I'm currently rank 4, and I was only 1 pip away from rank 3, I have never ever DC before, although the game crashed while loading quite a few times. This game is full of bugs, crashes and #########. And this time, the game crashed right at the beginning of the match. It counted it as a DC and it gave me a penalty (I opened the game right away and it had like 3 mins left, so I'm not complaining about it being a long penalty)

But ######### -2 pip for something that's the devs fault and even it was the first time it happenned? Really?

I think we did a pretty good job so far

One pips really mean nothing at this point. You lose one you gain one. 2 its a visual bug you only lose one pip per DC

And they simply need to adress those kind of situations. Bodyblocking a survivor in a corner is fine, but using that to remove them from play is not.

A better solution that has more interesting play overall? If 50% or more of the survivors are touching Charlotte's hitbox, make her lose collision instantly. This makes it so that if you make the mistake of hiding in a corner against the Twins, your teammates can always set you free. But it also means that if a Charlotte has poorly positioned herself in a pallet, survivors can team up and still get use out of that pallet.

Fair enough. I just hate being stuck somewhere (not a corner) because of them. and for long periods of time not briefly before getting hit.

  • @bm33 said:

I'm glad they removed her collision. Twins players were abusing it way too often.

I dont mind the body blocking in chase and all that but the b s spots just trigger me is all. Maybe if they had it so collision went away after a certain amount of time that would be fair.

  • @Predated said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/247503/collision

Its not a bug, its due to Bloodlodge and Coldwind Farm maps having doorways to the basement that can be fully blocked. Meaning Charlotte can stand there theoretically blocking 3 survivors with you not being able to do anything about it.

As for you agreeing on the lack of collision, I'd say you'd be wrong there. Placing her body strategically to prevent access to something is very legitimate. Victor cant injure healthy survivors, Victor cant pop gens, you have 0 access to perk effects other than passive perks(Stridor and Sloppy) as Victor. So using Charlotte to bodyblock 1 single spot on the map is fine.

There are certain maps where she can legit block you and trap you with control of victor. It happened to me and it wasn't fun. Was blocked in the school basement in Springwood for 15 minutes because my team didn't want to open the gates until I was out. Sure the survivors could have opened the gate but didnt seem fair that i was stuck there because of the poor map design.

  • @valvarez4 said:

Surv perk: press active button when working on a gen to regress it 25%. Next time you touch another gen this gen will be done 15% and the perk is consumed. This can help with 3 gen strategy, when you’re doing far gens or when you’re working in a gen with another surv

this will only make gen placement less important

  • that would cause way too many issues with the unhooking. You can already stop a heal by pressing the sprint button. But being able to kick someone off of a save will cause far too many issues.

  • I dont have a name for it and I have recently thought about another killer perk to help in chase and that would synergize with such. When being stunned by any means. IE DS pallets wiggle out your movement speed is increase by .2/.4/.6 for 30 seconds. Bloodlust cannot activate while the perk is active. Cooldown of 180/120/60 seconds.

  • @miketheratguy said:

I don't mind being slugged if the killer then runs off to do something else. I have fun trying to figure out a spot to crawl to where he might not see me. Plus there is, of course, the chance for another teammate to find and heal me.

It's the slugging and camping, especially if I'm the last survivor, that's scummy. Just play the game and let us both move on with our lives.

Ok that I get.. But when a survivor is downed and another survivor decides to dance around in front of me I am NOW going to chase that other survivor no matter how many gens are left. I don't get where the entitlement of ohh you downed me you HAVE to pick me up no matter what comes from.

  • @Blueberry said:

They consider it scummy because it's checking their egos. It pseudo makes them feel like "I'm better than you enough that I'm confident I can down you again if you get up".

As you pointed out the hate for slugging is completely irrational. There are even a multitude of reasons why you should prefer being slugged.

Most that slugging hate stems from them not actually playing killer to any significant degree to understand why they slug. Most people that only play survivor think the killer just decides if he feels like slugging which couldn't be further from the truth. The killer typically only slugs when the survivors present the opportunity, IE playing bad.

Then they bring up how the scenario of slugging at 5 gens is bad. As we've gone over the killer didn't just randomly decide to slug at 5 gens, they played bad and handed him a slug opportunity. If the killer is actually able to pull off a 5 gen 4 man slug the survivors are completely outclassed and way worse than the killer or the survivors just played really, really bad. IE either scenario it is, it's because the survivors played worse than the killer, significantly. That scenario is never happening with survivors that are even remotely decent at the game.

Slugging is also basically required to even have a chance at winning if the group of survivors are actually good. There is literally not enough time to down and one hook each survivor one at a time and get 12 hooks.

