Take an objective approach.
To do well killer is often just sweaty, there is no down time on the killer side of the match. On survivor you are holding m1 on a gen, stealth'ing out, hiding, hanging on a hook or lying on the ground. The high intensity focus comes from chases and occasional skill checks and you are sharing that between 3 other players.
As killer you are chasing, hunting or defending its always alert and active for the whole game. About the only slight reprieve is if everyone stealth out to heal and even then you are trying to find them to interrupt that asap.
So if I'm on match 10 as killer and I've been chasing sweat squads for the last 3 games I'll probably play a campy game as its less for me to focus on. I'll break out a basement build, or an endgame noed build because I can get hooks and even kills with less intense focus and its often a much more enjoyable game (for me).
Yes you can meme around or just chill but you will often get quickly wrecked doing that and then abused as being trash for doing so.
I realise its not much fun being camped as survivor, but if you work together you can get hook saves from a camper. I find camping pays off most often because people are kinda foolish and/or selfish when it comes to couterplay against camping.
Its not malicious, its not personal, its just business.
-
Yeah I feel like I burned through the killer archives in about two sessions but am now slogging through a mountain of survivors ones this time around.
That said I haven't bothered to actually count them so it could just be me.
I'd say survivor queues are not based on archives though I'd say the amount of tension and sweat it takes to play killer often turns a lot of players off it, so the population is heavily skewed.
There are many games where you are supposed to be this powerful scary monster but in reality can be easily wrecked and evaded by a coordinated team. Nothing worse than a feeble antagonist who is really no threat.
Just compare the Galactic Empire to the First Order, Galaxy crushing authoritarian militant state vs incompetent collection of feeble comedy zealots.
-
or you could...
Take some time to observe the killer and predict them more accurately.
Playing a little more cautiously and stealthily, switching up tactics in response to what you find in game rather than expecting the same thing to work all the time, ie mindless looping.
Indulge in the increased tension of facing a spirit that is often lacking when playing other more easily countered killer powers.
Realise that its only good spirits who tend to wreck face and that can be said of any killer.
Keep a keen ear for her phasing and be more cautious about leaving a gen sooner to avoid her rather than pushing to the last minute into chase.
Understand that its just a game and doesn't matter and try to have fun anyway. (I realise this last one is hard and we all fail at it sometimes but its better than throwing the game away for your team by rage quitting).

I've had very few miserable games against spirits, unless they tunnel off hook and camp, i usually have a good time
Me to, I find the mix up in game play intense, sometimes you don't know and have to guess, especially against a good spirit it puts fear back into the game.
Its like running from a good deathslinger you gotta make this count to not get hit, the tension is palpable.
So much better than running a bubba around the same rock 4 times, which is basically just abusing hitbox mechanics.

Just play spirit any way you want and realize that bad players are gonna act crap no matter what you do.
Its better not to bother with it, than get hung up on it.
Report the really bad abuse (death threats, racist etc) and then move on, abusing someone over a game says more about the abuser than the abused, it says that this person is too childish to play games with others.
I enjoy playing spirit too, I often run stridor as it complements her power well, but sometimes it can work against you on multi level maps like the game. I'm in the middle of getting prestige 2 so have practically no perks whatsoever at the moment but still playing her for fun.
Running tier 2 BBQ, Tier 3 sloppy, tier 1 pop and switching between, tier 1 NOED and tier 2 devour.
Got a team last night that smashed through the gens (3 done with the first hook, yeah I got seriously outplayed and I'm cool with it kudos to the runner). I managed to get 2 in basement in the endgame because noed was nearby and the unhooked folk kept going straight back to cleanse it. I grabbed the same person twice off the totem and another guy once.
Apparently I'm a "trash spirit who should die of cancer and I'm carried by NOED only getting 2 kills because I camped the basement."
Its not my fault the survivors were so predictable at the end there. Bad sports will always be bad sports there is not much you can do.
If people are going to ######### a brick about someone playing spirit then I say the only answer is to just keep playing spirit.
-
Its an interesting idea but probably to much of a swing back to the killer in terms of tunneling someone down.
That said there does need to be less synergy between stacked exhaustion and endurance perks.
Also deep wounds is really a non- event it doesn't take much to get rid of and if you have a lot of pallets you can get rid of it during a chase and still have access to your exhaustion perks to extend that chase further.
It is problematic how well second chance perks synergize, exhaustion on DW though may not be a great solution.
-
Its the narcissist ego play, you can lose as survivor and still technically win if you get out alive but everyone else is dead.
Got a player last night trying to taunt me about losing because he hatched out after everyone dead and him on death hook.
The funny thing is he can think what he likes I had a fun game and that's all that matters to me.
There is so much post game online abuse at this point, that my own fun is now all that matters. I'll play however I feel like playing because that's what's fun at the time.

