Define "Extreme Words" Everyone views different words as "Extreme". Not to mention this is on the internet, I just choose to ignore them mainly cause I really don't care and have been on the internet for 11+ Years. My best suggestion is just to ignore them. A ban like this wouldn't stop them, It's just like the DC timer ban. What drives people to DC won't stop from this system being in place. Same thing with what you're suggesting.

    Racist or homophobic slurs?

We all make mistakes. Its part of life.

So come on you swallow your pride and bring Ruin back (maybe with a little buff as a way of saying sorry).

Its not worth trashing your game over.

All these people saying the same thing on here cant be wrong.

I know you probably have some other long term solution in mind but lets face it sometimes you can be a bit slow. You can always try changing it again once you actually have something in place?

I know it was masking a lot of other problems but frankly I preferred them masked than exposed like this.

for once they could have taken feedback from PTB instead of being completely deaf to the community. I'm actually glad to see this game go down, not just over ruin, but because of all the stacking issues they keep making. They deserve it at this point.

Its still a bs perk that rewards failure and everyone runs it. More than 80% of the survivor community uses it. Why hasn't that been given the ruin treatment?

tough call, i think it has something to do with 4x survivors have the ability to generate 4x the profit, whereas 1x killer can only buy 1x cosmetics ;)

I would also say it's BS and needs tweaking, I don't even run it for its intended purpose, I use it specifically to hook trade with BT.

Well if you slug they can run unbreakable or they can heal themselves to "get help" and someone else can revive them. Thus wasting your time which killer doesnt have.

Gotta take that risk, If you have the ability to take the 6 second stun, then do it. Just know that's 6 seconds that will either go to a gen or them to get distance on you. They can only unbreakable 1 time a game, and if a friend comes to aid them, then they are off a gen doing that.

I only see newbs miss ds and those players tend to lose even with that perk. Its the veterans that never miss thats the problem. I can hook someone, go after another person, hook them, then the first survivor makes a save, I go after them and DS is still active. I clearly went after someone else after I hooked them so I wasnt tunneling yet I still have to play around it. The only time I like DS lockers is when im trapper but thats more of shits and giggles. They can step in the thing and force me to slug or if Im gone they can get out before I get back.

yeah, just slug them (the first guy that comes back to make the save) and go after the others. I would never intentionally eat DS unless you are at a clear advantage, or need that survivor dead ASAP. Getting their DS when you have an advantage means you can just tunnel and kill them later.

  • ;) i'm jk, i would have let u go

    Quick recap. What happened was:

    1) Ruin was nerfed

    2) Games became easier for survivor.

    3) Survivors ranked up so now there are a lot in the purple and red ranks.

    4) Killers were getting trounced and struggling to pip.

    5) People stopped playing killer.

    6) Survivors now get ranked with any killer who bothers to turn up. Matchmaking isn't really something that happens anymore.

I don't think it's hard to win (4k) or pip as killer, even post ruin nerfs, I just had to change my playstyle a bit and juggle more. I find it funny though when you play against some of these swfs who have clearly been bullying low rank killers all day, because their movement is so bad and they forget out to mindgame.

But, I can totally see how low rank killers are constantly at a disadvantage now because they get overwhelmed.

So there I was, getting absolutely pounded by doctor. All of my team mates were on the ground getting put on the hook. He opened the gate to put a time limit on. I was smart enough to crawl away and look around for the exit gates.(this was that one demo map) I finally make it to the gate when I see doctor rushing down from the hallway. Right there, he picked me up and put me on the hook. I was the last alive and the hatch was closed sooo. Would you guys let me live in that situation?

no, i would have picked you up and put you on the ground next to the hatch, and closed it in your face and let you bleed out.

This topic has been brought up many many times. But it's a staple survivor perk so they won't touch it for at least another 2 years. It's like turning off aim assist in a FPS. If they did that soooo many people would suddenly suck and they'll stop playing. BHVR won't risk losing 4/5's of their customers.

this game dies in 2 months, dunno why you talking about 2 years LOL.

On topic: if you are in an advantageous position as killer, just call their bluff and eat the DS 1% of the time they might actually miss it too. If it is already endgame and you have lost, you can just wait out the timer in the locker, or fake walking away and try to slug if they attempt to get out slowly (lust make sure you lunge and not tap M1).

