Of course I'll be negative. The devs didn't specify that this is a buff, I don't understand the joy in this bug. It's literally a balance change. Especially when you can stand at the bottom of the stairs in the basement and shooting the survivors to prevent saves. So, now you don't need skills anymore to camp as him I guess devs as usually didn't thought about that so they did a blind change with no thoughts
Yeah, I completely agree the devs should've stated this as a buff. Aside from that camping doesn't take skill and never has..? I don't know why that needs to be the sole complaining point of this "bugfix" when he could camp before and still can now, plus its still better to camp from the top of the stairs as Executioner.

exactly we can thank the devs for nerfing endurance and other survivor perks like Vigil and Deli, even I stopped playing when I heard the news, plus Judgement is not even fun to play as or against…
I think the endurance nerf was needed from excessive body blocking. but haste and elusive should be upped to 15-20 seconds imo. Also what about Judgment isn't fun to play as and against? I've heard this from many people and am pretty curious as I find dodging the power and using it to require a bit of skill and prediction, just wanna see your perspective.

That's right, they always quietly buff killers, but as soon as it affects survivors, they immediately write about it, because they know that few will complain about it (0 balance changes for Jason recently especially totem abuser Jason), and even if so, they will simply ignore them (nuked Vigil and Deli with endurance is prime example), they are mostly afraid to hear what the killers and CCs will say, double standards, what can I say)
Keep in mind killers have also been nerfed lately, I don't think totem abuser Jason is a problem more so Thrill being super unhealthy.

why are we happy about? he can just camp basement hook easily now like Artist, Bubba, Hilly but her crows can be countered with flashlight and other survivor or he could camp basetment stairs with his power before this change? I kinda forgot you can remind and downvote if I'm wrong
We are happy about it because it made his power borderline unplayable on some maps such as the following:
- RPD
- Swamp
- Badham
- Treatment Theatre (Lerys was somehow affected by elevation even on flat surfaces)
Those are the main offenders, but there are many more maps with elevation so now he'll feel less clunky to play as any survivor with a brain next to elevation while you were getting ready to use your power would simply walk up the stairs and you were temporarily powerless.
Before these changes nothing was stopping him or any other killer from camping basement, it is entirely the survivors fault for going down near basement which is why its very important to learn death spots otherwise you could lose your team the game.
Also in the future can we tone down the negativity for quality of life changes, especially if you aren't 100% sure what you're saying is even right in the first place. :/
-
Yeah I would do the same, now I'm using Kanekis and Onis screams as a measurement.
-
Most people have learnt that the best way to play against Jason is by having people with the most hooks stay crouched and people with the least do gens during the mist in order to force chase.

Of course they should do that. Same with Nerfs. Personally I feel that BHVR is way too scary and wants to avoid backlash if they openly buff Pyramid Head, a Killer which is deemed fine by most. (Same with openly nerfing a Killer or Perk which is deemed fine)
IMO it is ridiculous that they pass those things off as fixes instead of just openly stating that they are Buffs or Nerfs. This is a Live Service Game, people should expect that Buffs or Nerfs can happen and if someone at BHVR thought that Pyramid Head is frustrating on some Maps (e.g. Swamp I would say is a good example), they should say that.
Yeah I really hope once the perk overhaul comes we start getting more consistent changes like 10 perk changes per patch and maybe 1-2 killer changes.
-
I'm assuming this is going to be used for botting which is very easily bannable.
-
Honestly it would just be better if they made these "bugs" listed as buffs instead, cause at the moment it just took 6 years to fix a bug.

They use chest spawns like all other killer objects but what chest spawns they spawn on seems to be totally random.
So can you manipulate it with shiny coins like how onryo used to be where it would force TVs to spawn edgemap?

Does Demogorgon's pounce go up stairs too? And do Freddy's dream snares work in elevations?
Either way, it's not just the ability to go up, many killer powers behave weirdly on stairs. Billy, Demogorgon and Blight all have this weird interaction that, if they are going down stairs, a survivor in their way can completely avoid being hit by crouching. Or at least that's how it used to be, I don't know if it has been fixed at some point.Demos and Freddy's does go up, also yeah crouch tech is pretty goofy
-
@Malkhrim said:
Wait, does it go up stairs too?
Because you know, a lot of killers could use that buff too. My first thought is Viktor.I think every killers power goes up elevation now aside from Twins, Doctor, (and possibly Nemesis?)
-
@Angy_Quentin said:
So it goes up AND down now? Marvelous
This is truly the biggest buff he will ever receive

I feel like Wesker pre nerfs was widely regarded as one of the most fun and balanced killers for both sides if I'm not mistaken. Kinda disappointed that the changes made it past PTB.
-
I would love to see older killers get new chase music, ideally with a longer loop. But the newer killers like Judgment, Jason, n Vecna 2 have pretty amazing chase music imo.

