Blight was the last killer who loved by most of community. He needs some addons nerfs tho but he is good killer.
After Blight we got terrible killers.
Twins - Slugging is their best strat which hated by community.
Trickster - Strong 1 v 1 , strong camp potential but weak 4 v 1 . He has some simps but he is boring killer in overall.
Artist - Strong killer but i think her problem is people bored with anti-loops killers when she come out. I remember people was asking for different type killers. But lately i am seeing her more. She is still not super popular but better than her first months.
Dredge - This killer did not got hate but i doubt he got so much love either. He has different mechanics which makes him okish.
Knight - This killer actually has potential but BHVR wasted him with boring design. He is strong 3 gen camper and strong hook camper. And that's all we can say about him.
SM - The worst killer ever. I never thought i will hate killer more than Hag & Twins. This killer is boring asf. Her power works amazing for holding 3 gen and that's all she can do. Weak chase, no mobility. Just gen camping.
Yeah blight felt fringe to me. I could see going either way on honestly
-
I do feel like nemesis's whip hitbox is pretty jank. I've had times I've cleared a jump and he whips where i was never at and the hit would still trigger:/
Legion and skull merchant are the most annoying killers to face to me and I don't desire to face them. Legion is naturally annoying but I feel like I get a Legion game every third game I play and that gets extra old
-
BNP does need looked at.
Gen regression being turned back on would be healthier for the game overall. It would make killers less reliant on being more aggressive with kills and more willing to engage with gens. I do hope it becomes more of a thing again

I mean you don't see a problem with that?
"They used their perk well but I caught up fast anyways and downed them."
That doesn't make them balanced it makes them bad perks btw.
Eh not really. I think exhaustion perks as a whole are often used as a crutch and people don't learn to loop effectively without them. A lot of survivors just throw on an exhaustion perk and hope that will save them but they don't take the time to learn the fundamentals. If you can learn the basics before using the exhaustion perks you can better get value out of it (which few people do it that way) since you aren't leaning on it too much. I chalk it up to bad players moreso than bad perks (although I think SB is overrated. Still decent but not as good as people make it out to be). If exhaustion perks essentially guaranteed an escape in chase they would be broken, therefore I think they are largely in a good spot.
-
I couldn't give an exact wight but I think myers, demogorgon, pyramid head, wesker, and nemesis would be the strongest 5. They each have very supernatural strength. Oni could possibly get in there though. The rest I'd say definitely are not as strong physically speaking
-
DCs really mess up a lot... they should be handled differently altogether for either side
-
Hag needs it least out of these.
Myers needs it more than most of these outside of Trapper though
-
I'd say it's fine if you aren't teaming in the sense of having a survivor help you kill their teammates. If you make it clear to them it's to boost it should be okay.

Man killer mains ######### up. Complaining so hard about DH. Now literally every surv is running lithe, SB or balanced landing and it is annoying af.
You know what I liked about DH? You could counter it, SO easily. You can't counter any of these other exhaustion perks and it is driving me up the wall.
Whereas with DH once I figured out who had it, it was the easiest perk in the world to counter. And now I've got uncounterable speed boosts in practically every chase. Love it.
I've never been bothered by lithe, SB, or balanced landing tbh. There are counters in place for them but even if survivors successfully trigger the exhaustion perk then I catch up to them not too long after. Those perks are in a good place.
DH gave essentially a free hit and could guarantee vaults in situations. That is much more powerful than the other exhaustion perks and that's a problem.
I would like other exhaustion perks to get some love since all of the others are trash beside SB, DH, BL, and Lithe
-
Probably a combination of
1. All bad or mediocre perks now
2. Other character being more popular/being released
3. Minimal new costumes for a long time
4. He's sooo loud compared to most survivors

Please be a joke....
As for the topic I move we delete Dredge first. We then can turn our attention to other matters.
What's the beef with dredge just put of curiosity?
I do think there should be a way to end darkness early for survivors. It's a bit overly long

Started to play just after that rework, so if they did it once now they have to do that again.
Yeah we will have to see. I would prefer that version of freddy (granted stronger). His current one is pretty boring.
Skull merchant could be better with some minor tweaks. Her Manual Drone activation should change. Maybe give a delay and a warning to survivors that it's about to start. Give time limit for drones to be in an area. Make drones follow survivors slowly so they don't just sit in a spot (but not so fast survivors can't leave them).