I want to see your gameplay as clown making sure survivors at red ransk don't finish 5 gens in less then 4 minutes

I don't think this guy plays at a high level (the person you are replying to), if anyone is actually defending this game right now, they are blind. Further down he is saying legion and bubba can apply pressure on large maps means he is playing against bad survivors. This can only happen if survivors make the mistakes (ie survivors making the map small enough to patrol), or you slug. If you are playing against good survivors, or anyone with a brain, you will not win.

  • @PNgamer said:

As a Mainsurvivor, gens are flying with and without toolboxes. It is to ez and boring atm. No wonder why killer´s stop playing more and more. How they can do more pressure ? Theres no way.

1 chase 3 gens done ....its a joke

I couldn't really agree more, I've said this on the forums many times, the fact that they think bandaiding toolboxes would actually solve anything is laughable. The devs and balance team have really lost sight of this game. If myself or someone in my swf ever use a toolbox, it is usually to meme with, I would say 90% of our matches are just gen rushing until the end game. Our games on average usually last 6 minutes, unless we are ######### around or purposely 3 gen to make the game remotely interesting. This is at rank 1 mind you, although that probably means less and less when the matchmaking puts us against a red ranked killer 1/20 games. Pretty much everything about this game right now is complete #########.

  • @AhoyWolf said:

He does have map and gen pressure, with addons he does have a passive slowdown, he can spam dream snares or dream pallets without a penalty.

The only penalty he does have is the small loss of a cooldown when he fakes the teleport.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not calling for nerfs, I just feel that he requires almost zero skill for high reward.

But I want to get better at playing against him, so please can you tell me some tips that could help me?

I can agree, freddy is quite braindead, but he is one of the only killers that can adequately apply the necessary gen pressure the devs obviously want in this game. At a high level he can be countered by being awake (turning him into a straight m1 killer). If you are asleep though, you lose.

I've done three matches today and gone against purple and red ranks I find a match in seconds I'm literally rank 16 why am I going against high rank what happened to the matchmaking

no one plays this game anymore, and most high rank killers would rather just play survivor then have to sweat. I feel sorry for you low rank killers, but this is what happen when you destroy you game. When myself and my swf go against you guys we try to apologize as much as possible after the game, hopefully you guys don't get too sad, it's not really fun for us either at this point. :/

  • @twistedmonkey said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1116096#Comment_1116096

Of course they do and the events only showed that it is then better to be something beneficial.

Totems were the only real other secondary objective but unless they needed to be done like say for devour hope or at end game with noed then why bother?

After rereading your post, i'm not sure if you're agreeing with me or what. Anyway I wrote this to further explain why survivors don't care about totems:

Survivors typically only go on totems if they are lit or get notifications that they are active or activated, etc. This is why things like noed and devour hope actually work and catch people off guard. Secondary objectives don't work because there are no real incentives for survivors to do them. Survivors need to do gens to leave, they're not going to hunt for 5x random totems to prevent noed, especially if they don't know how many still remain. Noed being active for 1% of the match doesn't really affect their survival, the killer has to actually hook people AND be far away for them to get devour stacks (most survivors unhook in the killers face with BT, most killers can't even 3 hooks to even activate it).

  • @twistedmonkey said:

This is why they are introducing the likes of sabo back into the game as a way to give survivors something else to do.

You don't want more time on gens as its the most monotonous part of the game.

survivors don't care about secondary objectives. Unless it is part of an event, but bhvr doesn't do events anymore anyway.

  • @Inji said:

I can assure you that the devs do indeed care about killers. They make changes based on the game as a whole, meaning that they make changes on both sides.

Maybe not all in the same patches, but they do make forward momentum.

Personally would love to see breakable walls be implemented to other maps a well. Changes dont come over night unfortunately. So map changes will take time.

You guys change ruin, without giving back anything to help out with early game gen speed. I have to apologize to killers because i can make 3 gens pop in their face before they get a single hit on people. Next patch will also not address this. This is how you kill your own game. Once these low rank killers get tired of getting bullied by high rank survivors, because your "matchmaking" sucks (not because people are tired of playing killer at high rank), no one will be left. Guess we can all go play deathgarden, oh wait...

  • @LetsPlayTogether said:

Gen speeds are fine. Ruin didnt have any benefit in high ranks, cause survivors could work through easily or it popped after a minute. So obviously nothing really changed. Gen speeds arent an issue at all cause it all depends on the killer being able to pressure survivors. If gens speed would be an issue noone would be able to 4k. But my Trapper 3/4ks far more regularly than being outplayed by survivors.

lol wut? is that why it was used in 80% of games?

