Yes I have I curved at loops and was able to down successfully and I used double engravings and I never overheated when I played.

I honestly don't know what to say then.

Curving short loops successfully is near impossible, ill give you that. Mindgaming via fake rev however, is incredibly easy. I stated in my original post that its still very much a thing. And yes, ive tried double engravings. Its not good. You are missing the point though. Ive stated multiple times in this discussion that using engravings is harder than it was before. Thats fine. You can still curve without them. They made some curves easier. Thats fair. But they are not nor have they ever been needed.

I didn't mean fake revving, but anyways I'm just gonna say that Billy is no longer the skill-based killer he used to be, but he is now just a mobility-based killer who can instadown survivors in close proximity similar to old Bubba with the occasional instadown across the map. He lost most of his loved qualities.

Billy is still a viable killer, but he's not the same. Was Overheat really necessary? You can argue that it prevents facecamping with the chainsaw, but Billies who did that were only making it more difficult for themselves.

if you overheat then something must be wrong cause I played so many games as reworked Billy and I never overheated once and I didn’t use addons

Do you curve in loops? Do you mindgame with the chainsaw in loops? Have you ever used double engravings on Billy after the rework?

  • I mean the community ain't wrong, Billy is a lot more difficult to have fun with. If you want high-skilled plays you're gonna have to get Overheated at least once per game and it's ridiculous. Imagine you're about to get a perfect curve in a loop and then out of nowhere your chainsaw deactivates for like 10 seconds. It's ridiculous.

All Billy needed was an addon rework. His new addons are pretty well-designed and the new instasaw requires effort to get downs with, so if they remove the Overheat mechanic and rework the addons relating to the Overheat feature then I'd be more than happy.

In short, the Overheat mechanic discourages Billy players from going for skill-based plays.

  • Hmm, I consider myself to be both. I run meta perks when I play killer (Pop, BBQ, Corrupt, Tinkerer, and STBFL are examples of meta perks I usually run), but I play to have fun. However, my goal as a killer remains. My goal is to get at least a 3k without anyone escaping through the exit gate.

For survivor I always run Dead Hard and most of the time BT. For the other two slots, I usually run one other meta perk (Adrenaline maybe, but I don't usually run that) and one underrated perk, or two underrated perks. For example I run Second Wind, Autodidact, and sometimes I replace BT with Bond. I'm not the best at survivor so DH is a perk that will give me a second chance during a chase so I'm able to have fun.

  • Someone'll probably go for the rescue anyways. I run Bond sometimes so that perk helps me know if someone is going for the save or not.

  • Lober?!

  • If multiple survivors get downed in one use of the chainsaw then that's their fault.

  • One of my favorite perks in the game. If Mindbreaker still had 3 seconds of exhaustion, it'd still be a good perk.

I wonder if it's going to be the new meta, like how Pop wasn't used that much when Clown released, then when it got that 60 second buff (ik pop got nerfed a few months ago) it became one of the big meta perks.

  • Tbh I don't mind if the j-flick gets patched, been playing him since November without the tech and enjoyed him a lot despite his awful POV and collision. I'm a pretty casual player so I'm definitely biased but if Blight becomes meta like Spirit we'll see how it goes.

I've tried the j-flick for a little while and it's definitely difficult to pull off and takes a LOT of skill, even with maximum DPI it's a lot harder than it looks. Definitely takes lots of practice.

No offense to those who main Spirit ofc, but Spirit and her mindgame power doesn't take as much skill as learning Blight on his own and the j-flick on its own. I can get at least one j-flick per game but it usually doesn't hit the survivors cause I'm pretty bad at mindgaming with the flick tech.

Edit: Incase you guys are wondering, I use 10k DPI and a Logitech G502. Will try maximizing it this time

  • I prefer looks over stealth. Plus I'm horrible at playing stealthy anyways so meh.

  • I never realized how helpful MYC was for the achievement. Thanks for the replies lads, might try the hook strat.

That is not true, killers always complained about balanced landing on Haddonfield. So it was hardly average on most maps but it still got nerfed hard.

You sure they weren't complaining about Haddonfield? One of the problems with Haddonfield is that it can be abused for ridiculous infinite loops with Balanced Landing, and even without BL it's ridiculous.

  • @Sluzzy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2005806#Comment_2005806

Why not? Look at balanced landing. It wasn't all that great most of the time, it happened to be a little better on one certain map, killers moaned and about it and the devs took care of it promptly. This kind of balancing should apply to BBQ too if they should be consistent. Too OP on fast killers. Tinkerer is also too strong.

Gonna take the bait and say that no one has ever complained about Balanced Landing

  • @Azxx93 said:

    Dont do gens

Not only does this counter Tinkerer, but it also counters NOED, Bitter Murmur, Coup de Grace, Cruel Limits, and the most OP super-duper meta perk of all...

  • Gonna have to say Plague. I love the concept of an infection-based killer, but it's such a pain in the arse to enjoy playing against her. Plague is also my answer because there's plenty of fellas who enjoy playing against her.

