Hillbilly could use some adjustments.
But not until more killers are buffed and it’s no longer the Billy and Nurse show.

Its because it caters to the survivor-side of Dead by Daylight. The majority. If they're having fun with the game, there's higher revenue being generated via the Store to Behavior. A happy player is a happy customer.
Seems to me that the only survivors who are truly pleased with the state of things are survivor only players who know full well the extent of control they have on the game and are toxic little nincompoops. As someone who plays both, I feel like more fun and fairness would be had all around if dbd started feeling as scary as it did when you first start playing.

I suggest a complete overhaul and making it like Iridescent King, the longer you're infected, the more ailments you fall victim to.
Things like: Exhaustion, Hindered, Blindness etc.
i dont see why this isnt baseline, (how you can use physically exhausting perks when you're so sick you fall in one hit is rather lame) but i suppose i'll take it at the Ultra-Rare rarity over not at all.
Oh god, Plague being the killer to play when you’re so gosh darn sick of exhaustion perks would be AMAZING.
That really should be baseline. It really honestly baffles me how a killer can make survivors sick and it’s pretty much just a fancy color effect with no real downsides outside of broken. Meanwhile Doc has everything that makes sense with his power. Plague COULD be Doc’s more regal, beautiful cousin if she had any actual impact on survivors.
-
I feel like all I face recently is Billy and Leatherface on ps4.
Haven’t seen Pig in a while. Same with Doc and Plague. Seriously it kind of ticks me off Plague is the new killer and it’s like she’s been completely forgotten by everyone. I want her buffed and to watch her succeed!
-
I could live with that.

@pemberley but plague isn't even close to being the worst Killer. She has tracking, a pseudoinstadown and a surprising amount of map pressure. And that's even without getting into corrupt purge.
She's not the best or anything. But she's certainly better than most Killers.
On paper, she looks decent. However in actual gameplay those elements only come to fruition through luck and investing in numerous expensive add ons. She could have strong tracking and map pressure but it’s nullified by survivors’ lack of fear of her power, how they instantly benefit from it, and her power having a time limit that slows her down to boot. Her pseudodown either requires really expensive add rare add ons or a lot of time without los blocks - neither beneficial to her as a functioning killer tbh.
She’s almost there, but she lacks too much and because of that, she’s square at the bottom with Bubba.
-
I agree. I actually think Freddy is fine for the most part - he only needs qol buffs that don’t make his weaknesses feel so exploitive (aka “I’m right here you fools, run! And f your adrenaline!”)
Legion is hard to tell since I don’t have access to the ptb, but again qol changes like making sure frenzy doesn’t go away when stunned when NOT using it.
But god yes, Bubba is definitely the second weakest killer after Plague (and it’s only because he has an instant down and hook pressure in spades; plus he has bbq) and he needs something.
Tbh he should be the one with no stun or mobility slow down when using his saw, not Billy.
-
Yes, MoM needs to get put on the chopping block.
No, MoM nerfs would not make a difference in other killers reaching Nurse and Billy level.
However, making maps smaller WOULD be both beneficial to those killers, allow the ground to adjust Billy and Nurse, and reduce the impact of MoM since theoretically the rest of the killers would have better map presence and pressure.

Swamp maps have kind of already proven that shrinking maps doesn’t fix them. I actually use to enjoy grim pantry prior to its size rework, now it’s small, had a dock added, and anytime you get into a chase they run straight for the pantry which is a mandatory minimum of a 2.5-3 minute chase without balanced landing (speaking as a Huntress main). The issue is the broken structures and loops. That is what needs to be looked into. Could you imagine Torment Creek shrunk down so every time you get into a chase they run the damn blimp thing....yikes.
I think it’s a mixture of both. Even the swamp maps are still on the larger side.
And tbh killers still have to contend with both large map sizes and survivors running to the nearest infinity gym. I think helping at least one of these issues would have a positive impact for killers.

