Scary things.

The most annoying part of this is that some killers are literally children I got tunneled just cuz I got a pallet save or sabo a hook, like how ######### dare I use a mechanic that is in the game...
You are such a threat to the killer gameplay and thus you should be immediately removed from the game, otherwise your sheer existence itself makes every killers insane and unwinnable, honor yourself for being a good adversary.

That comment is so wrong.
"Getting good as killer is pointless" 😭
Camp every hook and pray killers, theres no point to play the game normally.
Camping is certified normal gameplay from BHVR

Slowdown will always be meta, when 4 survivors can spawn on separate gens I'm not sure what you expect
That's exactly the reason why having more slowdown is feasible, it gave the variety for that smallset of meta.

Imagine thinking controlle or m&k player are more or less skilled in a game like DBD
It's much different than you think, unless you play on survivor.
-
I think complaint can worth something, complaining about complaints itself feels literally pointless and waste of time, it's not like anyone stops complaining when you dismiss them.
-
I do as long as I can down people, I do not if not.
Simple.

I would not put her on the same tier as Clown. Clown is way better. His power is definitely pretty strong in the 1v1 if you are tunneling people with it. Bleach clown just got nerfed it was so good.
Well, If I can go that far, sure, she is worse than clown.
Clown is one of few who can actually "counter" DS in some way... which is quite good too.
-
Since most of regressions are generally side-grade at best, it's nice to make the game little more diverse by introducing them, even though meta is still pretty much just slowdown and that's it.

Ironically, by trying to get better at the game and get zero kills, you derank and thus don't face sweaty SWF's.
Facecamping on the other hand hands you a "2k or more" according to op. In my experience this is usually the case as well. In other words, you won't derank and in fact will rank up making the chances of going against sweaty SWF's much higher.
The only difference is, these sweaty SWF's probably didn't reach their position by being bad loopers and know how to handle themselves in chase. You on the other hand reached your ranking by standing still in front of hooked survivors so you'll have an even worse time catching these survivors as you hardly have any experience chasing survivors.
I'm too good to actually achieve zero kills, so I do face sweaty SWFs unless I purposefully derank, kekw
And if you think you can't get good while facecamping, that's plain wrong anyway, since you do consistently kill more survivors and keep MMR high, you can learn much more than people who fought against bad survivors, results in more skill growth.
After all, if end results is same, but the effort is different, why pick harder way, that's pointless, And I don't believe even the best survivors can't deal with facecamping at all...
You know defending a hook still require some kind of skill, patience and intelligence? I suppose you don't because you've never met a determined anti-camping squad, lol
-
None, because I will always hard-tunnel a survivor, there is no "but I wasn't tunneling" situation.

Yeah, they really can’t win. They have more players then a year ago. Consistently.
They suffered for not doing enough events. They wanted to only focus on the Anniversary and Halloween. Backlash.
Theyve done the complete opposite this year. A mini-Tome during Halloween. Snowmen event with cosmetics. Envelope event with cosmetics. A Christmas advent calendar.
Amazon Prime give aways.
We get another smaller giveaway that matches the theme of the new chapter. And thoughtless people like OP say thoughtless things like this thread. Empty minded.
BHVR did something cool and people think drivel like this.
Snowman was a one ######### mistake no one should ever consider good, anything else is good.

You face cheaters, sure - but not that often. At least that you'll realize.
Getting good and facing correspondingly better players is...how a game is supposed to work, isn't it? Escalating challenge versus escalating difficulty? It wouldn't be much fun to get better at the game and just stomp people - would it?
Sweaty SWFs are annoying, but unless SBMM poops itself, if you are put up against a sweaty SWF, chances are that you're somewhat sweaty yourself.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2850410#Comment_2850410
I hate to say this - but yes.
As a killer, you have to get used to the fact that you aren't really there to 'win'. You are there to curate a fun, thrilling experience for survivor players. Unless you are a 5000 hour DbD god, you shouldn't be 4king regularly - if SBMM is working correctly.
Get used to 1-2 players getting away and you'll be happier.
Not in this game, because it only reduces the gameplay diversity for one, the better you are, the less you can do, playing in strict way just to win is pretty unfun.
I think playing at low MMR while actually being on-par with low MMR survivors are the most fun way to play this game, playing at low MMR while being somewhat good is second, and playing at high MMR is not fun regardless of your skill.

