I'm glad this game is now slightly less survivor sided, SWFs can actually have good opponent to play with.

The super balanced corrupt pop pr dms with double recharge and midwhich offering, ah yes
Doesn't seems like a nurse problem at all.
-
Boons in general is bad design, even if non-CoH perks are fine none of them are ACTUALLY worth running, and when it's worth running they will be broken.
It's either one of broken or useless, since boons have no restriction it can be balanced.

Even if you never get hooked, you can die because the Sadako player notices you have, let's say, 4 stacks, and just teleports onto you until you're ready to be killed. And you're suggesting they have a tape in the first place, which will not always be the case.
This is why you have to care about condemn and deal with it early, seems like a good thing.

"A lack of any sort of reliable anti-loop tool immediately makes her extremely mediocre. If you get sent to Eyrie, Ormond, Swamp or worst of all, the newly buffed Badham"
Her having no anti-loop is part of her, and its alright if a killer doesn't perform as well on certain maps than others.
It's not like she does well in any other maps, and the fact not having anti loop is part of her is what makes her mediocre, unless they go insane on everything else, which they didn't.
@remoirel said:
condemn isn't meant to kill survivors its meant to slow people down by choosing to turn off tvs to prevent her map control. Idk why people in this community think killer powers like condemn and reverse bear traps should be killing people left and right for barely any effort
I'm having way too much fun playing as this killer to even warrant thinking about buffs for her
"condemn is meant to slow down people" when it doesn't even properly slow down anyone, unless they intentionally farm condemn for some reason.
Reverse bear trap and lament configuration is extremely more reliable, quick to deploy, and also takes time, unlike this one which takes extremely long time to stack up and also extremely quick to get rid of.
-
There is no interaction between killers and survivors while playing holding W game, I could say this is a survivor equivalent of facecamping.
Nothing to do, nothing to think, just plain time sink.
It's more like fundamental problem of the game, not like there is anything wrong with the act itself.

My instant Survivor Queue during this evening shows that right now Survivors are scarce.
But the rest is correct.
Today is not an usual day, it's two or one days right after new killer release.
Just like PTB which has much longer killer que times, in specific circumstance killers can overweigh survivors, definitely not common though.

Not surprising. SBMM is a dumpster fire. What a great way to encourage new players to stick with the game 🙄
No, SBMM is not what makes something like this happen, this is caused by que imbalance and the fact this community is toxic as #########.
Things like this has happening all the time, since general consensus is that killers are extremely scarce, matchmaking always prioritize que speed over balanced matches.
-
SBMM is not working, nothing unexpected here.
-
Sadako is original of spirit, face the truth, you can't escape from it.

In my experience when we didn't go hard on gens at the beginning the game quickly snowballed into the killers favor. After the 2-3 gens the game usually slows down, sometimes substantially.
I have no idea why the start of the match is like that but it seems like the best case scenario for getting an escape or longer game is to pump out those 2-3 gens as fast as possible.
That's because while someone is on hook and others are chasing, there is only 1 people on generators as opposed to 3 on start.
And you can't ignore all the perks that rewards WINNING too, those things makes generators little harder to do once killer manage to hook someone.
Basically game is extremely swingy, if one side starts winning they win more.

It's pretty fun until it's not.

They've noticed they can use up all the palettes in the entire world and still can win against most killers.
-
What, who needs comparison between those perks and when?
I mean Pop shouldn't get a nerf at all? like there is no problem in that perk?
-
@KerJuice said:
You most likely ran into a killer who camps regardless of what killer he uses. Probably wanted to see how good she was at it. Don’t let her mobility surprise you as a reason not to camp. A lot of dumbass campers run Barbecue (which rewards you for not camping) but don’t go anywhere. They’ll stand there and get their 2K win, cause you know- Hockey. 🙄
barbecue rewards camping too (with 25% bonus), especially when survivors are A L T R U I S T I C.
As long as you play non-onehit killers, people tend to exchange hooks, results in plenty of BP and barbecue stack.
It's so easy, fast, and efficient way to get BP, all while reducing MMR to actually have fun in game.
-
The answer is just don't, this game has bunch of killers who seems to have some depths but in the end none of them works good against any decent survivors.
Pretty much all of strong killers are rather obvious, you'll know it just by looking at their powers and stats.
-
"Sadako has a guaranteed win, if she manages to kill 1 Survivor before ~3 Generators get finished."
As if other killers doesn't has a guaranteed win in that situation.
Pretty much every killer has advantage in that situation, even the one who doesn't have very good mobility can achieve 3k most of times afterwards.
What killers need to be good is something that helps when they are on disadvantage, which she doesn't really have one

