the most survival horror of all the killers, mostly given their ability to pop up beside you and negate the mind numbing looping element of the game. The rest is just e-sports horror wannabe, which frankly isn't as fun.

  • I think its because its a poor concept. I just doesn't feel dark and gritty like the rest of DBD, its to bright and poppy.

Why a K-pop star? I feels so "lets try and corner more asian gamer market" with the cartoon anime esq. intro etc etc. Its hammy and kinda poorly done.

His aestheitc is jarring when compared to the rest of the aesthetic of the game. From the neon colorising to the sparkly glow daggers it all just doesn't fit.

Even the clown's elephant suit has a kind of downtrodden sadness about it. Its almost sickeningly depressing in what a joke it all is and thus still kinda fits with the gritty nature of the game.

No part of pink and purple glow bat with lip gloss says dark and gritty. Something has been lost.

Even the menu music has gone from a subdued dark guitar to a synth drum beat that sounds like something a 10 year old would make on his laptop with a free online music maker.

So from his jarring colorising, rediculous sounds and animations, and button mash gameplay he just feels out of place and incredibly underwhelming.

Basically if the Trickster can be a DBD killer so can Spongbob square pants, Gumby and Pinochio.

I would like an AI killer.

Smart, methodical, not purposely trying to make our game miserable. What's not to like?

Yeah, I mean as I've said it will never replace a human opponent, but the mobile AI is not bad and I for one would like a game against some immersive AI that flee from you when chased as survivor and hunt you down when killer without resorting to just staring at the hooked person for 2 mins.

I'd say every 1-3 in 10 games are really fun in DBD, the rest often feel like I wasted my time online or at worst a just frustrating or highly toxic. Thats a really low level of customer satisfaction with a product. (At least for me personally). Typically it results in my having 1-2 games and then quitting to play or do something else.

It also limits my motivation to really invest anything in this game, I don't buy a lot of cosmetics or even really devote a lot of time to completing rifts anymore because I really don't care enough given the low level of game satisfaction.

I'd probably sink a whole evening into DBD again if I could hit up a few online games interdispersed with some muck around matches against AI. I'd probably get more into it and blow more money on cosmetics too. As it stands right now I don't feel motivated to do those things because often I log on and then don't really have a lot of fun, so log off.

Also when tilted I would never feel the need to take out a bad game on my next games worth of players because frankly that's a crappy thing to do and just perpetuates the cycle of toxicity, but even I have succumbed to that toxic state of mind once or twice. I could beat up some AI's for fun and then go back and try to play a more balanced competitive game against real people in a better state of mind.

AI works in the mobile version though. Didn’t play it myself but I heard it actually works pretty well. (And I am pretty sure they are eventually introducing AI for custom matches in the future.)

Absolutely, it doesn't replace a human oponent but its good enough. Its totally doable and anyone who nay says that really has a narrow view of what's possible.

Ignore end game chat - it serves no purpose. Why do you give a flying crap what strangers think of you? No seriously... just turn it off - makes playing way more fun.

The endgame chat never gets to me, rather here it confirms my decision to quit that game was the correct one.

I'm tired of being forced to play this game against random douches online.

When the rest of my mates aren't playing but I feel like a game of DBD it would be nice to have an offline play option so I could get my fun in without having to roll the douchebag dice.

    Its why I enjoy battlefront.

  • The simple answer for myself is no.

The not so simple answer is I don't enjoy the game in red ranks.

I'm not a competitive player, I rarely make "meta" builds, or min max in games or even really care about ranking myself against others. This isn't e-sports for me but it is for many others and most of those guys are in purp/red ranks.

I like immersive play, powering through the gens and then smashing my way out the gate is really not that fun. Sweating to stop a team from powering through the gens and smashing out the gate while they flashlight click, butt dance and try to prolong chases inching every scrap out of hit boxes, tiles and perks also isn't that fun.