Artist close range power is still way ahead of judgments. artist completely shuts down a loop with one crow while judgment cant even damage close range without doing weird maneuvers.
Artist can also damage and even down a camped survivor instantly with setup. While judgment if using her exile doesn't really even know where a survivor is gonna end up not only that they can get up to 15 seconds of it
Artist also has killer instinct on misses
True a artist needs to hit her power 4 times, but if a survivor is hit by crows they need to leave the gen or they will die while also having constant aura reading. The judgment has no way of knowing if a survivor stayed on the gen after hitting them.
And Artist power is way stealthier
But also artist has 3 charges of her power, and can pressure 3 gens at once if she wanted. and her cooldown is just shorter 2
I will agree judgment is just miles better on midwich and swamp rip. but on every other map artist just seems like the better choice
I play a bit of Artist/Pyramid and will definitely be making the switch to The Judgment she'll probably be my next p100
- Artist definitely does have an insane ability to shut down loops, Judgments close range chase is still great but she cannot completely disable loops entirely.
- Judgment can also camp and hit survivors instantly without setup, there is a pretty easy way to find Shrines so its not too hard to camp them
- Judgment also has killer instinct on misses basekit now
- Her best add-on (Auroras Telereceptor) shows you the survivors aura for 4 seconds after hitting them so you do know if they stayed on the gen
- Arist crows are countered by lockers so you cannot reliably get long ranged snipes against people who know counterplay
I think artist is able to exert a lot of map pressure since she has 3 charges as you said, however Judgments snowball and chase potential is significantly stronger. Judgment does make up for not having multiple charges by getting amazing passive slowdown and passive info with heresy granting old ruin forcing survivors into shrines granting free snipes.
TLDR: Judgment does almost everything Artist does but better, the only thing I see Artist being better at is pressuring multiple gens at once and her ability to instantly shut down loops. Then again Artist is still an amazing killer despite a bit of powercreep.

I don't like the anti toxicity I miss getting free distance when people teabag or emote

Good for you people are dodging my beams with ease and are teabagging me
You gotta be patient and get good at predicting survivor movement, the only reason why I've gotten good relatively fast is because I play killers such as Artist and Executioner as they both heavily rely on prediction and map knowledge. I have had literally one person teabag me though which is unfortunate cause I wanna spread heresy.

All solid advice, man i really need shoulder the burden to come up on the shrine. That would be super handy to have trying to keep the new players alive.
It came in the shrine like last year ish iirc so you got 4-5 more years till it shows up again. I saw lethal pursuer in year 5 and just recently saw it again a few months back.
-
I sense a spongebob collab
-
Every map spawns a 3 gen to varying degrees, 9/10 times the reason you're in a 3 gen is because you decided not to pressure it from the first half of the game.
-
Midwich is the only map where she feels super oppressive, then again Middwich is great for every killer. The only other indoor maps she feels good on is The Game and Hawkins imo.
-
A: wasn't an option for us to vote on, B: Were getting a new map in December

You're talking about the Sling Shot Tech yeah?
Yeah they were referring to flicks and stuff, its not too bad once you get used to it I still miss em a bit though. (I'm assuming they were talking about slingshot)

@Hoopme said:
I think she's playable on Console and controller I'm just not gonna be able to pull off the trick flicks like pc players do
It takes a few games, but I recommend going for them 24/7 as I can now hit them pretty consistently on my Xbox controller
-
I have been consistently winning against Judgment once you get good at predicting and dodging her power its not too bad people just need time to adjust.

