I haven't seen much of the other changes, and almost none of them affect me very much at all.
but my biggest problem is with the new UI. it's ugly, scattered and disorganized. I want the old one back, maybe with a few tweaks. but it can't stay like this, it's too much to keep track of and it's too spread out.
the perk changes won't affect me because i rarely use any of them.
i actually wanted The Game to have the graphical update.
trapper buff will be nice but not life-changing.
-
I just wake up and the first thing I see on Reddit is people talking about the new DBD HUD. I hadn't seen the changes, and found a screenshot from someone.
and boy, does it look so bad.
why does it look like i'm in a discord call with the survivors? what is that little hook counter with no info other than some bars around the circle? why is the generator counter floating by itself at the top?
and lastly: who thought this was a good idea?
I really don't want to be super negative, but there is almost nothing good (imo) about the new design. It didn't need to be changed, nobody has ever complained about how it looked before, and yet this is what the devs do... the only complaints about it that i've ever seen were people wanting an added totem counter, or the ticks for how many times each survivor has been hooked. we didn't want this.
I know some people like it, but even more people dislike/hate it. we didn't want this.

I love her. She's my main, haha.
I find her flaws lie within the trap RNG. Most of the time people will take the traps off their heads on the first box they find, and it sucks. Sure it's meant to slow down game play but dammit I want the trap to stay on for more than 30 seconds. Nowadays I don't put traps on people until there's only 1-3 generators remaining.
I also think Rule Set No. 2 should be basekit. I never get it in my bloodwebs so I can't use it, but when I have used it it made the game a lot more fun. People couldn't really pull their traps off before they activated and it made the games go a lot better for me. Of course they still have a chance to get it off first try but it prolonged the time the trap was actually on them.
People say her ambush is useless or weak, but I don't really think so. Its range is pretty good, but it feels short because people normally use it to go around a corner or something. But if you run straight ahead it goes pretty far. Could maybe use 1 extra meter on it but otherwise I find it useful. I love to run STBFL on Pig and the dash is amazing for that perk. I use it during chases too, haha. It confuses the survivors and they make more mistakes.
Also I like the cosmetic options for her blade, since they make sounds.

I've been playing since just before the Stranger Things DLC came out and I absolutely love the menu music from that one. The 80's synth is so amazing to me.

If it's a deadzone, that means there's nothing there. Nothing includes pallets. If there are pallets, it's not a deadzone. Learn your terms.
you know that they mean there's already no pallets. using the word "more" in that sentence doesnt change its meaning if you actually understand what they are saying.
-
- give me back the button to switch directly between survivor and killer!! (should only work when in a lobby by yourself)
that's my only point lmao

that's the idea
That's what makes it not good. :P If I wanted a good version of that ability, I'd just play Spirit.
So by that logic, demogorgon's shred is situational? It's super easy to avoid unless you're in a corridor or along a wall, so that means it's bad right?
I'm sorry so say this... but you just need to get good. or play spirit if that's what you want.

I am also a Pig main, and I don't think her dash is good. I think it is very situational and relies, more than anything, on your opponent messing up.
that's the idea. You crouch at a loop with a dropped pallet or even an unused one. Start the roar, go in one direction and then turn back around to ambush them. It's not perfect, no killer's ability will get you a down 100% of the time.
I personally think that the rework/buff that people are asking for is too much. there is a difference between a strong killer and an OP killer. Pig is pretty good as she is, but I think her biggest problem is with trap rng and some map pressure. She does have the constant pressure of being a stealth killer, but she can struggle in early game.
You have to know her strengths to do really good with her, so some of it is human error.

Her dash is not good. It is highly situational at best.
I'm a pig main and her dash is pretty good. You do need to have some skill with her to use it properly, but it is good.
I like it because i use STBFL on her and it doesn't count as an M1 on the obsession. Also to scare people.

I was a Spirit main for a long while, so here are my tips.
- have a good pair of headphones, preferably surround sound. as someone mentioned above, stridor helps if you dont have any.
- always be listening, even if you're not phasing, She's pretty quiet compared to some killers when it comes to her footsteps, so stuff is easy to hear. I hear breathing all the time and its often a survivor crouching nearby trying to hide.
- standing still will confuse survivors into thinking you're phasing. So if you want to try that, stand still at a pallet or window and watch if they are going to come back and vault towards you. It does take patience sometimes and standing for a while might be what you need to do.
- trying to mindgame the phase will not work if the survivors are smart, but you can start phasing and stand still, and hopefully they will come towards you. If they dont they will just run away and you can go after them.
- PREDICT where people are going to run. If they go into a house, try and think of where they might come out. I usually like to go around the building in the opposite direction as them so they run face-first into me.
- Break safe pallets, they are awful since you cant do anything about them while phasing. You can leave unsafe ones since getting the hit at most is easy.
My suggested add-ons:
- Bloody Hair Brooch + Katsumori Talisman (very fast activation charge and long duration, will help you to catch up to survivors easy
- Dirty Uwabaki + Katsumori Talisman (speeeeeed for longer)
- White Hair Ribbon + Kaiun Talisman (My normal add-on choice, improves activation charge and duration)
- Rusty Flute + Wakizashi Saya (zoom out of phase and phase more often)
- Mother-Daughter Ring + Bloody Hair Brooch (ultimate speed with fast activation. scratch marks are removed by the ring so listening for survivors is key with this one)
- Father's Glasses + Katsumori Talisman (the blood goes neon red/orange and the added duration helps with tracking
My suggested perks:
- BBQ & Chili for tracking after a hook
- Pop Goes The Weasel for gen slowdown
- Ruin for pressure
- Make Your Choice for easy downs
- Devour Hope (when it works) is just fun
- Sloppy Butcher if you're using Father's Glasses
- Discordance for tracking
- Haunted Grounds (when paired with Ruin is great)
I know this is long but I hope it helps! Feel free to message me if you want more info as well :)

