Is Mindbreaker any good?

I know it was buffed at some point to always give Exhaustion when working on a gen and give 5 seconds of Exhaustion instead of 3 seconds (I assume that the Exhaustion it inflicts works like regular Exhaustion where it doesn't regress as long as a Survivor is running). I've heard nothing about it since it was buffed, though. Is there actually merit to using it to put a pin on a surprise Exhaustion perk, or is 5 seconds of Exhaustion still too trivial for the perk to see use?

  • It is decent at best, it only works when a generator is below halfway so it's meh. I think it should build-up exhaustion under halfway and always pause exhaustion after halfway.

If you want to get better use out of it, try playing huntress with the venomous concoction addon.

  • Mindbreaker makes Exhausation paused while working on gen so if survivors want their exhaustion perk back they have to stop working on gens.

The two main uses would be to combo with Blood Echo to exhaust survivors and force them into a choice of doing gens or doing nothing for 45 seconds. Or run it on a stealth killer like wraith who doesn't like survivors just sprint bursting away when he gets close.

It got buffed a few patches back. The less than 50% thing got removed and the duration got buffed to 3/4/5.

Like mentioned, it's mostly good on stealth or high mobility killers who can immediately jump on a survivor on a gen.

That was removed and it gives exhaustion no matter the percentage.

For OP, I mainly use it on the twins. The biggest downside is survivors waiting out their exhaustion and sprint bursting mid-chase.

  • Stealth and high mobility killers get the most value out of the perk

    so if you play

    Wraith, Pig, Myers, Ghostface, Deathslinger

    or

Blight, Billy, Nurse, Spirit, Oni, Freddy (kinda)

Its a good - ok perk, but there are usually always better options it just depends on your playstyle what you pair it with or if you are just using variety for variety sake

overall on the other 14 killers its not that good but on those 9 it can be a decent option for build fun and variety

  • You can get use out of it.

It's no where as good as many other perks however.

  • It’s a much better perk than is given credit for. I often pair it with Blood Echo. Against a team running more than 1 exhaustion perk, Mindbreaker can actually start to stall the game.

The value in Mindbreaker is how it pauses existing exhaustion timers. Survivors with exhaustion won’t worry about that the first time they see their 40ish seconds not recovering, but once they start getting hit or going down BECAUSE they couldn’t use their exhaustion perk, the rate at which gens pop starts to seriously slow down, and my only logical guess is because they start wasting time waiting for their exhaustion to recover before touching gens again.

  • I like it but I mainly play stealth killers. It's nice when your surprise attack isn't immediately negated by Sprint Burst.

  • Plague and Legion make good use of it by pairing it with Blood Echo and Monitor & Abuse, or a stealth perk like Dark Devotion, Trail of Torment. Bottom line is that for the right killers, It can be very good with the right build to compliment it.

  • Mindbreaker's viability scales with how good survivors are

Your average survivor will just Dead Hard into a wall or Sprint Burst in circles, but against competent players who are always on gens it can be pretty useful. Only problem is you need better perks to compete with those types of people in the first place.

  • Rarely efficient unless your running a jump scare build and survivors are simi oblivious.

  • One of my favorite perks in the game. If Mindbreaker still had 3 seconds of exhaustion, it'd still be a good perk.

I wonder if it's going to be the new meta, like how Pop wasn't used that much when Clown released, then when it got that 60 second buff (ik pop got nerfed a few months ago) it became one of the big meta perks.

  • Could work well on certain killers like spirit and potentially freddy (with the right addons). Wraith could also work well with it
