Breaking the game’s audio and visuals to this extent, when they are crucial to any game, but especially Dead by Daylight. That is unacceptable and this patch shouldn’t have come out as is.
They just wanted to get the update out before they went on Holiday Vacations. I don't honestly know if they even have QA people.. and if they do.. they clearly aren't aware enough of the game's mechanics to notice when the audio got fudged up.
So all the other companies affected by the same bugs with lots more money and manpower and way more testers didn't catch this either.
The issues like this aren't widespread until you have a massive amount of people playing and League has way more people testing. Some stuff still gets to live because it's either not noticed or if it is there's not enough data to pinpoint the cause.
If you take Blizzard, EA and Bethesda for examples look at all the issues they've got and they're massively bigger in terms on money and testing than BHVR is. Yet stuff like this makes it to live all the time even with the huge amount of testing they get.
When video cards come out some stuff isn't caught, cars get recalled all the time, the Unreal Engine got thoroughly tested.
The simple fact of the matter is no PTB or internal testing will ever catch everything and the smaller the PTB the more likelihood something will slip past.
If you're not willing to help test then you should expect that more bugs might get through and the more people like you with that attitude the longer it takes to find bugs and fix them. Because if everyone was like you and failed to submit a crash or bug report nothing would ever get fixed.

The developers have shown that they care quite little of what their player-base says.
Old classic examples were the flashlights which only got nerfed AFTER Matheiu was humiliated by an Asian group of players during an event. Before that, it was basically a "git gud" attitude he had regarding the issue when players complained.
Then there's the infinites, which also was treated with a "git gud" mentality..
..and then there's Matheiu telling us to "play another game if we don't like it" and "play nurse or hillbilly if you wanna win"..I mean.. like.. the latest one was during the last PTB where Mathieu told us that they took our survey feedback with "a huge grain of salt" and all of the feedback we had given was thrown in the trash can.
The developers don't care about anything other than you purchasing the DLCs and Cosmetics through their Store.
Some day you'll stop spouting such baloney when you know the exact opposite is true just because your heavily biased.
-
Both sides should get offerings back when there's a crash during the loading screen along with offerings unless it was intentional. As for dc's if killers do it lose everything and for survivors you get your offerings and addons back depending on how many dc.
That way you don't just bodyblock people till they dc and rinse and repeat or down and camp them so they dc.
-

You're joking right, you say they're being toxic for wanting to have fun and all but basically giving you free hits and farm?
Sometimes killers want to make everything toxic, gen rush toxic, pallet slammed toxic, survivor unhooked toxic, totem cleansed toxic etc etc.

Actual facts is it that it didn't work out to where it was functional for both sides but don't let actual facts and logic get in your way again.

its officially allowed in DBD since the devs said its up to EAC, and EAC confirms its okay and they wont ban for it
Would you just stop, the devs have never said it's officially allowed and EAC has said they don't actively scan for it. However if EAC's automated scan picks it up and bans you for it YOU'RE BANNED end of discussion and BHVR won't unban you Either.
In fact @Peanits even responded to you and stated quite clearly it's USE AT YOUR OWN RISK !!!!!
Besides which once dedicated servers come out MLGA won't work anymore because the server will hold all the info not either side.
Lastly for all those saying the devs won't do anything just stop with that nonsense as well, you've already been disproven before.

Nurse with 5 perks slots would be pretty much impossible to beat and a Billy with 5 or even Spirit with 5 would be broken.

