Damn.. MoM has upset some killer mains
I’m not a killer main since I actually play both sides. I just can empathize with killers because mom is a bull crap perk that rewards their mistakes and punishes killers for doing their role.
-
The only universal killer buff needed is that killers should be viable WITHOUT add ons. It really galls me when biased survivor mains who probably play dirty with friends are all “ugh killers don’t need buffs just use these really rare and expensive add ons loser.”
It actually kind of annoys me how I regularly play with no items and survive just fine, but as killer you definitely feel the pain without add ons.
That said, Plague and Freddy need buffs.
-
I’m currently working on Jane since I decided she’s going to be my main and therefore get all the perks.
I haven’t decided if I am going to prestige my other survivors like David, Nea, and Claudette because with the exception of Claudette I dislike their default bloody clothes - and I feel dirty considering leveling Claudette. I would have prestiged Nea if her flannel was bloody, but alas.
I main Freddy and am seriously considering prestiging him since he’s my main killer and I don’t use cosmetics on him like I do with Victorian Doc. I might give Michael a bloody knife.
-
I love Buffy! But tbh a better survivor would be Cordelia since she doesn’t have unparalleled hand to hand combat but she does have visions which could make for nice aura reading perks.
And Cordy deserves better than what she got.
Also I think Angelus would be a better killer tbh. Or a Gentleman.

Can I just add im getting lobby dodged so hard as Ash. God damn babies.
Literally on PS4 went through 12 lobbies (really long wait times too )with the killer backing out each time. Got into a game eventually and got tunnelled off the hook and mori'd lol. Point is don't be scared of Ash its a game he can die just as easily as any other survivor.
I'll qoute the great Nick Diaz "don't be scared homie"
It literally did not take a genius to figure out how strong mom is and it was even faster for swf to concoct heinous builds that make killers want to hook themselves. I don’t blame killers for dodging Ash if they already had to deal with MoM bull crap.
Imagine if instead we got Evil Ash as a killer. His mom is every 3 hits, the 4th is an immediate instant down in exchange for being on candy camera for the survivors outside of 12 m until the hooked survivor dies or heals. You survivor mains who can’t be bothered to empathize with killers would literally be crying bloody murder.
-
People spent money on Michael and Dying Light got unjustly boned.
People spent money on Laurie, survivors are still playing after the ds adjustment.
People spent money on Pig when Surveillance was literally an example of “why would you take this perk anything is better than this perk.”
People spend money on characters for two reasons:
1) They want to collect all perks available without waiting for the shrine, no matter how dull they are so the characters they DO play have a full library.
2) They like the characters.
tldr - so fricken what if people who bought Ash just for MoM have their knickers in a twist over it getting nerfed. You can’t play dbd without killers!

If killers get something then the survivors who actually stick around should get a little something too.
They’re the ones that still have to get gens done a man (or two) down.
Fairness.
I would suggest that first the game should develop a system that detects swf
Then any dc rewards SOLO players with the dc’s would be blood points. Swf should be exempt because they can go suck a cactus with their exploitive abusive behavior.

@Andreyu44 you’re trying to imply that survivors that manage to survive for over 10 minutes before they start dying, throwing their toolboxes (and anything else they have at gens) must be potatoes?
Freddy’s that get gen rushed have allowed that to happen, not because of some inherent weakness. Freddy by default has a way of mitigating gen rush and waste the survivors time in a way no other killer can (Legion comes second at wasting survivors time). And yes you’re right, Freddy can be looped, that’s why Freddy’s need to smarten up and not participate in loops and just keep up the gen pressure and the Dream Demon pressure.
You are one strange little man and you have my pity - Buzz Lightyear
Oh hey, speaking of Buzz, Buzz could do cool aerial tricks - but he was still a toy that could not fly. That’s like Freddy - we can have good games IT STILL DOES NOT NEGATE THE FACT HE IS THE WEAKEST KILLER.
Not many people vs Freddy as opposed to other killers, so their inexperience screws them up. But the swf who are sweaty little try hards know how to play against Freddy and it is hell.
Freddy is actually weak af against gen rush. Those 7 seconds survivors are falling asleep mean nothing to gen rushers because UNLIKE THEIR ANIMATION they can keep doing actions at full speed and skill checks break the cycle. Freddy is literally powerless against gen humping and is forced to watch survivors stay on gens as they fall asleep because those gens will be done in 7 seconds or less.
And FUN FACT survivors wake up faster or fast enough to be moot than it takes Freddy to sleep people - AND awake survivors CAN body block asleep survivors from Freddy attacks. Combine those two things together and you’re in for a painful ride with Freddy.
I’m sorry dude, but you’re wrong.

