Spirit trolls are just the same nurse players. And if those pretty easy to master strategies work, why do nurses still 4k and when people apply them they dont work? If those strategies work why is nurse still the 4k stomper of tournaments?

And if u lose against players of "same skill" as yours, maybe you're not as good as you think you are?

More evidence-free rebuttals. Man, I can't help you.

In the second video, it's illustrating a point many of us try to make. In the first couple minutes alone: survivor is for whatever reason still on a 50% gen when the Nurse is within 15m of her, proceeds to get hit over a window on a basic attack, and then runs back into the Nurse. A series of genuinely awful plays. You have to play well on survivor to escape Nurse. That doesn't mean she's broken, but it unfortunately makes her a bit unique.

If killers every properly get buffed soloQ is in for a very bad reckoning about what it means to play well.

Yes that is my opionion and as i told in pregame chat (Lobby) quite a lot share this point of view. That many just endure and accept an rid. op killer does not mean they follow you. And i explained in details why nurse is op. But you can watch the vid Gratxia posted and read the comment below. Then you will see its probably not a minority. And the more you write the more i get the feeling nurse is your main killer when you play killer.

Everyone comes up to me and says, "Man, nurse is broken. She's the most broken killer by far. I know all the best people and they all tell me the same thing."

If that's your argument it's not worth taking seriously. I responded to the vid Gratxia posted, it was a poor example.

Yeah, let's just find every excuse possible, If the nurse gets the 4k is because "She's perfectly balanced and survivor were bad" but if she gets completely destroyed is because the SWF was so OP they out skilled her but not because she did mistakes.

Most of those "Counters" isnt gonna work against a good nurse cause they already expect it.

These counters just remind me to what the spirit mains used to say:

"Just vault the window, and vault it back"

"Just dont fall for the mindgame"

    "Guess where she is"

    "Double back"

These never worked against a good spirit and that's why she got a well deserved nerf.

These aren't excuses, no matter how hard you try to frame them as such. Nurses, mine included, lose all the time when matched against survivors of proper skill and coordination. We also win all the time when immature survivors DC and spoil the efforts of their team.

The difference between Nurse and Spirit is that the Spirit trolls were wrong, and she was nerfed. These strategies that the Nurse players recommend in every one of these damn threads do work, all the way up to comp. They're the very same tools we use to beat Nurses when we're playing survivor.

No you dont get all. As a solo survs i only have problems with the nurse. All other killers are fine even if i like some not that much but they are fine. The Nurse isnt and its because of her gamebreaking mechanics. Do not misunderstand me. As a solo its even harder but also many swf dont want to play her.

All other killers are fine, except Nurse, because you say so. Got it.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2uywpN-tn0

I tried not to use "TOP 0.1% Nurse videos" cause we all know those are weird to go against, but regular nurses that we go against most of the time (with op ######### like starstruck, 4 slowdowns, slugging builds, range addons or endgame builds)

This is evidence? Survivors allowing a Nurse to autopilot because they are:

    • Running in straight lines
    • Fast vaulting right infront of Nurse who doesn't even have a blink charged
    • Never ONCE doubling back or changing their angle on the second blink
    • Actually, I think I saw a single player double back 2-3 times, yet even he seemed to have an allergic reaction to using LOS blockers properly
    • Sitting in dead zones when it's very obvious the killer has BBQ
    • Running into the Nurse for no damn reason

This SWF couldn't beat Nurse, they couldn't even beat Pig. And still, we are at an impasse because a single game does not constitute evidence. It never has, it never will. I don't know how to make that anymore black and white for you.

And now I genuinely believe you're trolling. Those survivors were utter lemmings.

We will see how things go on. I will do my best and i will even use Lobby to discuss this topic and to encourage other survs to do something or to take part in this discussion. BTW i had matches were after first dc the next followed a few seconds later. And its not immature to stop if a challenge is not to master at all esp. if you are a solo surv and victim of this rotten mmr. Then it shows intelligence to quit and save time and nerves.