I like it when I'm scared of the killer as survivor and when the survivors are scared of me as killer. That's what the theme of this game is about but only every one in ten games is like that, less so in red ranks.

Red ranks is meta and its bland, its rinse and repeat play and its always the same. Its a bit like that board game where all the players have figured out the "I win" strategy, so everyone goes for it and the person who gets it first always wins. You eventually get bored of the game and move on because its stale.

This game is stale at red ranks.

This game shines at low ranks because people make mistakes, are afraid of the killer, run non-meta builds that can catch you off guard and generally is more casually fun to play.

There must be a lot of high rank killers floating in the greens because some of the best killers I've played against turn out to be green or even yellow rank and they are rarely smug or crappy about it post game. There is a benevolence at low ranks because people aren't lording it over each other, they just seem to be playing. Higher ranks in DBD can be a toxic quagmire that I just don't encounter that often in the more casual lows.

Also I'm not that good, but I've been playing for long enough to catapult myself into the reds if I go for the kills/escapes and then its just not that fun. Because that's what rank represents, not skill but time spent online. Many people don't realize this probably because their ego won't allow them to.

I'd love there to be AI to play against so I wouldn't have to search for games against other people who aren't taking it so seriously or have their validation of self worth tied to the outcome of a video game. This is supposed to be fun but can be unbelievably unpleasant, particularly in the red ranks.

So you either throw games every now and then to stay low or you get high up and then quit till reset. If I have a couple of good games (and I don't mean wins I mean fun immersive play with other people doing the same), then usually I call it a night, because I like to finish on a high note and they can be few and far between in this gaming community.

So no I don't belong in the reds because I think this game sucks in the reds, but its pure gold elsewhere.

I like this new menu. It's very aesthetically pleasing even though I'm not a fan of the rest of the Chapter's theme.

Hey each to their own mate, my dislike of it doesn't undermine your like of it and vice versa, I just wish we could choose menus from a list, I miss some of the better menus for days past and sometimes you really want to just dump one.

  • Sorry to hear about the crappy game experience.

I'll say this as a predominately killer player, that games like this are becoming more and more frequent.

Now I play about 1/10th the amount I used to because frankly its to much a time investment in DBD to do well enough to have fun (I also have a job and a life that eats up a lot of that time).

I still get some enjoyment out of it but I think that's due to the lack of playtime meaning I am now, myself rather heavily smurfed. Sitting around the greens where the game is typically much less sweaty and a lot more fun. I don't need to stack gen regression and typically don't sweat, everyone can live for all I care as long as the game is thematically fun (that's my take).

I've been getting a lot of these smurfy feeling sweat squads who appear really intent on not playing and just being asses, they die eventually, but I'm getting tired of having to police my own games. Its just not fun.

I'd like to see custom AI implemented into the game so you could port in a few bots to a custom game and get some time in if its not a great night. New players, or new killers/survivors could get some practice in on their own terms.

It wouldn't replace the main game as the AI would likely be nowhere near as interesting to face, but it would be something.

Its what keeps me playing games like battlefront even when queue times are so long its just not worth it.

Someone looping 3 times around the same loop doesn't know how to loop properly but whatever. You think yo uare talking to a lambda survivor lol, but you don't xD

Re-read that sentence and see if you can make sense out of it.

All I have to say to that is smol pp energy..

Because you get comments like this.

I usually have the chat off because most often its negative or just garbage, sadly.

  • Only if there is a particular cosmetic you want, otherwise I'm not sure if its worth the grind.

I wanted the docs bloody lab coat so Doc 2

I like Myers bloody knife so Myers 1

Might get clown to 3 because the bloody face kinda fits and is also creepy and not over done. Most of the prestige bloody outfits are just way over the top and not worth the effort. IMHO.

  • With all the (largely imagined) LGBT controversy surrounding this update, a bunch of poor taste closet gags went through my mind when I read the tag line.