@Pizzaman said:
If you make maps smaller you will increase the presence of low mobility killers. Yes, true. But at the same time, you will also increase the presence of high mobility killers, making them even more powerful.
I might be missing something, but this doesn't sound like a well balanced change proposal.
Theoretically, maps would be smaller then we could make other changes like:
a) lowering the distance of Billy and Nurse
b) slightly increasing clutter or los in a way that doesn’t hinder m1/r2 killers but will pose a problem for Billy and Nurse who need open spaces to operate at 100%.
-
I will immediately buy Ghostface Chapter, I just hope it’s real Ghostface and not the tv one.
Tbh the only way I wouldn’t buy a killer is if I knew immediately that it was a killer I would struggle with ie. Aim intensive because my disability struggles with that. If either Nurse or Huntress were not free, I would not have bought them.
-
It honestly baffles how low key and easy going survivor is. Survivors should be terrified and they should be grateful they made it to the exit gate, not taking a stroll through the park all the time.
Every killer should inspire the same fear and dread as hearing Michael tier up.
-
I come from Overwatch, where exclusivity is king and Blizzard preys on its consumers because of it. I will never forget (nor forgive) how they used the Mercy charity skin to price point paywall skins.
Look, I understand why you might want a special cosmetic for yourself - but it’s really REALLY not worth the predatory and abusive business/consumer relationship this would foster.
For the life of me I don’t understand why some of you are asking bhvr to screw you and your wallet over.
-
I’m absolutely sure that any player who won’t or doesn’t see how it’s SURVIVORS who are generally the nasty players (and have too much power) are either:
a) survivor players with minimal to no killer experience - and if they did play killer it was only a handful of times at rank 20 - a false impression indeed.
b) the toxic survivors who make this game and community a worse place.
There are absolutely toxic killers out there! But I guarantee they’re not nearly as common nor as bad as survivors. At least a toxic killer will put you out of your misery, even if they are mean.
-
I agree.
Tbh even if 2 people escape, that’s fine. Usually your typical scenario has 1 or 2 Final People.
But too many 3-4s escape tbh, and it comes down to survivors being able to stack overloaded kits.
-
Yes to Scream.
No to the tv knock off version.
I liked the show’s 2 seasons when it was on (and I wouldn’t mind the butch girl as a survivor tbh she was my fave) but come on
It’s like it would be getting the generic Oreos when we could get the REAL ones.
-
I think survivors need ways to be able to survive a chase, so I’m hesitant to say looping in its entirety needs to go.
I do think 360s on survivors should go, as well as the cheesy loops that seem to go on forever though. The game needs to be less Benny Hill and more like a horror movie when it comes to outrunning the killer.
-
Look, I don’t think that stealth play should be trashed - I actually think it adds to the fun of dbd - and neither should running around be considered the be all, end all of survivor skill.
I do think that Claudette and Adam, but Claudette in particular, do need to have a brighter and more vibrant change in color palette and blood splatter. The problem is that Adam’s dark clothes and Claudette’s clothes in general (because they’re very earthy to match her botanist personality) blend in too well with the maps. If Adam’s slate blue or grey coat was lighter, he wouldn’t be able to hide as well on Lery’s, same as if Claudette’s earthy pinks became more floral and vibrant to stick out more on Coldwind.
Even their prestige blood could use a little toning down. I think Adam could get a slight pass considering he’s a big guy in a white coat but he and Claudette are both unnecessarily drenched in dark blood, meanwhile Jane BARELY has any on her.

Decisive was on the shrine when it was broken and DbD didn't insatdie.

No, but it did create an unhealthy and unfriendly atmosphere between killers and survivors, and killers became fatigued.

