Seems like a connection or system issue on your end. I'm not a techy guy, but if I was having even 2 or 3 crashes pretty close together I'd be looking into my system whether there is or isn't a DC penalty in a game
-
The map is also pretty awful for killer at least.
Everything is pretty but not functionally great

Very wellcome perk. Easy target. Next?
Man I really think no mither should give BP bonuses to your teammates since it does typically puts them in a bad spot
-
Depends on what metric you use.
How the game scores with emblems, generally speaking it's a loss
If you are basing it on number hooks it also depends
I do think the game should score as if it's a tie with a 2k but the game is designed that way to reward you as if it's a tie unfortunately

Defending hooks. Camping them.
Yes and no. I'm not saying just hang out and facecamp a survivor but if the entire team is swarming a hook there isn't much reason to leave the area, although now you night as well since the survivor will either unhook themselves or you hit a survivor and a second survivor takes the follow up hit so all of them get out without a hook trade

Anything that is a variant of chase. That seems to be what is being is being encouraged and desired if you go by the changes made to the game. If you go by what the most vocal folks are saying then it ranges from only standard looping chase to "lol killers should just stand there".
It would be great if more playstyles were directly supported and experimented with directly.
Yeah I know that is the aim with then limiting other playstyles but I wish there was more that directly complimented that playstyle while also still allowing other playstyles (even if they are much less effective it would be nice if they were viable).

In what way is gen defence no longer viable? There haven't been any nerfs to legitimate gen-defending perks since 6.1.0, to my recollection, they've only tackled the obviously overpowered/unhealthy stuff that needed to be changed. You can very much defend your generators, you just have to put a little effort in.
As for hook defence, I'm not sure how that's a playstyle? All they're aiming at so far has been people standing by the hook and not moving, which is the opposite of a playstyle, you aren't playing the game if you're just standing in one spot and not doing anything. Patrolling routes near hooks hasn't changed, intercepting survivors you see going for a save hasn't changed, downing a survivor that goes for a risky save is only changing insofar as you don't get to down them and keep the person on the hook... there's either been no changes, or the changes are aimed at pushing killers not to facecamp.
I'm also curious about your examples listed- why would killers need to be able to track and chase better without using perks? Those perks exist and they're good, they'll give you plenty of value. If you want to play for tracking, bring tracking tools. If you want to play for chase, bring chase tools. If you want to play for stealth, or misdirection, or anti-heal, bring those tools. They exist and not all of them even need to be buffed. Part of the issue here is that people seem to think killer's basekit is inadequate, and that they need a bunch of slowdown so they can tunnel out one survivor or they're helpless, and that just isn't true. You've got a lot of viable stuff to use, so experiment!
The only thing I can agree with is that hexes could use a little love to make them a bit more viable, but I would hesitate to call that enabling a single playstyle. Hexes do different things and support different playstyles depending on their effects.
For the examples piece I wasn't saying those specifically need to be added in, but it is a shame that killers haven't gotten anything basekit additions while survivors have also gotten several basekit additions (Deliverance, BT, and some expect unbreakable to be basekit although I doubt unbreakable). There are some killer perks that would be totally fine basekit (corrupt intervention for example) but all of this is kinda outside the scope of my original post.
For gen defence, it's not just that gen defemce perks have been nerfed but several gen perks for survivors have received buffs since then.
As for hooks I disagree. At this point it seems pointless to even be near a hook. If you are near it the survivor can unhook themselves and/or another survivor can unhook the survivor without a grab. The fact that you can't realistically defend a hook when 3 survivors are standing near the hooked Survivor makes defending hooks pointless. I agree facecamping is a problem but now there isn't much reason to be come back to a hook, even if the entire team is by it.
I'm not even arguing for the game to be easier for killer or anything like that. I think you fan still get 4ks as is, but it's becoming a game where you have to play the same strategy or two in order to accomplish much of anything. I feel like in the past there was a lot more evariety in playstyles but now it's mostly just do the same general things with every killer.
-
Perk sounds fun but balancing 4 perks is already impossible it seems. 5th would never be balanced unfortunately but I do like the idea of it