So you think it's a good idea for the devs to create perks that are completely useless against particular killers? According to 90% of this community, it seems, Freddy has been the worst killer since soon after release. He was released what like 2 years ago almost? Why would you still play him if he's that awful?
I play Freddy pretty regularly and have a lot of fun.
Um yeah, especially when there are already multiple survivor perks that counter killers back like calm spirit and Doctor. Survivors just have to take that chance. They can still play because I know for a fact from experience you can get bp and survive with no items and just 1 perk. Items and perks are just gravy for survivors, meanwhile killers need them just to compete properly.
I like and play Freddy because in spite of his weaknesses, his play style, perk and add on diversity, and aura reading appeal to me.

@thesuicidefox said:
As someone that was a Freddy main for some time, I don't get this whole "Freddy is the worst killer so he needs to be exempt from this" philosophy. Freddy hits with a basic attack it should count.
Not to mention, Freddy is getting a rework. When is the big question but I'm sure he will jump up a few spots on the tier list afterwards. Are we gonna then go and find the next worst killer and make them exempt from stuff?
Dude
Freddy is the ONLY killer that gives survivors 7 default seconds headstart. Freddy is the ONLY killer uniquely and unfairly boned by Adrenaline because of this.
He does not need mom added to his list of troubles.

Another reason I play Nea. Where else can I find nice flannels?

I’m prestiging with Jane (1/3) because I like how she’s not a skinny minnie high school student - she also has really cute outfits that go well together.
I would say my other mains would be David and Nea, and sometimes Claudette. I like blood points, helping people, and being stealthy. Also shirtless David is nice to have.

I still feel like Thana was nerfed because of Legion...
Let’s be honest I think a lot of things were changed because of Legion.
Plague literally providing free fast health kits
And now that I think of it, MoM sure sounds like an anti Legion perk.
Too bad every other killer who did nothing wrong has to pay for Legion’s mistakes.

they're not necessarily designed around it, but they definitely help with getting camped, tunneled, or facing an extremely hard game to win such as an omegablink ruin nurse. not a great feeling when you're trying to play some wholesome wraith and you get with 4 mettle of man's, but it's also extremely satisfying having that perk setup when facing off against purple addons spirit. that is just 1 of the problems with the game, strong ######### vs weak #########.
Well that’s the thing too. I don’t want to play Nurse (I’m also on console so rip) or Billy or Leatherface or Spirit. I don’t like how they feel and I greatly prefer Freddy, Doc, Michael, Hag, and Wraith (although only because I get his challenges a lot.)
Killers of all types should also not need good add ons just to compete with the decked out survivors.

Yes, stamina bar for killers as well.
Oh honey, killers pretty much have a stamina cool down. It’s called missed and hit attack cool down, where killers cannot harm (without mad grit) and move very slowly. And that’s not even going into their actual power like Leatherface or Nurse.
-
We finally got ds fixed and dbd just had to be all “hey killers, you thought ds was fun wait until you run into head on (let’s be perfectly honest, that was literally designed for those cocky locker jukers) and mom and ff!” It’s a bit like trading getting glassed in the face for getting the crap beat out of you with a baseball bat.
Don’t get me wrong I am ALL for second chance perks on the condition it’s a genuine second chance and you’re being tunneled and camped but in the current state of the game, it’s not a second chance and more like freebies and taunts to troll killers.
-
@thesuicidefox said:
Because killers are saints that are never obnoxious? Right, sure.
Never said that. I know there are mean and nasty killers out there. However, they are literally outnumbered by survivors who are as well.
You get a nasty killer, you move on to the next game after you die. You get nasty survivors, yeah you can just move on to the next game but vsing them is draining as all heck and you run the risk of getting other nasty survivors - which is more likely than the reverse since survivors are 4 and killer is just some person who you can tell what kind of player they are after a bit in the match with them and get out as soon as you please.
-
@basicpitch said:
And survivors endure killers who camp, stream themselves camping but this is allowable. Hex:Ruin, Corrupt intervention, Overcharge. And a stand off with the last gen or two where the Plague vomits on them can cause a turtle.
When on my killer, if SWF comes into the lobby, I just leave the lobby. I play both fairly equally and can see both sides.
Survivors who are camped to death have the SMALL mercy of getting into another game. Killers don’t have that luxury against nasty survivors. They’re forced to stay until survivors choose to leave or listen to your idle threat of dcing if they don’t gtfo.
I try not to dodge unless I have had a bad day and don’t want to go against nasty try hards hellbent on causing misery. I too play fair and square on both sides, and therefore because I play both I know that there is a big power imbalance in favor of survivors, and killers need to be buffed. Survivor should not be the easy peasy walk in the park while killers are the ones scared to go past lockers. Playing survivor anytime should feel like how most survivors feel against mirror Myers with an Ebony Mori. Scared and at least feel like they survived by the skin of their teeth.
-
@ClogWench said:
Idk we've gotten some pretty solid killer perks in the last year.
And it really don’t mean squat when you consider survivors have:
1 goal easily met by locker hopping
16 perks collective. There’s always more than 4 altogether.
And killers have:
Multiple goals with a lot of caveats, ifs, and buts
Only 4 perks max to cover the multitude of things they have to defend and help themselves with
You’re always sacrificing something with killer load outs - and it’s not survivors because whoops you chose Franklin’s to stop the 4 item group but you’re still being gen rushed even with Ruin (which probably got found or destroyed before you even got to check on it.)
-
@Master said:

