Bruh self care isn't even a perk at this point , it was already so trash but now it can take almost the time equivalent of doing a regular gen, what are the devs even thinking , might as well completely rework the perk , they just flipped a few no. Here and there
Can't wait until they decide it's still too strong and put the percentage at 10% and increase base healing to 32 seconds
All while directly buffing coulrophobia and sloppy butcher as well

We can all agree that the nerf on billy is very unneeded. There are very few billy mains left and this nerf is going to make finding a billy man almost impossible. Lets also talk dead hard. I 100% do not agree with this nerf because dh only works 2/10 times when you use it. It is already nerfed to the ground. Hardly works anymore. And their nerfing it? “It’s overpowered” how? The fact that you need to know timing to even use it properly then it doesn't work even with the timing? I don't understand it at all.The healing i understand somewhat. But 24 seconds? Not including status effects that can make it double that? The whole point of circle of healing is being able to heal yourself without a medkit. Whats next? Going to do that with self-care too? It completely defeats the purpose of the perk itself. Just take it out of the game at that point.
Self care is getting nerfed in this update
So I mean, unless you like healing for upwards of 1 minute then it pretty much already is

There's no point in giving those little nerfs to her, she will still have no counterplay, she's not even that hard to learn. Just play some matches consistently and you'll eventually learn how to play her. Either just remove her completely and thus refunding anyone who bought anything for her or rework her. The latter is more reasonable but since Behaviour doesn't seem too keen on it... I want to add that I'm a killer main, I just started to play survivor more lately and the game is plagued with nurses. I think the fact that some perks were balanced around her is completely ridiculous, she's the problem, fix it.
Honestly I had hoped that the lightburn mechanic would be buffed eventually.. not straight up removed

At least on the survivor side. Currently, I'm Iridescent Grade 4 and I'm surprised I can get 3 gold emblems and 1 silver and it only counts as a safe pip. 3 generators done, one alone and two with another (Gold), 2 survivors saved and 1 healed (Gold), chased a fair bit (silver) but downed once and still escaped (Gold). 3 survivors escaped and 1 died. A full game played out, I did a bit of everything and escaped yet didn't get a single pip.
Also it's dumb that you're able to depip, when so much is out of your control as survivor. You could get camped and tunneled out and lose a pip, you could end up going against a bad killer who never gets a down, or one that tunnel and camps your teammate, denying you of certain emblems. Generally I think depipping should be removed from both killer and survivor and only happen if they disconnect.
When I play killer, I don't really worry about Emblems cus I get them just playing normally. I'm already Grade 1 killer, because it's double as easy to pip as killer, as long as you're doing decently well, you are guaranteed at least one pip. As a survivor, I feel like I have to go out of my way to do a bit of everything to even get a single pip at the higher grades.
Escaping through the gates should guarantee one pip, then the emblem system calculates if you deserve a second one. It's just crazy to me how a game, like the first one I described, I only got a safety pip despite doing so much and escaping.
100%, at least depipping should be removed
I'm baffled how there's so many posts of these, just like the killers complaining abt dead hard, and they're nerfing it, yet they won't do anything about depips? I cannot recall a single person in favor of depips on either side

Finally. Toxic killers who waste time by not hooking survivors largely solved.
Start a debuff of X% after 20 seconds of not Hooking a dead Survivor. Progressively increases every Y seconds (10 seconds or so).
Alternatively, make work of (perma-)banning these killers.
Thanks!
How is not hooking survivors toxic? Especially outside of "slug for the 4k" situations when there's only two? If you think so, why even struggle, why not just let the killer hook you and thank them every time?