And you just highlighted something no-one will disagree with. SoloQ is a problem. That's not a Nurse problem.

Dont get me wrong, DH needed to be nerfed. And DH had as much evidence as nurse has right now to be nerfed.

It's just that the same 5 nurse come from the wood to defend their op toy like if their life depends on it.

Feel free to present that evidence. We will be waiting.

You are assuming I don't have 1,000+ hours as survivor and 1000+ hours as killer. Again, this is something that should be addressed to improve the survivor experience. Survivors and Killers both deserve to have fair and fun games.

You can have as many hours as you want and still be incorrect, biased, and narrow minded.

These are not mutually exclusive ideas.

Yes and i am free to buy dlc/auric cells or not. I am also free to dc or to hide until nurse realize i cant counter her. But here we could talk and discuss about it. And ofc this can haven an impact on devs/publisher. e.g. 50% of all survs dc when they hear the blink. What will happen then? Players have some power too. They just have to use it.

50% of survivors will not DC on the first blink. Not everyone is so immature and unable to compete. Again, a incredibly small number of people shitposting over and over does not make for a compelling argument.

  • @Gratxla said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3037490#Comment_3037490

It worked for DH, hopefully it does to nurse. Any nerf is well deserved on her.

You're missing the part where there was multitudes of evidence to the rampant, overused nature of DH.

Key word, evidence. Not one offs of petty survivors DCing in an attempt to inflate the kill rate of a killer they don't like.

Of course Im able to insert into the Killers head, I play Killer too, lately Ive been playing it even more than Survivor because Solo is hell and I dont have any friends playing this game to make a SWF, I play Myers, Jigsaw and Deathslinger, Im perfectly aware you get Mother's Dwelling you are in for a world of hurt but guess what? I still dont camp because I dont dont enjoy it, I still perform well enough tho.

I still believe people who defend camping as "ITS THE ONLY WAY!!!" without really offering any alternatives are not going to stop doing it and they actually enjoy it, mainly because it gives them wins, there is a player profile "Spike" who gets gratification only when they win no matter what, those are the people who tend to chose the path of less resistance, Spikes wont stop camping until camping is less rewarding, they enjoy it because it gives them easy wins against Solos.

The new changes just made it even more rewarding since Survivors now need more time to fix the gens so camping will be stronger ergo those folks will camp even harder. Lets see if all those threads about "ITS THE ONLY WAY, GIVE US BETTER TOOLS, MAKE MINI-POP BASE, MAKE REGRESSION STRONGER, MAKE CHASES EASIER, NERF DH FOR DISTANCE" were people speaking the truth or just people lying to justify themselves.

P.D. Feel free to throw this whole conversation into my face in a few months (assuming Im still playing this game), I will gladly eat my words.

If you say you're able to insert yourself into the killers head, but then make it about you, I'm going right back to my last response: It's not about you.

Plenty of alternatives have been offered, BHVR just hasn't seen fit to make those alternatives a reality. Like I said, this is not a new topic.

Edit: You highlighted all the changes to the killer side and not the survivor side, there is a very real possibility that OTR plays so strongly that killers feel they still need to camp, in spite of the gen and DH nerfs.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3037398#Comment_3037398

I'm not the best Nurse so i personally favor a Slowdown over an additional 12 meters on my exposed AOE when carrying, could totally see where a good Nurse would prefer Agi tho!

I know for a fact that 4 slowdown is stronger then Starstruck or Starstruck + Agi, CURRENTLY. I am not sure how that will play out post patch, but I definitely feel that if you're gonna run starstruck at all, you should be putting on Agi. It makes the build. I would just recommend not playing around Starstruck if you can't find the room for Agi.

Edit: For Deathslinger as well, as I looked at your recommendation for him as well and he's a piss-poor slowboy too.

  • Starstruck without Agitation? That's a passarino for me.