Oh the same Plague who got unnecessarily nerfed from the ptb and whose design literally screams “hey survivors! Sorry about Legion! Here’s free instant heals!”
You cannot tell me Plague is even as remotely threatening for survivors as literally pretty much any other killer (except Nurse on console.)

I feel the same exact way! Sure, visualizing it from a high point makes it seem like it doesn't do much, but add corn, walls, and other Line of Sight blocking objects and the 3 seconds subtracted can be the difference between a trail to follow or nothing but dust
EXACTLY! And the video didn’t show it, but I’m 99% positive that lightweight footsteps ARE lightweight in the sense that from a killer POV on the trail, lightweight footsteps show up a little fainter too.
Lightweight is a good perk. It rewards survivors for evading, it makes running less risky (and it’s excellent for stealth,) but it’s not so powerful against a killer with good tracking. It’s a balanced perk.
-
People are dissing lightweight or think it needs a buff and frankly, I disagree. It’s incredibly useful and perk adaptable without making a survivor op. I love lightweight. You don’t see a difference? I’m sorry to hear that.
I know that when I’m a survivor, I survive more with lightweight.
I know that when I’m killer, lightweight makes it hard af to find survivors with it. Also good luck finding footsteps in the corn or in maze like maps.

Accessibility is a difficult argument in a game like this, because people can abuse that to gain an advantage.
Having said that, options I would like to see:
Tapping for struggling.
Wiggling of the stick for hook struggle.
The choice to spread tapping across two buttons instead of just one.
The ability to change key binds for struggling.
And just for fun, sixaxis.
Um, no offense, but it’s literally about a button press. It literally cannot be abused anymore than it already is (letting go, afk) but it would help people’s fingers and controllers and keyboards. There is no skill in pressing x repeatedly or wiggling to escape before hook - it’s just a burden on your equipment.
-
xeno would be amazing! We also need Ripley and a Nostromo map!
Also I do think the Alien would comply with the Entity. Not only could it think it a Queen but when you watch the movies, the Alien will either a) kill or b) injure and use humans as a host. Dbd has already proven with Pig and Plague that maps can be specifically altered for each killer; instead of hooks, survivors can slowly be webbed up by the Entity.
-
I agree Plague does need buffs. I mean it’s a little ridiculous that for Freddy’s weaknesses he has some definite pluses that a good Freddy can take advantage of - Plague doesn’t have ANYTHING in her favor, meanwhile survivors get free heals!
I get it. Devs probably did not want another Legion on their hands, but they need to put their foot on the Plague pedal a little more because she’s just not effective. It’s a little sad that Freddy and Leatherface, both extremely weak killers, have things in their favor that make people who play them want to play them (ie. Aura tracking, instant down and potentially more maneuverable than hillbilly (LF isn’t locked into a straight line.))
Coming from Overwatch and maining Symmetra, I am a little saddened once again the woman character who looks and acts like a fierce queen is once again cast to the bottom of the barrel.
-
Ps4 user here. It went on ps plus in August and my friend, who previously had it, kept recommending it. I really like slasher horror and I thought this game was really cool.
Ironically Friday 13 came to ps plus in October and I thought it was gonna knock my socks off...it did not and it paled in comparison to dbd. Mostly because I could not understand how to play and I could not stand being forced to spectate after death until game over, even when your friends died too.

Unless you wonna depip and get BP penalty ignore the survivor. Also, if you just wanna be douchy but karma does work both ways 😏
It’s not douchy to rescue someone who will die if you don’t try to rescue them because no one else will and who barely got to play the match and get blood points. At least they will have a chance.
-
This idea is absolutely ludicrous with the current state of items.
Killers can stop seeing items when items no longer have op add ons and are generally only useful to solos (aka no more toolbox stacking) and maybe have a 1 carry on item per survivor limit.
When survivors stop popping trap door required gens before the killer can get their bearings and make the rounds, maybe then we can talk.