Yeah, there limited beta usage is annoying. They actively REFUSED to update the PTB with the new changes so they could be tested. All in all, BHVR has a big name game in a growing Genre of games. But is very much still a "Garage Company" in its mind.
That's why patch notes don't include all the changes.
That's why the main website still has the patch notes from the summer BBQ as it's most recent news.
That's why the developer vids they put out have a half hour of dead time on them.
I could go on, but i wont. I'm holding faith in my little, massively clogged, heart that these are the growing pains of a company that's doing it's best, and will get things polished eventually.
They didn't update the PTB because any changes wouldn't have been able to be included due to console certification window being limited.
They're still growing and this year release came up against a tight timeframe and in the future they'll be doing smaller releases ona more regular basis instead of every few months.
Yes because sme didn't make it in time for teh patch notes, happens withe very company even the massive ones.
Well again holidays time frame really didn't leave a lot to get it up to date.
See above.
As I said they're changing to a more routine schedule of smaller updates more regularly, this prevents big updates having issue creep in.
For those that didn't know a lot fo the issues are due to the new engine update which is affecting everyone that switched to it, big developers and small as well as programmers using it.
Some of the issues are regular with each major release of the Unreal Engine and a hotfix usually comes out within a week or 2 and it works until eh next major update.
For those crashing if you haven't post in the support forums I know some fixes that've helped so system spec, crash logs if any etc are helpful.

What i meant is that i can chase and still kinda control what gens i don't want to be done. You don't necessarily need to give up on the 3 gen strat because of a chase.
This it's not always the survivors fault despite the killers ALWAYS wanting to place blame there. I mean it obviously can't be because a high mobility killer ot good gen control killer plays well.

Well I always respected someone that did it on a basement hook with no luck offerings and pre Deliverance since that's less than 4% base chance. I'd let them go and chase someone else and if I ran into them later in the game they were fair game to chase.
If they managed to do it and be the last one when they did it before they got auto sac'd I'd let them leave via hatch or gates.

lol 90% of the time for me NOED spawns right near a gate, somewhere obvious where they won’t miss it on their way to power the gate.
I've always laughed when I only ran NOED and I'd have all 5 totems up and then go to check the gates and see it chose one near an exit gate. It'd of course be facing the survivors running towards said exit gate and be against a rock, tree or wall and in plain sight.
There would be times it'd stay hidden but those were much rarer but on the positive side i always knew where survivors would go when they wanted to kill it haha.

me with the straw mans? haha ok buddy. Surely you would never do that.
You've got some real double standards going on here. You throw out all these excuses for DS, then when I do the same for Legion suddenly it doesn't count and the goalposts are moved.
Umm if a counter is a counter against MANY things rather than one thing or person then that goes in its favour. I.e Iron will is good because it works well against all killers, including Legions trying to track. Calm spirit however is an inferior perk because it's only really good against the doctor.
All you do is come in and tell people they're wrong as if you're the supreme authority here and then start throwing out straw mans, double standards and hypocrisy. It's like you're trying to put across this pretentious persona but it just ain't working bud.
Ok let's put this to rest once and for all, the discussion was about countering Legions moonwalk, you were given counters. Then you changed it to well these perks and addons cottner Legion and you were shown the fallacy of that argument because you don't know you're facing Legion.
Then you changed it to well these perks are good against most killers, and then now you go right back to the straw Mans and Ad Hominems to distract from the very obvious fact you not only got countered but kept changing your argument to try and deflect attention away from the fact you were wrong.
Then you finish with the Ad Hominems and pseudo intellectual nonsense to distract from your changing narrative. The only thing not working here is your continuing to move the goalpost and try and insult me to distract from you losing a debate.
Also wasn't it you that in another thread complained about this forum having a killer bias and in another thread complained about killers but now you're a killer complaining about a survivor perk.
Lastly it's become obvious you have no real argument anymore since several people have shown you about counters and how they work. You just keep changing the argument and flinging insults to distract so I'm going to stop replying to you.
-
It depends I think on when you bought the champion and how far into your bloodweb you got since on some of the characters Iv'e had a longtime I noticed something. All the ones that were at level one or under the level where you'd get splinters didn't get them once I'd bought the dlc.
But for the ones near that level or at it I did get some splinters and if you still need to prestige well they won't bother you anymore after that.

i mean is it oaky to let you hole team die just so you can escape via hatchSure you can do it but it's not a very nice thing to dom if the killers camping or slugging them on the ground and waiting you're perfectly fine to not go near them. If the killers off looking for you and you see a chance to go rescue them then I usually go for it.
If I know it's not safe and the killers camping and I see the person on the hatch I'll suicide and let them have it.

