Might as well delete skull merchant and nurse if they implemented this

I can’t think of a single game out there that doesn’t allow players to play with friends. And even if DBD tried doing that, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo do allow friends to queue up together & DBD cannot circumvent this. They tried it with the anonymous mode and got into trouble with those companies b/c DBD settings cannot overwrite console settings.
The only issue is that the game isn't designed around having open communication (perks not designed for this nor is their an in game chat functuon). There aren't any other big 1vsmany games out there so it is tough to compare but comparing something like cod, overwatch, etc with even teams is not the same. DBD would need to change a lot of fundamentals of the game to make communication fair but that won't happen. Effects like blindess serve no use in swf among other issues

It's impossible to nerf SWF to be as bad as solo. SWF main advantage is you can bring a team without any bad players. That means high gen efficiency, no easy tunnels, everyone using strong perks, no one throwing for archive challenges.
I'd say the biggest strength of SWF is knowledge. It negates several killwr perks and it nerfs most killer perks since they have shared knowledge of killer perks, killer items, and killer perks

Oh don't get me wrong I agree I don't think trapper doesn't need to be buffed just bc nurse exists lol, but you could say the same thing about perks for both sides and items yk
Lol good. And yeah you are right. I think the fact that SWF exists skews it towards survivors and makes balancing for both sides impossible

That's perfectly fine and understandable (How I feel about Jason/Pinhead matter of fact) but that does not change the fact they are legends and belong in the hall of fame (DBD).
I suppose so. Chucky just doesn't feel nearly as iconic as the others (I'd put the likes of freddy, myers, Pinhead, Jason, Ghostface, lewthface all way ahead at least). I'm not opposed to him being around but I'd be fine not having him

Well u said the best setups for both sides, for killer that means nurse blight or spirit. Also the data I'm talking about is their own from matches in customs that took place very recently, not the data bhvrs put out there
I'd want to know how this tests out with the 27(ish) other killers. Just because 10% of the killers can be around 60% doesn't mean the other 90% of killers aren't worth considering.
Nurse is busted and no one is arguing against that.
Blight same thing
Spirit is a little more debatable but is more often agreed to be busted as well
-
Killer it depends.
If it's against SWF eith full coms, generally 5% of the time even with getting a 4k. Generally against survivors maybe like 70% of games are fun
Survivor it depends
Typically I'd say about 40% of the time. I find it boring typically. I mostly play solo queue and never have coms in swf. I find that solo queue I often end up being the player who does gens and unhooks but then get left behind by the people I saved and did gens for so that's frustrating

How to cause the death of a game: step 1
The game would be healthier without it honestly. Balancing would be better for both sides.
Now I don't expect it to happen because it's already in the game and people will quit because they can't play with their friends which is somewhat understandable.

just curious, what would u say to the video i put above? pretty clearly shows both sides absolutely sweating their balls off with the absolute best resources and resulted in a 60% kill rate
I'd say those numbers aren't representative of most killers. Using nurse, blight, and spirit isn't a good representation of the standard experience of killers. The data used is also several years old so I don't find that information to be that helpful . I think the game is survivor sided but not so much so that killers should just give up etc.

if the survivors have hyperfocus they can make 3 generators in the first 45 seconds of the match
i.e. survivors can finish 60% of their work in the first minute
If the killer is in a shift w chase, with no pallets and no windows, then it will take the killer 30 seconds to knock down the survivor + - 10 seconds to hang on the hook and animation
Thus
survivors can do 60% of their work in 45 seconds, and a killer in good conditions for him can only do 1/12 of his work
Agreed. Just because games don't typically play out this way doesn't mean it can't happen. I think if you went all out best setups for both sides (swf too) survivors win much more often than killer does
-
Man I never understood what people like about Chucky. I love horror films (watched all of the other big named horror series)and then I did child's play series and most of it just wasn't scary and I didn't find chucky interesting. I want to like him more than i do. He's the one big horror name I just can't get into
-
The easiest and best solution (granted not popular) is to remove swf entirely. That would help provide better balance for both sides but thqt will never happen because people want to play with their friends, which makes sense, but there isn't a way to keep swf without throwing off the balance of the whole game

