  • I'd just like it if the survivors read their own lore in the archives

  • I was looking at the shop, and the survivor perk hoodie needs to include Jane!! She's my main and I will only get one if you make hers available >:(

I think this may be my 2nd best after the ######### UI pack that is really popular at the moment.

this is the portrait pack that they're using.. I use them too!! enjoy.

  • You guys are lucky to hear it at all. Mine doesn't work. Never has. I press play and nothing happens even after a long while of waiting. I don't even know how this could b fixed.

I would like to hear his voice just to have an opinion on the speed.

  • The only nerf that happened to spirit that is "wrong" is the change to the Yakuyoke Amulet.

you are allowed to recolor your perk colors though right thats how some people said you could get the old red perk color.

The icons are a minor change since it's just how the game looks for you. The file names are the exact same between the perk color files so the anticheat doesn't detect it.

  • If he closes the hatch then you're screwed. It's one of his few strengths and there would be no way to change it without ruining him.

  • I think Hag has a low pickrate because of how it feels to play her.

She is slow and short, which kinda makes me feel weak even though I know she's strong. You can't really chase with her since she relies on her traps for map traversal. Her stun animation is annoying AF because you can't see what direction the survivor runs when they stun you, where you can with other killers.

Her ability forces her to look at the ground for a while, and her traps don't reset so if one triggers on the opposite side of the map, you're screwed until you walk all the way back over there. The traps also have a counter, and people running Urban Evasion are her worst enemy.

There's a new feature where you can pin certain categories to your homepage by "Following" them, so you don't have to go through all the folders to get to the place you're interested in.

More info on how to do this here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/106536/following-categories-a-quick-guide#latest

    Thank you!

  • As survivor I just play normally.

As killer, I usually check their stream on my phone to see what kind of person they are before the match starts. if they're nice, I play normally, might even let them out. If they seem arrogant or rude, I mori them.

Dude your rank 9 you woulda pipped regardless. Dodging people is kinda sad because of rank. Most people are boosted animals anyways. I generally get these kinda games on PS4. Iirc this was 3 p3 claudette's and a detective tapp on the clowns map.

That game is the opposite of what i'm talking about in this post. That was a majority red rank game and they got matched with you, a purple rank. That's a perfectly reasonable game, since the majority of the group had high ranks.

What i'm talking about is having the majority of the players in the swf be lower ranks and still getting matched with a high rank killer.

  • 1) used dead hard and it ended too short and I stepped into a beartrap right as it stopped. trap was right in front of the exit gates, that were open. killer was chasing me.

    2) jumped off a house in Haddonfield without BL, stagger was so bad that the killer caught up to me and smacked me

    3) step into beartraps that had previously caught me that I KNEW existed

  • @AGuyNamedKane said:

I honestly prefer it this way. Better for new killers. If you're not as good as the survivors you're playing with, maybe have them teach you how to play the game so you can actually do better against better killers?

A good way to do this would be to have a custom game and have the group teach the newer person on voice comms and do looping and chases and that kind of thing.

As the ranking is right now, there's no way to properly teach a newbie if they swf with a high rank player. they will get destroyed.

I don't think forcing the entire group to be matched with the same rank as the highest member of the group is the best solution, after all, 4 rank 10's are still a pain to deal with if they're attempting to try hard and be optimal and that rank 10 killer will still be severely disadvantaged, but it's better than what was happening before where red ranks were legitimately and intentionally bullying newbie killers, particularly for their stupid 360 montage videos.

Exactly. Although, those games are kind of the opposite of what i've been seeing (3 grey ranks and a red rank player together). It ruins the lower ranked players experience, having to go up against way more skilled people than them.

  • I mean I don't really use BBQ anymore on killer, and I only use Ruin on certain killers, otherwise I have PGTW.

Yeah the perks are annoying, but BBQ has a counter (get into a locker when the downed person is picked up) and ruin just needs to be cleansed. take 1-2 minutes at the beginning of the match to find it, or power through it and hit those greats. easy counters really.

either that, or be patient with ruin.

  • I'm tired of seeing people misspelling it..

it's Beast of PREY not PRAY

prey = food (animals hunt their prey)

pray = talking to a god (we pray at dinner)

  • I completed mine with Spirit at the last possible second in the match.

There was 1 guy left and I closed the hatch. he was opening a gate and got it to 99% (3 lights on) before I phased up and grabbed him off the gate. He was healthy and decided not to let go for me to hit him. It was pretty lucky.

