  • As much as I want it to be true, that doesn’t lend much credibility. I might have believed it if there weren’t swears in the perk titles and that they’re missing some articles in their post.

  • @Masta said:

No, some killers are just meant to be unviable

That is bull and terrible game philosophy.

  • @Tru3Lemon said:

She wont get buff since shes very good and balance killer of you dont get enough kills its that you dont know how to play her ive seen alot of plahues and they ez get 4k

Really? Because I have hardly seen any. And most times I escaped (or I sacrificed myself in my friend’s place.)

Even online hardly anyone plays her. Try finding Plague tutorials on YouTube - 99% of Plague videos are from ptr. There are exactly zero (O) videos showing Plague gameplay without relatively expensive add ons.

    Plague needs updating.

  • Hannibal Lecter.

I might say Alien since it’s now Disney but idk I feel like Alien is negotiable.

  • The Dream:

    1. Freddy news
    2. Plague update
    3. Scream chapter - SURPRISE SIDNEY!
    4. Finally getting Halloween 18 cosmetics. I need Laurie to show off her guns.

    The reality:

    1. Bloodhunt
    2. Free cosmetics based on Whisperers
    3. Something to do with twitch

    Ehm..she doesnt need buffs tbh.

I used to think she was weak ,but then I relized her addons make her OP so no buffs, thanks

I feel like I shouldn’t have to say this but

You shouldn’t have to invest in add ons to make a killer work. That’s asking for a lot of time and a lot of blood points.

I play Freddy regularly without add ons and shockingly I do fine. Plague without add ons is an unnecessary and arguably unfair struggle.

If survivors are already in the exit gate you can hit them out.

If they're following you within a 16m range in the trial, you can find them and attack them, worst case scenario the game may be delayed by a few minutes. This is still an improvement on what existed before and will bring the game to a definite end.

I find survivors sticking around for a smack on the butt is increasingly rarer. They see you coming, they furiously teabag, and then run away like cowards.

Why should I give them the satisfaction of getting more blood points and the opportunity to act like a certain male appendage?

  • To be fair, killers need to see scratch marks which would blend in the collapse.

I'm confused about what prompted this topic. Did someone complain about Franklin's? It can be annoying as a survivor in certain situations but as a killer you have to dedicate a valuable perk slot to use it, so I don't think it's too strong. I used to get really attached to my items and get frustrated when dying or losing them to Franklin's. I learned to get over it.

There is a counter if someone REALLY wants to keep their item. Jump into a locker. It's a sacrifice that I've made back when BNPs were stronger.

No, but I have faced a lot of Leatherfaces with it and it just got me thinking. I also know a lot of survivors tend to be very protective of their items.

  • @Kagrenac said:

I mean items are a major part of the game. I like to bring in Toolboxes most often.

Personally I use plunderer's a lot because I have bad luck with bloodwebs. I get so many pink and purple items with it.

I don’t bring items usually so I tend to open chests for them, but I tend to not use them and hoard them up on escapes like a dragon tbh.

  • I’m worried it will end up like Symmetra from Overwatch.

  • Well I’m kind of dying as a Freddy main. Inquiring minds need to know!

  • In several ways, including but not limited to:

    1. mass disconnecting and leaving solo at the mercy of the killer
    2. using the solo as a sacrificial lamb/sandbag
    3. letting the solo hang out to dry (especially because eh you’re not in the group who cares.)
    4. just the fact that swf have triple the power of the solo and have more perks at their disposal just as a swf than a solo can use at once.
    5. solos are often just left holding the bag

It’s very rare when a swf looks out for the solo. In my experience as a mostly solo survivor, killers are more likely to be kind than actual teammates.

  • Survivors:

    1. Solos being screwed by swf
    2. Tunneling
    3. Camping

    Killers:

    1. Swf having far too much power
    2. Gen rush
    3. Map size, which relates to too many jungle gyms and extended chases which hurt killers negatively affected by MoM.

    Both:

Using bloody party streamers leads to the opposite side playing like jerks and denying bp.

  • @yeet said:

pig already sucks why do you want to nerf an already crappy killer even further?

I don’t want to nerf pig, I want to give tunneled (key word) survivors a chance.

  • I always saw shrouds as like a guarantee.

You might spawn with someone. You might not.

You might spawn with everyone. You might not.

The Entity might separate everyone. They might not.

But by using a shroud you’re either guaranteeing it or making it 50%/50% depending if counter offerings are used.