People saying "all you need are good headphones/stridor" are wrong. that could be true for low rank killers who just bought the game and don't know how to play killer very well. Spirit isn't too different than a trapper for regular chases, but she does have the added ability of phase walking. Sure, stridor and good headphones help, but they aren't all you need.

* oops i posted this in the wrong topic
-
all i know is that it appears at the beginning of a match and then disappears. turns red when my frames drop.

Coldwind/Macmillan/Autohaven have the most variations of each map, so you have a higher chance to get one.
Coldwind:
- thompson house
- rotton fields
- fractured cowshed
- torment creek
- rancid abattoir
Macmillan:
- ironworks
- shelter woods
- coal tower
- suffocation pit
- groaning storehouse
Autohaven:
- gas heaven
- azarov's resting place
- wretched shop
- blood lodge
- wrecker's yard
There's also all 5 variations of the preschool maps. There's about 34 maps right now and 15 of them are the ones listed above. You've got about a 15% chance (14.7%) to get a coldwind farm map. So yeah, they appear more often.

Killers have no way to surrender at all, and I think that is 100x worse than Survivors suiciding on hook.
How about giving Killers a way to surrender at all.
Killers can go afk until the survivors finish the gens and escape. Just go AFK until they do all gens, open the gates yourself, and they are then forced out. Sure, it takes longer, but it is a way to surrender.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
If someone has just given up there isn't much you can do, if you punished hook suicides then the people who die because their fingers slip on struggle once in a while would get punished needlessly; but the people who do it cause they just gave up would just hop off hook and either run to the killer and get hooked again, or worse, start sand bagging teammates out of frustration.
Punishing hook suicide would end up making the game MORE toxic and not less so.
I have to agree with you there. It's just so frustrating.
-
It's not about rank. It's about points and emblems.
With any other AFK killer you can just run in front of them and get boldness that way. They should change Wraith to start the match uncloaked and have the bell be completely silent/no map-wide whoosh sound for the first time he cloaks.
-
Get yourself a swf buddy and as soon as 4/5 gens or 5/5 gens are done, look for the hatch. Having the second person to tell you where it is is really helpful. That's how I got mine very quickly, 2 games in a row.
-
When being woken up by a survivor against Freddy, you make sounds of pain while crouched even if you're not injured or when you're using Iron Will. Not sure if anyone else can hear it though.
-
I really think that the RBT should automatically activate when placed on a survivor after all gens are completed. It kind of makes them useless after all gens are done.
And yeah, I know they're not "supposed" to kill people, but a survivor isn't doomed to death if they are trapped after the gates are powered. They can still get it off. And with the RNG of the boxes, most of the time you get it off on the first box anyway. I don't see the reason they don't automatically activate after the gates are powered.
I also think that escaping via the hatch with an active trap on should kill you anyway. The survivor failed to do their job (remove the trap) so they shouldn't get rewarded by the hatch escape.

what's the difference between AFK wraith and any other killer who goes AFK?
The difference is you literally can't find him the whole game and he doesn't put out a TR. Other killers do so you could farm boldness points by running in front of the killer a bit. AFK wraith is just annoying because you're basically alone in the match.

Also this, IRON WORKS HAS AN INFINITE SO YOU SHOULDNT BE GOING DOWN INSTANTLY. Also it's not small you and your teammates just thought you could diddle diddle along like you all normally do and quickly finish every gen without any actual strategy

No, it is as easy done as it is said. Three survivors work on three separate gens, while another one gets chased. If he leaves that survivor without getting the down that survivor can work on the other gen that's left as he goes to another gen. Gens take 80 seconds, the only way he could win in that situation is if you survivors go down as soon as he comes to your gen and he slugged which you SHOULD NOT go down immediately if you aren't stupid or bad at the game

Then all of you should split up and work on separate gens, there's no way he could stop all of you, if there is three of you that also works. Two of you left? It is pretty much impossible to win by then but how did you get down to two survivors left if he camps just a few gens in one area?

If he was downing, then the match will end naturally. If he was letting survivors wiggle off his shoulder, then they can work on gens. Snap Out progression is now stored, so you can always just pocket it until the next static blast, and then he has to wait a minute before another one, letting you finish ~80% of a gen solo.