But like others have said, use distressing or PB and try to fake chases near gens and grab people off of them.

Noed is the only hex perk that is not lit straight from the beginning of the game. This change would only buff noed and it does not need a buff atm.

it would also apply to any future hex perks that the devs decide to make.

Honestly you'll more than likely be fine regardless, but might as well use it as an "excuse" to tidy up your passwords a bit. This is the case for most leaks, but if you do use the same password "everywhere" you really should get around to changing that.

Least you should do is make sure you have a seperate password for anything with actual payment info tied to it (like Steam, Paypal and so on) or with real personal information on it, preferably a seperate Email address and username (if applicable) for such services as well if at all possible.

my steam password is (was) the same as my forums password, but my username is not. I don't know the probability of someone logging into my steam account if theyre not on my pc.. also my banking password is vastly different than any password i've ever had. I should change my email password too then. thank you

Why should the totem deactivate? No other hex perk does without being cleansed.

it's just a proposal for how hexes should work. If they can possibly have a scenario where they no longer have any effect but were not yet cleansed, they should deactivate and the totem should become dull. NOED was just an example (I was using it for a challenge)

  • I watched the video and I would've tossed my computer out the window if that happened to me. Hours and hours spent and lost all in one error that took 10 seconds to happen. I hope you get your legacy back.

  • 2 survivors P2-50

    1 killer P3-50

    1 killer P1-50

I only prestige characters that I love to use and want their bloody outfits.

  • I got mine first try against a demogorgon. I guess it was easy because i used my DH to get to a pallet as he was going to shred me, and I ran back and threw it down. He hit me through it but that doesn't matter to me.

I got the second one by sandbagging a teammate.. oopsie. they didn't die though.

I gave up on kindred. I've had games where I'm on a hook and 2 will stay on their gens while the 3rd is clearly getting chased across the map. Kindred wont help potatoes...

It seems to help me because when I was using it, I was rescued before 2nd phase every time and lived much longer than I would have.

Most of this didn't happen. If it did you would have at least safety pipped.

I don't know why people feel the need to blatantly lie to try and exaggerate a problem and think it proves their point.

how do you know I was lying? It's rude to assume that.

It really did happen and I wish I had saved a screenshot of my emblems to prove to you so you would stop assuming that everyone is lying to you.

  • @underlord99 said:

I understand where you're coming from but in your situation the team you were against was able to get most of the gens done meaning they did kinda earn the hatch escape.

You only got one sacrifice? I would suggest maybe not focusing on one person too much. I've played dozens upon dozens of games where I chase a survivor the whole match only for his team to escape .

You could also put on more perks to slow the game down a little , I would suggest using Ruin and/or corrupt intervention if you have it . maybe even Pop.

anyways , don't take that match too personal . just look back at it and think about what you could have done better.

I tried super hard not to tunnel but this one claudette was a potato..

I was running both Ruin and Corrupt Intervention, as well as Sloppy Butcher and Discordance.

The map was huge and I had my traps semi spread out so if someone stepped on them I couldn't make it to them before they escaped (I admit this was a bad choice for me)

I would've done good if they didn't just jump into the hatch all at once while I was forced to watch. As I mentioned, 2 were on death hook.

  • I don't think so, since STBFL doesn't apply to Shred.

  • @MegMain98 said:

I’ve had rounds where the killer chased one guy all round and got looped. All I do is the gens and I’m not found. There is nobody to unhook so no altruism points and the killer has tunnel vision. I de-pip these rounds.

Or either I’m the guy looping the killer so I only get boldness points.

I do agree if you escape you should AT LEAST get a black pip.

These rounds are few and far between though. Most of the time it’s the Claudette that hides all round, lets her teammates die, and gets the hatch. She deserves to de-pip.

the first example was how the match in question went for me. except for a couple unhooks/heals and the unhooked got tunneled.

  • Let me outline the match for those who think I did nothing.

    I got 3 gens done, 1 by myself and 2 co-op.

I unhooked 3 people, and healed 2 of them

the killer didn't want to chase me after the unhook, which was unfortunate for the unhooked person. 3 out of 4 of us escaped at the end.

I did actually pallet stun the killer but again, they didn't want me for some reason

The ability seems to much like ghost faces just with out being able to stop his ability

wouldn't it be the opposite with the same status effect? since ghostface looks at you but you'd have to look at the terrifier.

those are some trippy item/perk icons O_o also rip that rank 17 trapper

Oh yeah I have the 80s pack

  • i'd love a fancy dress for Meg, like Claudette has.