Its not defending it, its they way people defend it, as I said, I understand doing it in certain circumstances like EGC or 1 person hooked, 3 fluttering around the hook, I wouldnt criticize camping there, but when people defend doing it from minute 0? thats because they are enjoying it, you dont need to camp to win especially not against Solos, I dont camp, I win plenty of matches and I play Myers mostly yet they defend its the only way.

The whole "I wouldnt camp if I didnt have too..." argument is a bit moot, people lie a lot and while there are threads like those they usually end up swarmed by the "camping is the only way!!" crowd, the ones who dont really want to change it but they feel like they have to justify themselves.

Lets see after the base change mechanics like extra 10 seconds per gen, less CD after extra attack, less sprint after being hit if the people keep camping or not, my guess is the vast majority of campers will still camp, I wish I was wrong but the community has shown plenty of times they will always go through the path of less resistance and camping being made stronger will justify it even more.

Are you able to insert yourself into the killers head to understand? Some may be trolls, others had several bad games in a row and now they're at their wits end on maps like Eeyre, Badham Preschool, and Mothers Dwelling.

I think it takes quite an ego to assume all these incidents of facecamping aren't just part-time killers without the proper toolset and long-time killers not burnt out from W'ing over and over across gigantic maps. But just like you have a different experience as killer, I would say it's not about you.

It's not necessary to find a solution for this when the Survivors are in an unwinnable situation. Drain everybody's timers faster but the person with the most time remaining, who can attempt to crawl to a hatch. In the case that a Survivor doesn't have ANY perk at all to help them wiggle off faster, to charge their wiggle timer while downed or second chance perks, there is no physical way for anyone to get up. It is a video game. People are busy, we have jobs and limited free time. The exact last thing this game needs is more timewasting and meaningless waiting around to bleed to death in a completely unwinnable situation.

Your suggestion of magically mindreading Killer intent and that being a requirement exists only to detract from the argument in a meaningless way while still not contributing any suggestions of your own. You don't want this to happen, you don't care if your questions actually make any sense to ask.

Survivors being in an unwinnable solution is a personal problem. You clearly want your fix without considering the consequences. This isn't a discussion or even a good-faith argument, it's you demanding the game play around how you feel. It's not about you.

Feel free to afk if bleeding out has harmed your personal time constraints. Or DC.

My question makes, literally, perfect sense. The OP understood where I was coming from and said they will respond later. I don't owe you anything if you can't understand why measuring the killers intent, for the purpose of a frivolous fix, is necessary.

  • @HectorBrando said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3037223#Comment_3037223

Sadly thats not the mindset of the majority. Just look at this forum, how many people defend camping?

I understand camping during EGC because there isnt much to do but when people defend camping and tunneling outside of very concise situations its because they are enjoying it, I play Killer too and I dont like camping so I almost never do it, I would never defend camping as a valid general strategy because I dislike it, people who reason its the only way to play dont even care to ask for fixes, they always defend how much of a valid strategy it is, not how in dire need of changes the system is.

Defending camping and enjoying it are two completely different things. Camping creates pressure when other tools fail, because it forces survivors to come to the killer - it does not mean it is enjoyable.

Edit: You are also picking and choosing arguments. There are plenty of threads where people justified camping and explained what they would need to no longer camp. This "people who reason its the only way to play dont even care to ask for fixes" is utterly false. There are a littany of threads that contradict you.

Nurse can be pallet stunned and juked at pallet just like any other killer, so I'm not sure what you mean.

If you actually care to see and learn, here's another forum user's upload. Go to the 58 second mark. The chad stuns a Nurse mid-blink, dumb techs her, and gets away. He is running no exhaustion perk. The Nurse ended the match with two hooks.

P.S. - I can tell other people don't really want to hear the truth, because the video has only four views after me suggesting this in yet another "Wah Nurse!" thread.

I could see also how this feature would be abused in certain circumstances, but it's still pretty simple to check if any living Survivors have a second chance perk like Unbreakable or DS when all 4 are downed, or even just the amount that are alive.