Tell that to my soloQ teammates they try to do gens as quickly as possible and just leave in that situation.
Yeah in that case you can't do anything but try your best to get evader and SOME lightbringer emblem so you safety pip
If the killer has a macro, you can also try getting slugged and hoping the team heals you since that will give you altruism, especially if done multiple times

Why are you trying to defend a system that is inherently flawed? Whether you can or can't pip against an afk killer doesn't change all the other problems depipping has.
I'm not, I don't like depipping at all
But saying that you can't depip against afk killer and complaining about them because of that, is simply not true
You're just not doing what the emblems require, the only one that is player determinant is the altruism
But yeah, depipping should definitely be gone ij this day and age

There is no way to pip agains't AFK killer at best you can hope to safety pip that's it. Pipping system in this game needs to be reworked. Grades are not ranks and got nothing to do with matchmaking either so why it should be so damn hard to get one pip or to avoid depipping which is just luck. Grades just are supposed to show play time.
Lmao
So like, you never tried just hanging around the afk killer and not just genrushing and getting out as fast as possible? That's completely on you if you depip because you can literally pip up if you want to
The only exception is an afk wraith, even with insidious on any other killer you can still find them eventually because you can see them
Standing near killer = easy iri evader
Surviving the trial without being downed = obviously the easiest against an afk killer. Iri or gold, depending on whether or not if the killer has a macro and you need to get the attention of your team
Altruism (only applies if the killer has a macro): more difficult and heavily reliant on your team not being stupid and healing you slugged (in order to get their attention off of gens)
Lightbringer: pretty easy silver or gold, you don't want to genrush but you also want enough to get silver or gold, which is about 1 gen
What does this result in? Well, if the killer has a macro, easy double pip if your teammates aren't stupid. If no macro, then can get a safety pip or if you're lucky a single pip, but you should never be getting a depip from an afk killer lmao, its so easy to avoid that vs getting facecamped to death

You likely know this but just responding to emphasize how stupid it is: you can depip in iridescent as survivor if you escape because the killer was either AFK or a basement Bubba and you just genrushed to get out as fast as possible.
The reason being because you never got chased and you never rescued/healed anyone, the game decides you didn't do enough, so you depip. Even though you survived.
Absolutely ridiculous.
You can easily pip up against an afk killer tho? Especially if they have a macro
If you're depipping on an afk killer that isn't a cloaked wraith all game.. idk what to tell you except.. actually do what the emblems require you to do? The only one you can't is the altruism and that's only if they don't have macro

I gave an explanation as to why. It'd give the killer the ability to see if anything strong is at play. Like I stated: Did I just knock a brown medkit out of a survivor's hand or did I just knock a ranger medkit with the best charge addons out of someone's hands? Better yet, did I just knock an instaheal or styptic out of someone's hands? Well the answer to both is I now have the ability to play around it if they are.
That really wont matter at all with the upcoming update, all the medkits will be the exact same
So a ranger medkit is going to have the same strength as a brown one, and the addons are getting nerfed as well
They also cannot use syptic or the syringe if it's out of charges, and it being on the ground for even one second will deny them the full heal unless they have double charges (and even then it denies the double heal and possibly the full single heal if it's on the ground for 25ish seconds)

You are right in what you say, but the problem is that a "Lost Connection to Host" can be any type of disconnection, including intentional. Meaning, you only need to pull off the lan cable and that would be a "Lost Connection" and not a "Leave Match".
As far as I know it technically does. The problem is it only counts as a sacrifice, meaning you would get your points for a full sacrifice, but not the rest of the points related to the sacrfice itself (chase, damage, etc.). So, if they disconnect when you are grabbing them to make the third hook they would only save you the time to hook them, as you would get your full points and emblem ratings. Again, as far as I know. I may be wrong.
Maybe they could also add some bonus BP and rating to the other emblems to compensate for the disconnect, too.
I think he means related to challenges as well as for adepts