He's not horrible, but outside of survivors being out of position, or someone is farming off hooks, his power is terrible without speed addons. PWYF/NEM is a decent choice, I'd also recommend bamboozle to shut down some loops or catch a survivor off guard for your chainsaw. Spirit fury/enduring build is also OK, but his gen pressure is ######### overall.

  • @Todgeweiht said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1114589#Comment_1114589

No, but knowing how to loop and mindgame the killer does.

i mean, you can say that works both ways, killer needs to know how to counter loops. The issue is that on most maps, the time it takes to patrol, find someone, loop with them, hit them twice, and hook them, can cost bad killers the game, especially killers that need ramp up or have low mobility. I don't find killer hard right now, just running corrupt is usually enough to help early game, but I can understand where bad/new players are frustrated.

  • @LetsPlayTogether said:

Killers arent forced to tunnel or camp. They do it because for them its the easiest way and not any skill needed, as well as they are able to annoy survivors.

We have servers in Sydney, for all platforms.

The issue you are seeing is caused by something different and impacts all XBOX players, not only AUS.

Players have been reporting high ping and being matched with far away servers on XBOX so we started to investigate. We found that this issue was impacting XBOX players only and, effectively, sending players to the wrong servers, and now we have started working on a fix.

In the meantime, we have deactivated Dedicated Servers for XBOX to prevent the issue from happening while we are working on it.

    Hope that helps.

not sure why you would say this is only an xbox issue, this happens on PC as well, just probably less frequent. You can tell the match/ping quality is quite different when you are connected to the east coast server and the west coast. I'd say 1 in 20 matches I'm connected to the west coast server, but i just leave at the lobby.

  • it's called grab dressing. in an alternate world, aka on her screen, she is miles away from you. her 30 ping vs your 45. servers just can't deal with that type of latency difference. /s

fact: devs can't code for dedicated servers.

  • @Mooks said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1113008#Comment_1113008

Um many people, especially Killer mains in this forum, were complaining about (multiple) toolboxes and how they support genrushing extremely though. Devs reacted to it, but they just can’t make anything correctly.

Having a gen completed in 80 seconds at a bare minimum while having no difficult doing it (ie holding M1 and hitting a very simple audio/visual cue) is the real issue. I've played plenty of matches to where 3 gens can be done without the killer being able to find/land the first hit (this is at rank 1 btw). If i'm in my normal swf we often times purposely 3 gen ourselves just to give the killer a chance and allow us to farm each other off hooks. Couple that with matchmaking being the worst it has ever been and the game is toast. I don't remember the last time myself or any swf partners have needed or used a toolbox during our matches (unless we are memeing). Toolboxes aren't even a bandaid to any issues the killers are facing. I've said this before, but the devs took the only thing in the game that made skillchecks even someone skillful. I don't mind a majority of my matches lasting 6-8 minutes, but i've never played a game where I actively have to apologize to a member of the enemy team so frequently, either because of their lack of skill (because they are either bad or just low rank) or because the game was so unfavorable to them from the start that they didn't stand the slightest of chances.

  • @Chewy102 said:

An honest question to the devs, mods, or anyone that can reason it.

Why do Killer powers need server confirmation?

Ever since DbD went from p2p to servers all Killers have had their powers act oddly or simply break due to needing server confirmation. Billy has it harder to flutter his chainsaw. Demo and Nurse can often under charge shred. Shape and Ghostface can fail to stalk when in front of someone. Clown's bottles are jank to toss. Freddy has odd delays to snares. Every Killer is effected by the server confirmation adding a delay to using their powers and even Deathslinger as well suffers from it.

Why? Why not have that client side to avoid ALL of those problems and bugs?

Short answer, devs don't know how to code for dedicated servers.

  • @YaiPa said:

it's been proven to be a bug, probably not even related to dedicated servers (despite dedicated servers made it even worse). Basically a guy was doing Instagrab doc (months ago), then his grab was canceled and turnt into a hit, which is impossible on paper, right? Wrong, remember what game this is.

This is 100% latency related. Or at least that is their excuse. It's funny, as survivor you can be hit by killer through a pallet or through your dead hard because the devs say "you don't see what the killer sees", then the killer can get cucked out of grabs because "they don't see what the survivor sees".