Some people wants 100% win, when they lose one game:
Survivors are op nerf, this killer op nerf. I don't take serious this people.
I can not say DbD is balanced because it is not and it needs changes but if i believe this forum, this game is survivorside and survivors are escaping 90% of time.
This game IS survivor sided and fairly good survivors are escaping 90% of times, even if you remove "good" and replace it with plain swf BHVR said there is 15% gap or something between them and soloq in escape rate, which is rather big and prove average killers fall behind SWFs.
Just like how good nurses are 4king 90% of times.
I mean if one side only consists of nurse tier character, and other side is variety of trash to decent to nurse, game is certainly tilted toward that one side.
-
I mean, have you ever seen a PvP game where it doesn't increase/decrease based on just win and lose?
Yeah changes can be higher or lower based on performance, but if you lose you will lose points no matter what.
It's no different in DbD, if you win you will get the points, if you lose you will lose points, and it's proven to work just fine.

Hooks is physically the objective though, you cant get kills without really hooking people. It's like saying you can escape without doing gens (admittedly actually possible due to 3 teammates)
But you're having double standards, you cant have survivors chase counts as skill but not killers hooks.
I'm not saying kills or escapes mean nothing, but you cant just use them. My previous comment explains the issue with doing so
Just that survivors can always suicide on first hook and forces killers to get 1 hook kill, and even if they didn't other survivors might simply ignore him and let him go.
Hook count is not something killers can get on their own.

Oh I agree but the current system isnt that great especially due to the vague nature of what actually happens. The current SBMM only uses the end result which as we know doesn't show how the game went at all.
The biggest issue with the emblem system was how nice it was to altruism and Escaping (even through hatch) and had a safety pip feature, probably would of been a good system if you either pip or didnt
Actually, current system cares about how game goes... specifically how long it took, if it's too quick, game will consider it as unbalanced match and MMR changes will be smaller.
The reason why matchmaking sucks is simply because MMR is not used for it, not because MMR itself sucks.
-
MMR is literally not working and it has nothing to do with it, it's more of a problem of how weak killer without meta perks are and how much skill they need to even stand a chance against most of survivors.
-
@Chadku said:
i honestly believe that at this point there´s no real MMR system in place and the matches are made depending on who hasn´t been playing for long.
I get sweatfests and curbstomps at random at this point.
They stated it Does work like that and accounting it for MMR too.
-
kills/escapes seems to work much better for separating sweaty one and others, it's not a problem.

You can't change a fair mechanic because people with bad internet struggle against it.
360s are fine and period. They at most work only the first time and on bad killers. Learn to play killer then complain about 360.
I've never caught by it and thus thinking removing it hurts no one.
-
I could say 1 to 4 ratio is the biggest problem, one killer leaving hurts as much as four survivors leaving.
I'm not sure if it's dying anyway, it could rerise upon anniversary or something.
-
Ask BHVR to make better killer I guess.

Lol, I would love to see BHVR make survivors 3 health states and remove all "Second chance" perks and see if you genuinely find them comparable, because I can promise you, three health states would make you quit the first day.
Just like with DH,
*shrug*
-
Just go insane and buff everything around swfs, most of the killer things.
Then slowly and carefully fix solo survivors to not have a problem, while trying not to buff swfs.
I'm sure it will work when we have funny ratio like right now and also 50% or so of players are swfs anyway.
-
@Axx said:
Most people don't see the game being survivor sided because they are not able to play survivor at a level where they are able to take advantage of how strong survivor can be. The majority of players will never reach that level, so the majority will always disagree. Also, a lot of people don't care about things that don't affect them personally in a negative way. Seeing that survivor is the role that seems to be played by more people, you can put two and two together.
It's weird how many people think nurse is super strong yet can't understand how strong survivors are.
-
Well, people who've been playing for years should only match with people who've been playing for years, otherwise it's noobstomping and extremely bad experience of opponent team.

If there's no killers then why is killer que time so high
I shouldn't go on death streaks and face BETTER killers with triple my hours back to back. That makes literally no sense
Well, opposite can happen I suppose.
If there is not enough survivors YOU will be throwed at any killers waiting for long time, either way it's caused by que imbalance.
It literally makes no sense simply because this is not meant to, it's more or less working as intended.

She's M1 so she's not going to be winning any tournaments. Is she fine for 99% of solo Q teams? Yes.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2840457#Comment_2840457
Have you played Wraith before? It's basically the same thing. At any point you are able to walk up to a gen from behind a LOS blocker and get a free hit to start a chase. Nothing says you need to commit to that chase; when you have mobility like she does. Nothing says you need to go straight from the TV dash into a hit. It's perfectly viable to get "close enough" to where the gens are from a TV and then just walk up undetectable.
M1 killer knowledge will let you know what chases you should even be taking. That's a huge amount of knowledge required. How good are you, how good is the survivor you are chasing, what tiles do they have nearby, what else could you be doing in the meantime, etc etc. M1 killers cannot, and should not, take every chase. And Onryo has the mobility she doesn't need to commit to anything.
And im talking the addon that makes her phase post-manifestation go an extra 2 seconds. You can basically use it at any loop and it helps quite a bit. ~6 seconds of no red stain? That's alot.
I plan on running at least 1-2 chase perks on her when I get them. I already brutal strength and it's great.
99% of solo qs, which is like 49% of survivor populations.
Mmm.