The issue with Mindbreaker is that it requires the gen to be over 50%, if you do not use gen regression builds then it's not useful in lategame.

Actually, you don't need the gen to be under 50% anymore. Mindbreaker got buffed in the last mid-chapter patch so it activates when someone repairs a generator at any time, and it also increased the tier 3 exhaustion status to 5 seconds.

    @AChaoticKiller said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2004285#Comment_2004285

Yeah im running this on nearly all my stealth killers, just knowing that if they don't leave that gen when your close enough they can't use anything to get away is really good especially if they are injured.

You also get survivors who forget about the perk and don't try to not run for 5 seconds which ends in you downing them, even if they do they still lose distance from not running unless they fully got it back by walking as you mindgame.

The only thing this perk is meh against is sprint burst but honestly more people run dead hard and lithe at higher ranks than it at least from my experience.

I should probs try Mindbreaker on GF lol

  • Plot twist: The Huntress DDoS'd you :O

    Jk lol

Hope you're having a good midnight (or morning) though!

  • Honestly if we get Jason for the 5th anniversary, I wouldn't be surprised. It'd make everyone happy as well. Jason is like one of the most iconic slashers so...

    Wait...

    5th anniversary...

    5 slasher icons...

4th anniversary had a Pyramid shape...

4/5 are in, Myers, Freddy, Leatherface, and Ghostface, right?

    5th anniversary.

  • Spine Chill might work. Oh and if you hear the killer's terror radius moving closer and then suddenly it disappears out of nowhere that's probably Tinkerer.

  • My best guess is:

    • Coldwind and Haddonfield for the next mid-chapter patch
    • Swamp and Red Forest in the 5th anniversary chapter along with a new map for the big license chapter if that happens OR the two realms get their update in the mid-chapter coming out after the 5th anniversary patch.

I'm guessing Haddonfield for the next mid-chapter because of how requested it was and the devs might as well prioritize on that map. It's gonna be one of the harder ones to update/rework, and Swamp and Red Forest will be a bit easier.

Oh and Lery's might need a little update as well so we'll see

  • Mindbreaker is an underrated killer perk that got a buff not too long ago. It forces survivors to walk for 5 seconds in the middle of a chase just for their precious exhaustion perks to come back. The perk can potentially become meta.

  • Remember, you can play how you want. Who cares what others think?

  • Surge is an amazing perk, I have a list of killers that are really good with Surge:

    • Trapper
    • Wraith
    • Nurse
    • Myers
    • Hag
    • Doc
    • Freddy
    • Pig
    • Clown
    • Spirit
    • Legion (Best user of Surge IMO)
    • GF
    • Slinger

For any other killer you'd probably be using PGTW or Ruin. Surge is amazing with PGTW on any of the killers listed (except Hag).

  • I've asked myself "wait, why can only survivors see the hook states?" until I realized how easy it'd be for the killer to get kills if they were able to see who was on their struggle phase and whatnot.

  • I agree with this whole list but Lauries ain't that toxic IMO

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I'd put Blight in S, Clown in C and Pig in D (not sure why you thought Pig is harder than Bubba). I'd personally put Huntress in B just because I find her way easier to play than Slinger.

Idk I feel like Pig has a harder anti loop ability to use than Bubba. Her anti loop potential is also pretty bad .

    I kinda like this one.

  • @Yamaoka said:

How is Deathslinger or Huntress more difficult to master than Pyramid Head?

Personally I think there isn't even a single person who has mastered Pyramid Head. Not even Otz.

Idk maybe I'm just a weirdo but yeah I agree

  • Huh. I guess Slinger kinda makes sense, it's just me and my bad aim probs lol.

Solid list then. My only differences of opinion is Oni and Billy should by reversed, Trapper should be A because you have to learn to accurately predict survivor behavior. And wraith is weird... I feel like he should be like mid C tier just because timing is so subtle and punishing for him.

    Just opinions. Great list!

    Ty!

Anyways I must say I feel honored to be a Blight main now lol

  • @voorheesgt said:

Is this ONLY based on how hard they are to master, or how effective they are when mastered as well?

Only hard to master, not effectiveness.

    Goddammit.

This stupid forum just deleted everything I just typed!!!

    Heres the short version.

    1. its supposed to make the game harder if you find the game too easy.
    2. Take protection hits for teammates that are tunnelled. The killer can’t ignore you on the ground if they don’t want you reviving. This can save a team mates life.
    3. No blood means easily sneak away from an unhook.
    4. No Mither is the ONLY exception where in the dying state you should ALWAYS attempt to crawl away first. If a killer realises their mistake and returns for you, no blood and reduced grunting means you’re harder to find. Crawl, hide, THEN recover.

Oh thank god I thought I was the only one who kept getting bummed by the forum lol.

  • Ehh I think Empathy is fine. The idea you have is more of a stronger version of Blood Pact and a situational Aftercare.

