No I won't. It's simply not worth it. I am gonna save them for when I play in my SWF ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I would say that's fine, have fun being that one guy in solo queue with no flans, no exhaust perk, complaining about nurse. ¯\_(ツ)_/.
Edit: My ¯\_(ツ)_/ is missing his hand because he cut it off to spite himself.

I know yeah, I was just saying, because I guess it was just an automatic thought because we're in this thread talking about BBQ and WGLF, lol
Not at all for me. I think there primary effects have value, BHVR just really dropped the ball on Perks + BP integration. Why only one perk for each side? Why not have every perk offer some BP incentives based on getting value out of it? So many missed opportunities to rewards players for utilizing multiple loadouts and playstyles. I would have rather them gone that route, but removing the bonuses from WGLF and BBQ was an acceptable nuclear option.

Its about the fact people like this killer bring the most 'tryhard' stuff and then continue to play like idiots (eg. this guy came back to EVERY hook) to ensure the survivors gain as little as possible while they will happily take the free extra bloodpoints from the survivors.
So are you just going to never play flans? Because that sounds like pretty normal gameplay even when an event is not going on, according to all the complaining on the forums.

You got more than your values worth out of that flan - so I can only assume you're being vindictive. Again.

Makes you wonder just how rough so many killers have it if some survivors truly have such abysmal escape rates.

Here's the maths people 'can't do' that shows why this change is primarily a negative for new players joining the game:
Yeah, I disagree with large portions of that, especially the conclusion. There are justifications for removing the bonuses. No perk should be mandatory because it had a bonus. You will also start seeing profit from the new system much earlier than you conclude (You wrote hundreds, maybe even thousands of hours. So I am assuming you mean 600+ hours. You're going to see gains before then). And this is all still assuming that everyone was grinding with these perks being mandatory, and we know that's not true. Not everyone is using them.
What you are talking about is optimally grinding to get one functional character, and at the end of the day you may be right on that one - but that doesn't change the total reduction, which you've already noted, and it doesn't change that it's functionally a better system with more upsides. If I P1 4 characters with meta perks, on either side, I can functionally play every survivor or killer after minimal investment. You just can't do that right now. Especially killers, who have perk divergences. With the new system maybe you P1 5-6 killers instead for a much healthier perk roster than you could ever get with the same investment currently.
Edit: You commented on some of the killer nuances, but lets be honest you wrote a really large post and these are working hours, so I did my best to scour your thread for the arguments that directly contradict mine.
One more Edit because I have no self control: In your worst case scenario, where a new player doesn't benefit from this system to the same extent an older player does, that only applies if the player IMMEDIATELY stops playing the game after reaching that breakpoint. Let's all hope that these players will continue to play, and the new system will encourage that.

Thanks ! The shack play was 100 % a timing play. That comes from playing nurse myself. I read her corner blink. I knew how long it would take.
I feel like when people struggle, and say things like breaking LOS doesn't work. They probably play her like I did at the EGC. I took my eyes off her and didn't read what they were about to do. Even though she had her whole body turned and was looking for a prediction blink. I would of been safe at the corner but kept going
I watched your entire video, and I found your plays were good sometimes and sometimes the Nurse definitely played poorly, but there's something else more interesting here that I'd like to highlight:
- That ######### was off you for maybe 15 seconds and every time that happened she either scored a hit or a down. Laura never lasted more than 5 blinks. Even if that IS a bad nurse, like others were griping on the other thread, it is clear that many survivors, survivors who could otherwise loop trapper or other M1 killers easily, get absolutely spanked in situations where you didn't. And it's clear here that it's not because the Nurse is good, it's because they refuse to improve/play as her/practice against her
I still believe you can take that mindset all the way up to the best Nurses and continue to improve against them, but seeing it so distinctly against a poor Nurse makes it easier to understand why there are so many survivor mains just absolutely losing their mind over her in the forums.

I know it’s pretty niche, but honestly ever since we got Nemesis I always wondered if we could get a chapter dedicated to the zombies gamemode from Treyarch COD. Specifically Black Ops. Nemmy really didn’t satisfy much and even with Project W as a thing, I’m getting sick of RE.
I personally think there’s huge potential for it. Honestly, it’s a decently large property with a lot of name recognition. Plus, the amount of content to work off of is immense.
BHVR could add maps from any game and it’ll stick. Kino Der Toten is a safe bet for a map, followed by Nacht, Verruckt, Der Riese, Ascension, and Buried. You could get a lil’ wacky and try SoE, Origins, Die Rise, and Mob as a map. Killers could be Brutus from Mob, Avogadro from Alpha/Omega (not Tranzit), and Panzer from Origins. I personally want George Romero but that’s obviously never gonna happen. Survivor could just be Richtofen and that’s it. Literally shouldn’t be anyone else especially after the end of Blood of the Dead fits so well.
If BHVR worked with Activision-blizzard I would drop them like a bad habit. Additionally, they have huge resource issues with their current zombies. It's safe to say they will not be doing anything similar in the future without massive server upgrades/coding improvements.

why kill dead hard? It was literally a last alternative to escape victorious when you were about to go down. it is one of the changes that affect survivors the most. While it now gives 1 second endurance effect, what happens to those who play with high ping, how do you calculate 1 second? That makes the perk useless, plus killers can now break things faster, and the speed boost upon being hit has been reduced.
Knock Out: now all nurse players will enter the game and in 30 seconds they will leave everyone on the ground. You don't even have dead hard to give you a bit of hope. They have really destroyed the game. Let's see how long their changes last.
I certainly do not have the expertise to communicate hit-validation in Spanish, or even English lol - so that's the end of the line for me.