@pemberley I think most people try to play Freddy like any other killer and that’s the reason they say that.
I haven’t played Plague enough to discuss her viability.
Yeah. Freddy is definitely the most unique killer (part of the reason I’m sad he’s getting overhauled...the man just needs qol buffs so survivors can’t cheese him when he’s got them fair and square.)
I really wanted to like Plague, I love her design, but match after match playing her showed me survivors make use of her more than she stands to gain. I think it would be fine if her giving free heals meant her power was worth that trade. It’s not. She has weak map pressure (which she COULD have in spades,) poor tracking, her getting corrupt is essentially meaningless (perhaps it could if it retained its infectious properties to injure survivors who touch a corrupt gen) and doesn’t inspire fear like evil within 3 does, and she slows herself down more than anything.
Even Leatherface, as weak as he is, has an instant down and hook pressure on his side. He is also the father of bbq - Plague perks are decently situational at best.
-
People might say Freddy, and it’s understandable given the unique bull crap he has to endure but I think he’s definitely not the worst when borderline exploitive actions aren’t taken into consideration.
But I think Plague is BY FAR BAR NONE the weakest. She literally has nothing going for her - Freddy at least has his advantages. Not only does she have nothing going for her, but she gives cleanses and heals for free and her corrupt is laughable next to Myers, tier 3 Doc, Clown, and Swing chain or Photo Freddy.

How often do you even see MoM being used? I rarely see them in my games. And even then, you’ll probably only see 2 at the very most.
I had plenty of games where I didn’t even get a chance for it to proc during the times I’ve used it too.
Consider the following:
- People DO have Ash, leveled him to 40, and now they’re waiting for it to show up in their preferred survivor’s bloodweb.
- Ash is cash money only. Ash also released in a time of not many people playing dbd.
- MoM is NOT in the shrine of secrets. Bbq was also not in the shrine, and it is not a coincidence that it was barely seen before and when it showed up you see it so much more now.
- You haven’t played against enough swf with MoM, plural or singular - even 1 MoM sets you back when their buddies have builds that help protect them and screw you over. When Ash came out, literally every group was an Ash with friends and they brought bt, adrenaline, purples, pinks, the works.
-
I think healing should be rewarded if only so saving people from the hook doesn’t feel like being a seagull from Finding Nemo.
-
It should start as soon as generator number 5 is completed. The timer also needs to speed UP when survivors are within 16 m of an OPEN exit gate.
This is the only way all those nerfs would be fair and logical, it punishes toxic survivors, and now survivors have their own penalty for camping.
-
I dislike it because it’s just one more thing survivors DON’T have to worry about.
Survivors feel so unearned escaping because the game keeps holding killers back from their true potential.
Also ######### would Jigsaw’s apprentice let their victims go without them cherishing their life? NO! And Piggy was excellent to use to finally stick it to those nasty swf. And now they have even more power while killers feel increasingly more toothless.
-
I love her as a character - she seems the nicest of the bunch
The people who play her though are 8/10 times toxic dirtbags. I will never play survivors with more than 1 Claud who also have dark or bloody clothes again. Hostage taking mechanic exploiting scumballs.
-
Maybe they’re just trying to make sure they get their share of the party.
It’s just as if not more likely that survivors will purposely deny the killer blood points while they’re laughing their way to the blood bank.

Im a Freddy main and at this point i quit debating, just let the rework come, it will surely be a total nerf that guts him completely.
Im just posting this so i can tell everyone "i told you so".
Ugh this patch just confirmed to me that we are either going to hate the rework and Freddy will be weak af, or it might be tolerable only for him to be nerfed on ptb at survivor’s requests.
-
LOGICAL KILLER UPDATE
Each down speeds up gens by 10%. Each hook speeds gens by 25%. Wiggle time is now 7 seconds.
-
Not really when you consider everything survivors have to their advantage. It quickly becomes obvious that killers are being deliberately muzzled and held back for survivors comfort.

