I did. After the Perk Overhaul, there's no longer an excuse.

Noone, including you, has a clue what the perk overhaul is going to look like, so there's no longer an excuse in your mind, sure, but the rest of us are going to wait till patch notes actually break on the matter.

Yes and I will keep crying about this overpowered killer just to trigger nurse mains like you ✌️

Good to know there isn't an ulterior motive. Like caring about the health of the game.

I didn't see the first one you wrote. But it reads about the same. That this whole idea is just to assassinate the top tier killers. Which is ridiculous. Just because it's "rehashed" doesn't mean it doesn't have any legitimacy. As for what I've said, your first post doesn't argue against any of that. So as for not wanting to explain to me again, you don't have to because you never explained anything. It only writes it off as a way to kill nurse. I don't want her to be unplayable, but as she is there is a problem.

The killers who got nerfed aren't even bad. People just write them off as bad because they aren't as easy as they used to be. The only killer who has really been killed by nerfs was Freddy, but even then it wasn't because the nerfs themselves. His power is just really bad and people mainly used him to stack slowdowns to the point where it was basically impossible to escape.

I am certain that Nurse can be changed while still remaining strong. My suggestion isn't perfect I know that. But it was more of an idea to see how she could better fit the game without being busted.

You're absolutely right. Just because it's rehashed does not mean it has zero legitimacy.

It has zero legitimacy because it's a terrible suggestion and those previous threads have correctly identified this.

  • Buddy, we are on a DH thread, I was using your post to make a comparison, for my point about DH.

Honestly, I'm a little bit envious of you. I could never be so passionate about a game and also have so little interest in improving as a player. Your ability to cry about nurse so consistently is remarkable.

  • @sonata93 said:

It's funny how every single DH thread is anecdotal and tells stories of absolutely amazing survivors who impeccably time their DH so they can extend their chase by minutes. Sure, I know this happens, but I just find it curious that no one every talks about the myriad of DH fails you see or when survivors just do it in a panic and get downed seconds later. But yeah, sure, DH make survivors invincible....

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EnQl0JhI64A

Why is it funny that we're only interested in the use-case scenario where it over performs? Also, people talk about the DH fails all the time. "Well I suck with DH so it must be okay." Is the go-to, cop-out extraordinaire that graces every DH thread and YT video there is.

Not much different than everyone who loves to dismiss all those baby nurses who can't land a blink, with hyperbolic claims of god nurses running around, even though she still has the worst kill rate. Like this guy:

Didn't survivors used the snowmen from that event as a mettle of man against killers during the full duration of it and players had to just suck it up and continue playing the game regardless?

Yes, many killers had a horrible time (As evidenced by the litany of threads created about it.

In b4 most players act like they only have time for 10 games so every game they must pull a mask or their event is irrevocably ruined.

If you want to mald for the rest of ur time playing this then go ahead. I can't stop you.

No one is malding. It's just not a useful skill. Your job is to kill them, not relate to them while they go out of their way to make your game as difficult as possible.

Like I said these people just want to provoke you. It may be tilting but learning to laugh with them is probably one of the best skills a killer can learn in this game. They don't really care too much and probably aren't thinking super deep about it all. It's just a goof for them. So recognizing it as that goes a long way for your enjoyment of this game.

Of all the useful skills that can be acquired in this game, the ability to identify with a team of bullies is not one of them.

How is me switching roles to play killer and actually have fun "stooping a step lower" lmao, unless you're referring to me keeping my survivor flans to use them later? In which case, i apologize for spending BPs on survivors while I'm playing killer, and am so very sorry i didn't use my offering this game and an other batch of players is going to benefit from it :'(

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3002332#Comment_3002332

Saying "survivor during events is unfun so im gonna play killer and so should you" isn't crying about how the event ruined, i've been enjoying it just fine. I'm literally just advising survivors to keep their flans and play killer if they want to get the rewards much quicker (and actually have fun), it's not like i'm crying bc killers aren't farming or dared kill me during an event.

Killers are toxic, survivors are toxic, it's nothing new and not what this post is about. I wouldn't even bat an eye at being facecamped or tunneled any other day, but yknow what yes i'm annoyed when the killer is doing it *because* they don't want survivors to get the rewards, and that they do that every single event yet getting to end game is *still* a requirement for survivors when killers can literally stop that from happening by literally just standing in front of them, making events that require survivors to reach endgame vastly unfun on the survivor side bc some killers enjoy the power trip of denying a reward for no reason.

Everyone here can read, and understood that you intentionally worded that post to show that you're ready to be the griefer. It's cute.

It's also petty, and no one is going to waste time listening to you split hairs so that you come off more innocent about it.

Played my two first games for the anniversary!