I really want a mrs. clause Jane outfit

i'd die for a tuxedo trapper

anything 80s themed for all survivors and killers would be so fun. like the crazy neon workout outfits from the 80s.

  • If you want help learning the game better, join the discord or other social media groups, there are lots of people who will be willing to play swf with you and help you out. I would but i'm high rank survivor and it would suck for you to experience that.

I understand your frustrations with the game, especially with the ranking/matchmaking and the wait times. Queue times are dependent on your region, so if there are few people playing survivor on your server then you will have a longer wait time as killer, and vice versa. Most people want to play killer as it gives more bloodpoints and is more of a "power role".

The matchmaking is wacked right out.. No doubt about that. This isn't so much a balance issue as a matchmaking issue. Just today I played a game as survivor.. and well, look.

    2019-11-09 23_29_56-DeadByDaylight.png

The killer was obviously an old player who had taken a big break, but if he were a newbie this matchmaking would've been atrocious (though it already is). I play solo and even if I was swf, this should NOT be happening.

The reason low rank players get matched with higher rank is because the game will give priority matchmaking to lower ranks, because it wants new players to get a match in as little time as possible, even if that means a larger gap between ranks in players. I think this system is stupid because it gives players a higher chance of being matched with people way more skilled than them and can give them a bad experience.

There is a (alleged) 6-rank cap on the difference in ranking when matchmaking. ie. a rank 17 could in theory be matched with a rank 11 player, and this would still be fine in the eyes of the matchmaking system. I think this gap is too large and can lead to huge inconsistencies in skill level.

Also, it is far too easy to rank up in the current system. I have 554 hours now but when I was newer I felt I was ranking up too fast and would get to a higher rank, and then lose every match because I was too bad to be where I was.

People saying "git gud" is not helpful and I wish people would stop saying that. Youtube tutorials and tips don't help because those people only post matches where they do well. Not every tactic will work with every killer and every map. My advice is to play immersed. Hide, stay out of the killer's way, and only be reckless when you have the means to do so (perks that will help you, ie. decisive strike, dead hard, unbreakable, balanced landing, etc)

The game is mostly balanced for middle ranks (12-6), lower than that and it becomes too hard for killers to win or survivors to escape, and higher than that brings out survivors who are bullies and killers who are very mean. I find that killers only camp at low ranks because they want to secure the few kills they can actually get.

TL;DR: I agree with the OP but there are a lot of things that only get better as you learn the game more. Balance is an issue that the devs are slow to look at (in my experience) and the only thing that can be done right now is to adapt to it.

  • Currently tier 26, I got all the challenges for tome 1 done a while ago.

  • I think, at the very least, the first box you search should be the wrong one no matter what. That way, her power works at least a little bit instead of the survivor walking to the nearest box (that could be right next to them) and having the trap off less than 30 seconds after it was put on.

Also, Rule Set No. 2 should be basekit.

  • seems too complicated or people would hate it tbh.. i wouldn't like it at all. not that it's a bad idea, just it would be horrible to experience

  • I don't think so.. the challenges aren't that hard to complete. sure they will get harder but if you get burnt out, take a break and go back and try again later.

I already finished tome 1 and i'm not burnt out.

big oof that the strongest existing Xbox console can't even run DBD well.. I have one too but refuse to repurchase DBD cause I have it on PC.

The optimization definitely needs to happen.

  • bring a swf group.

  • my response to the title:

    No.

  • You forget that the spirit has to guess where the survivors are because she can't see them in phase. there's ways to counter this. ie. leave the loop when shes phasing or be unpredictable. don't wait at pallets - she will get a hit if you stand there and wait to throw it or wait to see if she is mindgaming.

switching the roles around means nothing because it doesn't work that way. i know it is to make people think but it is a bad analogy.

I don't really change up my killer builds too much, just 1-2 perks depending on the killer.

    Jane

    • Decisive Strike
    • Iron Will
    • Dead Hard
    • Prove Thyself (I change this one out a lot depending on what i'm doing)

That one took me like 6 tries because I was having a really bad killer day. The next day was better and I got it on my 2nd try, but only because someone DC'd and it still counted it.

(I was playing trapper on swamp and an Ash stepped into a trap, was being saved, and DCd right as he was freed from the trap. I have no idea why he left)