Solo Q I bet.

Fair enough opinion, but a team in communication doesn't always beat a killer, I've completely destroyed and made rage quit some teams that the match before bullied me when I was Wraith just because they weren't prepared for Hag.
That's just incompetent team, isn't it? you literally said they weren't good against hag.
What's important is more usual gameplay with average killers or tourney with same skill level, no killers other than nurse/blight does good without perk restrictions and such, and on average gameplay survivors on comms have like dozen perk worth of advantage which can easily make the game almost unwinnable.
-
I'm pretty sure she is no stronger than clown, she is just M1 killer with all the counterable and unreliable side-effect which doesn't affect matches at all, she would stomp newbies and could have decent kill rate, but that's only because there is lot of newbies who don't know what she does at all.
Everything she does to survivor is basically counterable, nothing is actually threatening, everything is telegraphed, can disable powers entirely, it's pretty obvious she can't do well against anyone decent.

Strongest map pressure? If you teleport to a TV it turns off for around 40 seconds and then if you do it to every TV you'll have no way to teleport.
(That's if the survivors don't keep turning them off as well, they can turn off like 4 TV's before condemned has any effect)
They can keep them off and you can never teleport.
100 seconds, not 40 seconds, at least in PTB.

Probably yes, one week is pretty short and it's not like game will be unplayable.

I was convinced that Merciless Storm was a terrible perk and that the scourge hook would be beast mode but I've seen more value so far from merciless storm...crazy.
That being said, I dont think itll be nerfed. If Nurse hasn't got Starstruck and lethal pursuer nerfed yet then I dont see any hope of Nurse getting this nerfed
None of those perks does any better than other killers, nurse is just a good killer and of course does better than other killers with same perk.

@GoshJosh said:
I think it would be busted. I wouldn’t mind adding a lingering effect to it, and maybe making it even more punishing the closer you are to survivors; but just giving a 50% healing debuff outside the TR is ridiculous.
Think about it, Sloppy only gives 20% for actively engaging one survivor with a basic attack. You’re proposing 50% for all survivors outside of a 32m or smaller radius at all times.
Considering how fast healing won't be busted (or maybe it is) and plague isn't busted, it wouldn't be busted especially when it takes a perk slot of killer.

AFK strats are boring. AFK pig should be addressed by devs. Unfun hostage tactic.

Really nothing, playing as basement huntress with insidious and trapping survivors are pretty fun.
@Oscarnator said:
Why shouldn't I go 4man SWF with a clicky-clicky flashlight with Dead Hard and BNP?
No one said that, it's not your problem that game is broken and extremely unbalanced with SWF.
The more SWFs are dominant in this game, the more problem will be obvious, if anything everyone should only play SWF and stop playing SoloQ, so game will be made around that and BHVR don't have to care about "but soloq" argument.
-
She is actually an only balanced killer against good survivors with strong addons, just like blight.
And unlike blight, she doesn't do that well on average level as when survivors are bad nurse is also bad, I can only see this as proof of how balanced she is, unlike slogs that is other killers.
@Zomb1eB0y said:
I agree, she definitely needs a ground-up rework so she'd be in line with other killers. 😯
I don't mind having strong killers in the game. Blight is a good example of a good killer with lots of counterplay. I enjoy playing against him. I went many times against LilithOmens Blight and I'm stunned to see what a good Blight can do!
Games against her aren't fun at all and I was part of this community ever since she came out... Something needs to be done about her. She's really unhealthy in this state + addons. Nuisance.
She is actually really healthy for the game as it diverse gameplay, I have fun against her a lot, it should be kept.

