Blight's power is absurdly difficult to use for new players. Trying to fish for nerfs by claiming he's some kind of 'pick and play, easy-peasy super killer' is both disingenuous and embarrassing.

I'm by no means trying to fish for nerfs or anything like that. I was genuinely curious if it was normal to pick him up and do pretty well in the first few games

Well done! I played only one match with him and I already hate him. Same goes for Oni (just can't turn while he is dashing).

Thanks! Oh yeah oni I tried when he released and I didn't do well. I do think I'm much better than I was years ago so I might give him a shot again.

It did make me feel good that one of the survivors didn't believe me it was my 3rd game as blight. That felt reallll nice

  • I don't feel the need to analyze every single piece but some brief thoughts

    1. Myers is too high sadly. Without add ons he awful and even with addons he would be lower. I'd likely tale Trapper over myers of both didn't have addons.

    2. Skull merchant too high. She's good but not comparably good to the top 10 killers. I think the high kill rate is largely due to people not wanting to deal with her and most new killers start high after release since people are learning how to beat them still

    3. Clown, pig, sadako seem too high to me while bubba, Ghostface, and doctor are too low

  • As an aside, I never really got the point of flashlight using at pallets. I've rarely lost people as a result of a flashlight usage at a pallet. I often feel like I'd prefer survivors to use a flashlight at a pallet than not

Kinda, but I'm saying this if we can see post game if we played against a full SFW or a SoloQ team

Yeah, but a this point you can generally tell anyways if it's swf or not. And if you can't tell most people assume anyways as the killer one way or the other

Ah, ok. I got some random 100k and thought servers were down or something..

Yeah that was a thing but I don't think they said why really for the 100k.

The actual event was basically just have people play the game and enough survivors collectively got hooked or saved by the community everyone got it (or something like that). So as long as people played the game you'd get it

  • Changes I'd like to exit gates

    1. Lengthen gate opening time

    2. Gates slowly lose progress if you stop opening them to prevent 99%

    3. Gates spawn at farthest possible distance from one another.

  • @MrSlayer said:

    Huh, there was an event?:|

It wasn't much of an event to be fair. You get like 500k BP, 500 iri shards, and 5 shards for the tome.

I know that some perks stacks with Killer powers but it doesn't mean that without them he is worse. Taking perks that will fill his gaps may be an option too. Or just random perk build which will help in other areas. It is like having killer with certain stats (4dmg, 2speed, 1gen control) and having 5 more points to give. You may want to praise his uniqueness by make him 9dmg, 2speed, 1gen control. Nothing wrong with that. But giving points closer to balanced stats (4dmg, 4speed, 4gen control) may lead to better results when you are difficult to counter.

What do you mean by giving more emotions to killers? Unbound them from one certain playstyle?

    Sorry I had a typo.

Yes I was indicat8ng that some killers just aren't designed to be able to have different playstyles. For example, if you take Trapper and remove all slow down he is just going to lose against players who aren't potatoes. This idea can't work if killers are limited in the playstyles that can explore

Yknow, Im not super familiar with the grudge/ring movies. What actually is the difference between The Grudge and Sadako?

The grudge is honestly pretty similar although it was more related to having a vengeful spirit that haunts a home (the plot evolves some between movies). There is also a ghost boy who is a part of the curse. Other people can also inherit the curse to become vengeful spirits.

Sadako is more about having a cursed video tape and you die in 7 days.

On the surface the two are pretty similar but I personally like the grudge a lot more. The powers between are fairly similar while the grudge often moves more with unnatural twitches and crawling with limbs moving in unnatural positions and Sadako does more phasing and quickly moving forward for the most part.

That'd be pretty cool! Alien's my primary guess though, been a lot of buzz about it lately.

I've seen some buzz about the grudge as well as FNAF. I'd prefer alien or grudge for sure though

So you say that killer using same perks over and over again seems like bad perk design or lack of perks. But you like the idea.

Again, not what I'm saying. I'd be more for the idea if certain killers were buffed and some others were given more variety in playstyles.