  • It's called "Grab Dressing", welcome to DBD dedicated servers, this 'feature' is here to stay!

Also did you fill out a bug report? devs can't do anything about anything unless there is a bug report.

  • @theArashi said:

So first we lost ruin so that survivors have it easier which pretty much results in almost every game being very short.

Now devs decided that best way to fix it is to let survivors always keep their item(it's not like every survivor has hundreds of copies of the same one after all), change every toolbox into BNP and bring back sabo meta so that killer can't even hook anyone anymore.

    Did I get it right?

Oh and Legion has a doo doo gun now.

imagine how out of touch you are with your game when you feel toolboxes are primarily the problem LOLOLOL.

We all have 200 ping and are getting foreigners and I have messaged any Australians I have come across to get their opinion and they said their in the ######### too and some are quiting. My western au friend is always getting the foreign server too.

don't mind him, he literally will defend the devs til he dies, I would recommend contacting steam/xbox/ps and ask for a refund, tell them the game is literally unplayable at this point, and most of the time they will actually listen. people really shouldn't stand for this #########

  • @24Life said:

I think it's the matchmaking that has done it. I'm a survivor main, but I play killer more and more these days. The problem is its bad on both ends.

As a survivor you wait at least 5 minutes to get into a game and you're either with a group of similar ranked players, but facing a higher ranked killer. Or your with maybe one person near your rank and 2 potatoes. Which usually ends up causing you to lose pips or at best break even.

So I switch to killer and I get the same thing. I end up playing mostly boring 4k games against potatoes even though I'm rank 8 currently. And then there's the occasional hatch jumper or SWF who might get 2 out the door as they have the *cheating* ability to talk about every strategy, location, and opportunity. But usually I can still kill 3-4 of them with the right perks as well.

So I've found I'm pretty bored of the games dynamics at this point. Everyone's complaining that "they're fixing matchmaking!!". Well guess what, you won't be able to see other peoples ranks anymore with the update so you won't know how bad it will still be!

Oh and camping will get extremely bad because now as a crap rank killer camping a high rank survivor you will cause that survivor to lose even more pips because the rank progress will be based off of the difference in rank to begin with. Smh...

    End rant. I'm out. Peace.

Agreed, can't wait for the secret MMR, so you will just get partied with/against potatoes all the time and just have to deal with it. These guys really know how to kill their game, cause they keep stacking more and more ######### on us without address any of the complaints.

  • @supersonic853 said:

So shooting people with deathslingers gun doesnt count as a offensive action when doing stuff like smacking a survivor with FF does? That seems kinda weird. (Not that im complaining i always thought pwyf should only really go down if you hit with a basic attack)

  • @GamingHulk123 said:

This is starting to become more of a problem. I chased a survivor for 30 seconds and got 1 hit, but 3 gens get completed. Everyone keeps blaming the maps, but even if you did fix the maps, you will still have to chase 1 survivor at a time. By time you down that survivor, 3 gens can still be done. We need more time to build pressure, can you add a slow down mechanic, or new types of skill checks. Anything to slow down the gen speeds. I would get teased for "Not being a good killer" when I don't even get a hook before all the gens are complete. Could you please do something about this MAJOR problem.

What killer are you using, and what build? I can't defend these devs at all, because I feel what they've allowed to happen to this game is inexcusable and the fact they took the only perk out the game that actually made skillchecks, skillful, has made the game way too easy for survivors to snowball (at least when I play survivor) in the early game. Especially when I play with swf, we typically INTENTIONALLY 3 gen just to give the killer a chance at the end. With BT/Unbreakable/DS, it makes it almost impossible to the killer to even kill any one of us, unless they facecamp. When I play killer, I just have to play as well as I can now, without knowing your build or who you tend to play as killer, I would say run corrupt, juggle early/ do not commit to long chases or strong loops, and slug when you feel necessary. I've not had any real issues with killer games at red ranks, are there games where 2-3 gens pop in my face very early in the game, yes, does that necessarily mean I automatically lose, no. Does it feel like ######### if it happens, yes. I do feel that gen speed is to blame, and I feel like the devs have lost their minds that they think that toolboxes are the immediate culprit. Just keep your head up and keep trying to get better.

  • It's not hitboxes, it's hit dressing. Imagine making a FPS character and you have this bad of hitbox/lag. Can't wait for this dumpsterfire to go live.