Even forever freddy days where he was an A - S tier killer days were better than the SM situation. people at least tried and it was very possible to beat Freddy in his glory days. you're a pig main like i was before blight so i know how u feel as sometimes being forced to playing M1, but we have no choice and SM can just hold a 3gen from the beginning like knight players used to do a lot lmao.
I'm also talking about way before forever freddy. He had to physically go make people fall asleep, was invisible unless someone was asleep, people couldn't be hurt prior to being asleep. He was a big issue but in a different way. Playing as him was boring and overly difficult. Survivors would often be bored having to spend so much time waking up. Plus there were more ways to wake up easily.
-
They have kinda had "delete a killer" before. Freddy was essentially deleted not long after release since he has pretty much nothing from his prior iteration
-
-Remove myers max stalking on a survivor
- move base tier 3 into Judith tombstone only. only available as the add on
-buff tiers 1 and 2 movement speed and lunge significantly. Myers fluctuates between tier 1 and 2.
-limit instant kill to just last survivor in trial.
-add mirrors to basekit (although gaining stalk only in line of sight)
-change several addons to buff tiers 1 and 2 exclusively.

Only if the killer never goes for me or they just do the hit and run strategy. You can pick an item mid chase without window or pallet nearby.
Yeah don't get me wrong, medkits (and other items) are nice but not that important to keep. Losing a medkit, especially for altruistic healing, is a pretty minimal issue. You shouldn't be focused on picking up an item mid chase anyways. If you are wanting to always have a medkit (or something similar) you could run a whole bunch of perks (CoH, botany knowledge, self care, inner healing, pharmacy, etc). There are tons of options available that you can use. You just need to decide if those are worth occupying a perk slot. Generally I go into a match expecting that I might not get value out of my item. If you become too reliant on your items you will have a bad time
-
I'd rather run prove thyself tbh
-
@Jejune said:

I get that but altruistic healing is with medkits is worthless against it. Which in turn makes medkit nerf even worse since you cant really do whats intended with medkits.
You still can. You can pick it back up
-
I mean....there are counters to nearly everything in the game (a few outliers that are problematic). Killers should be able to have a counter to survivors tools and survivors should have counters to killer tools.
-
This is your evidence of which side is favored?
-
In short, don't play in a way that you'd hate someone doing against you (other than just general winning strategies like looping well etc). If you play killer and hate the idea of being facecamped as a survivor don't do it. If you play survivor and know would hate playing killer against someone exploiting a dead zone in the game, don't do it.
There's a lot more specifics but just play in a way you'd be okay having someone do against you
-
The only medkit change I'd be for would be adding a little more charges for each (with slightly more for each rarity).
The healing speed was way too fast before (not including COH). CoH now allows you to heal in 8 seconds without extra perks. That's too fast imo.
-
I will say, the iri shards reward is a bit low imo.
I'll still take free atuff...but 500 iri shards is nothing lol
-
My overated survivor perks build is
Deliverance- too situational and typically someone I'd available to unhook you anyways
Off the record- mostly good to not get tunneled out but you have mi n images protection and you have built in borrowed time anyways
Unbreakable- it can save you but you have to hope the killer slugs
Deadhard- it can be good but it was used as too much of a crutch by bad survivor players who got worse at the game because of it.
Overrated killer perks
(I'll add later)
-
Honestly he does essentially need a rework.
-keep Judith's tombstone (only way to get tier 3)
-remove tier 3 from base kit
-make mirrors base kit (although direct line of sight allows you level up).
-make myers fluctuate between tier 1 and 2 rather than 2 and 3.
-buff tier 1 slightly
-remove stalking cap
-change just about every add on.
-
I've had it happen several times on either side. It does help using perks that give you extra BP (Like prove thyself).
-
Granted I've only recently started using him but I've been using sloppy butcher, eruption, noed, and play with your food along with the Trapper sack and honing stone addons. These have generally worked pretty well for me at least. I do think eruption and noed are pretty solid options although I could see using something like thrilling tremors rather than play with your food being good.
I've also liked to primarily lock down one big area with my traps (such as eyrie of crows with the big building locking up pretty much every window and doorways there). Try ti shepherd people into that area that is generally a safe place against most killers but the traps can really mess them up

what would happen to totems that collect tokens though?
You don't get tokens until you initially place the hex

@DBDVulture said:
Everything you said is factually correct. Most of the people I play with in a SWF cannot play anywhere near at the same level as killer. So many times I hear people say : why is the killer tunneling?
The reply that floors 100% of people who ask is : when was the last time you played as survivor and got all gens to 33% before ever getting a generator to 66%? Nobody plays like that because it is incredibly inefficient.