I share the same feelings really
A lot of the matches feel the same now
Either 3 gens pop and the killer has to camp one dude out or the killer proactively tunnels one dude out from the get-go
I can go on like 8+ death streak and still be paired with nurse players with almost triple my hours. Escape Based Matchmaking makes no sense
That's just matchmaking literally not working due to lack of killers, they threw anything they found at you, while intentionally ignoring MMR for que time.
Also do note MMR decrease will be negated in some degree if you die quickly because "probably match wasn't balanced", they acknowledge this system and made it so MMR will take it into consideration.
-
If anything, skill checks could be removed and force every generators to block for 20 seconds at 90% and we can still call it fair because it only happens once.
-

It doesn't say difficulty "hard" for no reason. I don't think she's bad at all, just requires alot of game knowledge to play effectively.
She seems pretty strong with her add-ons. With the right ones she is basically an M1 killer without a red stain half the time in chase, which is really annoying at a ton of loops where you can't see her over.
Her perks seemed really good for her too. Call of brine deleting gens while you teleport across the map into new chases and floods of rage providing tons of jump scares.
But then survivors would learn how to deal with her too, are you sure she can overcome that.

How did I?
If you go down in that basement without a door broken you can't get the survivor out, all I said is that killers having to drop me because they can't get me out has happened far more than those doors being open losing me a chase.
I don't see the doors being open as a nerf or a buff but if you constantly have maps that you AFK on you absolutely need to get better at the game.
But keep reaching man, you'll get those stars at some point.
Are you misunderstanding that this is from survivor's PoV or something?
It literally introduce practical infinity where you should just drop a chase no matter what, playing seriously in those kind of maps only makes you miserable.

And faster wiggling speed it brought is certainly changing the game, in bad way.

The invisibility is not increased by 83%. The addons have separate effects.
The newspaper increases the time that she remains invisible during the flickering duration by 33%. Flickering duration is the time when she is intermittently visible. I believe this turns the duration that she's invisible from 0.75s to 1s if I remember the numbers correctly.
The mirror addon increases the flickering duration by 50%, so instead flickering for 4 seconds, she flickers for 6.
Perhaps he is talking about an addon that increase invisibility duration while DEMANIFESTED by 50%.

Whatever it is, one more "big" buffs would do good.

Only Maps are truly survivor sided. The game in general is who ever plays sweatier sided. I have beat a team of survs that all had Meta Perks including 4 CoH, but I played Vommy Mommy and played so sweaty that a pool formed under my chair, so people could say it killer sided there where if I faced the same team as trapper or hag then it's Survivor sided
If 90% of maps are survivor sided, and everything else is balanced, game is 90% survivor sided.
And also same goes for killers, if 90% of killers are survivor sided, game is 90% survivor sided.

This one is definitely better, much easier to use, much more reliable, and almost immune to nerfs as she has lowest kill rate of all.

It’s not about “picking it up instantly and winning” it’s about creating bad habits for new players that will rely on the combination so much to where they can’t play without it. It needs to be removed.
I can't play without any slowdown or BBQ or strong addons for any killers because all of them are underwhelming without those, but never thought it as bad habit because this game is somewhat balancing against what survivors can do with those kind of things, I think removing strong combos only makes game more unbalanced.
The fact they aren't addressing this is also telling it's mostly fine in statistics too, unless they be like twins and "this is monster at high MMR and in hands of very good players".

Exactly, this perk has no reason for anyone to use it unless they want a more challenging game, so I thought of something that could make a difference using it, I had this idea based on her name too (No Mither), so I believe the idea of the perk is that you have resources that don't depend on the help of other survs, being able to have more chances of getting off the hook alone would be very good with it.
Make it 100% and let them die in two hooks rather than three.
Struggle phase doesn't match with that flavor.

Have you tried getting better at the game? lmao.
The amount of killers that have had to drop me because they downed me in the basement of the school and couldn't make it to a hook has far outweighed the amount of times those breakable doors have caused me to lose a chase.
...what?
You are matching against baby killers and somehow proud of it...?
-
I don't think early adept does matter that much as MMR will be wacky on release.
I think she could be fairly nice one to get adept mostly due to perks rather than kits, there is two slowdowns and a tracking perk, it's nice.
Congrats still, though.