@Seraphor said:
The dailies are there to incentivise branching out from your usual habits. If you only play one role, or one survivor, or one killer, it's to get you to do something else. Giving you separate dailies for each role would completely defeat this point.
You need to play both roles. Not playing both roles is what leads to myopic survivor/killer bias. It reduces toxicity, leads to better attitudes and the ability to accept when you lose. Furthermore, you will become a better survivor if you know how killer works, and vice versa.
Meanwhile, the rewards are low so that people don't feel forced to do something they don't want to do. It's a middle ground, to try and keep everyone happy.
I think the number and rate of daily rituals is just fine. It means you can log in every 2-3 days or so, and do about 2-4 dailies across multiple roles/characters. Much more than that, and you're pressured to log in every day. Who has time for that? let alone every four hours, are you insane @Aven_Fallen ? And if you increase the rewards, that pressure increases with it.
If you want more freedom in the challenges you attempt, that's what tomes are for. You can pick and choose what you attempt, you can do it at any time, they never expire.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3385224#Comment_3385224
This is also my only gripe. The worst one for me has to be Pyramid Head's, as survivors inevitably avoid torment as much as they possibly can. Demo is definitely a point of contention when I make several successful Shreds but a couple of them were apparently one millisecond short of a full charge.
Pig I never have an issue with, you just have to land 4 ambushes, that's not difficult, I managed 6-10+ ambushes per game and if you're not using the killers power, why are you playing them?
The issue is though, the tomes are limited and can't be re completed
Once you've done them all, all that's left are dailies and there's simply not enough to keep people as interested
If tomes could be reset, this would go a long way

What's the issue of slugging at 5 gens? You'd rather be hooked? If that's the case.. why even struggle to not be put on the hook lmao
Most complaints are slugging at endgame or with 2 survivors left which is reasonable but also reasonable for the Killer to do as well

So personally, I think the biggest problem isn't actually the nerfs but the lack of buffs in other things. Ofc the nerfs were imo justified all around, but other perks should've been buffed in significant ways for a true meta shake up! You can't JUST nerf the strong stuff, weaker things should also be brought up and I feel the amount and severity of the nerfs weren't compensated with by overzealous getting an extra 2% (1.8 seconds on a gen) increase to repair speed. Why didn't overzealous also get a minor healing speed bonus? Why are so many F tier unused perks with less than 1% pickrates not touched at all? I feel to truly shake up the meta, these things need to be addressed alongside nerfing the stronger things
Agree, I was hoping for a revert to the pharmacy nerf but nope theyre nerfing it AGAIN just to make sure nobody uses it lmao

The perk-changes were fine?
Well... not for my Main-Killer (once again).
Tell me which build should I use as Freddy which synergyze with my Abilities? Pain Res + DMS is dead, Pop, Call of Brine etc. is not worth.
My builds over the last two years had to change every mid-chapter:
Ruin, Undying, Tinkerer, Pop into Pain Res, DMS, Tinkerer, Ruin into Pain Res, DMS, BBQ, Corrupt into Pain Res, DMS, Surveillance, Jolt into Tinkerer, Call of Brine, Overcharge, Eruption into.... what?
Everything worth using for my killer is nerfed to the dirt or dead. My addons are complete GARBAGE, but hey, I receive 30sec more Blindness when someone walks into a snare... not that it will matter, but I guess I should be happy XD.
And no, before anyone starts to say this: Switching the killer is not a solution. I play various killer, but I feel like there is NOTHING left for Freddy which works together with his only ability, the Dream Projection.
I cant buff snares with addons, I cant use Snares + Fake Pallets, Fake Pallets alone are a downgrade even further, I dont have an One-Shot-Addon, I dont have a good passive power like a Chainhunt or something like that.... I have a lalala in the Dreamworld....
So what should I as a Killer, which is based on Generator-Perks, use? Endgame-Build? Well, I dont have my ability in the endgame anymore, because there is nothing to teleport to.
Well thats more of a killer power issue than anything
But at least they're not nerfing him like Billy lmao
He's kind of like sadako: they're really just played for fun and not a serious playstyle

that combo sucks ass
in order for game afoot to work properly, your chases to get remember me/nwo need to be incredibly short. if theyre too long, itll be impossible to get it to function in endgame with the time you have from nwo and remember me.
No, the idea here is to kill the obsession the second the exit gates are powered (have them slugged and in front of you as the survivors finish the last gen) while having both RM and NWO at 4 stacks, kill the obsession, then just go for whoever is at exit gates or patrol them, chase whomever you find, and if by the time you down them they aren't the obsession, just leave them slugged, rinse and repeat
I usually end up mori'ing at least a total of 3, if not all 4

No. Making all healing speeds longer, is the compensation for all the gen regression slowdown being shorter.
The killer perk nerfs are absolutely huge, as in they nerfed those perks into the ground. This is a fair trade, as BHVR is basically destroying an entire genre of game slowdown.
Yeah but BASE speed regression isn't being nerfed, only the perks
It would be different if only healing perks were being nerfed