  • I think like all online communities, the game is littered with people who are bad sports, sore losers and bad winners.

I think a lot of things that are kind of annoying mechanics get called "toxic" because people find them annoying and by de-facto attribute their use to malicious toxic behaviour rather than just gameplay.

I don't think this community is any more or less toxic than most online games but rather its an asymmetric chase simulator which taps into some very raw centers of our brains that are often linked with emotion.

Inability to keep that emotion in check, along with delusional ego about game skill, means people fly off the handle about any minor thing and claim it as toxic.

Typically toxic bevaiour is overt, its very obvious, obnoxious, and its often targeted. A toxic game in DBD is often a very different beast to a competitive one but both tend to get lumped in together.

Often because players are upset at a loss or want to rub a win in some else's face. That kind of post game interaction is toxic, even if the behaviour in the preceding game wasn't.

You can sometimes get a run of competitive games and toxic games, which can make a play session kinda miserable and that's when this game falls flat. This is especially true later in the evening against SWF teams. As group mentality can alone induce a bullying culture. Its why you often see this negative behaviour expressed on the survivor side more commonly. There is a team to back up your bad sportsmanship so a lower barrier to indulge in it.

Not all SWF/coordinated teams are toxic, not all competitive or 'sweaty' players are toxic, neither is flashlight saves, head on, gen rushing, looping, keys, MORI, camping, tunneling, its just game mechanics, some good some bad.

Foregoing playing your objective to constantly harass and taunt another player, sandbagging, post game abuse, DM abuse, sore loser'ism and bad winners, excessive BM'ing as a taunt, hacking, lag switching, abusing exploits, this is toxic.

  • You had a good match but didn't escape why not just enjoy it.

NOED is only an issue if it undermines your expectation to escape. The counter is cleanse bones, play very carefully if its up and realise that you may die and that's really not a huge deal.

    Anything goes till game end.

If I run the killer all game and then get downed due to NOED I just sit back and say well I did my best.

9 times out of 10 all NOED does is shorten the end of an already forgone conclusion of a game, you either lost it and get one kill, or you've won it and only need one down to finish it off.

Its only a really bad team that all get eaten in endgame by NOED trying to save that one person on hook turning a 3 escape into a 4K.

  • Yeah if its a wrecking snowball typically I just farm points for myself. Let em have the gens its only a game so who gives a #########.

The only time I consider DC'ing (I'm not condoning it) is when you get a grief squad who just want to waste your time and not do their objective. (this is different from people who want to farm and is often obviously so).

Even then I typically go stare at a corner and make a cup of tea/have a beer. I'll pop the exit gates when the time comes and we can all get less than 10'000 points because my queues are instant so :P

  • I hate the "its not fun" arguments for nerfs because often its not fun means its not easy and I have to switch up my gameplay.

All the killers listed can negate the abuse hitbox mechanic by hugging the same rock loop play easily. That's is the number one go to of 90% of the survivors I play against and with. They never switch it up then cry when it doesn't work. (I'm not saying you are doing this but it is an ongoing trend with this topic).

Try something different, play a lil more cautious, use some planning and learn the maps. Don't try the mindless loop play.

Because let me tell you running around the same rock 3 times ala Scooby Doo is not fun or interesting.

There is nothing wrong with these killers, what is wrong is that people want easy mindless games and will quit if they perceive they won't get them.

If many folks had it their way all killers would be generic M1 chasers who could be infinitely looped.

  • Yeah its not a swift end to the game so its unecessary.

But the egc is going to close it out long before you bleed out and that doesn't take 5 mins. Although if you are in dying state its does take longer I think its 4 mins.

I've lost count of the amount of times I've had to wait out an egc as killer because the survivors just won't leave. I'm not complaining I could go chase them out but often I'm maxed out on chase so there is no point going to the gate other than to get em out or watch them BM.

I break stuff (pallets/walls etc), spam my power for deviousness points or go make a cup of tea/crack another beer.