Yeah, i was once playing with @lyric and killer DCed for the same reason. He was protecting the totems at all costs and we decided that 2 of us should do the totems and distract the killer while the other 2 kept doing gens. As soon as we removed them killer DCed.
Honestly, some people need to understand that their main priority as a killer is to kill people and prevent them from doing gens, not camping totems. 😕Me and @chemical_reject had a match against the Trapper and he spent the entire match protecting Ruin on the Haddonfield map. #GOODTIMES
I faced a Doctor on one of the Coldwind maps about 6 months or so ago and his ruin totem was in a little enclosure. He protected that like a vicious guard dog and wouldn't stray more than 10 feet away ever, so we just powered through the gens and the gates got powerd.
We killed all his other totems off and I can't remember if he had NOED or not but this one person really wanted his tem and after getting smacked a bunch it got killed but he got sac'd. The person didn't care because the totem got destroyed and he'd pipped anyways.

I mean, we are hitting 2019 soon, the game is nearly 3 years out and we still have a real fullscreen mode. If u ask me, the hope is pretty low.
Don't forget they just had bought the right to the rights to the game back and now we have a development roadmap There's now a store that even consoles can use, consoles are getting better optimization and bans will be able to be issued for them soon as well.
You've got maps tweaked, killers buffed and tweaked, Freddy full rework coming, we've already had full Wraith and Hag rework. The secondary objective test was pretty interesting and now there's a new engine running the whole show and every looks much nicer.
Within the next 6 months or so we'll hopefully have the long awaited dedicated servers up and running along with another new map and killer.
That's probably on their agenda but other things might have priority but they've also said they'll be doing smaller updates but much more often.

Yeah she is cool and also have good perks.. but isn't she hard to use like nurse?
PS: when i play nurse (my main actually), i always trolled by survivors
@powerbatsYes she's hard to master but she's oh so rewarding and as @Rebel_Raven said she's got some really nice perks. My build with her usually almost always has Rancor and even if it's swf I use Rancor as a mindgame and go one one like BBQ survivors do then another.
I run Rancor, BBQ mostly for the points since i often forget to turn around but it's also good for when you do pay attention. Then I throw in bitter Murmur when i want to just make things difficult and Agitation depending on the group.
Now if you really want to be Cheesy on her Rancor/Bitter Murmur/BBQ and Tinkerer then use her Prayer Beads and Yakuyoke Amulet and you'll terrorize.
Now to truly mess with their heads throw in a secret offering like Shroud of Separation if it's all solos since they won't know it's not a Mori and when they see you they'll assume it's a Mori.
-
@DarkGGhost said:
@powerbats every kill has a drawback. If the killer camp the last 3 gens you only have to go fix them and when you hear the heartbeat you run away if the killer follows you he\she will lose the game and maybe you will survey. If you don\t know wher the hatch is just follow the heartbeat and you will find it if the killer camp it just fix the gen/s it's so eazy and work if you have QI 90+Well M&A works wonders for that, Insidious and M&A is evil and as far as following the heartbeat sneaky killers play mind games with that. The'll go someplace where they can be close to the hatch but to get to it the survivor has to go past them.
For instance they'll camp a hill and stay on top of it looking around then jump off do a mini patrol and circle right back to it. So the survivor hears the heartbeat and thinks the killer is guarding the hatch and it's not actually there.
-
I'd give it a few weeks while they try and fix the Unreal Engine stuff and they'll probably darken that stuff some. The real fix for Freddy will be his full rework since that'll get looked at pretty well.