That's it. That's the post. We still don't have good counters against camping/tunneling. When is this going to be addressed?
Y'know all it would take to make the camping and tunneling bearable is by removing depipping for players that do not disconnect
-
@ad19970 said:
If the healing nerfs go live, which I very much believe will happen, then the devs will have to nerf camping as well, otherwise it will be buffed indirectly because of healing nerfed, and that's not something they can afford if you ask me.
They surely can't just dedicate a patch to nerfing camping and tunneling however, and then call it a day. Survivor queue times on average are already longer than killer queue times, so that would have just made queue times worse.
The healing nerf however will hopefully give BHVR the opportunity to nerf at least camping more effectively, finally.
If BHVR really wants to go with 24 second heal times, then the hook phase duration needs to be increased from 60 seconds to at least 75 seconds, and hook grabs on healthy survivors need to be removed as well.
And what makes you think they will do any of that lmao

The most common way for Nurse to win is by getting in fast chases and ending them quickly. Gen regression and info perks are her meta build for pubs.

3-gen will be heavily nerfed, all Killer meta gen defense perks were nuked, including Pain Resonance which rewarded you for going for hooks rather than kills. Generators will be much easier to rush than before by default because of this.
CoH and DH are still not bad perks, kinda powerfull still. DH is still usable, same function as before but now you can't just auto use it everytime. CoH is now Empathy for the team and still allows faster team recovery, but it is not crazy anymore with free infinite med-kit for everyone.
Killer perks got overall nuked more imo. This "easy 4K on every killer" is so one sided view and sounds like from a true Survivor main.
Survivors got nerfed, Killers got nerfed too. How about we wait to test these changes before drawing conclusions, hm?

No the perks aren't the issue and it's fine rhat they're being nerfed but the main issue is the healing times and billy nerf
By increasing healing times and the rarities of medkits you are:
-nerfing pharmacy (lmao)
-nerfing self care (self care claudettes incoming)
-nerfing literally every healing perk except instant ones with fixed times/no time
Personally I wish they would have just changed the problematic perks but now weaker perks are going to suffer AND every medkit will be no better than brown medkits (why even have extra rarities then? Just make it simpler and delete them entirely or transfer them all to brown)