First game: Game goes like any regular other match, I find the envelop and immediately gets tunneled to death (the game was also going fine for the killer, pretty sure he actually threw it just to tunnel me)

Second game: Facecamped at 5 gens while the killer BMs me

Pro tip for survivors: Don't spend your flans :)

Even better tip for survivors: Don't play survivor during this event (or any events really)! Killers also get all the rewards for free so that's nice

I'm going to play survivor only for the challenges (and not spend a single flan of course) and sweat tf out of it. If you encounter me as killer it's your lucky day I'll just hook everyone twice and let you go.

Sounds like someone hurt you and you decided to stoop a step lower. That'll show 'em!

Yea there's an event on though that's limited time, I just find it funny how I read an entire thread of complaining about survivors yesterday and people won't bring their cakes because of toxic survivors just to have my first match ever be a hard tunneling mori pyramid head.

Are you saying these people are one in the same, and that's why it's funny? How are you confirming this cross-section exists and isn't even in your head?

I found a suspiciously aggressive Feng, who obviously ended up on the hook more times as a result, afterwards I split hooks evenly all the way up to 12 and allowed the last survivor hatch. You know what I got in post-game? Complaints. I'm a tunneller. I'm dirty. It's an event.

Maybe, just maybe, the people who griped about survivors have every bit a legitimate issue as you do. But everyone is missing the larger point of the event, nothing is guaranteed - especially not your opponents behavior:

This is DBD: Take your BP by force, that is the only way the Entity operates.

  • @Vampwire said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3000583#Comment_3000583

Never said any of that. I don't doubt her pick rate would drop. But as we've seen many of the top tier killers get dropped whenever they aren't busted anymore. Spirit is still very strong. But because she has feasible counter-play now, nobody wants to play her. Same with Deathslinger. He's a killer I'm very experience with and has insane potential. But he stopped being an "I win" killer so now everyone just deemed him weak and unusable. When that's very much the opposite.

Her kit will still be very strong, but just not at the level it is now. Just because she's hard or unique doesn't justify anything. She still breaks the game. She still isn't balanced. Painting any criticism against a killer as just "survivor mains are crying" doesn't do anything constructive. It doesn't challenge what's been said in a meaningful way. All it does is show you're viewing this from a "my side" perspective rather than characterizing what is being discussed.

Fitting, that you would respond to the tongue and cheek post I made, as opposed to my first one, which directly called this out for being a rehashed suggestion. I'm not explaining it to you again just because it's your thread.

  • @legacycolt said:

Yes she does need a rework, a complete overhaul. Take away her teleportation and give her something else!

Read as: This guy wants a killer that's thematically not Nurse.

OP wants a Nurse that never gets picked.

All we need now for 'Nurse Hatred Bingo' is the survivor main that drops in to tell us that she's a training wheels killer that only takes a few hours to get good at - while simultaneously betraying the fact that they've never played Nurse or even tried to practice against one.

  • @Seraphor said:

I don't even play Nurse but I can tell you that would kill her entirely.

What the hell is she supposed to do on Lerys, Midwich or the Game?

Rot. Also, add RDP to that list - but I still rot on that map for the most part anyway.

  • No. The exact suggestion was brought up in and shot down in another thread not more than like....three days old. The Nurse -literally- plays by the same rules. You're using the word wrong. What she has is different mechanics and there is nothing wrong with that.

I still never see Billy in game - but I'm pretty sure that's what most of these rework/nerf Nurse threads really want at the end of the day.

I just don't find it that hard to believe that other players are dicks for no reason? Because in my experience, a lot of players are dicks for no reason, or will get tilted over a non-inflammatory outplay and decide everyone needs to suffer.

There's only a few scenarios where a killer has to slug multiple survivors to death (not just waiting out possible DSes, but to death), and I see no reason to disbelieve the OP when they say everyone was close enough to a hook. The only other reason not to pick them up is if they were all under a pallet - and seeing as the survivors wanted to be picked up and nobody had Power Struggle, I kind of doubt that.

Obviously the slugging didn't happen at the start of the match? The survivors all have a moderate amount of BP, which implies the game progressed for a while until this happened. That's not impossible. I can recall a game that went pretty normally (give or take some hook hitting) until the killer snowballed at around 2 gens left and proceeded to do every dick move I can think of to draw out the remaining survivors' suffering - bled two people out while spamming power over them, carried the third one near hatch but not close enough, sat on hatch until it was clear the last surv was doing generators, closed it, carried that surv to gate, faked giving them a chance to open it, and bled them out like the other two once it was clear they were done playing along. Nobody on that survivor team was BMing. There isn't always a reason.

Sorry still not seeing it, the question of why killers slug has been answered to death. They literally could have found several of these threads doing an even basic search. When there is a lack of context beyond a postgame screenshot for repeats like this it really does appear to be done more for vindication than anything else.