This is a circumstance of people playing bad and being unwilling to take responsibility for it so they make excuses, or simply not playing both sides enough to understand the balance of the game.

    Amen to that brotha.

The one who called me scummy ran a Key as well. I said you teabag me and taunt me with a key and im the scummy one? If i down someone don't run in my LOS and i wont slug simple as that

  • @scenekiller said:

It's only toxic if you do it toward the beginning of a match for no reason, or leave the last survivor to bleed out just to waste their time

I get thats how people feel but if there are survivors running in the killers face after he gets the down why wouldn't the killer chase after them?

  • @Altarf said:

I mean, killer powers are basically the ultimate crutches. If you can't catch me at shack and 3 connected jungle gyms as an M1 killer, you're clearly just bad.

I joke, but I have been told that I only win because I used my power.

I get that a lot as well. You only won because you have hatchets!!!!

  • Don't corner yourself if you dont want to be blocked in. I usually run solo and stay away from team mates if i dont want to be bothered There are ways to avoid people;

  • @Seanzu said:

You know the majority of people don't actually struggle against SWF. The ones that do just seem to congregate on this forum and create a huge echo chamber, I would suggest putting more hours into killer, it's not that hard.

There are def teams that are DISGUSTINGLY sufficient and make the game unwinnable. And I am ok with that.

  • @Sluzzy said:

As easy as killer is, why on gods earth is it necessary to crutch on the same things over and over for free wins? Does it not get boring winning very easy?

First game of the day: Hillbilly with Ruin and Tinkerer

Second game of the day: Nurse also with Ruin, Tinkerer, and even Starstruck on top of that

Third game of the day: Huntress with Ruin. I killed myself and exited the game. I knew the 4th match would be another Huntress or a Spirit probably.

This is ridiculous and very embarrassing for killers. It's more embarassing for the devs that are so incompetent that they leave all of these training wheels in the game for killer to get a 4K every game.

Once again, balance the game and make it fair for a change and stop pandering to baby killers that want easy wins.

I dont know where killer being easy is even a thought in anyones mind. The reason killers use these perks is because of SWF. The mere fact that a team can come in and dictate the match is the reason killers use what they do. I never get upset about a killer using certain perks. Sur eits annoying when i am solo and the killer is built for a 4stack, but I do not blame them one bit because of how tough SWF can be.

  • Just had a game last night where i was doing Adept Nurse. There was a survivor who just straight up DCd because i was nurse. Played legit at first until all survivors started meming and crouching up to me. Giving me items. I let them all go downed them at the gate opened it for a slug race out was pretty fun.

  • @Rougual said:

    Unfortunately its gets even worse!

You DO get Devout progress, JUST A VERY LOW AMOUNT! This makes it so if you slug and bleed out survivors they can force you to take a Brutal Killer OR EVEN A RUTHLESS KILLER and prevent you from deranking.

Its so rude that survivors are helping me rank up, I just want to stay Rank 20 forever.

You dont get all 3 hook points toward the emblem tho and at Rank one you need iri everything to get a merciless killer. And when someone DCs it takes that away from you instantly. To DC on Fractured Cowshed against an adept jokester is beyond pitiful

  • @wxnickxw said:

    Yup

FYI I just got it against a 4 stack that brought me to Cowshed :)...... Rank 1 BTW

Nah, you guys will see once Wraith starts to get more attention by the masses looking for a new main after Freddy's nerfs go live. He's like Legion for his first hit (there are plenty of add-ons to mask the bell direction, proximity, and even silence it) then just has to stealth up your butt cheeks for the next hit. Or do hit and runs. Either way will work.

You do realize wraith was always good.

  • I enjoy this game even with ALL if its faults. Its THE ONLY game of its kind and I love it. Even if some things are annoying,. I dont think the devs created this game with competitive Gameplay in mind. I think they created for players to get a horror experience. And at times this game can be scary. What OTHER game can you play where you run and hide from ICONIC killers? there insnt one. I love this game and will play it till the servers die.

  • I just think they should remove map offerings all together imo.. In a game that is mostly RNG based to have offerings that 100% bring you to a map is kind contradictory

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    Simple answer: they don't

    if there's an offering from a survivor and an offering from a killer, it's a 50/50 chance. 3 offerings it's a 33/33/33 chance. 4 offerings it's 25/25/25/25. 5 map offerings it's a 20/20/20/20/20 chance of any of those offerings being picked.

4 games in A row was survivor map

  • @Zaytex said:

    Sacrificial wards exist.