For example, if I was playing doctor and most of the terror radius related perks got banned it would be pretty miserable since his whole deal is dependent upon his terror radius. Yes he could still win but he isn't made in a way that he can be effective outside of terror radius related builds

So you are saying that perks are inbalanced? And you like my idea but you want balance it first.

No I'm not saying perks are inbalanced. I'm saying some killers are either too weak or designed in a way they aren't very viable if certain perks are banned.

  • @ReverseVelocity said:

The emblem system is quite annoying and needs some attention. It's an absolute pain to rank up as Survivor and certain killers.

The emblem, scoring, and piping system should all be more in line with each other. I hate it when I get max score in categories but still depip lol

  • I feel like it's pretty balanced nowadays honestly but some of the gens should be more spread out. Now I do think the map is less interesting looking than old haddonfield

  • I don't mind depiping as a whole but I hate getting sandbagged by a teammate that causes me to deploy. On the flip side, I've had players DC that made what should have been a borderline double pip into depiping....super frustrating as both sides though. Getting iri 1 isn't too bad for either side even in solo queue

I can't be bothered to get into specifics atm cuz I'm lazy sry lol but I agree w what u saying I just mean like hard tunneling when a surv is trying to avoid it and camping just to secure stages or wtv idk basically just the stuff most ppl would agree is nasty ykyk¿

Yeah I get that and I agree those are problematic

  • I typically get called a tunneler if I go back to a spot someone was unhooked and I find the unhooked survivor self caring right by where i unhooked them (like under the hook or behind a rock right by the hook). Instances like that I have no sympathy for since you actively didn't try to be safe and made a bad decision. Other times when I come back I have the unhooked survivor either intentionally or unintentionally running into me when im hunting for other survivors so I naturally hit them. If these are both "tunneling" then it's 100% the survivors fault.

For camping, if I hook someone and see the entire team (or most of the team) around the person I just hooked and they aren't trying to lure me away then that's also 100% on the survivor. Trying to loop me around the hook is just a bad idea and I'm sorry I don't just look at a wall and give a free unhook.

I know most people agree these are fine, but terms like "tunneling" and "camping" get thrown around a bit too much without analyzing the specific situations.

  • I'm generally against the idea of automatically folding as soon as you see a particular map or killer you are going against. Most nurses I encounter are hot trash. Maps also rarely play a significant factor unless I'm playing as a killer on a map that just doesn't work remotely for my particular killer (such as scratched mirror myers in an open field map).

Heck, you might even have fun

  • @1ettuce said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3423484#Comment_3423484

Maybe but I worry a survivor would still use it to body block purposefully, which would suck. I had thought maybe you straight up can't hit a survivor but idk that's a BIT cray

Yeah its complicated. As it stands I don't think it's in a good place. I'm all for not allowing a killer to tunnel but it shouldn't be used in a way that prevents killers from hitting fair targets

  • @jayz666 said:

But 3 seconds with the 2 second animation doesn’t work and really Dstrike with five seconds isn’t gonna hurt the killer that much and if it does then that’s their problem really if you tunnel and you eat a DS you can’t sit and cry about it if you play in higher mmr survivor you would know current Dstrike does nothing like when killers complained about dead hard I doubt a single killer main would be able to go into a survivor game and get good use out of dead hard it’s one of them where killers think the role of survivor is easier when it’s just as hard maybe not in a swf but solo is more stressful than playing killer coming from someone who plays both

I agree that it's not a very strong perk, but I don't think it ought to be because before it was used on every single survivor and there were situations where you didn't tunnel a survivor but they still got DS. You would just be forced to slug survivors and it just wasn't fun for either side. High mmr survivor is not stressful. You sometimes have to accept your team will sandbag you unfortunately

  • @1ettuce said:

Something I worry about with this is if the survivor is right inside the killer, will the killer just immediately hit them the moment they tap m1? I agree with the intention 100000% tho

Yeah there is a possibility of this. I'd maybe throw in a basekit slightly weaker sprint burst to the unhooked survivor so they can actually get away

  • Well, I think again the issue is that gen defence isn't that viable nowadays which means just about every other strategy is also thrown out the window besides trying to eliminate a player fairly quickly. The "easier" solutions to this just aren't popular with doing one of any of the following

    1. Buff gen defense perks/base gen defense (survivors will complain and some killers even)

    2. Extend gen times either directly or nerf survivor gen related perks/items. This would also be boring for survivors

    3. Lengthen the time to open the exit gates. This wouldn't be much different than extended gen times with it still not being fun

    4. Survivors get 1 less opportunity to be hooked. This would go very poorly to survivors.

    5. Buff killer chase potential. Killers have a good chance to still use to tunnel.

None of these are good options but they are quick and easy ones. I dont see any of them happening ( for good reason for most). Killers need to have a reason to leave that isn't just because they get punished for hanging around a hook.