  • I might be partial to Scorching bbq because ps plus gave us dbd during that time and I loaded it up and I just really loved the slasher movie vibes.

Unpopular opinion, but the winter solstice theme started cool but after a while it was so annoying to hear in the background constantly.

Just imagine being a survivor for a moment. You wore your last purple item, with the best addons you had. You almost scape but the killer was chasing you and when you thought you scape, the game stops your character for almost two seconds exactly in the final line and the killer hits you when the screen shows you you scaped, but the kilker was wearing franklin's

No offense, but boohoo. I have been prestiging Jane and so I have been using my items (I never use items but since I am trying to get to p3-50, waste not want not) and almost every time I used a Good Item, the killer had Franklin’s. Oh well.

If you don’t want to lose your item, either make it count or accept it’s a possibility you will lose your item and try not to get hit. Maybe don’t bring items when everyone else does too - that’s literally begging the killer to bring Franklin’s.

  • For the life of me, I don’t understand how people can claim Plague is fine let alone upper tier when everything she can do, another killer can do better. Even Freddy! People say Freddy is weak (and yes, he is) but you can do so much with him when he’s not being exploited by dirty survivors.

    Plague needs buffs.

Tbh I think people who say she’s fine are only saying it because it’s in their best interest as mainly survivor players to keep her as toothless as possible.

  • Botany, self care, lightweight, and poised have been really successful for me.

Bk + sc + brown kit = 2 full self heals btw

  • @Kagrenac said:

I wouldn't mind. The only downside is that it would probably just encourage staying sick and working on gens even more.

There needs to be an actual incentive to not be sick other than the one hit down, like slower gen repair or something.

That is very true. I made a buff suggestion in another thread here:

The concept being a play off of Thana, but specifically for Plague’s power.

I feel like Plague is ALMOST there, but not quite in terms of balance and I just want her to be good. I feel a little protective towards her because I feel like she just got brushed aside and she COULD be a good killer for killers AND a fair one for survivors, unlike Mixtape Legion. I want her to succeed.

  • @thesuicidefox said:

Or just make Apples base kit. Her whole schtick is based around inflicting Broken with sickness then becoming super OP when she takes Corrupt. The only problem is that he power can be completely countered by just not using fountains until late in the game. But if she has an Apple, once everyone is Broken she can force you to use fountains because she already has Corrupt. This starts a cycle of making people sick and getting Corrupt that let's her snowball really hard.

Yeah, but corrupt hurts her already lackluster map pressure and corrupt seems to have hitbox issues more than vile does ie. You can hit someone point blank and you still can’t hurt them (also vice versa but that’s definitely rarer.)

This emetophobia buff would help her in her vile stage and guarantee people would punish themselves for not cleansing.

Although both is good. Tbh I wish her add ons allowed a more varied play style like Michael and Freddy do.

  • The only way to get rid of moris is if they were built into the game for your final death. Otherwise, aw hell no.

You’re playing against killers. Not playing ring around the Rosie. Besides, it’s fun to be moried in my opinion. I would much rather be moried than hooked to death.

And if you got rid of moris, keys should be rid of too.

  • I might sleep you, but I won’t tunnel - and I only go back to the hook when I see someone running towards you. Camping is one of the worst things you can do as Freddy, especially when the rest of his kit deliberately encourages Freddy to not camp.

Now Wraiths...it’s indeed very rare to see a Wraith who doesn’t camp or tunnel.

  • A lot of rude comments from people who didn’t fully read or comprehend the original post.

  • Nea, David, anyone else with dark clothing are easier to spot. Even Adam because he’s actually quite large, his coat (even dark blue or grey) is a telltale, as well as his hair.

Claudette’s clothes blend a little too well especially on Farm maps. I think the game could be a little brighter too, but I imagine it would be easier to just make her clothes more vibrant and brighter.

I play stealthy too, but you don’t need Claudette to do it! You can pretty much work with any clothes except the ones that practically blare out “come hither” like 90s survivors and red track suit Meg.

People defending Claudette’s ability to blend in (which btw hurts solos as much as killers because in most cases those types of Claudette will either deliberately screw you over or shadow you and leave you to be bait) sound like they desperately need it, like a crutch. It’s not fair to either side.

    No.

Why not? Theoretically, it makes sense lore wise because in the show he says it in regards to a deal/test of skill with a demon who relies on trickery and magic.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

The next Hag you will face will hook you and place 10 Traps around your hook.