You could check for that and if all second chance perks are unusable and in the case that a Killer just flat out refuses to pick anyone up despite an availability of hooks, you could make the bleedout timer shorter. In cases where slugging is actually intentionally abused by a Killer just to make a game boring for all Survivors, it would be decently easy to check for this happening and at the very least end it faster. If the Killer decides to pick up and immediately drop a survivor during this time, they could receive a free wiggle off if he was trying to pause their timer instead of hooking them.

It would be a somewhat simple anti-trolling feature for the rare cases that Killers try this and Survivors can do nothing.

You still have not offered up a way to determine the killer is willfully not picking someone up.

"Do you think Killers enjoy face camping?"

Seeing how rampant it is and how much they gloat in the forums and postgame chat, yes I do believe they enjoy it.

I could only give you my personal feelings on the matter, because unlike OP I do not speak for an entire swathe of the community, but as a competitive player face camping is a last resort that means the combination of map/survivor strategy left me with no other options. I'd much rather actually play the game.

No you don't require qualifications, but you certainly aren't owed an explanation or the essay I'm writing out for you now. You're not in a position to demand from anyone anything and you are certainly not holding any potential feedback hostage with your awe inspiring authority. You are just a guy. You are pooling information like all of us.

So please, random guy on forum, enlighten us with your far better suggestions on this which so far appear to be "don't put this change in the game at all, also I'm not willing to consider any good reasons for this or to look at how my own argument might be flawed, please do it for me."

    Calm. Down.

I'm not putting up a suggestion because I don't believe there is one, and I agree with the current system. The time to bleed out is adequate and fair to both sides. Your impatience is not a factor in balancing.

  • @Sheridan_LT said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3037110#Comment_3037110

Uhh you are not a developer and you are not in any position of authority. I don't really get how your heart being in this is the one thing to turn this into a legitimate issue?? Do you really think developers listen to you a lot more than they would any of us? What are your qualifications here?

How do you intimately know the exact side effects every feature being implemented would cause? How would a lack of this feature help out in an unwinnable situation for all 4, say. All 4 get slugged. None of them have Unbreakable. They MAY be able to wiggle out of the Killer's grasp if they're in a single cluster, but maybe the Killer is clever enough to just slug them anyway to not risk that.

So in an unwinnable situation, no one can help and everyone is going to get hooked, how is this too crazy?

You don't understand the expression 'in a heartbeat'. I'm not taking the time to explain it, this has nothing to do with my heart. I don't know what the devs are doing, and I certainly don't require qualifications to respond on this forum, but it's very easy to figure out why Devs DO NOT make certain changes that have been thrown around forever on the forums. Because they are bad suggestions. This is not the first time this topic has come up, and it won't be the last.

Spoiler alert (Since I know you won't do the bare minimum of checking out those topics): The last time this came up, the people who were pro-bleeding out faster were not able to put up a compelling litmus test for how the game can determine the killer was genuinely BM'ing, either.

It appears you aren't able to either, so unless you're willing to actually respond to the crux of my argument, you do you, but don't expect me to respond to your word salad again.

  • @FlameLickVA said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3037077#Comment_3037077

If the killer slugged everyone and chooses to let everyone bleed out, they can hook everyone but choose not to, for sadistic reasons.

should they really wait 4 minutes?

If the killer can’t find and hook everyone in a minute once they’re all slugged, then the match should end, killer wins, next game.

    4minutes is a long time

The only people this change would punish are the sadistic killers who want to ruin peoples’ matches by slugging everyone to death

    • How do you measure the killer choosing to do this, versus it being out of their control?
    • The killer doesn't always slug because they want to, they should be penalized for some survivor crawling off to some obscure corner of the map?

If you show me how to measure those things accurately, I will take your side in a heartbeat. Until then, survivors do not get this power.

  • This won't fix slugging, and it's not a good idea. Survivors do not get to decide what is considered an appropriate amount of time for killers to find and pick up their slugged bodies, because as we've seen time and time again they refuse to account for the variables the killer has to account for.