And no, killers would just put on maps favourable to them like indoor maps or macmillian for coal tower and shelter woods.

even tho favorable still beatable. where as if someone is lets say demogorgon and they are trying out a build on hawkins and a swf wit 2 objects and keys throws up farm its NOT winnable in any sense

It’s a 1v4 tho so them having the upper hand should be the case.

im think it would be fine if killers had iri map offerings or survivors had to offer 4 of the same map to increase odds being sent there... or make them anti-map offerings instead

They ALREADY have the upper hand. Throwing a map that makes it even stronger for them is ridiculous. I understand if the killer DOESN'T throw a map up but if there are conflicting maps it should atleast be 50 50 EVERYTIME i throw a map up to try a meme build i get 2 object 4 stacks with a farm offering. Like doesnt that s**t get boring for you urvivors?

Oh yeah you can If you play solely as certain killers. But when you are Demo and you put your all into it and have a great game going and you are on rotten fields and they get to one gen and you apply that PRESSURE and they search a chest and pull a key its over

I did a test run last night and put appraisal on (no Plunderers) and got nothing but purple and green Items. Theres gotta be something wrong with the RNG.

You know that you can reliably 4k efficient SWFs with deadhard and keys, right?

Oh yeah you can If you play solely as certain killers. But when you are Demo and you put your all into it and have a great game going and you are on rotten fields and they get to one gen and you apply that PRESSURE and they search a chest and pull a key its over

  • I also think the games RNG is bugged to give survivors a key every match from a chest with or without plunderers as i have found keys almost every time i searched a chest.

  • @CarlosGarcia said:

I'm seeing them every second or third game at least, and they are almost always looted midgame. Most escapes I've had against me recently have been from teams that stop doing gens entirely after one or two of them die, just to go and loot a key and escape that way. Feels like there really is no way to win against a half decent team once a key is in the game; it isnt possible to defend the gens, take chases, and defend a hatch that spawns randomly in the map (especially if you never even see the key that they looted). Honestly getting tired of playing games just for half of the survivors to ditch their objectives and hatch out with no counterplay.

Yep Im also beginning to lose interest in the game itself and it mostly because of how many keys are being played. I'm to the point where im going to take a PERM break and be done. Just waiting for RE village to come out

Its literally discouraging. Your stressing against this 4 stack who doesn't have to do much except hold w press E and hold M1 you create this great game and put an item that literally gives free escapes its completely ridiculous

Most Resident Evil fans, which I have been since it came out 25 years ago, will have a hard time with the game. Playing against a Tyrant, Nemesis, or others monsters is one thing but against some of the toxic players on DBD is something totally different. They will either be okay with it or simply not play. It will be the DBD community who will benefit the most from the added characters.

I honestly don't think they will even pick up on the toxicity in the beginning. They will need to learn the game and its mechanics before realizing they are getting bullied in a sense. When i first started playing this game i didnt care nor do i still care about winning. Toxicity is hard to come by now a days with chat filter and all that.

Just had that happen to me last match. It was going to be an easy 4k. Became a 1k in an instant.

And it not like you force the 3 gen right? They just mindlessly pop gens to have hatch appear because there arent any consequences. They have a key so no need to worry

  • @Dragonshensi said:

I’ve seen it as both killer and survivor. First chest I came to in a match gave me a key. Last match as killer they found a key in a chest and all three remaining just left. I really despise keys.

Its just annoying to have pressure toward the end of the match and to have an item just veto anything you built up

Would love to know, gonna maybe gather some data from this :) Please Specify which killer out of the 3 you have chosen thanks :)

EDIT: If you haven't done already, please specify which killer you have chosen, otherwise I wont know :)

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/27YFOOGC4OIV/image.png

So far this is the chart I have managed to make with the data we have.

    Trapper - 3

    Wraith - 0

    Nurse - 1

    Huntress - 0

    Michael - 2

    Hag - 4

    Doctor - 1

    Leather face - 5

    Freddy Krueger - 3

    Pig - 1

    Clown - 1

    Spirit - 1

    Legion - 2

    Plague - 1

    Ghost face - 1

    Demogorgon - 0

    Oni - 0

    Death slinger - 5

    Pyramid Head - 1

    Blight - 0

    Twins - 4

As a "Killer main" (I do play survivor as well but mostly killer) It surprised me that 3 people chose trapper, considering you have the power over whether he gets to use his power or not, but that's just me xd.

    DeathSlinger, Freddy, Nurse.

  • @TruffleTurtle said:

I don't really see many Twin players but after some of their recent changes i've seen some exsited on the forums. And nobody from my knowledge who streams or does youtube mains them either so I turn my attention here. What perks or add ons do you thing are great on the twins. Here are some that work for me

    Addons

    1) Tiny Fingernail- makes releasing victor take 0.5 sec. Its nice for getting victor out quickly and keeping up momentum

    2) Drop of Perfume- Makes people in victors shriek oblivious. This helps well to confuse people on where you are coming from. Basically give the element of surprise if they go into an area victor is guarding or just happens to be at.

