I..know? It's because they messed with it now sometimes it's 0 seconds. I literally run at 4m/s or less post hit sometimes.

Ah, so what we're talking here isn't really that the killer does 4 × as much work as a survivor so should get more, but instead a rather crafty BP harvesting scheme to increase everyone's BP by boosting the BP intake so much one side, that there would always be a shortfall of survivors, and therefore always a higher incentive for survivor.
You cunning fox you!👉😏👉
I would like to note that I didn't say that killer should have 4X flat btw.
Anyhoo,yeah,I dont think buffing Killer BP even by 69% would make the BP gain bad,since matchmaking incentives would balance it out lmao
-
@Marc_go_solo said:
It doesn't feel right to do that, as the killer has a completely different objective. Also, if one side got more BP, then nearly everyone would play killer, and the queues would be horrific.
but then if killer got more BP and people play too much killer, people who play survivor will get incentives and get more BP

According to the devs,this game is CPU-Bound. However I'm still seeing a 100% GPU utilization at Medium-Low setting at 100% resolution or auto-adjust on PC with my 3080. Constant dips of my 99% FPS which makes the game feel EXTREMELY laggy capped because it legit stutters like that every 3-7 seconds and with 120 it at least drops to 63-75 FPS instead of 22-34 FPS.
Something tells me this game is still blueprint code which is just really bad. Who would've guessed.

And as someone asked/mentioned earlier, yes, you get back all 1k Auric Cells that you put into the Premium tier when you complete it. I bought 1k of them way back and just recycle them with each new Tome. I wait until I'm done with the max level on the Free tier (to make sure I get the full amount of Auric Cells back) then unlock the Premium tier and it dumps all of those items in my inventory.
yeah i mentioned it. i remember painstakingly calculating it manually lmao

No I think survivor score events could get a buff especially more way to gain points in survival and less for escaping 7k is insane, encouraging altruism more in endgame would be nice.. atm you can tap gens to max survival points, you know it's bad when the game is better thanks to a bug
some killers have really bad deviousness gains too, and sacrifice is impossible to max ?
yeah the whole 10K category cap was super rushed
-
yeah this has been a bug with blight for forever now. it happens a ton when you specifically use alchemist ring (L,karma) and sometimes you enter fatigue after first rush instantly even without.

I was very sad it had a bunch of Jonah stuff in it. He's very ugly compared to my girl characters.
my favorite part about the Jonah outfit is that his cap is on backwards,so it doesn't block the sun and the description says it helps block the sun.

@Seraphor said:
Killer doesn't put in 4 times the work of 1 survivor, because they have more effective tools with which to complete their objective. But they do have to focus and acheive more than any 1 survivor.
I'd say it's about right where it is, with the killer getting on average 20-50% more than survivors when they win.
I didn't say 4 times,I just mentioned that maybe they should gain even a bit more than they do right now.

People complain that Spine Chill with Vault Speed is strong.
I ask what is the problem with strong perks. In my opinion there is nothing wrong with having a perk that is strong, there is a problem with perks that are overpowered or ruin the game for others.
Dead Hard is an overpowered perk that needed to get nerfed.
Decisive Strike was a game ruining perk because if you got unhooked during the endgame you essentially got out for free.
I think you'd be hardpressed to make an argument that Spine Chill with vault speed is overpowered. Strong? Yes, but like I said, there is nothing wrong with strong.
I will take to my grave that Spine Chill with vault speed was not overpowered. I will take to my grave that the vault speed build was only strong because of the threat of Dead Hard which no longer exists in this patch. Many popular meta builds before the midchapter update weren't even vault speed builds simply because better options were available.
The broken part of Spine Chill was the fact that Stealth Killers auto-lost to this perk on top of the fact that it was just a generally good perk. This update did not change this, but instead made a perk so difficult to understand that nobody bothers running it.
vault speed build was always a band-aid on how terrible DBD'S networking is

I will grant you that BHVR have the power to expand the functionality of the killswitch, but that doesn't mean I'm incorrect or nonsensical to point out that it currently has a clear and defined function.
Of course they see the data there. Plenty of games don't have these perks you're talking about, and how players react to those perks not being in play isn't going to change much if they know those perks are disabled instead of simply not present. At best you'd see a handful of new builds, and what's the meaningful takeaway from that? As soon as you re-enable whatever perk you're talking about, we're back to normal. It's only meaningful data if removing these perks permanently is on the table, which it obviously isn't.
And yes. Player agency. Whether you think it's silly or not, people would be very angry if stuff was killswitched completely arbitrarily. That's not a reality we or BHVR get to ignore.
I dunno. If BHVR said "hey we're killswitching this perk to investigate it's potential negative impact on the game,please bear with us" I'd be like "hell yeah! bhvr is trying to look into the perk's effects and are trying to make good design choices. Even if it was my favorite overpowered perk or something,i'd still feel that way.