Because some are kind of jerky like that? It’s happened to me where I put in bps and either the killer will dc or a salty swf who got hit will start a chain dc, which leaves me and the killer in an unpleasant situation. It’s also happened where nasty killers see one or more bps and they purposely go ham on survivors and deny survivors points OR vice versa with nasty survivors denying killer points.
Some players just want to watch the world burn.
-
Poised does not require you personally to finish a gen.
Lightweight tier 3 means the killer needs to pay close attention to the scratch marks or you need to be in their los, it’s practically invisible footsteps.
Watch out if you use mint rag on Hag. She can teleport anywhere for 15 seconds but this also means she herself triggers her own traps. Found this out the hard way.
Pay attention to your toolbox and add ons. Some specifically benefit repair or sabo, so don’t use them Willy nilly.

See, that depends on how to define a win. For me, it is just getting enough bloodpoints. And the number of bloodpoints as a goal is going to vary between players, and lead to debates that just go around in circles (and insults at some point), so I'm not going to say what amount of bloodpoints I consider a good match for me.
I don't care if I 4k. I don't care if I pip. Rank is something I could not possibly care any less about. If I want to play for rank ever again (fun tip: I don't), I'll go back to Competitive Overwatch. I gave-up on that style of play over a year ago, and have no desire to ever sweat about rank again. But if I did, then I sure as hell wouldn't waste my time on this sorry excuse for a rank system.
I play Killer in DbD to play in a little horror film vignette. Me versus four survivors. I'm nearing 50 years old, my days of sweating in a video game are in the past. I play for fun and use DbD to relax. If I want to go full-tilt PvP on a given night, then I'll log into Overwatch or Apex Legends that night. I'm not going to use a 1v4 asymmetrical hide-and-seek game for that.
As far as survivors escaping, I also look at it this way: Myers got absolutely bullied by Jodie, her daughter, and granddaughter in Halloween (2018). Poor guy got one kill on those four, on the daughter's husband, and three survivors escaped in a bad way. Freddy never gets all his planned kills in the end. Jason is beat every film. If my survivors escape that trial, oh well. That's what ultimately happens in the Slasher genre.
That is actually a really insightful way of looking at 0-1ks. Thanks for the perspective! Maybe next time I play against what I suspect are seasoned swfs I will remember this so I won’t feel so toothless. I mostly try to play for the blood points - I get points and bbq/wglf I’m happy.
-
@Itq said:
Killers keeping addons would be stupid af. You think that anyone plays survivor after that when every game is against killers with most powerful addon combos? Well.. at least i don't. It's already now close to that thanks to BBQ.
Do you play killer regularly? Because if you did, you would know what you’re so outraged against is applicable to survivors and their bnps and syringes and green and purple items.
Heck, when it comes to toolboxes, even the brown ones can put a time crunch on a killer. Especially with add ons that can effectively turn it into a yellow or green effectively.
-
Dcing happens either when:
1) Petty survivors don’t have the stones to get hooked, let alone die
2) Petty killers can’t take a fair and square loss or are a bit jerkish to purposely deny bloody party streamers
3) Nasty survivors made the killer so miserable that the killer thought dcing was worth it
4) The off chance the game or your internet died. However, as a solo survivor and killer, the usual suspects are definitely 1, sometimes 2, and understandably 3.
-
@tomikomPL said:
And what about not seeing killer, but only getting information about his nickname and steam profile? People usually write comments about player, the most if he is a camper or tunneler it can be helpful to play for fun what in my opinion should be the most important in every single game. 2nd thing is i just wanna know with what type of player i am playing against, what is his name etc.
I think playing for fun (on BOTH sides) should be optimal too.
But that’s asking for too much personal information to be at the mercy of a 4 man group hellbent on trying to make the killer miserable. If you want to be friends with a killer, you can always wait until after a match. If you have been facing some nasty killers employing anti fun tactics, make a build that counters camping and tunneling.
I’m sorry but this suggestion sounds heavily survivor sided.
-
Well that sounds like a surefire way to make killers stop killing.
That would seriously only increase toxicity and misery towards the killer.
Like not only could you build specific builds to completely neuter the killer but you seriously want killer ids to be shown too? Do you not see how the 4 (usually friends usually toxic) would abuse this information against the 1? There’s already a problem (at best it’s petty and salty af, but I mean at worst it could get genuinely nasty) with nasty survivors trying to tear into a killer post death or post game - before a game though? That’s just asking for too much trouble.
-
Any map that has Field in the name can go chomp a rotten haddock.
Haddonfield has enough going for it with the houses and verticality. It doesn’t need all of those extremely long fences which weren’t even in the movie. I don’t like it as survivor or killer, but especially killer.
Rotten fields I can’t stand at all, something needs to be done about how heavily survivor favored it is, to the point that even average old me knows I can run into the field and run a good chance of losing the killer midchase because I am invisible. I only trust Freddy on that map and it’s only because of his aura reading ability.