I want everyone to see these two responses to my forum post. I didn't say anything inflammatory about killer players, yet I immediately get attacked as if I did say something inflammatory about killer players. I asked to not make this an us vs them thread and it immediately becomes an us vs them thread. I even said I'm glad the developers are looking at helping killer players.

There are issues survivor players are having, they need to also get addressed.

I did not make this us vs them, nor did I attack you. Calm down.

  • @Gindaen said:

First off, lets not make this an us vs them.

Right now, about every other game I've played, has become a face-camper or tunneler at gen 5 and I think that most survivors are experiencing this now as complaints have started really piling up on these forums and from other survivor players I've engaged with. (I don't want to see killer players explaining why they think killers are doing this because that is subjective and changes from player to player).

Disconnects are going up, suicides on hooks are going up. Survivors are enjoying this game less and less.

The developers seem to be trying to fix the issues killers are having, which is great. There needs to be some work on the issues that is killing the fun of the game for survivors.

You've got 45 posts and you decided to speak for all survivors. Are you saying that killers aren't complaining too? Are you saying that complaining on the forums is the proper metric to measure satisfaction? Do you think killers enjoy face camping?

Just seems really weird that it appears the hill you chose to die on literally sits next to a similarly sized hill for killers.

Yeah easy fix. Don't worry about fixing the broken perk that makes it so awful killers can get to high mmr. Just cleanse every dull totem! I want to see a video of you cleansing every dull totem on midwich and see how long that takes. I'm sure it's super fast and not an issue at all.

Jokes on you. I've memorized midwhich and I turned off noed on it twice before it ever spawned. Because:

    1) I identified three perks the killer had and made the correct call that they were most likely fielding noed

    2) I checked the totem spawns on my natural pathing to gens/evading the killer and circled back

Essentially, as a single person the only time I spent on totems was the actual cleansing totem.

Sorry I don't have a video, but this isn't exactly a hard pill to swallow for the better players, as they recognize that doing bones isn't hard, or even that time consuming.

  • Seemed like a genuine attempt, and while I don't agree with it, it does have some good points and appears to be a fresh take. Did it really warrant that response?

I think the devs can have the data to back up too which is almost no one using it. Only the bully SWF of RPD.

SWFs use map offerings all the time. No clue how you missed that memo. Many map-centric killers (Pig, GF, etc) use map offerings too.

You don't have proof MMR isn't working and by all accounts it is working exactly as intended.

There's plenty proof of my statement, but there isn't any proof of yours. There have been tournaments where none Nurse/Blight killers have won and we know that's the best against the best. There have been a lot of streamers who have done Otz's challenge, and pretty much all the well known streamers are high MMR.

However, you don't have anything backing up your points.

It's literally on the forum dude, it was also on the front page of DBD when you logged in for quite some time. Reality is there even if you bury your head in the sand.

Of course we can, he's not playing sweaty 24/7, he'll lose just like normal person.

And on top of it, there is a fact MMR aren't working for 99% of time, so if you seriously think his weird matches proved something you are literally wrong.

All it prove is he can casually win against some randos most of the time, and that's all.

He's not salvageable, he's just glazing over reality at this point.

Otz is definitely high MMR. I don't think anyone on these forums doubts that.

Dude. The MMR isn't working. There is an extreme soft cap and population disparity that consistently causes players with 200 hours to go against players with 2000 hours. BHVR has admitted that there are issues.

    Comprehend this and stop.

  • The same people, rehashing the same tired arguments that have already been addressed.

At this point I'm genuinely relieved that BHVR doesn't balance around the loudest voices because those voices lack originality, or even critical thinking. They just screech into the void, far louder than Nurse has ever screeched.

Well, the reason is that for some reason they consider Nurse perfectly balanced. Besides, my argument was either Nurse, or her addons. Its kinda similar to the Mending thing on Legion. The addons were working as intended by code. Nothing was "wrong" with the way it worked, it was an oversight that gave Legion uncounterable gameplay that was extremely unfun to go against. I'd argue the same is true for Nurse right now. Except, they now have a kill switch, they could easily alliviate the complaints by temporarily locking the addons causing the issue, at least untill the event is over.