Both Skill Check Chance and Skill Check Bonus Progression are affected by Diminishing Returns.
That means when you use a Toolbox (40% Skill Check Chance), adding Hyperfocus (additional Skill Check Chance 2%-24%) gets halved to 1%-12%.
Hyperfocus has Skill Check Bonus Progression, but so does Stake Out, so depending on the number of Hyperfocus tokens, either Stake Out or Hyperfocus Bonus Progression is reduced by 50%
Here is a comment I made previously with more details: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4085650#Comment_4085650
Ah apparently I completely forgot that tool boxes increases the skill check amounts. Thanks for letting me know that it actually got hit relatively hard with diminished returns.
-
Has Lay Waste been getting much value? I haven't tested it yet.
-
Finally! Someone said it, Judgment is VERY console friendly I have been getting loads of kills and having loads of fun with her on my Xbox. I haven't messed with the settings much as I'm pretty used to max sensitivity since it lets you Insta 180 flick anyways.
What's been your favorite build/perk combo? I've been running Lethal Pursuer Deerstalker Celestial Witness and Gearhead paired with Auroras Telereceptor. Its a weird combo I discovered shortly after her release where after you hit someone with power you get 8 seconds of aura reading allowing for super easy two taps.
-
Today I learned: Judgement is NOT how you spell the Judgments name
-
I think pinhead is fine where he is. His power requires map knowledge, box logic, good aim for the skill shot, ect. He requires above average in the skill department and it definitely pays off once you learn him.
Unfortunately BHVR doesn't have the license anymore so no changes to the characters design can be made.
-
Everyone knows vigil is overtuned, people are mostly complaining that its 30% now. (from what I've seen)

There arent enough players to have 2 permanent mode.
Its even admitted that playerbase so small that mmr often ignored just to give fast enough matchmaking.
The playerbase isn't necessarily small it gets TONS of players, the problem is the fact that there are typically way more killer players than survivors which is why queue times are so long as there aren't enough survivors to go around.

games always fun to Me after a break. this game is best enjoyed casually. I've been casually grinding for Judgment and my games have been pretty chill, but I know that's just luck.
part of its maybe because I scheme up flavour builds and get into some funky shenanigans. People can yell at me and say things like "you can't do springtrap doors! they are inefficient bro! you're sandbagging us bro!" but it's because of what I do that Springtraps end up getting a little quirky and I get some funny matches.
For a fun build on judgement you should try out Lethal + Deerstalker + Auroras Telereceptor essentially it makes it so whenever you hit someone with your power you see them for 8 seconds (possibly 10 idk the math) and since your power is 6 seconds you have 2 seconds of full aura on the survivor for easy two taps.
I've been running Celestial Witness + Gearhead with it for more unexpected passive hits throughout the game. Its a very fun build 10/10 would recommend.

Right now yes, but it's being nerfed again in a bugfix to be 30% and only affect exhaustion
Yeah my bad forgot to clarify thats how it used to be used and now it just is used for exhaustion. Which is why I was saying it was overturned since it gave 8 effects when you only needed 1-2
-
Dude, today I got 3 skill checks while healing a downed survivor. I didn't think that was even possible, aside from how weird it is we've been getting more skill checks I don't mind it they make gens and healing less boring.

Isn't that kind of good though? If the queue shows 5+ minutes, then we don't WANT people playing that side we want them on the other side to balance it out.
True, but what I'm getting off of forums is majority of the playerbase prefers to stick to their one side.

on the chorus of sin ptb every killer felt incredibly smooth and responsive to play, and killers heavily impacted by inconsistent ping(ghoul namely) were instantly fixed because of this change, everyone who noticed it voiced their excitement and praise for the change, and mandy herself was asked about the change was said "thats what we wanted to hear" and on the live patch released today it just didnt get released? why would that be? why would a change so universally praised not be shipped?
I would assume its harder to implement into the live game rather than test servers. It could possibly be introduced in the mid season patch?
-
I mean they gave us what we asked for, it no longer works on kills and escapes only
-
My guess is people won't queue if they see 5+ minute queue times, its a bit stupid though as now I don't know whether or not I have time to do a chore while I wait.
-
Thought this was a rage post then read it and realized they were right.
-
I don't wanna be that guy but.. get good..? Its a hard killer to play on both mouse & keyboard and controller. I've been playing it on controller lately and prefer it more compared to m&k, and have been having tons of fun with it.
P.S. There are killer specific settings now! Which make it easier to control your power
Edit: it was pretty mean, but idk why you expect the killer to be super easy to learn when it's been out for an hour.

@Danoobiel said:
Honestly, the nerf nuke they dropped on the new killer killed all my hype.
I'm torn about even getting him.
I can live with powers being hard to use.
I can live with power being telegraphed.
I can't live with killers being nerfed because streamers refuse to look at the screen.
This is the community killer. How about making that one strong and accessible?
No? All right.
————And on the other side of the fence, survs are getting a gen rush boon. Also free OTR.Cool.
The nerf isn't much of a change they removed the giant indicator showing you're getting sniped anyways, the OTR off hook is better than 15 seconds of bodyblocking imo.