  • @ZoneDymo said:

I honestly dont understand the problem, so you used a key and escaped, good, match over, moving on.

Mori's are a tad more problematic as someone can be tunneled and mori'd very early on and now survivors are just F'd for the rest but keys are fairly endgamey.

Quicker killer moris, quicker you get to use your key. Both are balanced.

  • Agreed, this killer is a disappointment, and really can only do things in open spaces. Even if he catches someone, his gens get done before he can pat. He's just a bad huntress.

  • @Crythor said:

Since a while i notice the following problem:

    As survivor:

    • While repairing a gen, healing, opening a chest, saboing, unhooking snaping out of it and so on the game stops registering that you hold mouse 1 eventhough you still hold it canceling the action.

    As a killer:

    • The game dosent register that i hold mouse 1 for a lunge and does a fast swing (like if you tap m1) instead. The killer side happens way less.

I tested it with 4 diffrent mouses and 5 diffrent usb ports. It dosent change the issue, so it cant be hardware related (2 friends of mine have the exact same issue on their PC aswell). And while the issue dosent happen every game its still annoying.

Since it happens as killer too it shouldnt be a ping issue right? So what causes it?

OP, do you play at high resolutions greater than 1080P? If so do or don't, do you scale your UI like this picture:

    Untitled Image

If you have this anything higher than 100%, your game will lag with clicks as you describe.

If this doesn't apply to you, then the game just sucks :/

Trusted Members are not paid by BHVR and aren't forced to defend their decisions. Here's an example of me being upset at the developers, notice how I'm being constructive with my feedback:

More information about Trusted Members can be found here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/89809/pilot-the-trusted-members#latest

Also, if you have any questions, send me a message on my wall. I prefer if we keep the discussion on topic for OP. 😁

I applaud you for showing how trusted members still have opinions, but I have no idea who you are or why you are posting in this guys thread, if you have something like this to tell me, maybe DM next time. I also think we should keep this OT, nice pic though and glad the devs are your heroes, I like how you made it so big for people to see.

OP, I agree with you, I think they devs are also doing a ######### job with how they are handling DCs, and anyone thinking the devs can't simply implement a system to detect when someone hits the leave match vs their game just dcing them out of the match is mental. You literally get to keep the BPs you earned in the match, the game says the killer dc'd but you get hit with the DC penalty.

  • oh, if that's how you feel, i don't feel bad for you at all then. but you clearly do.

Conveniently enough, we did an entire stream on this last week.

The short version is; there's a disagreement between what you see and what the other guys sees. One of you sees the pallet down in spite of being hit. One of you sees a hit before the pallet is dropped.

i can say without a doubt that when I play killer, the survivor stuns me and i still hit them blatantly after the pallet was dropped/I was stunned.

  • @Peanits said:

A free pass on your first 6 disconnects is an awful lot. I don't think I've disconnected from 6 matches in the last year let alone in one day. Especially given the average amount of time people play the game, that could very easily give them a green light to disconnect from every single match they play that day.

If you're unwillingly losing connection to that many matches, that sounds like you've got a pretty serious connection issue. While it's unfortunate, it's on you to make sure that's resolved before playing any online game, since leaving in the middle of a match makes the game worse for the other people in the match.

As ######### as your servers are, I find it very laughable you would blame any user for connection issues.

Yes, as I said, they have immediate plans to do at least one thing to address the issue, which is changing toolboxes. As for the thread, I wouldn't expect any game-related plans to have come out of it yet. The only thing I can imagine within the timeframe since that thread was posted is that it might have prompted some further internal discussion on the topic. Not saying you shouldn't ask, just trying to give you a general idea of what to expect in the current absence of an official response 😊

Dont worry, I got your point and I appreciate that! Thanks for trying to help and share your view^^

I guess you are right, showing him videos of good players where he can see how some ppl handle some chases would help. I personally as Killer main was really trash as survivor, I learned alot by watching noob3 when I was new.

It does help if they have interest, the one thing I really don't like about this game is that it's so hard to play with friends that aren't as skilled or are just new. To ask them to rank up multiple people, buy a base game and dlc, and then have to rank those people up is pretty rough to many. The progression system for new players need some work for sure. But yeah just give him words of encouragement lol. I've had some friends get really good, and some friends stop playing after a few sessions.