@Huntar said:
No. It's a viable build, and the match can still end normally. If the killer isn't hooking people, just stay on a gen and force him to knock you down and bleed out. The survivors have full control over how long this situation goes, and they should've tried to not 3 gen themselves.

I absolutely hate The Game as both killer and survivor. I hate it so much.
I also really don't like Rotten Fields. There is not enough structures so if you get caught in the middle of the field, you're screwed. As killer, it's very easy to lose a survivor in the corn, at least I find.
Mother's Dwelling is pretty bad too.

The traps aren't meant to kill survivors. And you should have used up all of her traps before the last gen pops anyway. They're there as a slowdown mechanic, not a kill mechanic. Although I think you should die if you try to escape via hatch, it is pretty dumb that you don't
I had used all the traps, he had my last one on. The last point on my post is just a general idea.

From what we've seen, it's caused by low settings. Increasing it to medium for the time being should help (might only take effect next time you load into that map).
What about if you literally can't run DBD on medium? The lag I get on medium is game breaking for me.

I run corrupt instead of ruin and do fine on killer, it almost makes no difference. Some games go faster, sometimes you have to slug, but in reality, the games are nearly the same. Also as a red rank survivor I see noed maybe in 25% of games, so I would say it's far from meta. I feel you just need to get better as killer, and as memey as it is, pressure better, juggle better, or if you're losing slug more.
Is killer in a good place right now, no. Is it far from it, but it is also not unplayable. If you are still relying on noed to carry your games, you're just going to keep losing.
Well I did mention that I won that round, but I see your point. I use it as a failsafe more than a crutch.

My build is BBQ, PGTW, STBFL, and either NOED or old Ruin. I can change NOED out for Thrilling Tremors as well.

I play both equally (red rank on both) and I can't really decide.
I think if I had to I would say that my killer would win because I'm really good at denying pallets or mindgaming people at window loops.

What's the difference? to make the killer waste a few seconds, hit me twice, pick me up and put me on a hook? Also, that was an example, maybe I have to leave and turn off my PC or something. You know there's life outside this video game, right? The problem is when you're an ######### that DCs because you missed your DS or because the killer downed you first, that's the problem, when you DC because something happened INGAME.
What if I'm bugged and I can't move and I hold the game hostage because the killer can't even hit me?
What if the killer is bugged and can't move? Should I wait 15 minutes until he finally decides to DC?
What if a survivor or the killer is hacking or taking the game hostage somehow? Dedicated servers have NOT enterely remove hackers.
What if the killer wants to farm? I HATE FARMING, I DC immediately when the killer starts hitting a gen, I don't need BPs, I play this game to have fun and farming is boring, I'm not wasting 10 minutes of my life farming.
As you can see, there are a lot of good excuses to DC and going AFK is not always the solution. And even so, going AFK doesn not solve anything either.
If you're bugged, just DC and suffer with the penalty. Some things can't be avoided - just submit a ticket and the devs will do something.
If the killer is bugged... just escape?
If someone is hacking, record the evidence and submit a ticket. You can spend your time doing that instead of leaving and letting it happen. They WILL get banned if you report it.
If the killer wants to farm, just go AFK and get some chores done until the game ends. There's life outside the game, right?
In other words.. DCing is not the only solution and the penalties are a good thing.
-
Idea 1: you said yourself that undetectable/oblivious removes the perk's effect.
Idea 2: just no. that would be impossible to get it to work and even if it did, it would make killers DC or leave you on the ground forever just so they don't get stunned.
From someone who uses DS as part of my everyday build, these ideas just aren't going to work. I personally think DS is fine as-is.

Pig's ambush functions differently. She telegraphs the attack with the loud growl during the charge up of the attack. To begin this charge up attack she has to enter her sneak mode which slows her down significantly and whilst charging the attack she is stuck in place. Once she begins the attack she doesn't have as much control of her movement and survivors can still easily dodge the attack. This attack takes more skill to hit than Legion's frenzy which increases his speed to where survivors can barely outplay him and he still has normal control of his movement as well as the increased lunge distance thanks to the increased speed. Also legion recovers quicker after hitting a survivor in frenzy so he can be on top of them again in no time downing them insanely quick. Whilst I also want some changes for legion to make him more viable this would make legion incredibly overpowered/unfun and kind of boring.
I didn't think of it like that
-
@Sonicslinger said:
This sounds like a nerf. You take away deep wounds, arguably a terrible effect, and nerf them even more. I am assuming that you still can't down a survivor with the power and if you hit someone again with the power it doesn't down them but kicks you out of your power otherwise that would be similar if not worse than how he was released. The stun on legion is already too long increasing it would make it insufferable. Whilst I'm not the biggest fan of deep wounds as its boring for survivors and doesn't feel like it has an impact as killer it's better than nothing
I think it'd be reasonable to say that the power could down a survivor, similar to Pig's ambush.

It didn't count as an escape; I have the "escape 4 trials" challenge active and it didn't add to that.
So really it was just a waste of 60 seconds of waiting in lobby and loading.

You just need to be careful when you change the files. The png files don't trigger the anti-cheat.
Always make sure you're changing the right things and make yourself well-informed before you do it. You'll be fine.