I like that you guys are changing things now, don't get me wrong, but with this change in your mindset for mid-chapters, there are going to be some growing pains. Keep in mind that changing this much will have hits and misses, so please don't get discouraged by the push-back against these changes, because some of the reasons for it have merit. I want to go over each change and provide some structured feedback on what potential implications these changes could have. We don't necessarily have these to test yet, but numbers wise we can still see the impact they'll have on the game itself.
Firstly, I'd like to highlight every good change planned in this patch that needs no edits:
- The Blood web changes are perfect, thank you so much for those.
- The Visual terror radius is REALLY nice, im glad you guys finally ported that over from mobile.
- The Gas Heaven and Blood Lodge changes sound REALLY nice, those car walls were always frustrating to go around as both survivor and killer alike, and you understanding the problems they had with stealth killers is really good. We'll have to wait and see for these changes though, since we haven't been given any reference images for how the maps will look.
- Both the Circle of Healing and Medkit speed changes are REALLY nice to hear about. The altruistic healing speed wasn't really important to be nerfed for medkits, but the self-heals and addon changes are going to be great moving forward.
- Gearhead's perk change is going to make it a pretty fun aura perk to use, definitely a step up from before.
- Overzealous buff is nice, but you may want to keep an eye on it. It doesn't make up the time spent booning a dull or hex unless you do multiple full gens worth of progress, but it still is something that you should be wary of.
- The lightburn changes (excluding Nurse, and MAYBE Artist) are nice to see for Hag and Wraith. The Hag changes make having to get rid of traps not chest or starting-item dependent is great, and Wraith is currently weak enough that Lightburn just kicks him while he's down.
- While the addon changes are minor (excluding Hillbilly, who i'll talk about later), they aren't really that impactful. Glad to see Pig getting something though.
Now, I'd like to go over the changes that have POTENTIAL, but also either need a few tweaks, or need to go in a different direction.
- First up: Pain Resonance. I would either increase the regression if you guys are adamant on it only being usable 4 times, or have some other way to discourage tunneling with it, such as: "Hooking the same survivor twice does not trigger this perk's effects", or "You start with 8 tokens, but hooking the same survivor twice takes away more than one token" That way you get more regression if you play friendly/nice and also when you're going to need it, while you get penalized for tunneling by having the perk do less for the killer.
- Dead Hard: I feel this perk is going in a possible direction that would be good to see. It having an activation condition means that you don't have to worry about the perk in the first chase, and you KNOW when a survivor COULD have Dead Hard, while previously it was a coin toss. I would like you guys to consider pushing it further in the direction of his other perk "We're Gonna Live Forever", and changing it so it activates not only on safe unhooks, but also protection hits and flashlight/pallet saves. This would push it even more into the direction of a supportive perk to reward you for protecting and looking out for your team, rather than just the free chase extender it currently is. Theoretically you could take it even further and have the stack you gain be consumed on use even if you miss it, but it doesn't cost exhaustion. Though this would push it more as a full rework of the perk rather than a tweak.
- Call of Brine: I like that you're considering nerfing the regression speed that it gives to gens, but I would say that you over-nerfed it a little bit. 125% is pretty small in the grand scheme of things, and I would've probably kept it at possibly 135-150%, since the regression speed needs to be reapplied if touched by a survivor. After all, base generator regression speed is equivalent to 1/4th of a single survivor's repair speed.
- Finally, Overcharge: I like that Overcharge now has a larger regression bonus than Call of Brine, but I feel it shouldn't have gone so low since it has a large build up time. 150% Would be good, but I personally feel since it takes time, something higher like 175% would be reasonable. The regression penalty from the skillcheck being nerfed is completely reasonable, and I wouldn't change that.
Finally, the concerning things:
- 24 seconds base-kit for healing WOULD be fine if that was only for SELF healing. It's a problem when it applies to altruistic healing as well. Altruistic healing should ALWAYS be faster than self-healing, to encourage survivors to group up, and waste combined survivor time. If Survivor Self-healing was the only one to have it's base healing time to 24s, that would mean perks that apply mangled, and mangled itself would be a bigger hindrance on self-healing, which would encourage survivors to group up even more. Please consider making 24s heals base-kit ONLY on self-healing, as that would make this healing rework perfect. I would also make sure to adjust Self-care along with this change, as it will be massively hurt by these changes if not also adjusted.
- Nurse Lightburn: This was unclear in the blogpost, but this change either way is a buff to nurse, and a removal of her only counter-play. If the blogpost meant that you just cant lightburn Nurse WHILE she's blinking (While she cant do anything but travel), this wouldn't be that big of a change, but it would still remove an aspect of counter-play with flashbangs from her. If this change meant that you couldn't lightburn her AT ALL, this is a change that should be scrapped since flashlights are currently one of the only ways to actively hinder her power. She's the strongest killer in the game, and shouldn't have counterplay like that removed. Just keeping lightburn as a mechanic for her in specific would be good.
- Hillbilly Changes: Overheat as a mechanic doesn't really do much as a hindrance for Hillbilly yes, but I figure that should be why it gets removed instead of changed. In addition, you are nerfing the addons for Hillbilly that enable an ALTERNATIVE playstyle, which is very popular among Hillbilly players, instead of BUFFING his other addons to enable more build variety. Engravings open up a world of possibilities for Hillbilly players, and should not be nerfed as a result of statistics alone.
Edit: I forgot to put this in before posting this, but I REALLY think that large sweeping changes like these should be handled with care. The fact that you ARE changing things though is very refreshing, and im glad pushing for an era of changing metas with Dead by Daylight is going to pay off. If you keep this up, and listen to the community at the same time, this game will start going in a really good direction, and future changes likely won't be as controversial once you see where Higher-level players and the Community as a whole is coming from. I have high hopes for you guys, and there will be bumps in the road ahead, but keep it together and keep listening!
Very constructive feedback, very professional manner
