What people really want nerfed is good survivors. They don't like being outplayed by strong teams that can't be easily facecamped or tunneled. Some people seem like they just want to cruise to victory without any real opposition. Objectively survivor has been heavily nerfed compared to a year ago.
- Circle of Healing nerfed
- Dead Hard nerfed
- Iron Will nerfed
- Decisive Strike nerfed
- Spine Chill/Resilience vault build nerfed
- Medkits nerfed
- Speed Boost on hit nerfed
- Gens increased by 10 seconds
I really don't understand what people want them to nerf when practically everything has already been nerfed. The only thing that hasn't been nerfed is toolboxes at this point. I heard for years about how dead hard was the reason everyone was losing. It's gone and people are still complaining. Complaints are so silly now that there are people whining about windows of opportunity of all things.
Although those nerfs do exist, killers have been neefed pretty heavily too (and will be soon getting more nerfs as well). I'm also not just including this last year since I've only come back in the last couple months
-nearly every gen regression perk nerfed (call of Brine, hex ruin, pop goes the Weasle, pain resonance, eruption to name a few)
-camping nerfed (more so soon)
-borrowed time base kit for survivors
There are obviously other big changes, but I think on the whole killers have gotten more heavy nerfs since entire methods of playing (Gen kicking, camping, etc) are getting done away with while survivors is mostly having single perks nerfed that don't prevent a method of playing being viable.
And to be clear, I'm not saying some of the changes shouldn't have happened but losing an entire method of playing is much more frustrating than a single perk getting kicked down.
-
I typically don't have much fun against swf. This isn't just swf teams i can't beat either. It just feels like you are kicked in the face over and over most of the time that even wins against most swf teams just aren't that satisfying
-
For me, I just kinda stopped having much fun against SWFs. Even games I get a 4k aren't that fun against SWF players. I don't want to stomp on a team but I want to have a game that feels fun and I just don't find that to be the case in SWF
-
On paper, the executioners change sounds nice
-
I just Googled ptb 7.0.
For some reason I can't post the link:/
-
Agreed. I'd rather them take a break from new content for 3-6 months just to fix the game.

That's a problem with the point system, not the idea of a team game. I personally think they need to look at bloodpoint gains as a whole for survivors and a few killers. Survivors who are camped on hook should get bonus BPs for "distracting" the killer that is significant enough that they get around 20k points just like the rest of their team.
I agree, plus I think both sided should get more BP for players DCing. You can get really screwed either side when this happens

Why do you think that despite the fact that I'm discussing things and considering others opinions?
Most of your discussion ends up being to others
1. "Your opinion is wrong or ignorant"
2. "I need answers for very specific circumstances that never happen (Like people not using helpful perks or items) otherwise points presented are irrelevant."
3. "Because survivors aren't guaranteed unlimited protection before, after and during an unhook the game is busted"
You are right bubba is OP. He's S tier. That's why he's always #1 in tier lists
-
Seems like you desire mostly an echo chamber to have people agree with you and don't actually want to discuss things or consider others opinions
-
1. Definitely counterable. I've done this against bubba personally.
2. Let's say you can't guarantee a safe unhook, you can let the killer have the kill or you can trade hooks.
3. Camping etc is getting addressed this year apparently so most of your con ends might be irrelevant anyways.
-
I'd bet money one of the chapters this year will be from Until Dawn given supermassive (makers of until dawn) are making another game with DBD

Buffing or Nerfing things does not mean that there should be any compensation or penalty or that the other side HAS to receive the same treatment.
I agree it shouldn't generally be the case that they get a buff to areas if some are nerfed, but it is true that things like gen defense are very weak nowadays. This doesn't change the gen rushing meta
-
I agree that the camping goods etc should get a nerf...but I hope they also buff other killer activities (either chase, gen defense, scouting, etc) . If it's just a nerf and killers aren't given anything I'd be super disappointed
-
I do think the partnership with the makers of until dawn does seem to indicate until dawn will get added in.
-
Goro and motauro would be sweet
-
Yes
-
Yeah I hope that
1. The bar stops when survivors are nearby or when killer isn't around
2. Killers get notified that the bar is filling.
3. The range be reduced. 16 meters feels pretty far reaching (especially including maps like The Game where you could be below them unable to protect a hook but they get it anyways).
3. There is a time limit on when you can use the bar. It will get super old for both sides for the killer to be gone but the survivor unhooks afterwards. Neither side really wins in this
-

I liked everything about the steam including the presentation.
I was disappointed to not hear anything about killers being reworked or their addons.
Can only hope…
Yeah that was disappointing. I'm sure changes like they will come but I'd rather hear about it than 70% of what was covered (bots and camping were great though)
-
So it sounds like the bar fills up at a pretty generous distance and will fill up even if survivors are nearby (granted at reduced rates). I don't think it should fill if survivors are nearby and I worry that the killer could simply be wandering nearby and unknowingly fill the bar:/
-
Wait, the meter fills up even if survivors are nearby? Alright that I really dislike, even if it's a slower rate. I'd also hope killers would be notified that the bar is filling up (not necessarily the exact level) just because I also don't like the idea of a survivor still being able to unhook themselves if the killer is checking in a nearby area unaware that there are or are not survivors nearby.
-
I like the general idea of it but I'm skeptical the implementation of it will be good
-
Do people care about charms much, honestly?
And this isn't intended to be snarky just to be clear.
-
Man I don't think more DBD games is a good thing...does make me think this game is slowly down
-
Although I doubt it's coming, I'd love to be able to watch random live games (all names hidden). Sometimes it's fun to just watch DBD when you can't commit to a game