He has weaknesses and needs buffs, but having built in wall hacks, deerstalker, nurses, and a potentially nastier Thana is pretty cool. You also can’t see him unless you’re asleep - and he can still see you. Bye bye OoO!

Right now, it takes a 99.999% gen 280 seconds to regress to 0%. Yours would take almost 4x that.
I did not know that. I thought it was like 1% every 30 seconds. My bad, I can’t math. But obviously my intention was to make the killer’s kick do some serious enough damage that tapping midchase won’t fix.

I would like to think the good part of Ash releasing is that maybe with him, the devs will also do some needed balance updates. Especially for Plague. I feel sorry for Plague...she’s just so overshadowed. Thas's because there are generally two licenses you need. The first is for the fictional character from the copyright/trademark holder. The second, is for the actor's likeness, which you have to get from the actor. Sounds strange, I know, but that's how it operates.
Bruce is easy to work with, especially when it comes to his likeness for Ash Willaims. I fully expected the in-game avatar to look like him.
For Freddy, I wasn't shocked at all that it didn't look like Robert. He's a real ass to work with when it comes to his likeness, and expensive as all hell.
Didn’t Robert Englund die a few years ago?

https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/000/KL705H9H5MPA.png
See ? Already happening.
InB4: "Do you have a problem with our new anti-toxic killah tool ?
I would be totally fine if second chance perks were specifically designed to combat nasty killer play ie. camping and tunneling and prolonged slugging (you know what I mean, they refuse to pick you up or let anyone come near you - not just being unlucky number 3.)
But they don’t work like that. And swf in particular purposely exploit them to not work like that. Instead what would genuinely be a second chance at playing the game is actually nasty survivors purposely extending chases and denying killer blood points while they shower in them themselves, making the killer experience miserable and encouraging them to play dirty back.
Dirty toxic survivors are the root of dbd’s problems - you want to stop camping, tunneling, dodging, and dcing? Look at survivor (particularly swf) behavior, and remember the person playing killer is also just a person looking to have some fun.
-
I’m worried about what this means for killers, especially MoM. We just got cured of ds and surprise ds ruining momentum, survivors (especially with friends) really really don’t need yet another safe second chance perk.
-
My psn is Jane Austen related (jaustengirl) but I didn’t want to risk being harassed - and since my name was taken already, I chose to go back to Austen and pemberley sounded the most lyrical (as opposed to say NorthangerAbbey.)
if psn ever goes through with name changes, I might switch it to pemberley. Maybe then I won’t have to contend with creepy messages and random friend requests you know were made just because of the “girl” in my name.
-
Plague has a few too many weaknesses and not enough oomf to make you go “I want to play Plague,” (you know, beyond aesthetic reasons.)
Let’s look at Freddy, a killer everyone agrees needs buffs. For all his weaknesses, he has things that make people like me want to play and get good at him - his beautiful aura reading, his slowing the game down, his bp gain, his total invisibility, and his perk and add on diversity to name a few.
Plague has none of that. All she has is the ability to demonstrate how much you disregard toxic survivors and looking like a fabulous queen.
If survivors get free heals (let’s not pretend this wasn’t a direct reaction to the tedious nature of vsing Legion) there should be a significant power boost to her vomit or power or both. Survivors should slowly get sick in her terror radius, broken survivors should become exhausted and their vaults and staggers should be slower, there should be more vomit visual cues like a built in bloodhound, and being sick should slow down gens.
-
And another thing:
As a killer, bloody party streamers mean that mean spirited survivors try their best to give each other points but even when I’m going out of my way to show I’m nice, they refuse to give me any.
As a survivor, I put in bloody party streamers and the killer goes extra hardcore and purposely denies survivors any or any opportunity to gain some. Then have the gall to shake their head and hit you repeatedly.
-
Definitely survivor. Literally the only second chance killer perk is noed.
-
It’s already bull crap it wakes you up AND heals you AND make you super fast.
It should be nerfed and only be able to do one of the above, not all. Especially waking up - now that is some real specific dirty bs.