-"Yeah 3 gen isn't as bad as people make it out to be tbh"
Skull Merchant and Knight kind of ruined the game in that they were abusive when combined with a 3 gen WITH only slowdown perks. Instead of fixing the problematic killers they killed slowdown for most of the other killers.
Those I'd say are outliers which make the problem worse. I still chalk that up to poor design and I can't be mad at the actual players since it does make sense to utilize that well.
-
Tbh, I've found the exhaustion perks to be a bit of a crutch for myself to do better in chases earlier on when I was lewrn8fn survivor. I would recommend someone learn how to loop pretty well without an exhaustion perk because I think it helps you get better at the game overall. Throw in an exhaustion perk once you can be decent looping killers so you aren't reliant on it if for some reason it's lost (via fearmonger etc)
-
Hexes are very inconsistent (even the "strong ones") due to rng spawn of them and you could lose them before you have a chance to interact with a survivor. Then you get into some hexes that just shouldn't be hexes or some that don't do enough long term to be worth it.
I kinda want them to get a complete overhaul. Something like allowing the killer to place the hex on a dull totem as they run around could be good. If not that, give some early protection to them similar to corrupt intervention. Then several hexes should be looked over to make them worthwhile
-
They are fine. Just boring to me.
-
Seems like they want to mostly adjust the meta via changing very popular Perks rather than unpopular ones

By intoducing killer bans it would force Killers to try new ones. And as I said previously, number of Killer character bans may be less than 4.
But tell me how would you imagine ranked league. This was mine suggestion and I think it is OK if community improves it.
I think everything else I'm cool with outside of killer bans

@DBDVulture said:
Ruin is a dead perk - thanks for playing.
If you want hex totems to be a healthy killer experience then change them as follows:
The killer can re light any unlit totem (other than undying) instantly by clicking on dull bones just like a pentimento interaction.
Survivors can remove hexes forever by removing all the bones.
This is the beginning of making hexes useful.
I'd be into killers being able to see all dull totems and they can go to the dull totem to light the totem. I'd say you should be able to keep relighting the totems though

I don't find it pointless. In your words killers pick only those 3 characters. That is horrificly bad. So banning them would bring other killers to the game.
But also If everybody is afraid of those 3 killers than obviously killers need balance.
Other option is to have "party leader" who would ban only 1 killer. Or limit bans to 2 killers in sum.
It's not just that those killers are considered strong by many, but imagine you as a killer player play primarily 2 or 3 killers and esch get banned (even if it's not those I mentioned). That is a really miserable experience. Banning killers doesnt work
-
@MrMooseyMan said:
I totally agree with you on missing some of the older features and maps. I particularly miss the Hawkins map and can imagine how fun it would be to play the dredge on it. As for the Ruin, I think bringing back the old version where it keeps going until found could make the game more challenging and exciting.
On a side note, I do wish they would make some maps darker and scarier to enhance the atmosphere.
For the second part, that was a thing at one point and just about everyone hated it
-
He's better than people give credit but he's beatable.
1. Looping like previously mentioned can be good. He loses a good bit of speed catching up.
2. Make sure you never get yourself trapped in the map. For example, I played midwich as wraith yesterday and unphased by the gen that is in a corner that caused a survivor to be trapped for a second (and I swung and hit them). You can give him a lot of free hits not thinking about how you could get blocked in places.
3. You could intentionally waste his time. Go far away and fail skill checks, make noise etc while having a good place for you to hide. Wraith will run to where you made noise and waste a lot of time without finding you if you hide well which helps your team do gens well.

I play on console so ghostface looks and feels awkward with the leaning. Myers is a little easier because he just has to stand there and stalks.
Yeah myers does feel a little easier to use on console. Even just Crouching as Ghostface works well since you can get closer more easily. I do like the general feel of myers but Ghostface does seem more efficient
-
I'd love to have Old ruin (either original or the other one) since it's such garbage now.
Hawkins was fun despite being problematic
Old freddy while weak was much more interesting than he is today.
Hillbilly...I tried him last night and the last time I touched him was pre big nerf...what a sad difference for him:/
-
There really should be better incentive to not sandbag a teammate in the end. I go for the saves and such 95% of the time, but you get so little for such a big risk.
Yes, I know there are perks to make it worth it...but the game should actively encourage you to not just let your team die (or even intentionally get them killed via running the killer towards them in hopes of him killing them instead of you)
-
Banning killers would be pointless. Just about every tournament team would ban nurse, blight, spirit, and some random killer (assuming they don't know who they are playing).
Banning 4 killers would be obnoxious and I don't see many killer players being okay with it
-
I'm inclined to think you are probably playing better as killer than survivor which is why you are getting matched with better survivors as a killer than you are playing survivor. So take it as a compliment that you have a good killer.
There are also situations you get matched up with various people of different skill but generally you are meant to be matched up with people of similar skill.
-
I'd also add that comparing multiplayer games to this doesn't work primarily from a balancing standpoint. The other games you have teams sharing equal or close to equal power (same number of players roughly with the same general abilities on each side) while this is a 4v1 game where losing 1 player you lose 25% of your team. The 4v1 design does need to be more strict on DCs partially because it really screws up the game to have a DC while something like COD doesn't (outside of very specific times or if tons of people DC in a game)
-
Yeah the main thing I prefer in myers is his scratched mirror addon but there isn't anything else myers does better (aside from tombstones but that's not that fun)
-
Honestly I don't see why not... it's a fun idea