  • It's a heavily unbalanced perk. You can recover at any time so it's like an infinite Unbreakable at the cost of being injured all game. But don't worry, with Self Care you can heal yourself! If you choose to stay injured all game you are 50% quieter. It's Unbreakable and Iron Will in one perk. Most OP perk in the game.

  • Yo this is kinda cool tho ngl, I don't really like running Iron Will so I'd love this!

  • This ain't gonna be easy.

    Survivors:

    1. Dwight
    2. Meg
    3. Claudette
    4. Laurie
    5. Ace
    6. David
    7. Jeff
    8. Adam
    9. Zarina
    10. Cheryl

    Killers:

    1. Trapper
    2. Wraith
    3. Hillbilly
    4. Myers
    5. Huntress
    6. Bubba
    7. Pig
    8. Clown
    9. Demogorgon
    10. Blight
  • How DARE you say that about Ace D:

    Survivors

    1. Nea
    2. Quentin
    3. Jake
    4. Nancy
    5. Ash

    KILLERS

    1. Twins
    2. Hag
    3. Plague
    4. Doc
    5. Legion
  • Corrupt, Pop, Thrilling Tremors (Surge is an alternative) and STBFL is my favorite build for Trapper.

  • Here is my take on this:

    my-image.png

Hag is the bane of my existence.

Doc, Trapper, Twins, and Slinger aren't unbalanced, in fact they're pretty balanced except Trapper who leans on the weaker end, but they are really, REALLY unpredictable.

Spirit is a hard killer to play against due to her unpredictability. If she runs Stridor you're definitely screwed. Plague is kinda like the Legion except you can't heal yourself at all unless you cleanse, but if you don't cleanse at the right time you're screwed as well. Snare Freddy is a bit annoying IMO, the ability to teleport to gens any time and screw up loops is ridiculous, but he can be fun if he's running fake pallets instead. PH is also unpredictable like Spirit but he does require a good amount of skill and a big enough brain.

Clown, haven't really played against his rework, I didn't find him fun before his rework but he looks a bit fun to play against if he uses his antidotes so he's neutral. Legion is also neutral because they're not a hard killer to loop, but it can be annoying to mend after they hit you. Huntress would be lower but her truck-sized hitboxes are a pain in the bum. Bubba is a challenge to go against, a challenge to loop pallets, good Bubbas are very smart and have my respect. Oni, haven't gone against him that much, but he certainly requires skill. If a Pig plays without tunneling the RBT'd survivor (no offense if you do that) then she can be pretty fun.

Nurse is highly skill-based and there's no denying that. If she were easy she'd be an easy S tier. Ghostface is my favorite killer to go against, which is probably surprising, but I just love playing against him. No clue how to explain why.

Blight, another skill-based killer, fun to play against. Myers is fun to play against. Billy is a skill-based killer, fun to play against. Wraith is fun to play against. Demogorgon is fun to play against. The F tier fellas have nothing to hate about IMO, minus Myers being weak.

  • No you're right, keys are 100% unbalanced and I have no clue why people are defending keys. They're bringing out a major key rework sometime, maybe in the next chapter hopefully. I think the hatch is fine, you don't need to get a 4k all the time, a 3k's a win to me unless the last survivor got out through the exit gates.

  • @REL1_C said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2000983#Comment_2000983

I do agree and the times will be messed with. The idea is giving the survivor a powerful perk while the killer is in control of how the survivor uses it. At the risk of there hex totems. It's a buff to hex's until it's a massive nerf.

It's... not powerful at all. You can use Detective's Hunch and be able to track and cleanse all totems around the map while your team does gens. You're basically making the game require you to do about 9 gens without holding m1 on the first two. Ruin is most efficient in the early-game but it usually gets cleansed in less than two minutes unless you're lucky, so if they end up running Ruin they have 300 seconds to not even worry about it being cleansed. Even with Undying (not the old one) I've found ways to play around it.

This is more of a reward to the killer than it is a reward to the survivors. It's basically playing against a survivor with No Mither.

  • As long as you have fun playing as him :D

  • I don't like this idea, it's clear that it encourages its user to not help their teammates work on gens. That also gives the killer 300 seconds of not needing generators to pop, giving them 300 seconds to get a good amount of hooks. It's basically a guarantee win for the killer if they aren't dumb.

I know this sounds weird but I feel like Autodidact is the already-existing survivor counterpart to Devour Hope. It's either gonna work well or not work at all. Both require 5 tokens for maximum efficiency, and both are incredibly situational.

  • Whoa, thanks everyone for the replies :O I learned a lot from all of your thoughts!

Hey! If you want tips I can give you some, first I really recommend watching otzs quick killer guide on ph and learning from that otherwise inbox me for tips because this message will be too long, and just asking, are you maining him or just like playing

Thanks, and no worries! I don't wanna stress you out. To answer your question I'm not necessarily maining him (I considered him as one of my mains for a little while until I decided to play different killers) but I am playing him often. Otz's PH guide was pretty damn good btw.
