I absolutely despise the RNG of the blood web with perks right now. I've spent 3 million on dredge and I've got only pop at level 1. No pain resonance and only BBQ at 1 as well with no sign of pain resonance.

I feel like the game knows what perks are meta and what's not. Because insidious is always in my blood webs to the point I HAVE to buy it just so it stops taking up a slot I'm hoping a meta perk pops in.

Dying for this bloodweb and perk acquisition changes I have to say.

It's being addressed in the grind reduction announcement.

Have you talked to people in this community......? People never admit they're the problem, and/or their opponent just played better then them.

They find every excuse under the sun except those reasons. "nurse breaks every mechanic in game !" "Hug tech is so borken !!!" It's never that the person got their hit with blight. It's because of a bug/hug tech. "God nurses" are just so unfair. She's just unfair as a killer !

When they die. It's because you're a camper/and or tunneler, etc etc

The apologists get me more. "I play Nurse well with no add-ons, on every map, so clearly she is broken and needs a nerf and needs to be even more unapproachable for anyone who wants to learn her."

I'll be reaching triple digits on her soon, while actively working very hard to get better on her. Where are my free-wins without add-ons on Mother's Dwelling?!

  • I mean like the decision making pattern you have to follow against the killer:

Survivor Reaches Loop -> Artist places crows -> Survivor makes choice to play the loop or exit the loop -> Did Survivor choose correctly? -> Did the survivor leave room to make the next loop if necessary?

That's what outplaying that killer comes down to, when only looking at the core mechanics of a chase. Dredge plays out similarly. Did the survivor make the right choice and how quickly did they make it? That's the skill expression.

can't believe people think you can reasonably cleanse 5 totems per game in solo q lmao

Don't have to cleanse them all, just remember the positions of the ones remaining.

It's not hard. If you can remember a list of five things you have to get at the grocery store you can remember where the last 3 totems are located when that last gen goes off. Put on your thinking cap.

  • Can the survivor correctly determine 1) Where to exit the loop? and 2) Is that exit before the remnant teleport becomes viable? The quicker the survivor figures those two things out the more time they buy to make it to the next loop to repeat. Not all survivors are going to reconcile fast enough.

Kind of similar to Artist's Exit Loop Flowchart.

My favourite Nurse is a wallhack Nurse, I will always run i am all ears nurses bitter murmur bbq and etc over slowdowns and I just have to say I am in love with this perk

I did not bother to unlock Sadako's perks until recently but ever since I got this on Nurse I am running it with almst every matxh being 4k

My new favourite build is this perk, bbq, lethal and haunted grounds for some surprise downs.

At no point can survivors hide from me and I am constatly getting some blink hits I should not be getting.

I honestly thought this will mostly be used by Huntress mains who can snipe you across the map but wow its honestly op on Sally and actually fun to use since I am always on someone and after first 1-2 gens people are just struggling to keep up.

I know community here is currently on the anti-Nurse campaign but fellow Nurse mains I cannot recommend this perk more :D

I use it. Love it. What surprises me is that I have only seen a few survivors catch on that I'm using it. I always check those players for distortion at the end :(. I don't feel it's OP though. It rewards quick hooks. Quick hooks imply you're already winning.

If they are giving you max value by doing silly unhooks than yeah, it will only make the survivors collapse faster.

And the games I lose I can clearly see that I did not get value out of it.

Game is in a sad state and I'm glad that killers get a taste of their own ######### medicine.

It is not my style, even if I understand where it comes from.

Also, I think you use "the majority" pretty lightly. I don't get people like this even in 10 percent of my matches. And even if I got 1 in every match, it would still be 25% of the people, which is far away from the majority.