And how would that change if the bonuses were made basekit?
The bonuses do not need to be made basekit. Item economy/scarcity can and should still exist, BHVR does not need us running iri's every single game unless we're seriously investing all of our BPs into one character to pull that off. That would be poor design and if they wanted no item economy, they would've given us addons for free every game.

I agree it was ridiculous we needed to run them. However they didn't address the core reason why many people ran them. These changes are good for completionists and leaves the rest of us high and dry.
Going to have to disagree, I believe once people see it live they will change their tune.
EDIT: Just a post thought about the worst case scenario. BRAND NEW PLAYER. Needs at least 4 perks, sourced from several characters. Let's say Bill, David, Jake, and Meg.
- Current way, level them to 30-40 for the single/additional perks they want and then on every single character they wish to play they need to start fishing, with that work being erased if they choose to prestige
- New way, spend the difference to get them to P1. No fishing but a few more blood webs after that per character. Sheer profit.
EDIT 2: Yes, I realize that a new player would have to do less fishing than a more established player, but there shouldn't be any argument that an established player benefits from the new system.

My Spanish is awful, but - Nurses don't need knockout to slug people. They just need survivors willing to group up.

I assume they're referring to the BBQ and Wglf nerfs. Those are going to hurt alot. Especially if you were leveling for addons and items and not perks.
I get that, but it's largely irrelevant.
- Not everyone runs those perks every game
- No-one is getting maximum value out of those perks every single game
- The grind can and will be shorter for everyone. Those who can't envision it or do the math really should stick around until the update is live so they can see for themselves
Edit: Here's another thought. THE IDEA THAT WE FELT COMPELLED TO RUN THOSE PERKS WAS ASSANINE. I'm glad their bonuses are removed, I want to feel like I have 4 perk slots.

I miss pre-nerf Slinger. He felt so good. Why did BHVR have to go and ruin the feel of a character. :(
All they had to do was slow his ADS by like .10-.15 and give him a 1.5-2.5 second scoping lockout. I'm still absolutely flabbergasted by their decision with him.
Edit: An Entity powered killing machine should be able to shoulder their rifle faster than my white-collar, hobbyist only fat-ass shoulders my .22 rifle. Holy crap.

Thats... what i said. You unlock the perks on level 1 but you would still need to pump bloodwebs to get a higher level.
Which is a fraction of the normal work, struggling just to get the perk to pop up. If you need DH, for example, it could come up after 50+ bloodwebs. Now that won't be the case, as it's already in your repertoire and you only need it twice more.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Deathslinger definitely benefits a TON from the DH rework, as it countered him really hard beforehand but now it's basically useless.

On level 1. If you want a higher level, you need to prestige the origin char or the char you want to have the perk on.
Why? You can just find the perks in the bloodweb after that. No additional prestige necessary.
-
That's not how it works. You only have to reach prestige 1 to get everything you need on all characters.
Edit: You're also dismissing queue incentives. Also, start playing your flans and if there are any perk deficits on your roster you can have them sealed completely before the change is live.
-
It needed the nerf. I would've preferred they just fix the lack of breathing noise and no-sounds when in the dying state, but I'll take this. The perk was too good in literally all situations without any effort from the survivor.
It's still going to get considerable value for the people who run it.
-
@Devilishly_Rowdy said:
Even Otzdarva has said that the new Dead Hard will be stronger in a lot of scenarios, like just pressing E before vaulting or putting down a pallet, guaranteeing a free escape along with a speed boost. That's why we're not seeing survivor mains crying about the Dead Hard nerf because it is actually better in some ways now. It's so hilarious that the devs completely destroyed killer meta perks, but the no.1 most used survivor perk still stays strong. No amount of extra bp rewards is gonna convince people to play killer if this unfairness continues lol.
That's not what he said. That's not what he said at all and you do the entire forum a disservice by blatantly cherry picking without context.
For those that don't know, Otz said he needs to see how it plays out and actually works before he makes a final decision, because he did not understand how several situations will play out.