    3) Silencing Cloth- Makes you Undetected for 12 seconds (20 if the buff goes through) when returning to Charlotte. Favorite add on on them and wish at most 3 seconds of it was basekit. Makes people have to watch their surrounding and people don't expect it. Also punishs people for being near charlotte when dormat.

    Perks

Nurses calling- A great perk to help keep track of people who are trying to heal. Its important to try and keep people injured so victor can easily down them .

Coulrophobia- Helps the twins with their biggest issue. By the time you get to a down survivor usually, they will be back up due to somebody else healing them. This usually stop that to where they fail to get up with survivors underestimating the the debuff or they will be very close and easy to down again

I am not a main but i do enjoy using bamboozle sloppy bbq and pop. with either black hood and toy sword or victors very rare movement speed add on with toy sword. GOTTA have the toy sword!!

I agree Killer is easier than previous years. Yet we still have a queue problem and lots of Killer apathy.

    Thoughts?

Killer is still TOUGH you literally need to be on your A game ALL of the time. And unfortunately you get teams of four consistently and it is near impossible to win or even catch someone with lower tier killers. So when you pick a stronger killer survivors just either DC or kill themselves first hook. So its a lose lose. you play a killer that can handle a full team and boom dcs. you play a killer of lower tier and you get bullied. So i can assume people dont enjoy that. I play killer ALOT i mean ALOT i choose this because it takes more effort than survivor does. Even with the recent state of the game survivor is SUPER lax compared to killer and rightfully so. Some people just cant do it.....

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/240376/point-with-premonition-challenge

Still doesn't work. Either it's bugged, or you have to be pointing at the EXACT angle and direction the killer is in with zero leeway. Either way, it needs fixed.

So the way i got it is i used object with it and then when it went off i ran into the terror radius pointed and did it a second time and crouched. Not gonna lie everytime premonition went off i did it to make sure i got it .

Both perks are honestly fine. Delierance while a strong perk will unlikely see much increase in usage because it's a perk that can do absolutely nothing if you got hooked before unhooking another survivor.

We've gone totally off track here LUL

Why is there a mechanic that basically does the job for the killer? I remember when this did not exist and killers were forced to hunt survivors and actually put in effort to finish the game.

I have been noticing a pattern for a long time that no matter what you do the killer always and I mean every single game will hook the 3rd survivor and immediately go straight to the hatch, close it and watch the gates for an ez win. Isn’t games supposed to be challenging? There is literally nothing as a survivor you can do to win in this situation at all. There is no hope when a killer sits on 3 gens and then wins by closing the hatch every time in this situation. It is not fair.

Before this mechanic was added, killers had tension in either watching the hatch or not. As survivor at least you had an opportunity to escape by either doing the last gen or finding the hatch if the killer didn’t know where it was at. There was actually hope in trying to escape. Now there is not any at all and it really baffles me how this is not discussed more.

I have an idea to fix this grossly imbalanced mechanic and add a little hope and make the killer not have an ez win for free. Why is kicking a hatch closed actually locking it? This is the major flaw in its design. It should be closed but NOT locked! The survivor can still open the hatch but instead of it being immediately opened as it does so with the key, the survivor has a 3 second struggle to open it. This way the killer is not getting an ez win by watching the gates and the survivor can open the hatch and get out if he leaves it.

if you are so worried about it get better and get gens done. If three survivors are dead with 1 gen left you obviously doing effectively complete your objective.

What would people think about letting survivors break walls? Now, this would mean them sprinting at it, it would give a loud sound notification and reveal the aura for 5 second....AND cost them one health state.

Means they can open some walls on the meat plant, but puts them in danger and damaged, could be interesting in the meat plant against a fast nurse!

Thoughts? It might not work, but figure the meat plant has to many walls, so this might clear a few.

Plus, I'd love to see a Nea charge the wall on MacMillain on the second floor then fall down (especially if she was already damaged, so falling from the second floor would put her the dying state....ahh...I would lol)

If it made them broken for 60 seconds instead of revealin the aura would be worth as a killer main

  • Killler gameplay isnt to easy to come by. Most of the dbd streams or YTs ive seen are mostly survivor. obviously beside Tru3 Otz Tofu and a couple more. I enjoy the killer side ALOT more. You have more to lose as killer where as survivors and make mistakes left and right and still survive. A killer makes a mistake its 100% of the teams mistakes where as a survivor makes a mistake and its only 25% of the teams mistakes. So I enjoy watching the side that takes more attention and planning. This is simply my opinion and how i feel as i play both sides and that is what i see as a ambi player.

  • I will lyk when it finds me a match. 50 minutes no killer match.