I don't think a map was bugged ever before and if it was I will retract my statement regarding this issue.
But if BHVR literally left it that way, then it's meant to be that way.
If you believe they meant to reintroduce infinites on a map for some reason, I think you lost all your faith for BHVR.

I disagree about DS but DH is a good point. I usually play Pyramid Head so DH is rarely an issue for me. As well as DS. But I do know the pain of getting robbed of a down because someone used the E perk.
DS never really comes into affect as long as u don't tunnel or have a chad power that doesn't activate it (me).
I'd say DMS is worse than meta regression solely because it encourages survivors to split up and do different gens. It's only really oppressive with boosted teammates or a camping artist. Where as something like a Tinkerer+Ruin blight can make the game a war of attrition if ruin isn't cleansed fast enough. Or any sort of killer with mobility. Spirit, Billy, Nurse, Blight (again). Basically turns the 3 most powerful killers into even stronger beasts. As well as ruin alone can buy u some good time on gens. Even if it's only up for about 2 minutes, if you're chasing survs off of gens that time adds up.
I could also go on about things like Corrupt buying even more early game pressure, Pain Resonance's ability to target crucial gens, Pop being able to synergize with other slowdown perks or fall back on when the others fail.
They don't necessarily help you in the way that DH does, but they are extremely impactful. And they make the game much easier for high tier killers and killer players with experience.
I mean, DS is more "rewards losing" than DH, you can use DH without ever making a mistake at all, you can't with DS, if you don't tunnel you are forced to hook four times as opposed to three times to kill a survivor.
"make the game much easier for good killers" is not quite good, because it means it doesn't help bad killers while immensely boosting good killers.

No, not even Nurse with 3 blinks and Blight can win alchemist ring can win against 4 giant toolboxes with BNPS and 12 charges with meta perks or 4 Lucky Break + Overcome with ranger medkits.
Almost all killers now have an anti loop power, and even the last m1 killers remained can do a lot of stuff unless you have maps like Cowshed or The Game.
Solo Q is not broken because of the matchmaking, you rarely find 4 very good solo survivors.
Not much of anti loop killers can deal with good palettes, you don't even need god palettes to deal with them, mobility is the biggest problem for most anyway.
I think few months ago someone did "everything is allowed" tourney and results were 2k2e average with only three killers used, which means more or less game is "balanced" as long as everyone take meta loadout.
And I suppose SoloQ is broken ONLY because of the matchmaking? I think game is fine (or even still survivor sided) against most of killers even without comms.

@Vampwire said:
I think COH is annoying and quad slowdown carries too many bad killers. I'd like to see less killer perks focused on actual regression and more on buying time through blocking gens or extending the match time (i.e Dead Mans Switch, No way out). Doing gens is boring and a lot of newer killers struggle with gen speeds. It makes losing gens less stressful and more interaction for survivors, while also rewarding killers for their skills rather than dragging out the match so long the survivors just run out of resources before they can finish the last gens.
Overall I don't think the balance is as terrible as many people make it out to be. There's a couple of poo poo maps. And breakable walls are annoying. But often times the balance issues are blown out of proportion by people who didn't actually play that great but don't want to admit it. The game was so much worse than it is now I honestly can't even complain.
Have been playing since 2018 btw.
I think DMS is much better at carrying bad killers, usual regression perks can't really make time to actually chase a survivor, DMS does that.
Honestly, most of the slowdown perks in general doesn't really help bad killers, those things all rewards winning, not losing like DS and DH in extent.
-
We need to see winrate stats on survivors/killers with every perks, at any MMR, with all add-ons.
BHVR SHOULD have stats, they even said twins are monster at high MMR, it's ridiculous if they can't show us proof.
oh also SWF escape rate, which is quite ridiculously high they said.
"average win/lose ratio" is literally pointless as it doesn't show any potential of them.