Just allow us to populate Custom games with survivor bots, so that you can go in as two people with three survivor bots, or even solo with four.
Although I'm sure the main hurdle is coding and bug testing the bots for all situations that arise on new maps, with new perks, etc.
Yeah that's the kind of idea I have. Custom game with bots. Sometimes I just want to muck about with a new build but no one is online to do that with, also when its just you and one other its kind of hard to really test how something works.

Anyway cheers for the discussion folks, I just wanted to vent some thoughts and throw my hat in the ring for a solo mode yet again.
I'm off to focus on something more positive.

It's hard, but I think the best way to handle it is to just give them the benefit of the doubt and just assume they are all working on the same ritual or challenge. I've found I can focus better on beating them if I go into such games with such a mindset.
The mechanics are there - i really don't have a right to be mad that somebody wants to use those mechanics - especially if I know of ways to play off them and beat them (faking pickups, equipping certain perks or addins, facing walls, ect)
Takes time and persistence to have the mental fortitutde to just tough it out. And sometimes you just have to be willing to say to yourself "I can't deal with this tonight" and just put the game down in favor of something else for awhile.
I'm well aware of this and its a very good point. I was looking forward to playing some dbd though and it just got under my skin. Two crummy matches and then this group of twats and I thought that's it I'm done.
The reason I'd like a solo challenge mode is that even if its a night like this I can still play some DBD and enjoy myself without sweat stressing or hitting it hardcore and without dealing with people like this when I'm really not in the mood.

I know this question isn't address to me, but personally, I would always prefer the team that does the gens fast and leaves. It's not a very fun game, but it doesn't feel malicious.
Yeah its not always malicious, in fact I'd say most times when people feel its malicious its often just they got outplayed and 'gen rushed' as it were.
This was very different and quite obvious of the team's intent from the get go making it a less pleasant game experience.
I'll tip my hat to those who outplay me even crushingly so, but to just run around taunting, clicky click and not doing objectives was just tedious.
If someone had said "hey we just wanted to farm" in the endgame it would put it in the different light and my response would have "sorry I didn't want to farm glhf next game" but that definitely wasn't the tone.

They brought petrified oak offerings, that would have been the first indicator of what they intended on doing. Usually you look around before you pick up in case someone is waiting to sabo or take hits. Just the same as if someone had a flashlight.
That isn’t ‘bullying’ the killer. Its playing the game. Regardless of how anyone reacts in post match chat, that is literally using items/features available in the game.
I'd agree with your point if they tried to do any gens at all, but they just wanted to taunt. It was rather sad.
There is nothing wrong with petrified offerings or trying to make a save they are part of the game, and I'm happy to play it but it was clear from the get go these people didn't want a game of DBD they wanted a low level killer to just bully till they quit and when they got me instead, they had a post game meltdown at me for not letting them bully me.
This is not the game as it should be and isn't much fun to face.

my point is : crying over a perk , items , offerings as a killer or survivor ( i play both sides) aswell as gen rush , tunnel , camp , slug ... and i forgot some exemple is childish ... we all know its unfun , boring ( insert what you want in ) BUT its a part of the game , and you knew it when you bought the game and you still playing it , like me , like the others here on the forum. to reply @ other game modes, i m ok with bots to practice ( only practice) i'm open to casual and a ranked one but im not open to 2V8 as it ( i mean the need to rework all maps ) it may be too hard for devs to rework te whole game ( perks , mechanics , and maps )
Again this discussion has nothing to do with complaining about perks, offerings or items. I can't stress this enough almost anything is fine in game and you should expect anything.
I'm talking about a playstyle where the goal of the survivors is to not do gens but rather taunt and grief the killer. These games often drag on and aren't very fun to play. Usually they also have the saltiest most abusive survivors post game.
Please re-read the original post, I'm not sure how I can make this any clearer. Cheers.