Maybe. I never said all Hags are nice, just that in my experience, Hags tend to be the nicest when survivors dc and screw remaining survivors.

Even Hags that play to win I trust more than other survivors, because they are just doing their thing and will put me out of my misery soon enough - other survivors, especially with friends, do everything under the sun to make me root for the killer unless they deliberately show they’re playing well intentioned.

@pemberley and @Jackikins I still play Overwatch once in a while, and they need to transfer Kaplan and Goodman to another project. I played WoW back when Kaplan and Goodman were there, and Goodman handled class balance back when we had full talent trees. It was class talent reworks hot-and-cold running every other month, and balance just got worse. Goodman was the single reason why the wife walked away from WoW before Cata and never looked back.

If I had paid attention in Beta that both of them were on Overwatch, I'd have skipped the damned game.

The issue with them is that those in charge of Overwatch have only previous MMO-PvE experience, and it shows in spades. They should never have been put in charge of a team-heavy PvP-only shooter.

My daughter walked away from Overwatch thanks to the Mercy fiasco. It's even more a kick in the teeth now because they removed mass rez, then add in Baptiste with the damned immortality field every 20-seconds.

Anyway, from what I've seen from the Dev Update and a couple of CM posts, it does sound like Freddy got the Symmetra treatment. It sounds like he is different from the ground up, especially when they mentioned it was basically like designing a new killer, but yet remaining true to the license. So, it does sound like he's going to be completely different.

My remaining question is: Will this make him viable at high ranks finally, or is it exactly like Symmetra turned out?

    @Kilmeran

Yeah. After having left and seeing with a clearer eye, it’s obvious that they only care about money (it still grosses me out how they took advantage of people’s CHARITY and desire to defeat cancer to find a price point for exclusive legendaries) and the only balance they care about is when it involves or effects popular and marketable heroes.

I wish I paid more attention during the Mercy Murders - I played her and I was not fond of her rework either, but Symmetra was My Girl so while I didn’t like her changes and supported the Mercy Movement, it didn’t break me. If I knew then that Mercy was the beginning of Overwatch rolling back on accessible AND enjoyable heroes for their owl master vision and pretty much saying “thanks for your money and making us seem progressive disabled people, screw you and don’t let the door hit you on the way out!” I never would have gotten Overwatch in the first place. I thought it was going to be a multiplayer where I could finally play without being the weak link. Apparently being accessible was just a show for brownie points before squeezing us out of the serious, competitive scene.

Back to Freddy, I won’t mind extensive changes as long as seasoned Freddy players still had an experience edge over potential newcomers and appealed to us, as well as Freddy no longer having such exploitable weaknesses as he does now.

You have no idea how much Freddy mains such as myself are dreading this rework. He needs QoL stuff and that's it. The rest is purely about mastering his power, something none of the "Freddy's weak, hurrdurr" people have achieved. He's a more than decent Killer in skilled hands that invested a lot of time into learning him properly. By the sounds of it, severely altering his power, this rework will be a big middle finger to us -.-

I feel you, dude. I got severely burned by the Symmetra rework in Overwatch and now have a slight case of rework ptsd, and I just really hope things will be better for us Freddy folk.

  • As a (former - I don’t really play Overwatch anymore) Symmetra main whose rework completely alienated me from Symmetra and the game itself, I really hope this isn’t the case with Freddy.

Freddy is accessible and right up my alley as someone who is disabled and can’t make use of precision killers, as well as someone who adores his aura reading capacity.

Please don’t do Freddy and us Freddy players dirty like what was done to Symmetra.

I don't think any particular killer attracts nice people, tbh. I've had killers of all kinds farm or let me get the hatch or go easy because we got a DC or two.

While I have encountered all kinds of nice killers (although notably only 1 nice Pig,) nice Hags, in my experience, are more commonplace.

  • I can’t stand his HAAAAA noise. He’s so unpleasant to hear. Like my ears are being swaddled in sandpaper.

There are occasions where staying in the game is a tactical decision. And sometimes you have a different experience then the surviver. You are thinking the last one is holding the game hostage, while he is super immersed and super scared (happened to me several times).

Apart from that there truely are survivors who just want that extra like 300 BP for getting in a chase and escaping. Yeah I suffered from this thing too, it´s annoying but I guess it´s also hard to adress.