IW is good against all killers, and its not like lightweight is useless on certain killers either.By your logic I guess enduring isnt a counter because I dont know if im going up against survivors with decisive strike.
I like how before it was "a counter is a counter" and now its not. Stop moving the goalposts.
Again with the deflections, show me where I said a counter wasn't a counter again? I even pointed out counters for you and now you're trying the classic Straw Mans.
You've been shown counters and now it's back to the logical fallacies to point blame at someone else because you refuse to admit you were wrong.
i said you don't know who your going up against as a survivor which means your claims are illogical because those counters you're saying are directed at Legion. Now you say well IW is good against all counters where before it was a Legion specific counter.
Then Lightweight which you listed as a specific counter to Legions Moonwalk is suddenly not useless towards other killers that don't have his exploit. So now who's moving the goalposts because they keep getting their arguments countered.
Ah yes the well I guess this perk is worthless attempt Straw Man, you made a bad argument and got proven wrong. So now you're just going to Ad Argumentum yourself endlessly to deflect from being proven wrong and then deflect attention away onto me and anyone else like you did with @thesuicidefox and others.

No, I just played against enough of them and watched some good Freddy players streams/videos including by people here. Medkits arent an issue for me, and who said flashllights never had counters? I've only been talking about DS. Don't put words into my mouth by bringing in other things since you complained I did it to you.
I never said you complained about those but nice Straw Man's there and the only one putting things into peoples mouths per se has been you when you said someone agreed with you when in fact they hadn't.
I used those examples of things that have counters and even gave you several definitions of counters and how they're used. @thesuicidefox also gave you counters which you decided to ignore because it proved you wrong.
As for Legion. Bring iron will or lightweight to make it harder for Legion to track you. Bring adrenaline or an instaheal to mend deep wounds. Bring DS for the free escape.
To counter Claudette's play Wraith and then use either All Seeing Eye or bring Sloppy Butcher to make it harder for her to stealth you. Bring a Mori to kill her off or just slug her and let her bleed out.
Now to completely counter your argument, since the survivors don't know who the killer is going to be they can't bring IW to counter Legion or Lightweight since it might be a Nurse. Thus your legion counter is a fallacy since it's not guaranteed to be a Legion.
You can slug the person if you feel they have AD, they bring a medkit you bring Franklins and smack it out of their hand. Bring a mori for the FREE kill o and guess what if they use that Insta heal it's gone and then you can simply down them with ease.
There we go. Well that sure looks like Legions moonwalking has counters.
GG
There we go that sure looks like Legion's Moonwalking has no counters since you don't know Legion is going to be your killer.
Now that's GG since unless the killer messages you or you're using a hack that lets you know who the killer has chosen in the lobby you have no way of knowing it's a Legion.

@powerbats 1v3 eazy 1 run to the killer and take him away and the 2 left do gen, 1v2 just see wher the other survivor is and go to the opposite gen and do at the same time, 1v1 rly now just take the hacth you can't ok how about do the last gen/s.That works on bad killers but against a good Nurse, Doctor etc will counter you for quite some time.
Also if it's down to 1 person finally they may not know where the hatch is at but the killer usually does so that hatch isn't guaranteed.