I'm not sure you understand what this thread is about.
No one is crying over perks, items or offerings or any of the things you've mentioned.
We are talking about player behaviour and motivation with respect to intentionally trying to ruin someone elses game by not engaging in the objectives of the game and purely trying to grief other players.
Also when teams deliberately use a low level team mate to get easier games so they can indulge in griefing with little to no consequence.
When the actual multiplayer element of the game is crappy then a solo play mode can offer a remedy to that scenario.
-
@Olokun said:
Multiplayer's game means you play with others Persons around the world and that means sometimes you will win and sometime you will loose . sometimes you play solo and sometimes you play with your friends or your family . everyone need to understand it.
I think we all know definition of multiplayer.
It doesn't strictly mean a game with a primarily multiplayer focus can't have a single player mode. In fact many of them do, even if they are just practice modes or custom games modes that have no in game progression attached to them. I've derived a lot of joy out of solo play modes on many multiplayer games and often pick up games like that based on whether there is a solo play component. This is especially true if none of my friends are interested in playing it. A lot of them aren't interested in DBD due to the gaming online with strangers 'PUG' element.
I'm not sure what your point is.

Agreed. And I speak as someone who has played this game since it dropped on PS4 back in 2017.
I would say it's the worst player-base of any game I have ever played (I understand other communities are bad, but this is a personal opinion).
I recently decided to complete the current pass and then go full casual on DBD. This is something I've attempted to do for sometime, but I kept bouncing back. But this time, I have other games, interests and responsibilities to accommodate my time.
Playing killer is just an eye-rolling chore the majority of the time. The poor matchmaking, coupled with the behaviour/attitude of a large chunk of the players, make one feel apprehensive to play DBD for extended periods.
I would enjoy bots too. Although there wouldn't be nowhere near as much challenge, at least you could kick back and relax. And it would be nice to have match without a teabag or a flashlight click.
I play against bots on For Honor and it's FAR more fun than playing against real players.
But that's the nature of online gaming: once some players know a particular trick or tactic, they exploit it in to the ground. And if it wins them matches, why shouldn't they?
And then you get the little darlings who boast about how they looped/blinded the killer all match and made him quit. They even make videos about it. It's all so...tiresome.
So for me, without the pass, and the collection of mediocre skins and useless charms, there will no urgency to grind away.
I believe games should be fun experience, not something done out of necessity.
There's a fierce resistence to the idea of bots or even solo play modes in online pvp games. I often find that I have more fun cranking out a couple of casual games against AI then I do trying to win one over other people. I play a lot of solo battlefront as often the queue times are awful and people only ever want the one play mode which gets old quickly.
It doesn't need to be an extensive story or campaign, just a custom play mode where you chuck a few AI's in and play around with a funny build or a new killer. It would never replace the main game but a few solo challenges for BP's could make it an interesting addition.