Item search bar in the loadout menu. Searchbar can search for name or words in the description, so searching "generator" will show all perks that mention generators
That sounds nice. Hopefully they spend time passing over perks in part to have more similar language as needed
-
I get more confused when people throw the game before you even find them (intentionally getting downed etc).
I know it's likely because of not wanting a particular killer and there are some killers I don't want to play against...but too bad. Just play the game. No reason to ruin the game because you have an enemy you don't care for

I disagree, as survivor i often use last man standing builds, however i do indeed play for the team. However, if you have people dcing and suiciding every second match, you start to plan for that.
Personally, I'll play to the bitter end. I don't plan on bailing on my team no matter what. Will I die more? Yeah, but I find it better than people usually bailing left and right. I'd rather someone take most other perks over the last person standing perks because I think it gets people too willing to ditch the team.
For example, yesterday I played a game and one player got hooked early and no one even tried to save them nor worked on a gen. I tried to unhook them before they hit 2nd stage and I got downed. Nea (a 3rd survivor) and Dwight (4th survivor) were left. Nea went into a locker on the other side of the map and Dwight tried to save and got downed. Nea stayed in the locker until the 3 of us died. They were running one of the last man standing perks and got out. They messaged us saying it was pointless to try. This is why I really hate those perks and wish they had a requirement such as at least complete a gen before they can be used.

Any survivor that has Self Care as their only healing perk.
Or even better, self care and no mither
-
For survivor, I find them to be evil only towards your teammates
-no mither builds 99% of the time are just a liability for your team
-builds with being the last survivor standing often indicates you have no interest in working with your team

Did you get BP for opening the gate and chase?
Maybe he was trying to let you farm a little?
Also, finishing 5 gens isn't what most people would call getting "destroyed".
We didn't finish the gens. We got 2 gens done.
He closed the hatch to allow me to open the gate to leave (or so I thought )

Then why make this thread at all? He literally gave you a legitimate reason for it. Yes he -could- have let you go free after but he doesn't need to.
More us vs them.
He didn't give a legitimate reason to actively be toxic though. Why not just let someone go if you are letting them appear to be free multiple times and dont need to dunk on them for a challenge?

maybe he had an archive for the murder after opening the gate?
He did say he had an archive to chase someone for so long and needed a handful of seconds. Didn't need to kill me

@HoodedWildKard said:
Nah i get it. Either kill a surv or let them go. Killers that just deliberately string it out and make you think they'll let you go then just take it back at the last second are real toxic.
Yeah these kind of players are the most toxic in my book

Neither :/ I want it back to 100% but keep the exhaustion thing

Woah how is Gary Busey not on here. He would 100% get my vote first

The question is who is going to be the first P100 Nicolas Cage?
Nic cage himself
-
Perk ideas referencing Cage works
"Not the Bees!"
-survivor presses a button and screams and provides his aura to the killer. Killer loses all aura reading abilities for 20 seconds
"Take his face... off"
-survivor injures himself and is given deep wounds but leaves no pools of blood and has no grunts of pain until mended.
"I'm a vampire!"
- (sprint burst but triggers after healing a survivor to full health)
I kinda hope they reference some of his movies in his perks
-
I imagine every single player would like this feature
-
@Mooks said:
I think it’s more likely that this is going to be a survivor only content update, so not a full chapter.
so yeah, hopefully it will be the character from the movie!
Yeah I think it's more probable to be just a survivor, but it would be a great option to appeal to the FNAF crowd and non FNAF crowd as a full chapter. I really hope it's a full chapter though
-
I wonder if it's a willys wonderland chapter honestly. It would appeal to cage fans and FNAF fans as well. The setting does look like willys wonderland
-
Does this indicate of a Willys wonderland chapter? The setting seems very similar to willys wonderland. Maybe the stand in for FNAF?
-
If the unhooked survivor lost collision for a bit after unhook I'd be more for it being removed.
-
I'd be into replacing them with something less dependent on latency but functionally stays the same with keeping unhooking survivors extra vulnerable. It punished people for making dumb grabs but I don't like how latency and the weird mind game plays out
-
Yeah I don't care too much one way or another as long as it's good. I suppose I don't want it to be chucky, FNAF, or Jeepers creepers because I don't care for the licenses at all but I wouldn't hate them either. As long as the chapter is fun I'm happy
-
I think it's not a speific thing to DBD. Tbh, i hate that you can't engage with non playstation players and most playstation people have messaging turned off. I'd love to have chat across all platforms
-
Survivor has gotten a bit boring for me
Killer is fun other than against swf teams. Still winable but when it becomes blatantly clear their are using coms it gets frustrating. Even a win doesn't feel enjoyable against these teams for me

That wouldn't make the game that much healthier considering that is how the game originally launched.
It did not launch with the ability to play with friends, that was added later when people kept asking for it. The game is only somewhat more "balanced", but from previous experience the biggest issues back when we didn't have SWF were issues related to players generally not feeling like playing as a team was necessary. Solo Q issues won't be solved by making the game go back to perpetual solo q as that implies that the game is balanced around SWF which it isn't, at least not in anyway that soloq doesn't benefit from.
From the killer perspective it would feel more balanced for a while until everyone just relearned/learned to use the old methods of communication that exist in the game. DBD players at one time were actually developing the necessary communication skills to functionally coordinate, but I think that has mostly died out now. Yet, if people got back into doing that, after a while people who can coordinate will still be just as strong as before. So in the long run it wouldn't help killers more than say substantive QoL improvements made to killers who aren't good.
Yeah I remember old DBD and I think there qere definitely Means to communicate (such as pointing etc) but the commutation then still doesn't compare to say "hey the killer is right by me, has Pentimento and sloppy butcher just so you all know". It just isn't the same. The fact is that survivors can gain far more info now and even gain info faster than you could previously. It renders several perks useless and many others much less useful