Also, in all fairness, when someone does DC, it's as frustrating, if not more, than one one is farmed on hook

By majority, I mean players that act in good faith and do NOT DC. For that small percent, it's engrained in who they are. Hence, culture :/

  • @Rythoriak said:

Dredge and Sadako have a very similar gimmick of being able to travel across the map quickly (which is honestly their biggest gimmick for both of them). They are both M1 killers that can be looped very easily other than this even when their passive gimmicks are rolling (Nightfall and Condemned). Even though Condemned is an amazing fast execution, Nightfall will happen multiple times in 99% of matches whereas Condemned executions will rarely take place.

Let's compare. I am assuming they can take any perk they want in the game so we don't take those into account.

    Sadako Pros vs Dredge:

Traveling is instant and only requires phasing out (Dredge takes a long time without Nightfall to go long distances).

Traveling close to survivors gives them a stack of Condemned that may allow her to execute in the future.

Taking away her ability to travel makes survivors gain stacks of Condemned towards execution quickly, forcing them to turn in the tape and not work on generators.

Able to remove terror radius at will (but not able to attack while in it and you can also hear her if you are listening regardless).

    Dredge Pros vs Sadako:

Being able to travel can never be blocked, just slowed.

You get killer instinct when exiting lockers you teleport into telling you exactly where survivors are. You can also see outside of the locker.

You can grab survivors who are in the locker you teleport into (can also be a negative as it makes it very easy to flashlight you coming straight out).

You can only be slowed from traveling once per locker per match (you can take tapes forever against Sadako).

You actually exit locked lockers only about .5-.75 seconds slower than Sadako comes out of an actual TV before she can move with a lock on it. It is also about the same noise level as her base teleport so it isn't even more revealing.

Teleporting to a locker is nowhere near as revealing as it is when Sadako teleports to a TV especially map-wide. Sometimes you can't even notice it.

You have no terror radius while waiting in a locker, giving you a chance to make surprise plays.

Ability cooldown is so short, you can bounce between lockers easily during chases multiple times. This forces survivors to make different loops or try to bait you to teleport into them.

Able to exit lockers much more quickly than Sadako comes out of a TV.

Nightfall is a much stronger version of Sadako's demanifest (but cannot be done at will most of the time).

Locking a locker makes it so the survivors also cannot go into it mid-chase or hide in them if they are doing a generator next ot them.

Looking at these, the only thing Sadako really has going for her vs Dredge is the fact that she can teleport much more quickly around the map. While a perfectly played Sadako will also give enough stacks to force people to carry a tape eventually, this is extremely hard to pull off so the stack feature is not as pressuring as it should be. If she were able to gain these stacks passively as well just like Dredge does for Nightfall, it would help her map pressure quite a bit.

Just my 2 cents on the matter. I'm sure there are things I've missed and I am not making this post to bash Sadako. I think she could use some buffs to be in a much better place. I expect Dredge will be mid to upper B tier at best since he can be looped so easily after the dust settles, but he is extremely fun to play as.

I understand the complaint, and I get the comparison, but if you start off by reducing their powers to 'Gimmicks' right off the bat, it reads poorly.

Imagine a universe where in Dead by Daylight, each Survivor is a unique character. You HAVE to use their three personal perks, plus one extra of your choosing to fill the fourth slot.

[QUICK DISCLAIMER] I'm not saying this SHOULD be a feature before people rant about how terrible the idea is, I just wanna discuss how it would impact the game, I know for a fact that it would probably make the game even less enjoyable.

Who do you think would be the most meta character? Who would be the worst in the entire game?

I think it would be interesting to see how they balance the game around this. Each character would have a very specific way to play them in order to achieve your team goals. This means they'd have to balance each character around their three perks together so that they have a nice, cohesive kit, rather than balancing individual perks.

Kinda wanna have a game mode where this is a thing for a week, just to see how it would play out. This means characters with stronger perks like Laurie also has to weigh the disadvantages of having Object of Obsession and a perk that relies on your fellow survivors dying. David would also have to put up with No Mither in order to use Dead Hard.

Again, not saying this suggesting that this should happen, but what do you think the game would be like if it were a thing?

I don't want the skill of identifying and tracking my opponents perks to be cheapened by survivor hard-fitting.