disagree
3v1 is a total waste of time, any time spent on that match is just time spent preventing me from getting into queue for match that isn't a waste of time
Eh I'd rather have a less than ideal match than have a string of games where people bail left and right. I think this would make DCing much more obnoxious
-
DCs yes (and the remaining survivors should get a buff to their scores too)
Bleedout shouldn't count as hooks though
-
Yes Trapper is weak
And my magic eight ball says "no" to him ever getting a buff, but I think that's the case for most of the older killers anyways

The biggest issue lies for killer without a mobility ability that is always on.
Even ranged killers struggle due to the amount of cover and distance to cover (projectiles being painfully easy to dodge at a distance)
Any killer that is stuck at base speed at any point of the match is currently doomed to lose.
I predicted that with the current map size, the CoB-Overcharged combo was the last way left to apply good enough gen pressure on the survivors.
It was so true that even a nerf to DH-CoH didn't suffice to stop the maddness that is BNP+Prove thyself.
I agree with you pal. Killers needs to be baselined way better against one another.
I'd also say that some killers, even if their base speeds were matched, just couldn't function on some maps. Take someone like hillbilly and he will do poorly on a map like the game but he will do very well on autohaven. I'd like a killer to be playable on any given map.

The majority of killers, including me, don't find 3v1 fun, it's a guaranteed win, a waste of time that has the danger of turning into a stealth fest. Why should the Killer along with the other 3 survivors be punished for the actions of one person?
And to touch on the triple kobi, it is only used in suicide attempts or when the game is already over, so I don't see what the problem is there.
3v1 isn't as fun as 4v1, but having an entire lobby disband immediately and having to queue up again is even less fun.
-
If they removed map offerings I'd expect several killers to get major changes to them. Theyre are some maps particular killers just can't play on. If they could make each killer perform about the same on any map (such as pig being able to play all maps just as well as each other map) then I'd be for it.
-
I disagree with almost every part of this
1. DCing also significantly impacts the killer (arguably moreso than survivor).
2. Penalties should always exist regardless of the circumstances
3. Trippling kobi-ing shouldn't be penalized
4. I agree DC penalities should be longer (start at 5 minutes)
5. If you DC you should not be rewarded at all. If you DC you ruined the game for several other people. Just play the game
-
I've been waitng for myers and Trapper to be buffed for ages....
And I'm curious about what the anniversary chapter will be. I hope we hear something soon

Would be nice if they made the outfits start out clean and become dirty/bloody as the match progresses when being injured, running, performing rushed actions, etc.
They actually tested such a system years ago and then abandoned it with no explanation..
Similar to this, I wish you could get bloody variants if all of your other cosmetics via prestige like you do for your base skin
-
Granted I think exhaustion perks are overused (not that they are OP) but this isn't the way to do it. I'd rather change some game fundamentals to make these feel less necessary to survivors.
-
I'm doubtful we will see any of those skins come to the main game
-
I think DCs in general should score the same as if you got all of the remaining hooks for that particular survivor. It's good that the DCing survivor gets a penalty but the killer doesn't get any real reward for this. I've had survivor downed for the first time DC immediately and the hatch spawns 2 feet away from the remaining survivor who isn't downed and no offering for hatch spawn is given. Super frustrating going from a potential double pip to barely a safety pip. Killers do indirectly get penalized by players DCing with their score/pip getting impacted significantly. Survivors should also get better compensated for a teammate dcing too. It's also frustrating playing survivor and a teammate DCs almost immediately so the game feels pointless
-
Anyone else remember when one of the devs played some public matches after an interview and got insta blinded like...14 times (honestly close to that number). A couple days later insta blind flashlights were gone
Good times.
-
I'd like boiled over to be changed. It's way more of an issue as a console player and I think it naturally encourages playing in ways that upset both survivors and killers (survivor you ate getting slugged while killer you often have to slug people). It's a perk I think both sides lose on most of the time
-
Killer
Awakened awareness, mad grit, agitation, and iron grasp especially on a weird killer option like nurse. It makes it fun and people like interacting with it
Survivor
Red herring, Deception, diversion, and head on as a killer time waster build
-
I never really got why they didn't add an actual chapter for left 4 dead. I'd love it