I'm only here just to play devils advocate but wouldn't you rather face this than have all the survivors actually sweat?
I don't know if they were doing gens or not but from the sounds of what your saying it seems like they weren't. If that's the case then it's better then doing this than all working on separate gens trying to gen rush you.
If they got someone to create a smurf account though then that's just extremely annoying to hear. Only you will know if that rank 16 was actually good (I.e smurf) or actually a bad player but was friends with this team.
Me personally I hate the term bully squad. Just because of the fact that if they weren't messing around then you'd probably be complaining about getting gen rushed.
No I wouldn't.
I'm sorry if you find the term bully squad irksome but if you hop onto a game with the sole intention of trying to grief other players and make them quit then that's what you are.
My feelings on competitive vs casual play or gen repair speeds is irrelevent to the point being made.
I like to play casually and immersively, I don't expect everyone to play the same as me nor should I. But I'd rather face a coordinated sweat squad who blasted through the game than be stuck online with a bunch of griefers dragging it out for their own personal enjoyment at my expense.
A rank 16 with all meta perks unlocked and maxed on an unrelated character who is right in the middle of the group doing their all to be unpleasant is a good candidate for a smurfing accusation, that's an assumption on my part but I'd say a pretty solid one, based on their in game and post game behaviour.
Its pretty easy to tell when you have legit people just trying to play, you often get one person who really isn't good at the game and one or two trying their best to proect them and get your attention. Its rarely in your face obnoxious and its pretty obvious who they are trying to protect.

An epiphany we all have at one point.

Yeah I get the feeling there are a lot of kids online during these times and we all know playing with angry children is about as crappy as it gets.

I mean my main problem with it is because of the matchmaking and imbalance between solo Q and SWF, it’s like such a slap in the face. You get like 10 potato squads in a row and then you face seal team 6 out of nowhere.
At least if it was consistent it would be a little less unexpected to get rolled in ~4 minutes when you are screwing around playing clown or something
@fr0sty1223 said:

Swf has to exist because toxic killer strategies like face camping and hard tunneling exist. The devs need to deal with all these toxic strategies on both the killer side and survivor side
SWF is not inherently toxic and a loss really isn't that bad of a thing. Yes it can be broken but it doesn't solely exists to grief you.
A game of really good coordinated SWF is almost and auto loss which speaks volumes about how broken it is but its very different game from a grief squad who are there to ruin your fun and you kinda suss out pretty quickly which one you are facing.

I get where folks are coming from but why do they always go into "and then I 4kd" like, lets be real, at least killing them is some vindication.
Usually when you get a bully squad they roll you too, and use like Springwood and Haddonfield offerings; and 4 man escape.
Still, I know it sucks. I often get groups like this and they railroad me into like a basement lockdown trapper or such and it's just blech, I would rather not.
Its just the typical outcome from games like this. Bully squad groups are really bad at the game, they are giving the killer free pressure by not doing their objectives and if the killer knows even the basics its usually not hard to eventually get them all.
The point is even if you win its still not that fun. I don't care about thrashing these people I'd rather not play with them at all.
I'd say an immersive game where I get outplayed and don't get a single kill but felt it was a nail biter and close, is a far better game than 10 mins of bully squad BS.

As a solo queue survivor I hate getting put into a group with these sorta people too, mostly because killers always assume I'm part of the squad.
Me to and I realise I'm making a bit of an assumption here, which I try not to do, but at the same time every member of the team was involved in the bad play all together and all were getting salty at the end. So I feel I'm probably on th emoney this time thinking it sa smurf squad.
Typically if I'm not part of that crap I'll call it out post game as solo survivor just because I don't want to see it from either side.
-
Killer is at its most fun against potato survivors, because you have a chance to win even if you screw up slightly. Extending a chase even by a missed swing can mean the difference between losing 2 gens or getting the pressure back on at least one.
I find often lately the first gen pops at the start of my first chase, I'm behind and I haven't even started because I simply chose the wrong patrol path initially.
-
Yeah as killer I've had a couple of times now where, I've already picked someone up and got caught not paying attenion, got blinded only to not drop my survivor.
I don't mean they misstimed it at the pickup but rather I'm carrying the person and swinging away with mad grit, got a bit over zealous and got blinded, but still had the guy on my shoulder afterward and they went on the hook no probs.
Its so rare I didn't think anything of it so maybe its a bug, I'll have to keep track next time it happens.