I don't really think camping should be straight up removed just bc that just doesn't make much sense. I just think it shouldn't be as effective as it currently is/can be, for example with bubba or stbfl or deadlock etc.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3423435#Comment_3423435

I'm fine with that but it should always have counterplay, but with again bubba as an example, it just doesn't

Yeah bubba is obnoxious and I don't think anyone would really argue against that. I don't think I have had many hardcore campers in some time though, including bubbas. STBFL and deadlock are fine to me (well..maybe deadlock could be tweaked) but you and I have already disagreed on those in the past so no need to dive into those again. I don't think camping is really all that effective but that's because I don't consider a game a good unless I get a 3k and it's prior to all gens being completed. Some killers consider even a 1k a victory which is lame and I just don't see the fun in standing by a hook the entire game

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/375071/should-there-be-changes-to-built-in-bt

I absolutely agree. It's incredibly annoying and its literally begging the killer to tunnel you when you wanted to play nicely and go for the savior.

Yeah its complicated. This also doesn't factor in hit boxes being wonky around a hook sometimes where you swear you hit the unhooker but you hit the hooked Survivor before they can have a health state so it's functionally a miss

  • I think I'd like the idea of having it so that you can turn Insidious on like you did before but you get like 5 seconds of movement while still staying undetectable

  • If any changes were to be implemented I'd day maybe move it to 5 second stun but even that doesn't seem needed to me. People used DS in ways it wasn't intended before (mostly as a weapon against the killer rather than a defensive option to prevent tunneling). Thing seeing used in ways not for their original purpose is why nerfs like DS needed to happen. I honestly think the built in BT is also not good because the unhooked person bodyblocks the unhooker when really its designed to be an option to prevent the unhooked person from being tunneled. I'd like that to be changed up a bit to discourage it being qeaponized against the killer and more encourage protection from tunneling like its intended

  • @Rovend said:

To be fair, midwich allows several killers to have op builds that wouldnt work in any other map.

    Impossible skill checks Doctor build

    Bouncing blades trickster

Skull merchant droning like 75% of the map

    Agi-star Wesker

Man I wish tricksters bouncing knives were base kit:/

  • I kinda wish slugging got adjusted slightly to have more interesting gameplay for both sides with it. As far as balance goes its okay to me but it's not that interesting for me in either case

I will say I do use it if it's clear I'm going against a 4 man swf party who is ultra altruistic and sabo hook focused. You kinda have to in those situations honestly.

  • This would be miserable. If you queue in with a killer and particular perks are not allowed you can be pretty SOL if certain perks are banned depending on a killer.

Making killers less able to defend hooks and more able to defend gens is the way IMO, I'm not saying I agree w this exact idea but to say that camping should straight up be a viable strategy...I wish we'd just get real sometimes

Well there lies the issue where there isn't much remaining for gen defense that's very beneficial or even interesting as the killer. If these got buffed I could see more variability in playstyle. I don't love the idea of dictating that players can't play a particular playstlye as a whole. I don't think nerfing a playstyle as a whole is the way to encourage change but maybe making other playstyle more appealing in a positive way is the way to go.

same, i don't actually mind Nurses (at worst the game will be short), but trying your hardest to loop her while your teammates are hiding in a corner far away from any gens is a bit sad

Yeah those can be pretty frustrating... in the lerys game I had seen they were a twitch person and I said on their twitch "hey we could have won if you did gens qt the end" and they immediately said they did gens at the end (ignoring the fact I can see they gen progress lol) and banned me. Just admit you sandbagged me

  • Most people here want the game to have more fun playstyles for both sides, but simply making killers unable to defend hooks is not the way. Yes it would be more fun for survivors but it would be absolutely miserable for killers.