This is part of the End Game changes. With the Survivors on a short timer, they can't afford to go around taking a trap off before leaving. Putting a trap on a Survivor after the End Game has already started would be a death sentence particularly when paired with Blood Warden. Traps applied before the last generator was powered will still be active, so you'll still be able to
These changes are just on the PTB for now, though. We'll keep an eye out for feedback and make changes if needed.
I hate to break it to you but 3 minutes is not short at all. The egc is not a threat to survivors at all. They need to have to want to die for it to be threatening.
It MIGHT be understandable if the egc started at gen 5, but it only starts after a gate has been opened.
But hey, I guess survivors need to be coddled right?
-
Literally the only way survivors will die to the egc is if they want to die. Monto had 2 matches and at least half of that time was him just finding the ideal spot to die in for dramatic effect.
This doesn’t punish THOSE swf at all - they’ll just stay in the match to 2:59 teabagging and spamming noise notifications to try to lure you into witnessing their mockery.
This patch seriously makes me question the point of playing killer anymore unless you’re a masochist.

Haha, you figured that out on your own? Good, now go make Behaviour understand all of that because killers have been saying the same thing for a looooong time and devs dont seem to get the idea...
They literally said that if you want to be competitive, aka be a scary killer, you have to play either Billy or Nurse. Now killers are playing those characters more than ever, just like the devs wanted...
Good job devs :)
I keep hearing it said that the devs want killers to be “fun” and I was just trying to address why that was inherently false.
They are wrong about Billy and Nurse. Other killers should be as viable as they are if only to spare survivors from further monotony. IT IS NOT FUN FACING BILLIES BACK TO BACK (or any killer for that matter - it sure seems on ps4 Billy and Leatherface are every other game.)
-
@Arroz said:
No, better make the 75% opening exit gate buff to wake up.
Or
Hear me out
We make it stackable with Wake Up.
Suddenly, we could have a rise of lone wolf builds - LB, WU, Sole Survivor, SC.
We could even buff LB to include a stealth perk like have noise and gen notifications be delayed by 3/4/5 seconds when active.
Call me crazy, but we should be giving attention to things that need help (ie. Solo survivors, killers being held hostage, killers being weak in general to swf, unused perks, etc.) instead of further empowering things that benefit the toxic survivors we want to curb (stomp.)
-
Fun for me is quite simple.
I want to feel like I’m in a horror movie. Will I survive? Will I sacrifice myself so my friend can live? Will it be for nothing and we both die? Same with playing killer. Did I scare them? Did I make them scream with joy at being in the exit gates?
This patch has made it clear that I know I will survive as a survivor and that as a killer, my job will be to give the survivors blood points as they clearly don’t take killers seriously.
-
@xmidnitejokerx said:
He doesn’t need to be a top tier killer, the main reason for the rework is going to be the fun factor of the game. I think ppl will be disappointed when they find out he won’t be some S tier killer they’re expecting.
Fun for who though? I think Freddy is fun to play as and against.
It’s not “fun” for the killers to be run around and gen rushed and bmed by dirty survivors who are very much aware of how much power they have.
-
@Mc_Harty said:
How would that even work? The only noticeable thing Ghostface does is asking people about horror films.
I like him but what would even be his power?
You could do a lot of things with Ghostface.
Remember a BIG part of the movies is that Ghostface is somebody Sidney either knew, loved, or trusted.
You could do something with Ghostface being a famously double role.
Ghostface could also join the ranks of Doc and Freddy and Michael and be really strong with tracking and aura reading. Because Ghostface always plays and stalks the victims.

Oy vey, another Legion.
Legion were just a bunch of punk kids who didn’t even mean to kill the dude. Legion is what the beginning of I Know What You Did Last Summer was.
Ghostface wants to kill and will kill in spectacular brutal fashion. Legion wishes Legion was Ghostface.
-
I love Jane’s. I really love how all of her clothes are pretty and mix and matchy.
I also love David’s. I kind of wonder if there’ll be more 30s clothes for the girls. Jane would look really lovely with the old timey look.