Your reason is wrong. Again, no one should have to explain to you. @MandyTalk has explained the killswitch and it's purpose multiple times. The addons have been confirmed, by the devs, to be working as intended. The moment they decide that is no longer true they will either slate a fix or killswitch it. No sooner.

    Here's a PSA for you:

I just had a match in the Game against a new Hag. Claudette apparently has a problem with this, and runs to the Hag to get herself killed ASAP, standing in front of her and throwing down pallets in our faces.

Guess what? She succeeds. She's out and we still have four more gens to do.

And we do them all and easily get out, because it was a new Hag on The Game! Just play the match, maybe you'll surprise yourself! Do something cool, stick to gens if you hate the killer so much, literally anything, just play the game if you're going to boot up the damn game.

I am convinced there are a large portion of players in soloQ who are so undesirable as human beings/players that they literally cannot find an SWF, and that is why they are there.

Crappy personalities and crappy player ability.

Another gigantic bug affecting killers... what a shame. At least it's kill switched, we wouldn't want sabo squads sending killers to coal tower and forcing the killer to only have basement hooks now would we. Then we'd have to punish killers if they decided to DC or be toxic if they managed to slug...That being said, when are we KILLSWITCHING Nurse for making every other killer weak? When are we killswitching Garden of Joy?

    Calm down.

    He can't stay as is.

I find a pair of survivors on a gen, get the snipe drop from a good range, barely pull Haddie in past the Bill who tried to bodyblock for her, and got a swing and hit.

    Nice!

She ran me for 4 gens. The last gen finished as I picked her up to hook her. At that point, I just dropped her, opened the gate, and stuck my nose in a corner.

(BBQ, No Way Out, Nemesis, Rancor. No addons. Flan. Ironworks of Misery.)

    ----

His move speed is too punishing; especially for his terror radius.

Same with aim speed. Projectile time. Reel speed / chain strength. Time window for survivors to react. Missed cooldown. Reload time.

All of it, combined, makes him feel bad and slow.

What he really needs is an admission from the devs that they ######### up.

Friend. Anyone on this forum knows sluzzys posts are satire. Are you serious right now ? 🤣

Legacy has openly admitted that he goes out of his way to try and tilt Nurse players on the forum. He's literally another sluzzy. Looking at it through that lens, his fact-free posting style makes a lot of sense.

    Not intentional at all.

A dev commented in a post a week ago, and they had no idea about the change (bug) that happened to these addons.

They also didn't know about the animation bug that popped up at the same time as this bug "fix" patch. The one that makes the nurse damage you before she is shown as either finishing her blink or even raising her weapon.

This dev said they have not been recieving reports about this bug despite myself and several other posters in that thread saying we have reported it.

They have no idea what to do with nurse, so please don't claim they do.

Show me the post because I've seen the posts where they confirmed the range addon speed was NOT a bug.

They know exactly what to do with Nurse. They literally recoded her. It's in the patch notes.

An idea I've seen passed around is the idea that Nurse bottle necks game balance, because of how powerful she is. All perks have to be scaled back due to her disregard for game mechanics. Is there a way to solve this issue? Is Nurse a balancing issue, or are people over reacting? What are some of your suggestions on how to keep the idea of nurse while realigning her with the basic idea of how the game works?

Think about it from a 30,000 foot view. One killer, with a low pick rate and the lowest kill rate, bottlenecking the entire game? I COULD believe that. You know, if Behavior didn't decide to recode Nurse and intentionally buff the ranged addons.

I would prefer if they hadn't buffed the range addons, and I'm hoping she doesn't get that Wraith/Deathslinger whiplash at the end of the day, but it's pretty obvious that if Nurse was bottlenecking anything, BHVR had a prime opportunity to resolve it and chose not to.