Why are you sceptical? I can't even remember the last time I was grabbed off hook. It's always the hook dance as you fake an unhook, take a hit, unhook, then go down for a hook trade. Nothing about this change prevents that. You can still get two hits on the incoming survivor.
I'm skeptical that the timing window will allow two hits, especially when coordinated teams can take several hits with the recently hit one phasing out and someone moving into them to absorb another hit.
This also doesn't account for hit detection around hook often being jank. I've had several hits hit the hooked Survivor despite there being a survivor I swung at right between us.
-
Tbh, David has one of the better skin selections imo. I'd rather give skins to characters that are both used more/have a weaker selection.
-
I see mostly survivor buffs and niche perk buffs for killer (although net nerfs across several killers).
This also doesn't include hook hrab removal which is a clear nerf to killers

According to saiph it’s easy tho otzdarva does it why can’t u 🤡
Oh I'm not even arguing about getting wins or not. I don't care about that. I do get bothered about having a miserable experience whether i win or lose
-
I'm very skeptical this will make hook trades possible. I like the idea of hook grabs not being a thing but I don't like the idea of hooks being impossible to defend (not saying that's what it will be but it's a real possibility)
-
I was originally a killer main starting all the way back to Halloween chapter but then started playing both sides about even, but the last month I dropped killwr completely. It's just a miserable experience now which is a real shame. It's not even about getting 4ks or 0ks, but the match just isn't fun feeling like you are getting kicked in the teeth the entire match whether you win or lose. I just want to have fun as killer but I just don't see that happening again unfortunately.
-
For survivor, to have a game where people are actually trying to do the objective and save people
For killer, I don't want to a game where I have nearly every one of my actions gets countered. Not saying it's impossible to win as killer but pretty much every game is just a miserable experience now even with getting 4ks. I just want killer to be fun again (and that cam be games you get 0Ks)
-
I've played for several years but I just was never able to participate in the anniversary events coincidentally

I’ve played solo queue and yet to see any one quit at 4-5 gens. I think I’ve seen one person DC in like 15 games of solo queue over the last two days and that was with two gens left. I didn’t see anyone give up on hook in those games. I just don’t believe people are DCing and unhook failing as much as people here claim.
Last night i played only 3 games of killer
Each had survivors DC at 4 or 5 gens.
1st game had 2
2nd had 2
Last had 3 DC (who were obviously swf)
I was also playing killers I don't use often and I wasn't camping either.
-
I'd be into basekit corrupt for hexes. Having a hex cleansed nefore you can even get to the hex (going straight to it from spawn) is pretty obnoxious.
As far as basekit corrupt for gens, I'd be into it but maybe a weaker version

If they had Jaws Captwin Quint would need to be the survivor. I think a survivor only chapter like that would work well.
For Evil Dead od love evil ash as the killer and the graveyard be the map

I haven't thought of the specifics but it has to be something that makes it worth leaving the hook over camping.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3443785#Comment_3443785
WInning is fun. Also, I rarely camp for long unless the survivors are hovering around the hook. It's usually just a short camp to secure the next hook stage, so it isn't boring.
Winning isn't really what makes a game fun for me at least. Some of the most fun games I've had were ones I lost while some of the most miserable games were a 4k. For me, I care more about the actual experience during the game and not th3 end result.
-
BNP is problematic. It really needs to get knocked down pretty hard (and yes there are killer addons that should be addressed like myers tombstone pieces). Both sides have some busted stuff (although survivor is less character specific obliviously).
Syringe never bothered me much. Remove the unique interaction with freddy though

You mean like killer add ons or perks that let you down someone immediately?
A better equivalent would be a killer perk or addon that let's you kill a survivor in the first 5 seconds of the game (which thankfully no longer exists).

Most players don’t think that. Killer mains on the DBD forum say it.
Ehh I disagree. I don't think it's fair to say only Killer mains feel this way.
Personally, I think they are fast only because of how killers don't have much in terms of gen defence.
Not even going into all of the gen buffing perks, BNP alone is problematic. The fact that a team can get an entire gen done instantly is problematic even if it doesnt happen consistently
-
It is baffling to me that most players seem to think gens are going by too quickly and so they release a perk that does have potential to further the problem...
-
It should replace one of his iri addons. His add ons are trash. Having it be one of his iris would be fine
-
Certainly possible.
I primarily play board games and most of them are asymmetrical with being very well balanced.