It's not "this has not been done before", it's "this is completely different and opposed to the function of the mechanic you're invoking".
Still, my points stand. Disabling things people like to use will achieve nothing beyond making people angry- the devs already have the data you're talking about here, because they can see the results of the matches that don't have any given perk or type of perk. It's not like that data would necessarily be shown to the playerbase, so even satisfying idle curiosity for a handful of players wouldn't come of it, it'd only annoy the people who wanted to use the perks that were disabled.
The reason it's relevant that bloodlust is a base game mechanic is because disabling it doesn't remove player agency. It doesn't tell players that they're arbitrarily not allowed to use a thing they may want to, just because there's some "experiment" happening.
I suggested using the killswitch because that's an easy tool for BHVR to use,that's it. "This opposes the function of the killswitch" makes no sense. It's a tool for BHVR to use however they see fit.
They don't really see the data there, I've already made the point that if a player knows CoH isn't in play,they can do hit and run. It's also far more data,when all the players who constantly run the perk can't run it it creates a far different game environment.
Also really? Player agency? "Oh no I can't run "this one perk" or "this one map is not in rotation" I have no player agency anymore". That's so silly.
-
@YOURFRIEND said:
The kill switch is for game breaking stuff. Crashes, bugs whatever. It's not for data collection.
Who said it has to be?
-
@jesterkind said:
None of these things are broken or bugged in an abusable way, so there's absolutely no reason to killswitch them?
Or are you making more of a comparison to the bloodlust experiment? Because that's a different thing too, bloodlust is a base mechanic so it makes way more sense to try disabling it for a while. Just randomly disabling things people like using would only achieve making people angry, it makes no sense to try that.
The only thing that would make sense to try disabling for a weekend would be the aim dressing mechanic, because it's a base game mechanic that might be more trouble than it's worth.
Yeah I'm looking at this as a way for them to utilize the killswitch for more experiments. I think seeing the game in it's current balance state just without CoH would be very,very interesting,along with other perks to be removed temporarily.
I think it's silly to say "this has not been done before" as this is a suggestion for them to try out more stuff.

Maybe they want data on how the boon users play without boons?
this also. I think there is inherent bias at looking at the data without killswitching the perk. The people that run it rn and wouldnt be able to run it are the most interesting demographic imo.

1) They know how games without circle of healing go because there are games without circle of healing
2) They already know things like average killrate per map, not that I'm going to complain about eyrie or garden being disabled for any reason at all
3) Kinda the same as 1 but a zero slowdown period would be interesting. You might also just get a load of people just not play killer until they have them back
and yeah, maybe at the same time as people don't have slowdown,we could killswitch all items as medkits and toolboxes are the things that make getting enough pressure to slow the gens down without perks really tough. the overall message is just to make the game more varied via kill switching,while gathering feedback.

I'm still gonna stick with the argument that when people know a certain powerful perk is not in play,new strategies and gameplay scenarios can emerge.

They are getting Data from matches without these perks though. I have plenty of matches where the survivor side doesn’t bring CoH for example, they already have access to the data which kind of impact that perk has.
same with maps, they can see the difference of matches based on the maps.
the bloodlust weekend experiment was done because literally every single match has bloodlust enabled on default. I would love to see more of these kind of experiments as well, but it doesn’t make sense on optional mechanics..
I disagree! When players know a certain overly strong thing is taken out of the game, they can tailor their builds around it.
Plus, overall trends and game feel cannot be gathered from the matches where by chance there isn't a perk or it's not a certain map.
Also, it's just going to shake up the game meta without much work on BHVR's part.

Review bombing =/= changing your opinion on a game. Its done specifically to coerce the developers into changing to your demands. There is absolutely a difference between that and extremes like you offer. Its also worth noting thats why the ratings about specific chapters vary, negative chapters have negative reviews because they're negatively received... and yet thats also still not the same as reviewbombing the game itself.
I dunno. I changed my review for the game just because I really feel like it's not very fun anymore. I didn't "review bomb". I don't care if BHVR suddenly goes back on changes because of that. I just changed as my feelings about the game changed.
Generalizing it as review bombing feels misleading to me.

@Ryuhi said:

This is what i don't understand. being annoyed with changes is perfectly understandable, but review bombing is straight up throwing a tantrum. Both sides have certainly had their share of dark times and game breaking bugs, but this reaction is peak entitlement. Reviews are supposed to be based on your overall experience, not a current state of a shifting game. You can include that information in a review, but thats not the same at all.
Imo this is just a plainly wrong take. If BHVR hypothetically released a Bugging Of Kin 2 now and the game was literally unplayable and they buffed nurse people 100% would be justified in leaving a bad review.
If you had good times with a game and then some changes made you no longer enjoy it, it's 100% fair to review it badly.

While I would prefer they increase the speed boost for survivors, I think killer mains wouldn't enjoy that. They are better off nerfing the percentage per stack of STBFL, it is ridiculous when it is fully stacked. Many killers are also able to avoid losing stacks making it crazy.

I mean it is an anticheat, but it is also on BHVR as they control the anticheat. Like you said the system should track flying people etc. And auto ban instantly but it doesn't
It's not an anticheat. The issue is that the game logic is handled on the client. If the client only sent inputs of their keys and the server calculated everything else,flyhacking would literally be impossible.
-
i am so tired of repeating,this is not an anticheat problem. the issue is that BHVR doesn't have the skills or doesn't want to spend the money to move game logic to server side so hackers can't fly around