Ps: or should i buy legion?I like Spirit and she's addon dependent to an extent and takes time to master but once you do she's an absolute blast. I started with Trapper, played Pig then Myers but Spirit is just so much fun and you can take her to rank 1 easier.
-
Well if all remaining survivors are inside the exit gate then the opening closes and the game ends. That way if there's only 3 or 2 or even 1 it automatically ends the game.
That takes out the situational aspect of it so that there is nothing to figure out it's pretty cut and dried. Where it gets tricky is always with 1 person getting chased or an unhook attempt.
-
@The_Crusader said:
Who mentioned adrenaline? And it still helps on the hook.
Soft counters....well taking iron will is a soft counter to legion. Or lightweight.
Iron grasp? Lmfao now you're reaching.
Theres no actual counter so I don't know why you're getting sweaty trying to throw out all these suggestions which are either situational, or dont counter it but just lessen the sting of it.
And a survivor has to run far away from all hooks to wiggle free. If you have DS then its only 35% max, or you dont even have to wiggle at all if you're the obsession.
As @thesuicidefox mentioned there's counters and just because you don't want to admit it or you can't use them properly doesn't mean they don't exist.
They take medkits you bring Sloppy Butcher TO COUNTER THEM, 4 Flashlights you take Lightborn to counter them, slower killer Iron Grasp and or Agitation. There's counters to everything no matter how much you try and deflect or twist what people say your narrative of no counters is wrong.
Counter:
Transitive Verb:** Offset**, Nullify
Adverb: to or toward a different or opposite direction, result, or effect
Transitive Verb/Intransitive Verb
If you do something to counter a particular action or process, you do something which has an opposite effect to it or makes it less effective.
Well that sure looks like DS has counters.
Oh and I still hate English classes.
-
@The_Crusader said:
Dribbling isnt a counter. What do I do if they're too far to dribble? Oh thats right nothing. Something which is so situational is not a true counter. Also they can counter that "counter" with flashlights, instaheals or body blocking. They have enough time to set up for it too.
Again I already pointed this out you can slug them and it's absolutely no different from when a survivor runs to the exact same place so that when you down them you can't make it to a hook.
Now here we go with yet more excuses every group is going to be able to do that, every group is a 4 man swf swat team. Its not like you can't see them coming with a flashlight. The amount of insta heals in the average lobby is quite small.
If they bodyblock you you smack them and guess what you get free hits and then there's multiple injured survivors. Which is amazingly no different than if they body block you, use flashlights or instaheals and the person doesn't have DS.
Enduring helps but DS can still guarentee a free escape even with it, and they can still get a free escape, make it to a pallet and loop more.
Yes because there's always a pallet and loop spot every time available yet didn't you just say they go to an area where there's no hooks? If that's the case then congratulations they just ran to an area with hooks and you down them again.
Its also not like you haven't probably destroyed said pallets already that the non obsessions have already used and you obviously chase them properly to steer them away from said pallet and looping spots.
Yes you're right counter play matters, hence why DS needs to go. Thanks for agreeing.
Wrong yet again since DS doesn't need to go and you know it, it does however need to be adjusted. You have options use them instead of making up new excuses each time someone gives you examples.

It wears thin, quick.
There's not enough bloodpoints in it to put up with it.Well perhaps they could give you more bp if you smack people inside the gates and to really make it interesting the survivors could lost points if all 4 are inside the gate when you start smacking them.
For instance if they all made it out and are just standing there teabagging you each person you smack loses 650 bloodpoints. You could also get reduced cooldowns on swings for each person you hit to make them want to leave even more.
That might be a bit op but the 2nd one would definitely make all 4 want to get out.
-
@The_Crusader said:
Does it matter if theres no counter play? Theres none to DS and no dribbling doesn't count because its very situational and survivors will often run to areas with no hooks to trigger it.I'm tired of these double standards on the survivor side.
Dribbling is a soft counter, slugging them, Enduring is a soft counter, Iron Grasp, UP etc are all soft counters. The only double standard here is you using the argument that you like while ignoring anything that counters it.
AD is very situational and requires you not to be dead or on the hook when the gens pop. Balanced Landing is great if you're on say Gideons Haddonfield etc but on Autohaven you're screwed.
So the survivor runs to an area without hooks to trigger it, how is that any different from not having DS in order to get downed out of range of any hooks?
-
It's funny that people magically get rage quitters so often or that they get the 4 man sef sweaty tryhard groups so often all with DS etc. The exaggerations on both side are beyond hilarious especially when it's used to justify an argument.
To make it even funnier some of the people complaining about survivors dcing so often will lobby dodge anything they don't like or disconnect in game if they find it's wf or their totem gets destroyed.

If the killer nevre commits to a chase, you simply tap the gen.
Sure it takes a lot more time than usual, but its far from unbeatable..... dont forget that its 1vs4 and the killer has to manage 4 survivors at 3 gensYou're assuming it's a 1 v4 and not a 1v3 or 1v 2 or even a 1v1 if the gens are just far enough apart. Prior to Spirit coming out me and 2 other solos faced a really good 3 gen strat Doc on Backwater Swamp. It took us over half an hour to finally beat him.
If it's the right killer and the right gen placement it's nigh impossible to beat.