There is an alternative where each survivor has one permanent perk and 3-4 of their choice, that I'd like a lot more, if only to give those survivors flavor, but still preserve the majority of the core gameplay.

You're not even playing DBD if you play Nurse. Every single killer has to deal with looping and mind games, except for Nurse. You're basically playing cheat-mode DBD.

Feel free to git gud, my dude. I play multiple killers, I play survivor a good deal too, if you have such a skill deficit that Nurse feels like a different game, that's a personal problem.

Looping is what this game is about. So really, maybe the Nurse players need to find another game to play.

Thank God you do not get to pick what the game is about.

  • @Bwsted said:

This has already been clarified in the past.

If it happens during egc, it's fair game.

If it's before egc and it goes on for a reasonable amount of time (team makes a judgement call given circumstances) then it is 100% bannable for taking game hostage/griefing. It doesn't matter if there are other survivors alive who can complete the objective. It's not a requirement that you prevent all remaining players from taking part in gameplay. One is sufficient for an infraction.

Can you show me where that exact infraction is explored? I never encountered that despite keeping up with those topics. Hence, making this topic.

    Ah, understood.

You're either a troll or are advocating for the devs to balance towards the lower-skilled players in the game, something that no game with decent balance does.

If that's the case, ask the devs to release the kill rates at low ranks and see how all killers are "overperforming" and need to be nerfed.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Please don't talk about game balance.

Slow your roll. This is about turning DH off, and you asking to turn Nurse off. Again, you're getting a raw deal on the proportionality of the trade. I'm not here for your Nurse doomsaying. I'm just using those statistics because the usage and winrates are right there and in your face, and you wouldn't shut up about her. You can cherry pick to fit whatever narrative.

    I don't care.

  • @tea said:

  • @Omans said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2991540#Comment_2991540

You can't be serious, can you?

Everyone knows the nurse kill rate is low because she is the most difficult killer to learn. There are many low level players who try her because she is a free killer, and that brings her kill rate way down compared to other killers.

That is common knowledge by now...

Here, great idea to help the "underperforming nurse": reduce her difficulty and reduce her strength at the same time. There, her kill rate will increase and she won't be underperforming anymore.

    Yikes..

Yeah, it is common knowledge and exactly what I was referencing. You don't get it? In spite of players who have mastered her and are absolutely destroying everyone, as some like to claim, she still is the lowest kill rate champion. Must be a lot of Nurses underperforming.

Or, it just might be that there are quite a lot of Nurses at mid-level who don't have good games against better survivors. Either way, she's got the lowest kill rate and if you cherry pick the MMR you're probably not even in, it just looks sad.

Again, DH is present in almost every game, Nurse is in a fraction of those games. Apples to Oranges. You're just targeting a killer you don't have the capacity to beat. Practice up.

  • @Omans said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2991489#Comment_2991489

"Underperforming killer"...? What game are you playing. It certainly isn't DBD against even decent nurses.

At high MMR when I am playing killer the number of times an "OP Dead hard" makes me lose is hilariously small compared to the number of times a nurse decides to win the game simply by existing and learning her to a decent level (she is not as difficult to learn as many of you on these forums claim).

Korean server high Mmr right now is a joke. About 35 percent of games are nurse.

Yeah, Dead hard is definitely in a higher percentage of games, but simply having dead hard does not win a game for the survivor team. Simply being nurse basically does.

The statistics have been released, I am talking all encompassing DBD. Apples. To. Oranges.

Also I'm not going to humor your Nurse lamentations. Have fun screaming into the void.

  • @Omans said:

Remove nurse for the same amount of time and it's a deal.

This game was so much more enjoyable when nurse was disabled for several weeks not long ago.

Apples to Oranges. One is prevalent in almost literally every game. One is an underperforming killer who makes up a fraction of total killer picks.

