Why are daily challenges still so bad?

Came back to the game after taking a year break and have seen a lot of really solid quality of life changes, but why are the daily challenges still so bad? Why is it still one a day? Why are there not at the very least different dailies for survivor and killer?

  • My main issue is how low their reward is, like they barely even feel worth doing. Their blood point amount needs to be literally like tripled. 90k is worth my time, but 30k is a waste of it.

  • 30k isn’t enough anymore tbh. You could even throw in 200 shards since they only reset daily

  • My issue is the difficulty disparity. Michael just has to tier up a few times, which is literally staring at people. Artist has to get downs with her birds. Legion has to hit four people in Feral Frenzy. Demo has to get fully charged shreds.

The difficulty is all over the place disparately for roughly the same reward.

  • IMO three things should happen:

    • Increase of Reward, at least doubled, maybe even trippled. Now Daily Rituals are doubled and they feel better to do.
    • There should be 3 Rituals for each Role with the option to change one of them every 4 hours instead of once per day. Plus you get 3 new ones every day (so even if you did not do any of the Challenges before, all will be re-rolled)
    • Tweaks to some challenges since some are really easy to do (1 game and done) while others require multiple games (e.g. changing Demos Daily to just Shred Attacks instead of fully charged Shreds, Pig not needing to do 4 Dashes, 2 would be more appropiate)
  • They could do with a tweak. I hate when I get the one for chainsaw downs with billy or lethal rush downs as blight. I'm awful with them. And the surv open an exit gate one is such a pain, it's rare enough for me to see all 5 gens finished and still be alive in a surv game let alone get to a gate and open it. Could definitely give us more bp as well and maybe extra rerolls.

  • Everyday I click on the trash can and everyday i get a new killer daily. I guess i keep clicking.

  • The dailies are there to incentivise branching out from your usual habits. If you only play one role, or one survivor, or one killer, it's to get you to do something else. Giving you separate dailies for each role would completely defeat this point.

You need to play both roles. Not playing both roles is what leads to myopic survivor/killer bias. It reduces toxicity, leads to better attitudes and the ability to accept when you lose. Furthermore, you will become a better survivor if you know how killer works, and vice versa.

Meanwhile, the rewards are low so that people don't feel forced to do something they don't want to do. It's a middle ground, to try and keep everyone happy.

I think the number and rate of daily rituals is just fine. It means you can log in every 2-3 days or so, and do about 2-4 dailies across multiple roles/characters. Much more than that, and you're pressured to log in every day. Who has time for that? let alone every four hours, are you insane @Aven_Fallen ? And if you increase the rewards, that pressure increases with it.

If you want more freedom in the challenges you attempt, that's what tomes are for. You can pick and choose what you attempt, you can do it at any time, they never expire.

This is also my only gripe. The worst one for me has to be Pyramid Head's, as survivors inevitably avoid torment as much as they possibly can. Demo is definitely a point of contention when I make several successful Shreds but a couple of them were apparently one millisecond short of a full charge.

Pig I never have an issue with, you just have to land 4 ambushes, that's not difficult, I managed 6-10+ ambushes per game and if you're not using the killers power, why are you playing them?

I agree that it’s good to incentivize people to play both sides but they’ve already added that feature now with giving double to 1.5x bloodpoints for roles that are lower in population.

I don’t really see your problem with giving multiple dailies for both sides, since that would incentivize people to play both roles like you’re advocating for. Also having the ability for them to refresh more frequently like @avenfallen suggested is a great idea in my opinion. There’s no fear of missing out since they’re completely optional in the first place and don’t give you extrinsic rewards other than extra bloodpoints (not like it gives battle pass credit or anything).

The issue is though, the tomes are limited and can't be re completed

Once you've done them all, all that's left are dailies and there's simply not enough to keep people as interested

If tomes could be reset, this would go a long way
