Here's An Interesting Question

In an assymetrical game such as Dead By Daylight where the Killer performs the same amount of work as 4 other players, should their bloodpoint gain be the same as only one of the survivor players or should they gain more overall,as the Killer role is inherently a bit harder than the survivor role? (Because it's an Asym, not balance or whatever)

tl;dr if the killer is equal to 4 survivor players, why should they only get the BPs equivalent to 1 if their work should be valued more? Discuss!

  • Killer doesn't put in 4 times the work of 1 survivor, because they have more effective tools with which to complete their objective. But they do have to focus and acheive more than any 1 survivor.

I'd say it's about right where it is, with the killer getting on average 20-50% more than survivors when they win.

I didn't say 4 times,I just mentioned that maybe they should gain even a bit more than they do right now.

  • Killers already gain more bloodpoints on average than a survivor, so I think they're already "compensated", if it makes sense. Plus, it is not like killer needs to have the skill of 4 person combined, their role is already made powerful to compensate for the 4 v 1.

Also, there are already plenty of former survivor players who stopped playing that role as it feels unrewarding and it's easier to gain bloodpoints as killer, so if the killer bloodpoints were doubled or more ? There would be virtually no survivors left, everyone would want to play killer.

"There would be virtually no survivors left, everyone would want to play killer."

When you see that after the last update, the waiting time as a killer has drastically increased ... proof that a lot of players actually want the "easy" way ... if on top of that we give one more reason to these people to go and play as killers ... my God ... 🤣

I don't think it means people want the "easy way", since playing killer is not necessarily easy, especially as you get up there in mmr.

I think some survivors stopped playing because of the toll the increase in losses took on their morale, especially since some mmrs were hit harder than others. There is also an increase in tunneling and camping, which gets old fast. In these conditions, it's fair to say a lot of survivors could not have as much fun as before or farm as viably as they used to.

In turn, killer is not necessarily easy, but it's easier for beginners, and even a fat loss as killer awards more points than an average survivor game lost. So they don't want easy wins, they want games that are fun for them and that rewards them with enough points to keep unlocking perks and make fun builds.

I think there's some of that too, you're right 🤗

I play as much killer on survivor, but when I start Discord, and join my team, I actually hear more "X or Y tunneled us/camp." than before, and I also see it directly in game... and somewhere ... yes, I can completely understand that it can bore a survivor ... so he leaves on the killer side to take his mind off it, yes ... 🙄

I just hope that these killers who camp / tunnel ... are NOT survivors who have passed to the other side because they have suffered too much in the past 🤣

  • No I think survivor score events could get a buff especially more way to gain points in survival and less for escaping 7k is insane, encouraging altruism more in endgame would be nice.. atm you can tap gens to max survival points, you know it's bad when the game is better thanks to a bug

some killers have really bad deviousness gains too, and sacrifice is impossible to max ?

I hope so as well, that would be the ultimate betrayal haha !

  • BP economy is bad for the game health, everyone should get 5x BPs ALL THE TIME whether they are killer or survivor.

It's usual for killers to have more BP because they will always stay in the game, but when survivors escape they deserves to have equivalent BP too.

  • Where survivors get screwed is when they only do one thing for the entire game 🤔

The killer is forced to multi-task because he is alone to do everything 😅

The survivors are four, so it's up to them to figure out how to turn on the tasks to collect the most BP 😊

On the other hand, we talk about the fact that raising the BP limit to 2M ... is still too low? 😁

  • I don’t think killers need more bloodpoints than survivors simply because they have less downtime and have a lot of maneuvering around the map to do during play. It really comes down to what you actually need to spend bloodpoints on in the first place.

Killers buy perks, add-ons and offerings, that’s it, and once you’ve bought a perk it’s locked in forever. So once you have the perks you really want the only thing you’re buying are add-ons and offerings, and honestly unless you are really, really fishing for some specific add-on you can basically just use what you find in one bloodweb per match and do just fine.

Survivors end up grinding a bit more in comparison because not only do they buy perks and offerings like killers but they also buy equipment and add-ons that are specific to specific pieces of equipment. So if you like using a toolbox each match for instance, you not only need to potentially find a new tools in the bloodweb after each match (depending on if you lose it) but you also will want to find add-ons that are specifically Tool add-ons versus the add-ons for flashlights or maps or keys or whatever. That makes the survivor bloodwebs effectively filled with a lot more “junk” you probably aren’t interested in so you may have to comb through two or three bloodwebs between matches just to get a new set of two add-ons plus maybe a new item that you actually like.

So even if you assume it costs the same amount of bloodpoints for survivors to get all the perks and offerings they want, there is still a difference in cost when it comes to the rest of the loadout. I wouldn’t be all that surprised if survivors tend to grind bloodwebs maybe twice as much as killers when it comes to replacing their add-ons and equipment.

  • It doesn't feel right to do that, as the killer has a completely different objective. Also, if one side got more BP, then nearly everyone would play killer, and the queues would be horrific.

    You're right.

The survivor can engage 4 elements in the game.

    The killer, 3.

    That's it, everything is said.

I can confirm that as a survivor, it is sometimes a monumental PURGE to find what you want in the web.

Suggestion: BHVR, could you implement a system of exchange of items / accessories / offerings:

    - between characters of the same account

    - between different characters

No because having 40 purple flashlights is good ... but if you never use them, and you have a friend who is a specialist in the field and lacks them ... 🤔

In the same way that ... how to say ... what do you want me to do with these tens of "Midwich" offerings on my nurse ??? 😂

but then if killer got more BP and people play too much killer, people who play survivor will get incentives and get more BP

Ah, so what we're talking here isn't really that the killer does 4 × as much work as a survivor so should get more, but instead a rather crafty BP harvesting scheme to increase everyone's BP by boosting the BP intake so much one side, that there would always be a shortfall of survivors, and therefore always a higher incentive for survivor.

    You cunning fox you!👉😏👉

I would like to note that I didn't say that killer should have 4X flat btw.

Anyhoo, yeah,I dont think buffing Killer BP even by 69% would make the BP gain bad, since matchmaking incentives would balance it out lmao