Which coincidentally is something we also see a lot of around here.

People will still bite. They always do. It's the most depressingly predictable facet of this community.

  • I don't think OP provided full story. That's a lot of BP for a killer who only slugged - but it's fun to see the knee-jerk reactionists going, "Reeeeee stop defending other killers!"

This plays out like a million other threads where we only hear one POV and have to take them at their word that they were total angels.

No it's not, we don't know what they doing with the perks yet or if it will change anything or if they have DH even on the list to change. So no sir

Watch the anniversary stream, they were pretty clear about which perks they were looking at. Not only is this thread redundant for the purposes of discussing DH, it offers no new ideas or suggestions. You could have gone to any previous DH thread, seen your suggestion 5 times over, and called it a day.

  • I just don't understand why they didn't take advantage of Artist's theme and use black/ink ridden sand. It could have been the creepiest map by far and they're like, "Nope. Theme Park Beach. Light 'er up."

Also super rare sight not a single DH in that lobby

Lack of DH got me real hard too, as the last group I went against had 3 of them and a SB. I'm convinced the +- on MMR matching encompasses the entire player population.

I'm at the point where I have to bring it, the SWF's that I get put up more than a fair fight and it's either slow them down by force, or watch 5 gens disappear in 4:30. It's obviously overkill for when MMR tells me I should play against a potato.

  • @Huge_Bush said:

I just chalk it up to them being in high MMR. My experience is the same as yours, I rarely see Nurse or Blight, but I admit I’m bad so I’ll never be at High MMR.

I don't think so. I feel like the high MMR players would spend more time learning to play against her, as has certainly been my experience playing as her and against her. I think we only see the somewhat high-MMR bottom feeders come and make these posts. They get to high MMR briefly, Nurse or blight slaps their titties off, and then we see them here.

Did you read my whole post??? When someone dies they get a big speed boost to the gens. How is this punishing survivors? It evens out and allows the killer to go for more chases with less tunneling and camping.

I did read the whole post. It's not about punishing survivors. It's about taking TOO long. No one wants to sit and play gen simulator. Any game where the majority of the interaction is waiting is bad design.

There are also several other design flaws with your suggestion, but none of them matter more than waiting = bad.

  • The solution to making Gens take longer CANNOT be that gens simply require more time to complete. It will never fly. Punishing survivors like that would be a disaster and everyone knows it, so it needs to come out of these once-a-day threads.

It really would help even just from a cathartic standpoint to have some kind of acknowledgement when someone we report gets actioned - I understand why that isn't currently the case, but even a vague "We took action against someone you previously reported, thanks for helping improve the community!" message would do wonders for improving the community's faith in the idea that the system is working as intended.

Mandy already responded to you, but it deserves another mention. It is such a basic, barebones ask, it should cost BHVR little to nothing to implement because the confirmation that action has been taken can ride the same channels the automatic emails do - and it really needs to happen.

  • @Deathstroke said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2998413#Comment_2998413

Game would be better without nurse everything has to be balanced around her. If some perk is made too strong she will became op for example stratruck. She has best power in the game and she does not have to do anything to earn it. Oni has second best but he is very limited on how he can use it and has to earn it. If nurse is fine in game like this I quess oni should start with his power and would still be weaker than nurse. But it at least would make him viable.

There is zero evidence that the game is balanced around Nurse, the champion with the worst kill rate and a very small pick rate.

It is a bold lie to say that with a straight face.

  • No.

What game has online team play and disallows selecting your team?

It's a ludicrous proposition. People who want to get better and have a better experience will find teammates and SWF more. Those who don't will either rot in SoloQ and complain, or thrive in SoloQ and not complain.

  • @Alphasoul05 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2998025#Comment_2998025

And yet, she's one of the least picked killers with the lowest killrates. Evidently she's not as easy as you think because no one outside of already high MMR killers probably play her. A company like BHVR uses statistics a lot, and my guess is their statistics say that at the highest level, where Nurse is deadliest, the kill/escape rates are probably fairly even, because only really good survivors/SWF would be playing those kinds of Nurse's, and she's not as strong as you think against good survivors.

See, a lot of people aren't interested in learning to play against Nurse, or run into a good Nurse to learn how to. It's always funny when a terrible survivor thinks every Nurse they run into is god tier when the reality is they're just bad, and predictable, and would've lost against any killer.