It's not DC culture, but being unhooked to be taken down immeditely again, or left to slug for a whole minute because of DS fear because a bad teammate wants to farm you is not fun. It impacts how the rest of the game is going to be for you, and changes of it happening again are high.

Why would no one want to pay with someone who is going to throw your game?

Me. I would want to play. I don't go into solo queue with false expectations, and I've never once quit early in anything remotely competitive because the other team impacted my fun. Play the game out and don't queue again. I honestly cannot believe how many people never got this lesson in sportsmanship from their parents.

It IS DC culture, because there is a whole slew of players (The majority of the community) that do not do or complain about this nonsense.

Any tips for optimizing protection hits per match? I have 1200 hours in this game and this has been the most annoying by far as I basically have to play super unsafe all match.

BT Hookrushing, it's already been said but it's worth emphasizing. Put yourself in position for the save as they're going up so the moment the killer turns their back they hear the hook sound. They turn around and you screen for the unhooked and you're going to get one hit everytime (And most likely tunneled).

Aren't lockers only able to be locked once per trial? I thought it was intentional design so the same group of lockers could be countered more than once.

He's supposed to be that creeping fear, but if a locked locker didn't take priority that power creep could come on too fast.

I wished Freddy's Nightmare had this kind of affect.

What you're offering up is an inherently undisprovable argument - if people say they aren't acting in a bigoted manner, then you claim it's because we're being deceitful about our intentions.

That's certainly up to you as a matter of opinion, but where's the discussion? Like others have said, if someone makes a point to demonstrate that they're acting in a bigoted way, BHVR has grounds to action it. Beyond that, there's not much evidence to show that people commonly make a point to target survivors based on any aspect of their identity (beyond playstyle - which isn't related to the character). Arguing based on the speculative potential for it doesn't get us anywhere.

English isn't their first language, I think it's a better bet to try to keep your message simpler. No disrespect meant to anyone with this thought, I just think they're both genuine about their intent, and unable to interact with most of us if we get carried away.

  • So you don't know what anecdotal means, I take it?

    • People complaining about NOED (Not OP, which is why I'm not quoting them)
    • People who have not identified all four of the killers perks and felt it was appropriate to leave totems up or not mark their locations for reference

Those two statements in a Venn diagram create, literally, a singular circle.

They were pretty aware of the flaws of deciding SBMM based around kills/escapes purely was a terrible idea, stated so, and did it anyway. Year and a half of working on the "super smart system" they implemented it. Kills/escapes. Almost a year later from constant complaints did tests, gave data, and made adjustments. They've been working on this for over a year now, the same as SBMM, and needless to say they've also stated that "after a certain number of negative reports we will take action" And since it's automated, it will be an automatic action.

I can think of many ways someone who plays this game in a specific way could eat reports every game, and when the community knows it exists, they'd probably just report anyone they dislike. So we're assuming that this system will be totally super smart, like SBMM, and somehow be capable of discerning actual reports accumulating against one person against not? I'd say you're talking pretty confidently for what very clearly could be terrible, but you're right.. surely the developers are good enough and smart enough to have seen these things, to not be abused, right?

Balancing around kills and escapes is not a bad idea, and also off topic. Not going to invest time explaining why it's better than the emblem system or discussing the current issues MMR has, the "They screwed up this so they shouldn't even try to implement that" Is an old hat argument that isn't worth anyone's time.

The "community" you reference are who we are afraid of.... why? Because we know how the community behaves.

There are TTV streamers who report players frequently for nothing, and on stream. Its literally a meme behavior now for TTvs to report you for winning in a way they do not like they do it live on cam dude.

There is simply no way that any auto-ban feature would not be abused. They abuse EVERYTHING already. If ppl do this to meme on stream, there is no doubt in my mind casuals report players all day long for nothing. Both sides.