A practice/bot mode would be nice. They could code a couple of different survivor playstyles, code each killer with a playstyle... It would be super hard to do in DbD though. Not saying impossible, just... The mobile team didn't have to deal with the legacy spaghetti.
Yeah the custom play bots in friday the 13th just try and endlessly run from you, there isn't a lot of interaction but as its been said I'm not looking to replace the current PVP game just bolster player options overall with another mode.
You could have a boldness/fearful scale for survivor bots that you could set individually which would scale how much they run/hide or try and finish a gen and loop you before fleeing etc. The F13 bots do an ok job of exploiting windows ect to try and avoid you they just aren't very good at hiding in cupboards or attacking you back. Lets face it F13 is a dumpster fire next to DBD in terms of gameplay and its still got adequate bots.
Killers could have an agressive/deffensive scale that plays into how much they commit to chases or try and patrol and regress gens.
It couldn't be that hard to programme. Yes you'd be missing a large part of the mindgames etc but as I said you'll never replace a player oponent but if it was adequate enough to practice a killer power on or just play a really obnoxious murder build without ruining someone elses fun it would be worth it.
EDIT - You are right though the neater your code the easier automation is.
-
Yeah no progression linked to it and maybe some kind of solo challenge blood point reward but otherwise there is little to gain than a non pvp play experience and some practice against bots.
You'd still have to play online for your BP's and pips. I'm not looking to replace the pvp experience just offer a solo alternative if I want to goof around on my own terms for a quick laugh.
I want my DBD fix without having to sweat for it sometimes.

His pouty duck face glamour shot potrait is kind of jarring in between all these great looking horror icons and ideas.
Everything about him is just kind of jarringly out of place, his awkward run animation, his pink glow bat with a blade in it because hey why not, I'm kinda dreading the eventual up tempo poppy menu and chase music.

Have you seen American Psycho? The Trickster gives me a lot of those vibes.
I get the american psycho vibe, that's kinda what I first thought of too. Corporate culture is definitely the realm of sociopaths and psychopaths.
The K-pop element is what kinda feels out of place, a little hammy. Maybe the K-pop realm is the bastion of socio- and psychopaths also. It seems to thrive on narcissism which is often a big part of socio- and psychopathy.

Hey its an interesting concept with a very twisted backstory.
I just don't really get the k-pop angle. That's kinda what feels outa place.
I mean aren't there are a bunch of mythical monsters in Korean culture to draw from. There are great Korean horror movies to draw from. If they are going for greater representation in the character base it just feels a little cliche and hammy to horseshoe in some k-pop. As if that's the one thing Korea has.
What was the thought process "yeah that'll get the Korean market into it".
I hope they bring out some grittier cosmetics that fit the feel of the game better than shirtless rave guy, I may pick it up then.
But you'll still have his duckface glamour shot pouting at you from the killer menu. Strikes me as weird.