@Krazzik said:
I don't agree. If you bring Corrupt Intervention, Thana and Pain Res for example, that is always going to give a lot of extra time for the killer with barely any extra-effort on their part. Heck if I am literally afk Corrupt will still give me extra time, and if I just play the game normally the others give a lot of time too. I don't think there is anything wrong with this, but you're overestimating how hard it is to get value out of these perks.
And no, they don't give value for free, but they give value for literally playing the game normally, you don't need to do anything special, you don't need to alter your play specifically to get use out of them, you just play the game normally. Pain Res you could argue you at least have to go to scourge hooks but that's hardly changing your playstyle.
And again, we must be getting different survivors. I would say like two thirds of my games with NOED only get upto one additional down from NOED.
Just to point out, you are literally getting different survivors. This is obvious in the grand scheme of things because survivors with the capacity to handle NoED will not come to the forum making NoED threads.
That's the unfortunate disconnect, trying to explain counterplay to those who don't really want counterplay, they want gutted gameplay for the other side.

Deathslinger Redeemer after DS, Trickster too.
But it always comes back to Nurse.

People really be saying there's not enough time to do bones with a straight face still. 5 Gens being completed in 4 minutes but nooooo bones are too much.
This is why they increased gen time instead of giving survivors a second objective. Because all it takes is half a brain or Derectives Hunch and NoEd will literally never get value in a match survivors are winning - but that's asking too much.

If you can activate,DH that might be more effective.
The problem I'm talking about is that the Nurse can knock you down before it blinks animation show on ur sight,
Do u understand what my picture above telling u?
I understand you have latency, based on the above pictures. Nurse's blink has plenty of queues you can use to time your DH.
And yes, you can activate DH in time. It's frequently touted as the only thing holding nurse back in every 'Nerf DH' thread in existence. So clearly, there is a consensus that it works.
-

You know what, DH only had a 20% success rate against my old rival Top Nurse on the server. U couldn't activate DH before their blink animation showing to u. See my picture above
Point? It's arguably more effective against Nurse now, I'm just holding that opinion until I see some PTB results.
-
@pharos said:
Dev seems to forget they have an out-of-spec killer called Nurse
Think what the future holds, u will play against Nurse with Jolt without cooldown + Soopy butcher + Thanatophobia and other fantasy perks , and u need 90s to do a gen basicly , once u get hit u need 45S to selfcare. Otherwise, the next time the nurse sees you, you're basically waiting to lie down.
Nurse can fly through all the map ,hit one surv and then back to the hook repeatedly. No one can unhook and the gens can not fix .
This is the biggest problem of the game
You only need 45 seconds to self-care, if you choose to use self-care. DH remains effective against Nurse, and it is likely that their statement in the notes that kill rates were too low applied to Nurse as well. Especially given information they've realized in the past about kill rates.

You underestimate how desperate some players are to keep themselves healed.

Needed change. Look at what Spine Chill does to killers like Deathslinger. Survivors wanted more chases now they're getting more chases.

I play solo q, it's the only thing I do in DBD nowadays... I use spine chill, iron will and BT... Spine Chill helps me with awareness and information that I don't have as a solo player. Iron Will helps me with chases or to do things while hurt when you are a solo player and you don't want to take Self Care with you. BT helps me save other solo people or SWF with an impression of safety. The first two have now been destroyed. I guess it's just quitting for me since my friends got tired of this game long ago...
You can always find new friends on the forum and/or experiment with new perks and playstyles. You know, rather than doomsday prophesying before you even get a chance to test out the update.

Exactly, High MMR is full of those players. It will be horrible... once again.
Killer mains did not like it, they will hate it even more now.
Funny, devs wanted to break the META perks, they have reinforced this one that will be in every kit now.
Those players don't exist. Survivor's that use DH with perfect timing for a non-lunge, on their butt killer, were using a script that timed the execution of DH. They will continue to use it this way, but every other use case will improve for killers.
That is acceptable for now.

While it was always a high usage perk, no one brings it at the top level because it wastes way too much time to heal off of it. Now, new survivors will be spending around 40-45 seconds healing.

It was brought at top level, all the time. The devs mentioned this in the update.
Edit: I'm late to the party, clearly, I just have a knee-jerk reactionist attitude when I see falsehoods that could be corrected by reading. I should have read. I am the hypocrite I so often point out.

The issue is more that the strong campers can both instadown or rapidly mow down the rescuer while also drilling through the endurance effect. Bubba's multi-hit, Trickster's knives are my immediate concern.

I'd be happy to see rescue grabs completely done away with too.
Basekit endurance off hook comes with a haste effect now, which I am assuming is at least additive with being hit. I'm pretty sure in the new scenario the hasted survivor will actually be able to outrun bubba chainsaw after the first one ticks their endurance off.

They are saying that killers got all buffs and basically the killer meta is basically the same, when in reality most of the issue perks and slowdowns got nerfed or counters added to them the only perks that can be seen as true buffs/nerfs cancel outs are overcharge and off the record, overcharge being the new go-to slowdown perk and off the record is the new ds annoy killer perk. And people called me a biased killer main, who should stream 24/7, just to prove, that i don´t hand select screenshots of my high escape rates...