Go on YT and dig up false reporting in DBD, its a meme now and they do it all day long

I play a lot of Legion/Twins/Bubba my three mains, ask me why I would be concerned about "auto ban features" based on accumulative reports with no human verification of infractions,

BHVR is aware of every single detail you just pointed out. I promise you. I don't care about your concern, or your poor opinion of the community because, quite frankly, the community is much broader than the trolls and TTV'ers that make you nervous - and again if the system doesn't work there will be a proportional amount of outrage that will induce BHVR into fixing it. That is how the pendulum swings.

What everyone who is worried is considering incorrectly is the idea that the troll reports are going to have weight. BHVR knows there are troll reports, it's in their calculations.

  • Sadly I haven't seen anything indicated BHVR even has an idea to go about fixing it.

It is a daunting thing, because it isn't just communication, it's the idea that many solo queue survivors do not go in with anything intention of playing to win. Hence, potatoes.

Sounds like the best player is the one escaping. Glad mmr is working as intended.

    This.

    - No I don't agree with that. A decent survivor sees a Blight and there's a pallet gym nearby, they'll loop around the pallet and use it. That extends to other killers, except for Nurse. No one sane would try to do that against a Nurse. So pallets against her are useless, because even if used she doesn't need to waste time breaking them.

    - If you're talking about the video, the only resources they've used "efficiently" were their perks, more precisely Dead Hard. Your suggestion to "finding people online" is lazy. You may not know but DbD wasn't intended nor designed to be played in SWF. Plus not every SWF team is gonna be competitive.

    - She's not at the top of the curve, she breaks it. Blight and Spirit are better examples of killers at the top of the curve, cause they have great mobility, a rich and diverse set of add-ons (some a little busted but bearable) and they're still balanced, because survivors don't need to ignore pallets and windows (basic resources) against them, just adapt to when use them or not.

    - I don't need to lie, I might've missed the correct number but it's pretty clear they haven't used the usual amount of resources as they would against any other killer. Sorry but you're the one trying to justify against something that's obvious to majority of the community: basic resources aren't viable and efficient against Nurse.

Okay. You are looking at evidence shoved in your face and outright denying it because you subjectively feel like Nurse must be dumbed down to the same experience as other killers because....reasons? This is over. You do you and have a good one buddy, reality is not on your side.

And since you're not lying, and you did watch the video, then you're just egregiously bad at counting. That's not someone I want to engage with.

I've watched the video and they used pallets twice in the whole match. So you really wanna compare that to using pallets against other killers?

Plus they were all using meta perks and being coordinated when the killer started applying pressure.

Oh boy if only the Nurses I face used just one slow down perk, kudos to the streamer for that, but unfortunately that's not so usual.

I discounted other survivor resources because I'm still talking about solo players, which in my case rarely bring styptic on their medkits, if they ever bring an item. My point is: considering Nurse's basekit and survivor basic resources to survive in a chase, she can easily deny those unlike the rest of killer roster.

How can you not see she's beyond the curve when since her release she never left the 1st place in killer tier lists? Which in my opinion should be a specific tier just for her.

    • So you agree then, not every pallet is useless?
    • Yes. Survivors using resources more efficiently did significantly better against a Nurse using all their resources incredibly efficiently, as opposed to solo queue potatoes flopping around. This is working as intended. I never disagreed that SoloQueue is awful - that does not justify nerfing Nurse. Every single survivor has the ability to go online, interact with the community, and find some friends if they really want to play DBD at the higher echelons. When they refuse to do that they are implicitly accepting the downsides of SoloQueue up until BHVR decides to buff SoloQueue
    • More and more I hope you realize the problem isn't Nurse, it's SoloQueue, as evidenced by you discounting items, add-ons, and perks for Survivor but complaining about the ranged addons for Nurse
    • Someone has to be at the top of the curve, dude. I will gladly accept BHVR buffing any killer up to or past Nurse. You are seeing more Nurses not because there are more Nurses. It's because there's no anything else. I haven't seen Clown, Pig, GF, or several other killers in WEEKS
    • Edit: They uses pallets effectively significantly more than twice that match. You either didn't watch it or you feel the need to lie to my face.
