Whether you want to argue semantics or statistics, it doesn't change the fact that somebody dies (loses) because of no fault of their own/no skill expression
Maybe we could call begging others to save them "skill expression", heh.

It isn’t “obviously done on purpose”. Did you not read what I said? Trying to 4% to get off hook then missing the skill checks on ACCIDENT shouldn’t be a dc penalty. And there’s no way for the game to know if you accidentally or purposely did. Plus what about situations where there’s only one other person left and your on hook and you want to try to give them hatch? That should be a dc penalty as well….? It’s mind boggling how the people with 10K+ posts have some of the worst ideas
You shouldn't have the ability to give survivors hatch, I think it's better to remove suicide capability than penalty though.

You do realise only 1 survivor can ever escape through the hatch at any time, right?
The hatch only spawns when there is 1 survivor remaining
So, not to be rude but maybe read up how these mechanics actually work before declaring other people to be wrong
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2853293#Comment_2853293
50% + 50% = 100%
100% of 1 person dying with no effort on the killers part.
100% of 1 person dying is 100% of 1 person living, you don't know which one will be, thus 50% of that person dying.

Yes there is such a thing.
If 2 survivors have their key in the same box and the pig blocks it, there is 0 counterplay. 1 survivor has a 100% guaranteed chance to die with no recourse
It doesn't matter how likely or unlikely it is, you shouldn't spawn in the match and be basically already dead.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2853285#Comment_2853285
It doesn't change the fact that 1 survivor is basically dead from the get-go with no skill expression or effort from the killer. It's poor design and makes no sense.
At least when you get facecamped by Bubba he has to actually beat you in a chase first
they are not dead yet, someone will die, but no one knows who that gonna be.
So, both of them had 50% of chance of survival.

Balancing yes, bugfix not so much.

Thats not body blocking. The player can still leave the game. Body blocking is like holding the game hostage, where the player cannot move. As far as I can tell, the survivor can move freely.
The devs just need to find another way for Survivors to escape the trap other than the jigsaw puzzles.
Examples could be using a toolbox or adding a perk that works like the toolbox (no insane repair speeds), or have another survivor assist in removing the trap like healing.
I'm hoping the devs have something like this up their sleeve, because while it's all fair, it isn't fun.
The fact is, more or less you have one, hatches will bypass traps.

You aren't balancing for 0.1 % for nerfing Nurse. Nurse is a big problem for the majority of the player base, nerfing her balances for the 99.9 %, which are casual. 99.9 % who are just playing for fun have to deal with a potentially broken Killer, designed for comp.
There is no balance for top%.
Regarding Spirit, if you outplay her at a loop, she now has a 15 second cooldown where she is a 110 % M1 Killer. That's plenty of time to get to another loop before she gets her power again.
Same wiith Blight. If you predict his hug, slide, whatever techs and juke it, even better if he used up all his rushes, again.. you've got time to run to another loop. He is 4.6, but unlike Spirt he's got a fatigue, followed by a 4 to 10 second cooldown, which is again enough time to reach a loop and a time where those 2 Killers are especially vulnerable against pallets and windows.
Are you seriously asking for nerfs because 0.1% of nurse players can annihilate 99.9% of players which is CLEARLY LESS SKILLED than them? should we nerf every one of survivor perks and addons because 0.1% SWF meta squad can annihilate 99.9% of killers, which are casual, who are just playing for fun to deal with a potentially broken survivor utilities, WHICH IS NOT EVEN DESIGNED FOR COMP.
There is no "outplay" in perfect play, you can't outplay spirit because "0.1% good spirit player" WILL NOT MAKE A MISTAKE, they won't fall for anything you throw at because they are "good" just like "0.1% good nurse player" which WILL NOT MAKE A MISTAKE and predict EVERY ONE of move perfectly, 15second is nothing.
Same with blight, you can't predict his hug, slide, whatever techs because "good blight player" will always play PERFECTLY, he predict every single move you do without EVER MAKING A MISTAKE, you don't have any time to run to another loop.
It's literally wrong to assume killer players to play perfectly with some kind of omniscience , saying "nurse is broken because against good nurse any counter does not work" is basically doing that.

If something like an AFK killer being able to kill 4 players shouldn't be addressed. The I guarantee that meta perks, map rebalanced, generator speeds and boons shouldn't be addressed either.
Do you think the developers are going to be proactive with balance changes when they aren't even making the effort to address bugs.
"AFK" isn't even correct anyway, they are just camping the box while pretending to be AFK.

Spirit and Blight work perfectly fine on loops. It is sure that they'll get you eventually, but so will any Killer. Some slower, some faster.. without breaking any defences Survivors have.
And again, I am not talking MDR Spirit, which basically has no counterplay, I am talking base Spirit, which clearly is balanced and you don't have to see her to be able to juke her.
It shows that you aren't good enough against a Killer weaker than Nurse, but somehow you are saying that Nurse is balanced. It doesn't make much sense.
Spirit and Blight can simply disallow you for going loops and can break plenty of loops if they played perfectly.
With MDR or not, 7.0 speed is enough to hit survivors no matter what IF SPIRIT PLAYED PERFECTLY.
I'm not talking from survivor or killer perspective, I'm explaining you the ridiculousness of deciding strength by assuming player NEVER make a mistake.