I have been seeing everyone use this weird notion that "Everything in the game would be better/changed if Nurse didn't exist" as a means to justify the state of the game. No Nurse? Oh, better map design, better perk design, better killer design, better everything design. How delusional some people really are to say stuff like that and get people on their side because of their hate for a killer, and how they could be so ignorant is beyond me

The 'X would be better if Nurse didn't exist' is code for 'I have zero compelling arguments but still want to create misinformation that justifies my stance'

  • @Marcavecunc said:

I have more hours on Deathslinger and Blight than I do Nurse, but sure, she can be my main - it's only a matter of time if that helps you swallow your salt better. However, the only thing I'm scared of is your ego if you're allowed to keep posting vindictive nonsense without being common-sense checked. Nurse is not a training wheels killer no matter how badly you cry for it to be so.

Picture this, you have just installed DBD and have decided to play killer (horrible choice, I know).

You don't have any killer unlocked besides the free ones and have even less perks available when you see it.

    No One Escapes Death

As a new killer, you might choose this perk for a couple of reasons.

It gives you power after you fail to defend the gens.

It lets you secure a kill.

    It sounds really, really cool.

But if you have chosen this perk, you have doomed yourself to failure. You have made a deal with the devil for temporary power at the cost of internal growth.

As any one who plays survivor can tell you, one of the easiest signs that NOED is going to be in play is if the killer you are facing is bad. But does this happen?

The answer is simple, NOED may get you a kill, but it was not you, it was NOED. You did not make the survivors have to leave their teamate behind, it was NOED.

NOED is a perk that no good killer uses because the survivors should not be finishing gens in the first place. However, it still screws them over because it messes with BHVR's statistics, making it harder for killers that need buffs to actually get them.

So for the sake of Killer Mains, I hope the perk rework destroys NOED.

This assumes all killers who use NOED won't have or develop the critical thinking skills to decide when it's time for them to move on from, or into, NOED.

    It's not indicative of reality.

You haven't fully understood my post, neither option 1 or 2 are the solution to this issue. That person will still make it to a safe pallet or vault while you waste your time staring at their back or smacking them for that free burst of adrenaline. You're not making any progress, the overall amount of pressure on their team remains unchanged. Option 3 is simply cheap, might as well delete m1 killers entirely.

Lol, my guy. Option 1 and 2 are entirely effective solutions, if the body-blocker isn't packing DS option 1 is not only is it effective but it's OPTIMAL. Either one of them is making it to a pallet or vault, that's how the game is designed. What you can do, for the low-low cost of one weapon swing and blood-wiping animation, is either ensure another hook state or cause the survivors to lose significant time for mending/healing.

Remember, this isn't a 30 second chase leading to a survivor breaking LOS and healing with COH somewhere. This is a 2 second exchange, the #'s are in the killers favor to just start swinging and injuring.

Additionally, if you don't like option 3 - get over it. Players who don't consider the state of the game when making their choices deserve to fall behind.

  • @Canas said:

Why on earth are survivors allowed to use the perk in a way which wasn't intended? The perk is supposed to protect from immediate tunneling and yet experienced survivors are blatantly using it to protect their savior(s) while both make it to safe pallet or vault while you're bound to lose by either not acting or giving them that free speedburst. There is no counterplay to this.

The perk needs to be reworked to address this issue, I see no other way to fix this problem.

    You have options:

    1) Tunnel the body-blocker and make him regret his life choices

    2) Hit the body-blocker and walk through his no-collision ass

    3) Play killers with natural circumvention tools: Pyramid Head, Nurse, Trickster, Deathsling & Huntress (to an extent)

You chose option 4), complain on the forums, the only option where your in-game experience does not improve.

  • Edit: Sigh - Want to delete this because engaging with OP would be useless but cannot delete.

What gets me is people who refuse to acknowledge how broken she is while using said add-ons and certain perk combinations because maybe they're just not that good with her but it feels good to get those cheesy 4ks

Makes you really think like "I'm actually a god at this game" amirite

Am I supposed to be engaged by this?

Which add-ons? Ask the right people and even the yellow recharge reduction add-on violates the survivor Geneva convention.

Which perks? Half of the detractors cry about starstruck agi and the other half 4-gen slowdown and the freshest take on the front page is Dragon's Grip would be buffed if Nurse didn't exist.

The people who play Nurse and don't share your personal experience don't owe you anything, let alone justification for using add-ons that make otherwise unbearable maps, bearable.

I am still waiting for Sluzzy to tell me I am wrong while meanwhile complaining how Dredge is so OP and needs nerf :D

Does it feel good trying to one-up a troll?

    ^ this.

For some reason people think that Nurse being difficult to learn is a justification for her being broken. However, IMO the difficulty is hugely exaggerated, she is the hardest Killer to learn, but it is not that difficult.

But yeah, the Devs being scared is probably the reason why Nurse is that one broken thing from the past which is allowed to exist.

Unlikely. Considering they just recoded her, they clearly had the opportunity to take a design pass on her core gameplay and decided things were fine the way they are. It may just be that her impact on the balance of the game is overstated by people who refuse to put time into learning to play as her, or against her.