I am pretty sure Nurse and Blight also have better rates on high mmr. Because on low mmr, they are baby. And i can say same for Freddy and Pig too. Pig and Freddy on weakside but people who know to play them well, they are very good.
To Op, Sadako is pretty fun killer. She is best hit and run killer.
Nurse maybe, blight unlikely.
He is 4.6 killer and shouldn't perform bad no matter what MMR they are on, low MMR survivors are full of people who don't know what the loop is, or even not knowing what the fast vault is.
I don't know if there is any good evidence that pig and freddy does well on high MMR.
-
@MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:
Key words are here: SWF. Yeah, you can do this with your friends. But on solo-q, you are clueless. You are going to save your teammate, you are seeing Bubba is camping. You are turning back to gens but you already wasted so much time.
Pretty simple answer here, don't play soloq.
It's like saying game should be balanced around killers who intentionally spread hooks or not using any slowdowns, rather weird.

We need much more of them, we need variety, not easy same loop every games.

I mean, it's not untrue. If a nurse can reliably hit her blinks, there is no counterplay. Even if you out mindgame her on first blink, they just correct with a second blink and now even a third one. True, she's hard to get that good with, but many people are. It doesn't matter if you break LOS or mindgame, that second blink is always going to be there to correct their misread on the first blink. Unless your default build consists of IW/Q&Q/DWM/DH, you're not going to be able to do much at all.
It's often said that survivors don't juke Nurse, she just misses her blinks.
"If a killer can reliably win a match, there is no way to defeat them"
It's not untrue statement, but plain stupid.
-
Tbh I don't even "feel" those perks working, but surely people healed up extremely fast and gens fly while on it.
game breaking but not as bad as dead hard, I guess.

@IsMmrReal said:
Why on earth are nurses' range addons giving her blink more movement speed which in turn gives her a longer lunge when swinging out of said blink? Please tell me this is a mistake because there is no way on earth that Sally needs this change!!! Shes disgusting in the right hands as is and adding more speed/lunge distance to her is really adding insult to injury. I played a nurse with Kavanughs last breath, and I could tell it was funky when she hit me at like 10 meters away. She is super oppressive with the addons alone let alone more speed. Please fix this because she is unbearable as is let alone this new change.
What? Nurse's range addon increase lunge distance now?
I'm pretty sure range addons are used to increase blink speed, but LUNGE?
-
all hare CoH!
-
Game is balanced for most of time as long as survivors are full stacked SWF and killer is full meta nurse/blight, anything else is broken and mostly survivor sided.
Most of the maps are too big and has too many loops to be viable for usual killers, and while most of "average" players can easily pick up SWF, playing just two killer is rather difficult.
SoloQ is broken but it's not like survivors are forced to play different characters while playing SWF.

I think in the way SBMMR is... does lead to boring games (one way or the other)
Kills Vs Escapes
But yes there are many ways to show skill in the game
I think Kills V Escapes should trump them... Like ( in your metaphors) getting 10 Hooks with one Kill would mean that you credit for those 10 Hooks but you get more credit for that 1 Kill... And the same for getting 4 Hooks and 4 Kills would mean that you get credit for those 4 Hooks but more for the 4 Kills
And on the flip side... If I were to do 3 Gens and die that would mean I do get credit for completing 3 Gen but not as much seeing how I died. Or I could be that Survivor saving everyone but end up dead I would get some credit for all of those saves but it doesn't mean that much seeing how I died
Plus it would be hard to implement something like that into the game (especially with how the game is coded)
It doesn't make the game any more boring than what it is now, people have no reason to farm MMR, they can't even see it for reason.
Intention of this system is to separate sweaty "boring" players to less-sweaty casual players, which does work nicely even with kills/escapes as long as there is enough players.
-