That works against a mediocre Nurse. Getting good with her will beat 95 % of all teams. She is a comp Killer within a casual game.
She might be balanced and beatable against top sweat squads but a truly (good) Nurse will beat any team which aren't top squads.
But balancing only around the 0.1 % isn't excactly practical.
If a player is winning against 95% of all teams with nurse, that player is clearly better than 95% of nurses too.
Since top sweat squad always win against any killer which aren't top tier AND top skill, sweat nurse always winning against any survivors which aren't top squads only seems fair.
If you nerf the nurse because of "good nurse" which is like 0.1%, YOU are balancing only around the 0.1%, which, as you said, "is not exactly practical".

Apparently the range addons are bugged if you don't fully charge your blink. It increases your blink speed, so survivors can't really react to you.
But then blink movement speed is faster with range addons as far as I remember, do you think it's a bug that is somehow no one acknowledged and never got fixed, in really popular killer like nurse?

I remember when healing was nerfed - it gave birth to the Resiliance, Spine Chill, Iron Will, Adrenaline meta and I believe it most definitely gave rise to what we now refer to as "gen rushing". Prior to that, Survivors would spend more time healing but this change showed survivors that they were wasting time healing and focus the generators instead. Survivors adapted to the changes and developed a new meta basically, which is something that will always happen.
I don't mind survivors healing, as I know that's less time they're spending on gens. Speed of healing could possibly be an issue - super fast medkits etc, but I do not think healing itself is the biggest issue.
I don't think anything can be called "meta" without perks associated to them, there is no "healing meta" without any healing items/perks.

WEll yes, but if dead hard gets changed, survivors will move back to sprint burst. The only difference between the two is the 1 extra hit. Plus sprint burst has no injured requirement and will be used at the start of the chase.
And you might see a increase in med kits with scyptic agents as a replacement for the hit.
Bottom line is then babies will move on to cry about the next perk in line when more survivors start using it.
Who cries about it doesn't really matter, sprint burst is objectively worse than dead hard, game will be more fair with them.
-
You can kinda counter I-frame, you can't counter distance.
-
@Tiufal said:
It wont. Cause survivors will move on to the next perk to use in order. And you will see the same people crying a river about 99% Sprint Burst being uncounterable as now about DH.
The chances are sprint burst doesn't help as much as dead hard.

What movement speed? Dead Hard is a dash, it's not a "permanent" movement speed modifier (like Hope or NOED).
Are we getting off track?
Dead Hard IS movement speed, it doesn't matter if it is permanent or not, it allows survivors to gain enough distance to practically gain an additional health state, which will break game.

It's great that you actually bringt that up, because it really is a valid strategy, maybe not the most ethical one, but a valid one.
As we're talking about sportsmanship, I see you've got one of those fancy new profile pictures. Congrats.
So you have nothing else to actually say beside "this is valid", I don't think you need two lines of sentence to say that.
I'm being sarcastic because it's valid, if it wasn't valid I have no reason to act like that.

Eh, no. NOED has no place in this discussion. It has nothing to do with Deadhard. You can play play DBD "normally" even with NOED, just cleanse the totem.
Nurse or Blight has no place in this discussion, it has nothing to do with dead hard, you can play DbD "normally" even with blight or nurse, just play good.
There is a good reason why survivor's movement speed will not be messed around much, and if they do usually very carefully, because it can make killers lose a game just because of that one movement speed.
-
Trying to taunt other side of players and making them mad is valid strategy in this game, wow cool what a sportsmanship.

No, the fact plenty of people says "just bait it out" is clear proof of how majority can't utilize this perk properly.

Did you just really call wraith and legion broken? And compare 2 m1 killers to a killer that can literally noclip through walls?
I don’t condone suiciding on hook but against a nurse with stacked slowdowns I can understand if my teammates kill themselves. If you don’t ######### then, you’re only delaying for 1 or 2 more mins till she kills you.
People want to loop killers using windows and pallets and actually mindgame eachother. All you do against a nurse is hope she misses which isn’t counterplay. So if teammates want to move on to a more fun and interactive killer I’ll happily join them.
Yes, because "really good" wraith and legion who will never make a mistake will surely kill all the "not very good" survivors who DO make mistakes because they are human, unlike "good killer (or nurse if you say) player" which is perfect AI with full code of DbD implanted onto it.
Oh also you probably should use seconds instead of mins, because delaying a min or two to kill a survivor is definitely game changer.