If you bring any item into a match you have to be aware you may lose it. Even with a white ward you can lose it if they bring Franklin's.
Sounds like she should have just brought a regular flashlight.
Yeah, and if someone really wants their item back, immediately sandbagging your team doesn't make me want to give you back your item.

if this was one of those "am i the blank" reddit posts, the answer is yes you're the "blank" in this scenario. You caused all the issues, had you just returned the flashlight you could've made a friend out of it.
Eh I disagree. I definitely didn't cause all the issues (such as them dropping the item in the first place as well as them actively trying to get their teammates killed). I definitely could have returned the flashlight but before I was given much time to understand their spamming gestures they were actively trying to get me killed.

I think she was the first to have been rude, and at this point a little pettiness was deserved.
I always go in a trial expecting to lose my item. If she doesn't want to lose her anniversary items, then she shouldn't take them into games.
Yeah this is about where I land on it. I go into a trial fully expecting I'm going to lose my item. If I don't want to lose the item. I don't bring it.
The other layer is if someone is actively trying to get you killed (along with several teammates) then that player doesn't deserve any kindness in return (and even this person I saved them twice despite them being rude).
-
@Beatricks said:
It was definitely rude to take such a rare item, but the Meg definitely went too far. Still, letting her bleed out was probably not warranted. Understandable, but a bit too much.
Yeah, I get that. I honestly would have given it back if she didn't spend 10 minutes straight trying to get me killed though. She did try to get me to walk into bear traps by blocking my path. It's a bit of a mixed situation where I get being upset losing an item that's rare, but don't actively try to kill your team over it

Is it surprising? This is a currency that can buy mostly the same things you buy with Auric Cells. Giving out Iri Shards means making less money.
Yeah im not that terribly surprised, but even if they added a 0 on the end it would be minimal impact. 1000 shards is basically nothing still honestly. If they gave out 1000 every other month (not that they would) you still couldn't get part of a decent outfit by the end of the year. Plus, they give out the currency for free the more you play anyways
-
@brokedownpalace said:
Woooahhh did I read that right? One HUNDRED iridescent shards? Bhvr is gonna put themselves out of business being that generous
They really are way too conservative on giving these out lol

Rainbowrift
10 rift fragments
-
I do think there should be some changes to the game to further encourage alternative gameplay (mostly aside from the camping change anyways). Make gen defence more meaningful/interesting again pleassssseee
-
Generally for me, i don't bother playing against them. I either leave the match or go afk. If I'm playing 4 player swf bully squad there are plenty of games I do stil lend up getting the 4k...but even wins just aren't worth the time and frustration. I don't want easy games and I'm totally fine getting 0k sometimes, but to have everything you do getting denied over and over just isn't fun. Wins against a team designed to make your game experience miserable aren't enjoyable to engage in to me
-
If they fixed the broken maps first I'd be into new maps at least
-
I do totally agree it's heavily flawed for survivors but I'd say it's a bit worse for killer. Having someone DC really screws you over as a killer unfortunately. Both should be addressed though
-
If anything, id be okay if they removed the addons just to make them basekit
-
I'm okay with it after the have bots in the game for a while and iron out a good balance for them. Make sure the bits aren't total idiots but aren't 100% accurate etc. If they can make the bots perform comparable to average players I'm for it
-
All of the perks being the last survivor remaining should have requirements to be active (such as completely 2 gens, get 2 unhooks, etc). At least they would require you to not abandon your team immediately
-
I agree those should be addressed but you have to also give the killers something else they can utilize. Gen defense is garbage now. I'm all for those changes, but killers do need something
-

Why the hell have those codes already expired?? It's only been a couple days and the 7th anniversary hasn't even officially kicked off but the 7th anniversary codes have expired. How does this make sense?

It's miserable to play against on console. Boil Over is always active, there's no counter to it except slugging. It's bad perk design and should be completely reworked.
Yeah its pretty obnoxious on console. I can't believe it's stayed busted on console for so long
-
It's a perk where it's counter play isnt fun for either side. Survivors getting slugged over and over isn't really a win for either side
-
Felt more connected to his lore while his new powers don't really feel like freddy at all
-
Survivor
Largely due to SWF negating killer perks/powers as well as significantly buffing survivor perks as well.
I do also find it funny that many players have been saying that gens are going too fast and the new survivor has a perk that is also very pro gen rushing. Just goofy
-
The other day someone got a flashlight save off me while I on top of a tractor, facing a wall and they were on the ground behind the wall (far away though).
Totally fair. Right?