This is the weirdest part about all the LGBT posts.
Its all speculation and self narrative nothing was confirmed or even hinted.
For anyone who thought the hints meant it was a gay killer/survivor, because of what a purple butterfly?
For all the people saying it has to be a gay killer, why because the model has some effeminate qualities? (firstly the western ideal of masculinity is not the global standard).
Let me say this... a LGBT killer could look like ANYBODY!!!!
They could look like the trapper, the huntress, the plague, dwight, meg, yui, oni etc etc.
If you think a LGBT character has to conform to some single specifically 'gay' look to be representative of LGBT people, then you are the ignorant twonk, regardless of if you are pro or anti the idea.
-
Perks look interesting, I'd have to try them out to have any real opinion on them though.
Survivor is just another skin so yeah, not bad not great.
Killer sounds interesting on paper but looks kinda meh play wise we'll have to see, model looks more like a douche at a rave than a dbd killer.
I'm not sure if he wants to murder me or sell me E and do jell-o shots.
Different but rather underwhelming again.
-
Yeah I suffer from recurrent ocular migraine and often barf after a session of optical overload/visual distortion. (A lot of games induce this but I love gaming so I put up with it and temper my game time as needed to avoid adverse side effects).
The repeated flashlight blind is a big culprit in DBD and I run lightborn a lot.
Doom and Cyber Punk 2077 have been the biggest trigger culprits gaming wise though. I've just stopped playing them altogether.
-
That's no different than the people who say I'm gonna punish you and/or abuse you for bringing x perk or mori.
Basically there are crap players on both sides and they'll use whatever lame excuse to be crap.
I don't often bring any item into game (unless I have an item specific tome to do) because you get stuff for free from chests and we all love a lucky dip bag.
Also it feels thematically odd to me that you would be transported to the fog ready to go with medkit/toolbox in hand. I could understand flash light as you could have been taken while inspecting that strange noise outside. Maybe map and key because following that strange map to a location, or that odd key you found in the basement and don't know what its for, could lead you into the fog.
Far more thematic though to search in desperation for what you need. It is survival horror after all.
-
I usually let the last survivor go unless it was a rather nasty/obnoxious game then everyone goes on hook.
I make a particular effort when there are only two survivors left and one hides waiting for hatch and the other tries to progress the game.
I'll slug in that scenario not for the 4k but to find the hider and put them on hook to give the game progress player the hatch. If you are trying to crunch out that last gen solo while your buddy cowers in a locker then kudos to you.
-
yeah but you gotta make your own fun.
Mix up the builds and play style. A game like this can get stagant fast especially when there is a static META in a play to win environment. Everyone does the same thing and it gets old quickly.
Lately I play only basmenet build with the goal being to only hook people down there and not let em out. Real crazy in the woods in a shack kinda style. Its been a lot of fun.

I'd say I still play more killer than survivor, I'm just too impatient to wait in queues for more than 5mins.
Also survivor can get samey after a few games where different killers really switch it up.
Even if I feel you put up with more in game and post game crap, killer is still more fun than survivor and I rate games down as killer not because I didn't have fun, but more because I was forced to play with people I often would never play with as they really are just unpleasant people online.
The clickity clickers, the BM'ers, the stupid names, the post game tantrums, none of it upsets me but it kinda breaks the immersion when someone follows you around all match clicking at you with a torch and that just lowers game experience for me.

My solo survivor experience is really different to this.
Yeah you get games where you can run the killer for a minute and not a single gen pops or you can hang on hook and watch your buddies do nothing while you slip into second stage.
I've been camped and tunneled but not often and usually because my team mates have created the scenario where its advantageous for the killer to do so rather than the killer just targetted me. The number of times I've been farmed in the killer's face. Also to say all of one particular killer camps is kinda BS.
But games like that are the exceptions not the norm.
I played pretty much only killer for the first year of the game, but have delved into survivor for the last 6 months and now play both regularly, still prefer killer.
I'd say survivor is far less stressful, generally easier, on the receiving end of far less toxicity, I've rarely been abused in endgame by a killer. I'm often more disgusted by my teammates behaviour than the killer's.
I'd say I have a 3-5 star game experience as survivor for most games, where as, even though I prefer playing killer, I often rate games as 1-3 stars just on the poor state of survivor behaviour.
Getting slugged is part of the game and you are still in play, crawl dammit. Make that killer look for you. Best escape I ever had I crawled across the map to the hatch and escaped. I mean ACROSS the map, from one corner to the other nearly, on corn map. It still makes me smile to think about it.
I'd say slugging the last survivor to bleed out is really obnoxious, but its kinda like the survivor team who stand their BM'ing at the gate for the whole egc, just leave dammit. That's what I do if we are all there and all healed and the killer is nowhere in sight I just leave.
Survivor queues are long enough without standing around for 2 mins to button mash every match. I'd rather get back into the queue and move on, than waste my time.
I often find myself empathizing with an angry killer because they have probably had a run of really ######### matches and after I run them well they hook and smack me and I can't help thinking is this about me or is it you've just had enough for the night and I've drawn the short straw ire for the evening. I'm not condoning it but I understand where it may come from.
Also the very theme of the game is that the killer is kind of meant to torture and murder you, so I can't say I get upset when they do just that because hey its thematic. I don't mind being mori'd, it feels like an appropriate end.
I should state that I don't give a ######### about rank, but find the red rank gaming experience to often be more unpleasant than a casual green/purp mid rank game experience.
(This is all just my personal opinion and play experience of course your experience may differ).