You are projecting a lot in this 1ettuce. I recommend not assuming everyone is a lazy killer just because they think having hooks essentially teleport right away is a bad idea.

  • I like to try personally. I typically have a worse time do to teammates being too scared. I had a game of lerys not too long ago against a nurse with 3 players left with 1 gen left. One died shortly afterward and I kept running Nurse and got two gens at about 80% done while the last survivor hid in a locker. I eventually got caught and died on first hook.

I get far more upset about teammates who don't even bother to help, especially towards the end of a game

  • Yeah borgo was pretty terrible. I was actively trying to bump into so many things and it just wouldn't work:/

  • If you are so against killers having the possibility of defending hooks, enforce that rule on yourself and play killer. Hook someone and go on the other side of the map immediately and dont go to the other side of the map until that survivor is unhooked. See how that goes.

    OK thx.

Do you think they will do a new RE1 Remake? I hope they do some of the side titles like UC or integrate them into the main line. I know that UC has a lot of back story on how Wesker escaped the mansion and I would like to play it and not just watch it on YT.

Or will they do a RE5 remake first? Although I heard that seems to be another controversy for a reason I don't get.

    No problem!

I assume they will at some point. Some people don't want it because they love the old re1 remake while others think the mechanics are still pretty dated. I'm a fan of an re1 remake. It does feel tedious at points now.

I think re5 will lasso eventually get remade (and I think this will happen before re1). Re5's controversy is overblown. The short of it is that people claim that re5 taking place in Africa with Chris (a white male) being the primary protagonist promotes racism. This can certaintly be an issue in games but RE5 is not the case. There wasn't much controversy when it was released and I don't think that will be the case nowadays either.

Umbrella chronicles was a blast and I'd love for it to be remade (darkaide chronicles too) to have some short stories to fill in gaps between games better. The Outbreak games I'd love to be remade since I missed out in them. They had some unique enemies (zombie zoo animals for example) and it was 4 player coop but like a typical re game. These really ought to be remade.

  • I'll also add that if killers are unable to defend hooks then survivors would also have to give up something significant to compensate for it (such as one fewer possible hook). You couldn't just change hooks this significantly and expect very many people willing to play killer anymore.

  • This change would make defending hooks no longer possible. I'd honestly see more slugging if this became the case

  • @burt0r said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/375041/does-blight-have-a-a-skill-floor

Well, if you manage to 4k with a M1 killer without any power usage then his "skill floor" is low.

But that's not what individual skill floor for each killer is. Using his dash for more than map traversal is hard earned, from learning turn angles, how to get through tight spaces ..... to what part of each map is buttered. It takes a whole lot of time and nerves to get there.

I never successfully played blight because for me he is the hardest killer to play efficiently with his power.

    Edit: Also, oni4life.

The maps I tried him on were midwich which resulted in a 4k pretty fast and I did use his power a lot getting hits with it.

The other map I played on felt pretty awful. It's the map that I believe released with knight (orange tinge, castle exits, etc) where I'd have so much of the map I couldn't bounce on even with me going headfirst into it as well as some parts I'd be wedged running between two objects. That ap was very frustrating but I did manage to his power a decent bit nonetheless.

  • I'm inclined to think onryo, myers, and wesker are some pretty good options at least

  • Fully agree. Boil over can be oretty unbearable on console (especially when a survivor intentionally gets downed in a dead zone so you won't be able to hook them even if they didn't have boil over)

  • The only ones I see happening are IT and Candy man.

The others I think at most will get generic inspired ideas like wolfman. Some of the others are just not popular enough to be made like pumpkinhead despite it being great

Long story short the creator of Jeepers Creepers is a real life creeper.

And if we are being honest, the first 2 Jeepers creepers are good but not great anyways so u don't see people clamoring for it even without the creators controversy (who I believe no longer has the rights to it anyways which is how another rmovie got made not too long ago)

  • Pretty balanced. He can dish out a lot of damage but doesn't have great ways to capitalize on it which is probably a good thing.

1 2 3 4 5 6 … 41