Dude, no offense but I sincerely doubt the bloody or earthy clothed Claudette who’s been running chases like a pro is super scared to leave.

The only acceptable reason to stay in the game is to save someone and make sure everyone is safe. If everyone is accounted for and no one is hooked, just leave the killer in peace and we can all go on to get blood points.

  • @Saint_Ukraine said:

    @pemberley Just kill them?

@Saint_Ukraine Just get the heck out of my swamp?

You can’t kill survivors when survivors are purposely hiding in the map, as I said in my original post and anyone with basic reading comprehension could understand.

  • @HazeHound said:

@pemberley fun is subjective. Setting bait is the best hunting method.

It’s cowardly and pathetic is what it is.

  • Slugging is fine. Sucks to be person 3 but if the killer wants to go for a 4k after playing legitimately then more power to them. If I am number 3, I will crawl away looking for that hatch though.

What is not okay is what I call prolonged slugging which is basically slugging taken to the extreme - it’s acceptable when there’s just 2 people left, not so much when everyone is still up and you camp that 1st slug trying to catch more. It’s so not fair and not fun, especially for that 1st slug, who you probably denied decent blood points to making the match worthless for them.

  • No they didn’t. Spirit got weebo stuff and Legion got a 90s collection. Plague got squat. Poor Plague has literally been shown no love, even her time in the spotlight was taken by Ash.

  • It would be one thing if the issues this came down to was that older games before April 2018 just used your original psn name, no big deal. But the issues are very cryptic and not really specific. I’m not changing until I know it won’t ruin years of work and money.

  • I really want to but as a digital game owner and trophy hunter (la noire just gave me my 40th plat) I don’t want to risk it until it’s definitely safe to do so.

  • Next to Freddy she’s my favorite both because her gameplay is fun and also I think she’s been treated as an unloved and uncared for character by Behaviour so I will love her when no one else will.

But it does genuinely bother me that she has no apparent strength, like Freddy does with his weaknesses (auras, 50% slow down) and it’s like the devs deliberately held her back because of Legion and their antics.

  • @DarkWo1f997 said:

Which will then be used to abuse and bully honorable clean killers.

Well the theory goes that us fair killers would win in this scenario because such perks could only be useful against killers that use bad tactics. Fair killers no longer get punished for doing their role, but dirty killers might struggle.

  • @Peanits said:

This would assume that four perks means one kill, which wouldn't be true in the first place. It would also generally hurt build diversity since you would have enough space to run just about all of the best perks, which would get stale sooner or later. The current system limits the number of perks you can equip so you can't become a jack of all trades.

Well theoretically that’s how it should go. However, the way the game is now, SURVIVORS can run their best perks and effectively be jacks and jills of all trades meanwhile killers must continuously sacrifice parts of their gameplay because there’s no longer enough room with 4 perks to cover the necessities to play a decent game.

Freddy shouldn’t be able to attack anyone outside of dream world. If they want to make him stronger, they need to remove the ability to do gens or heal until they’ve been woken up.

They should remove self care wake up, reverse survivor gen repair stacks aka more people on a gen slows it to a crawl, and falling asleep survivors only being able to run or vault. And awake survivors can’t body block asleep or dying survivors. These changes would make Freddy jump out of the trash can of balancing.

  • @Kilmeran said:

@DarkWo1f997 Yeah, I'm not into the whole save the world and let's all hold hands and be in a better place mentality.

So, ok. What's to stop me from just taking my irritation out on the next group of survivors I get matched against? Taking away names is not going to change the fact that if I choose to, I'm still going to vent my irritation. It just means that the next four player, who might have had zero to do with what happen, but now I won't know because I can't see who is who, get the brunt of my venting in play.

To be fair, Blizzard fails because they refuse to actually address the problem in a meaningful manner. They make players like xqc and effect owl players and in effect’s case, bow down to his petty behavior. They refuse to address the systemic hatred for Symmetra and off meta players and as a result, off meta players are often false reported into suspension.

Hiding names will do nothing in dbd, and I say that as someone who has a word in their psn name that can trigger unwanted behavior. It will just protect toxic survivors from justifiable retribution.

  • Stake out deserves more love. Ruin means little to me now - though small radius killers make me sad.

Coulrophobia Doc is rare but it’s a great perk on him.

  • In theory it sounds cool

But I think it might backfire in the sense that survivors know Doc ain’t there when he’s standing on a tree branch.