This is a long standing requested mode that would solve a lot of the problems with killer from a logistical standpoint: Killers are less likely to recruit other players, killers are less likely to care about the social aspect of the game and thus cosmetics, killers are more likely to get demoralized, killers lack anyone 'anchoring' them to the game via a playgroup.
There are a few reasons why such an obvious path forward hasn't been done. First, and most obviously, balance issues. You would need to somehow prevent killers from just double teaming every survivor all the time, but if you can't ever cooperate in a chase what is the point of coop? Map size is also an issue, a lot of maps, even the largest, would just give killers too much coverage to lock down gens even in a say... 2v12 scenario. From a technical standpoint its totally possible (as double killer was a bug for quite a while), but there may be legal issues as well. It is fully possible the license holders said 'Hey you can have this character in the game but they may never appear in any way alongside other killers from rival IPs.' And there is the playlist issue: survivors would never Q into an alt mode that put them at a disadvantage, and map offerings 'fizzling' if two killers Q'd would be weird.
Finally, and most cynically, there is the very obvious fact that survivors are the golden boys and girls of DBD. This is just a reality that has broken every asymetric vs game that has a player count imbalance between teams before: One team is more economic to cater too and because of asymetric player counts there isn't that much cross pollination to create a cohesive community, ergo the devs have a pretty large financial incentive to try to cater to survivor desires, and part of the survivor mindset is, frankly, to be jerks who torment a player and enjoy making them feel weak or powerless and alone. Cyberbullying, as ugly as it is to say, is part of DBD's economic model, even if decisions aren't overtly being made to encourage it (and I actually suspect they are to SOME degree. BHVR is at the very least AWARE of this dimension based on their surveys, and its hard to argue the way end game collapse was implemented was not a 'we are doing everything in our power to allow survivors to continue to be toxic jerks while they win the game while doing the bare minimum to make the game function and prevent killers quitting en-mass' play) and it would be much harder to bully a duo killer than solo.
Personally, I think some of this could be fixed just by making a coop specific killer: It is weird for example that Legion or Twins didn't have coop functionality in some way. One could imagine a duo killer, for example, that has one 'active' and one 'passive' player, who can swap who is active and able to do standard M1 stuff while the other scouted and maybe had situational ways to down. But its something the devs just aren't interested in it seems.
One of the best dang overviews I've seen on this forum.
Kudos to you. 👍️
Even solo survivor has some form of social element to it. Trying to implement a social element to killer though is rife with logistical complications in the current game state.
Honestly I'd rather see more catering to a solo experience with the inclusion of AI opponents in a solo game mode. Its what keeps me coming back to battlefront. Not every game has to be a competitive online sweat and I can blast some bots for fun and not worry about being obnoxious or anyone else's game experience. I think that's a pipe dream though.

Hey if they are the kind of person who DC's when they are outplayed then they probably don't care about the team.
Because its all about ego, which means its all about them.

Can't say the teasers have thrilled me much.
Purple butterfly, rewinding tapedeck and some neon colourised silouhette.
I'd like to stay warily optimistic, but in truth am more not overly intrigued.

The disproportion is mainly numbers, there are more survivors in game ergo there is more opportunity for salty comments from survivors.
Also when you have a team mentality vs a single oponent, its easier to level your disdain at the oponent than your team mates. Even if the team was poor and the oponent playing a good clean game. So there is actually less of a behavioural barrier to abusing the killer over abusing your teammates.
We are all human, we all have egos and we all get pissed off at some point. The goal is to maintain a lil dignity and not let your ego and emotions overide your common sense.
Online competitve gaming can bring out the worst in people because its virtually zero consequence and its predominately anonymous.
Just remember that salty comments in endgame chat be them abussive, threatening or even gloating over a win say more about the abuser than the abused.
Repeat offenders are just wearing a big flag that says I'm a crappy insecure person and that makes me a crappy insecure gamer.