Defend the hook… so you camp then.
Not all instances of defending a hook means you are a camper. If i hook a survivor right by the exit and the gates are open I'm naturally going to stick around rather than wander off into the middle of the map. Same also goes for if the entire team is crowded by hook.
-
What did I just read?
-
1. Provide gamechat across all platforms where you can communicate to one another
(And 2 more)
2. Give the ability to see end game scores, emblems, etc of other players
3. Provide easier way to access costumes on sale on console at least since not all of the on sale costumes are in a place you can look at all of them
-
Old BT back when prior to basekit BT was a free escape during EGC, but this is no longer the case. From a time standpoint you really ought to be able to hit them again generally speaking if needed or you could hook the survivor far enough that the basekit BT fades as well.
Now I do think there are issued with it. I like the intention of basekot BT being to discourage tunneling, but I do not like how it's often used as a free protection hit for a friend who unhooks them. I do think the unhooked person should lose Collison during that time

By any metric that the game provides you've won.
By design DBD is a game where both sides can "win" on a statistically level, but on a e-peen chest puffing emotional hype level is almost meaningless. Outside total stomp situations where on side absolutely dumpsters the other there isn't a way to tell. It's the kinda weirdness one expects in a 1v4 game where the game gives out 5 different scores instead of just one for each side.
Yeah I know I won by all metrics, although i just wish it was more clear to the opposing side as well. I'd love to see emblems etc for other players in a match

Well...here's the thing. I'm using a weight loss betting app that if i meet my goal I get $500 (and yes it's legit). My goal was to lose 30 pounds from Jan-end of June and I still have like 5 pounds to go ...

If only they made a map of Ji-Woon Hak's studio or stage. That would be the indoor map. For each generator a survivor completes it adds to the lights (for the stage) or opens places like the game (for the studio). They make the exit gate switches play music but its very faint. Still would be a nice addition.
It's such a shame they never gave him a map. Did they ever say why?

Hawkins…
Beyond that, they have to expand on Léry’s as a realm. It’s the oldest single-map realm.
Also, Hellshire Penitentiary from Slinger’s lore would be a great addition to the Grave of Glenvale realm. With that, we’d have a realm that features both an outdoor and an indoor map.
Lerys does feel like it has a lot of potential to be expanded.
Also, I'd love to have an all kill map that is a large sound studio

don't play sadako. play nurse, spirit, wesker, or blight. problem solved.
Being told to play just 4 of the 30+ killers is not a solution and if you genuinely think it's not an issue for only 12% of the killers that should be a red flag
-
I'm a fan of indoor maps. I'd love to have one that was not very wide but was several floors. It's weird to me that we t we haven't had a map somewhat like this already
-
Tbh, I don't think it should be the case that a gen gets done before a killer can possibly walk to you from the start (assuming the are actively heading directly to you). Yes, corrupt intervention exists but that's a bandaid fix for a design flaw imo.
-
If you took these away from cages no one would use the cages anymore. Yes cages would still be faster than hooking but you also lose out on the ability to defend a hook and gain no benefits besides slightly faster hooks. Super not worth teleporting someone on the other end to save 10 seconds and get nothing else from it
-
I agree with Pulsars points that SM is super problematic, although us going back and forth defining what is and isn't fact won't result in a meaningful discussion. We can all agree that the large majority of people aren't a fan of her given her most organic playstyle right now.