Spirit is Balanced and she is not faster than a predropped pallet. Her directional and distance audio helps survivors know if she is coming for them while phased so that speed she has dosnt mean alot now. Spirit does have broken addon combos but she is not broken.
Spirit can easily be mind gamed and IW kills any chance that she can track you.
If your calling her broken because of her speed while phased then Wraith is Broken.....Billy is broken......Hag is broken......Oni is broken.....Legion is broken....all of them can bypass pallets easily or negate them completely.
You know, every one of those killers are broken if they make no mistakes, just like how "good nurse" which never makes a mistake will be broken no matter what.

Actually potato survivors are stronger than potato Nurse. Because she does not know how to use power and she can not catch survivors with her speed. So potato survivors probably destroying potato Nurse, Which why Nurse has lowest kills always.

Spirit has high potential and she is strong. This is why she is highest A (not S anymore). But she is not close Nurse's level. Even Blight has not this potential. Because both killers have to break god pallets. Both killers can not ignore strong loops. But Nurse can do this. Nurse is slower than other killers and survivors, she has reason. But end of the day, Strong SWF vs Strong Nurse have equal chance to wins.
I know nurse is stronger, and I know she is actually balanced, I'm just stating "balancing" game with expectation of perfect gameplay is stupid.
Like, hell, I could say if that spirit/blight plays perfectly survivors aren't even allowed to drop "god pallet" or reach strong loops, but that will not happen in normal gameplay.
Strong survivors vs Strong nurse is on par, average survivors vs average nurse is on par, potato survivors vs potato nurse is... also on par, we don't have a problem here.
-
Range addons WILL speed up blink speed, it's always been a thing as far as I remember.
Blink speed is not based on distance or charge time, it's based on relative to maximum charge, say, you can charge 2 seconds without addons and can charge 4 seconds with addons, and you charged for a second in both situation, it will yield same distance, but without addons you will move at speed for 50% blink, while you will move at speed for 25% blink with addons.

Are you trying tell Spirit is better lol? Best Spirit probably can not beat best SWF. But Nurse has chance. Spirit is strong but not that much.
I'm talking about potential capability when you ignore the chance of mistake, like, you will win every one of mindgame, you know location of survivors no matter what, and you will never miss a mechanical control.
Because that's literally what all those "nurse is broken" crowd is talking about.
-
@sizzlingmario4 said:
People don’t want to play against her bugged range addons and most nurses right now are using them. The addons should be disabled but they’re not.

She literally has directional phasing. And strong pallets beat her.
She has stupid Add-ons, but I talk about Spirit, not her Add-ons. Current Spirit is balanced, has counterplay, can be mindgamed and even looped. Once she uses her power she is a 4.4 Killer.
Nurse is fundementally broken because she ignores all kind of ressources Survivors have. Pallets, Windows and any kind of play is unreliable against a good Nurse.
You can still loop Blight and Spirt as they are unable to ignore Survivor's ressources, that's why they are not fundementally broken and not because they move fast. With that logic, Billy must be broken than as well.
Every killers are literally visible, so directional phasing is nothing.
She is so fast even the strong pallets will be unsafe.
If you consider spirit is balanced, so is nurse, there is as much as downside and mindgame as spirit, pallets and windows doesn't need to be resources because every one of walls will be resource against her, You can still chase nurse as they are unable to play perfectly.
If you consider nurse as fundamentally broken, so is spirit and blight, pallets or windows will not help survivors if those killers are perfect and never make a mistake, it doesn't matter what survivors do, they will get them, kill them, no counter, and yes, billy is broken too if you expect killer to make no mistake.
"fundamentally broken" is such a stupid argument when every one of powers are made to circumvent something survivors do, range, pallet/windows, movement speed, health state, and such.
-

You don't seem to understand what "fundementally broken" means.
I do, a power that allows killer to move extremely fast in game made around 4.6/4.0 speed ratio is fundamentally broken, more so if that power have no stun and allow one to move like not using any power like spirit.
Unlike nurse or blight, there is LITERALLY nothing survivors can do to counter good spirit, if she know where survivors are they will get hit, no exception.
-
@MrDardon said:
Because people don't want to try against Nurse.
Most of them slug, use the broken Add-ons (which aren't killswitched for some reason), spam slowdown Perks on purpose even though they know she doesn't need so many etc.
People assume every Nurse plays the same so they don't even try, and tbh.. Nurse clearly needs a rework. If you're good enough with her, the whole "skill vs. skill" argument flies out the window.
She needs to be made consistent to the others. Blight and Spirit both aren't fundementally broken but they're still amongst the best Killlers.
And because of her, we can't have strong Perks because they woulf be far to strong on Nurse.
Rework her and keep her current or even pre-nerf version as an offline vs. bot feature, against bots you can make her op as hell, no one cares there.
Spirit and Blight is fundamentally broken if you compare it to anything else, just like nurse.
If you are good enough with her, it's normal to kill underskilled players with ease, if survivors and nurse has same skill level she will be just fine, every stats and record shows that is a fact.
I suppose people are just bad today or something, maybe because of grade reset? I don't know.