Not a big fan of "culture Killers" tbh. I'm not huge into lore, but I do appreciate that aspect of a Killer. Licensed Killers are too pigeon holed, no cosmetics, no imagination.
It's Ghost Face....guess what...it's Meyers with a new skin (pretty sure a big knife was the weapon of choice; Buck 120).
I like legends, I like creativity...I mean, if your going to do a licensed Killer, why not Hellraiser (Pinhead)?
My favorite Killer is Huntress...I mained Billy until she came along. I really enjoyed Billy, but as one of the original 3 wise men, it was an obvious nod to Leatherface.
Ghostface is NOT Myers nor the other way around. Literally the only thing they have in common is a shared affinity for butcher knives and that Randy was almost killed watching Halloween.
Ghostface is arguably more brutal (and definitely more hot blooded) than Michael. Michael is ruthless and otherworldly whereas Ghostface directly highlights the malice and bloodthirst of people. Ghostface is also a rather unique commentary on the American idealism of mass murder.

@HorsePower said:
Finally another bad killer leaving, go cry somewhere else. Removal of SWF will kill the game anyways.
Honey
You need killers to play the game.
Playing with friends (you know not being sweaty little jerks) should be encouraged tbh - I’m on console so swf are more common and removing swf would take away some appeal - but swf should NOT have as much power as they do, and as a result they need to be nerfed and/or killers need to be worthwhile to play against them.
-
The ONLY acceptable change to moris would be if they were built into the game so on your third hook the mori would happen.
Being hooked to death is so vanilla. Even the entity has a much cooler kill than being plopped on a hook.
-
You leave my meat plant alone!
I love it. Y’all just mad there’s no corn for you to hide in plain sight.
It’s definitely a killer sided map but survivors still have fighting chances between the pallets, drop points, and knowing exits are always on top and trap door is on the bottom.
-
@Tru3Lemon said:
Now killers want toolbox to only be used on hook to sabo another item that will become useless later ppl want flahslight not to blind xd
If you think toolboxes would be useless without being used on gens, you are either aware of how strong it is on already fast repair times or you are very biased and inexperienced to not know proper balance.
It would take power away from the gen rush, killers would dodge less upon seeing more than one toolbox, killers could choose to use Hangman’s Trick if they’re still uncomfortable and it would get 100% value instead of trying to guess if that Nea is a gen jockey or saboteur, and toolboxes would become equivalent to health kits and self care.
It would be fair.
-
Toolboxes should only work on hooks.
-
I love bbq on Freddy because it helps find that awake survivor and you get a ton of blood points.
Nurse’s is underrated because Freddy is a smol boy and his invisibility helps take advantage of those extra 4 m.
Don’t be afraid of overcharge. With the right perks and add ons they will suffer. It’s great against THOSE swf who insist on humping gens in front of you.
Surveillance is really good on Freddy. Same with discordance.
Dying Light + mori + black box = a nightmare
Remember me buys Freddy time and fits with his play style of hit and run.
Enduring is good for pallets.
Freddy is a killer that has access to a lot of fun and creative perk combos.
-
I get dodged as a solo sometimes. I chalk it up to them thinking I’m part of their group.
Killers don’t like it when multiple toolboxes or flashlights are in the lobby. It usually signifies a bad time.
-
Tbh I think toolboxes should only be used for sabo.
I think it would be fairer. It would stop the gen rush AND if killers see toolboxes they can choose to use Hangman’s Trick.
-
I do not see the appeal of what makes Billy so fun and meta. Maybe it’s because I have issues with high speed action, but both Billy and Legion are uncomfortable and disorientating to use.
NEW ds should be buffed to work on second and third hooks. It should pause when killer is on attack cool down and missed checks shouldn’t disable it.
Freddy only needs buffs, then he’d be solid. He is actually pretty good and does not need a rework.
Lightweight and stake out are best survivor perks.
Swf should have 1 perk taken away for every member and killers should gain a 50/75/100% bonus bp stack for dealing with them. Killers should also gain a perk for every member. You want to gloat and wave your e-p around? Don’t be afraid of a little challenge.
-
Poised, stake out, lightweight and perk of your choice.
