Twice now I've had perfect connection for an hr then it died for a few minutes, then back to perfect then died about and hr later then back. Didn't get back on after the second time. Sometimes life decides to throw **** at you.
Sometimes that's just how the cookie crumbles. My penalty suggestion isn't perfect. It's utilitarian.

Well first off probably should be a universal thing less every soloQ cries out like the damned (we are damned but still).
Secondly how far would it go since they cant a dc from a internet failure from pulling the plug. We (or more accurately I) dont want a 30+ min bad because the cable company is incompetent and unstable.
Anyone who has an internet connection also has the tools to test their internet connection. If you DC once due to natural causes, you shouldn't queue again unless you're sure it won't happen again. A spotty internet means take a break, don't inflict that damage upon the rest of the players.
Given the above, I don't really see it as in issue. It should really be something like 10, 30, 120 minutes. Repeat offenses usually mean a player with bad intentions.
I would use a word much stronger than 'usually' save for someone will inevitably show up and complain about their internet and swear up and down it's not their fault and that they're not responsible for monitoring their connection.

I also like the any means necessary buff it actually is useful now which brings more perk viability on the table.
After much deliberation, I've determined this is IronKnight's alt.
You can't change my mind.

{Our draft got deleted so were trying again}
Slinger's versatility comes from being able to continue chasing while reloading effectively not having a "time out" (or if you wish to be technical, has multiple short time outs while on the go). While slinger gets 1 shot and has to reel survivors to get a down (for injury he only needs to hit the shot) he doesn't really need to manage his ammo, only his time.
They do still exist (most came out to play a few months ago for some reason), and we're still laughing.
There's far more nuance to it, however. He's not just taking multiple time outs, he's getting resetted mid chase anytime something goes poorly, sometimes even when things don't go poorly too - the difference between a missed hatchet, dagger, and redeemer shot is quite extreme in terms of the distance a survivor makes. But unlikely the others, even when he lands the shot there is multiple ways in which he's punished for it by, you guessed it, more waiting.
This is one of the few scenarios where I would promote homogenization over diversity. Moving some of Deathslinger's waiting to before or after the chase would be better design, even it made him more like Trickster and Huntress.
Writing that makes me want to throw up.
They could also instantly appease me, in spite of my current issues with his design, by adding several QOL adjustments like:
- Normalizing his sensitivity while shouldering
- Moving some of the time on his shouldering/unshouldering to instead having a lockout period so he can't spam it (The guys been using the rifle his entire damned life, why is he slower than literally anyone with a few hours of practice on a .22 LR?)
- Terror radius rework. I don't care what the tradeoff is, good survivors know they can W him to death. Take something else and let him actually be the stealthy hunter he's supposed to be
TLDR: Poor Billy mains.

I don’t either. I usually have somebody down in the first 30 seconds of the game, so it’d be a complete waste of a perk slot.
Lethal Pursuer Nurse, I only believe in getting into chases and staying in chases.
But if he's about to blow my mind I'm ready for it.

You're pretty much throwing against good players if you don't bring Corrupt and they're playing to win. Not saying it's anyone in particular, but there's a *strong* overlap between killers who complain about gen speeds and killers who insist Corrupt is a bad perk and refuse to run it.
I haven't used Corrupt since the rework. What am I missing here?
I don't fall into this Venn diagram, but if I'm sleeping on CI better late to the party than never.

No, that did not seem like the point. To be honest. The times I can count on people saying a person on being low mmr facetiously I can count on a single hand. I re-read your comment and I genuinely read it sincerely again.
Yes, it is subjective. It really is. There is almost nothing objective in this game. I think slinger feels fine too and none of those things bother me or make me think he feels clunky. If you think he feels clunky for those reasons, it's fine. It really is. But stop acting like it's an objective fact that applies to everyone. I only have a handful of time on him before his nerf, and I actually agree with the nerf to ADS because it did feel bad from a survivor perspective - but I agree wholeheartedly with Ben's statements. I don't even think his increased TR nerf even really matters, personally, and I think I can take it or leave it.
Do I have things that annoy me with him? Sure, but that's just QOL stuff.
The same goes with billy - I think billy is FINE. I say this as a (former*) billy main. A lot of people think overheat is a negative, where I think it's objectively a positive thing and forces you to get good at his chainsaw, and once they buffed the engravings to not heat up as quickly, I can't even remember the last time I overheated that wasn't on purpose. His rework also introduced lo-pro's which are arguably one of the best designed addons in the game and one of the most fun addons to use. Now if we want to talk about how they "fixed" skybilly - that is something we can agree on. But my perception of billy is probably completely different for you.
I think wesker feels really clunky - I think he feels bad to play as, and against. I think the grab window is just a wee bit inconsistent. I think the large TR works against you a lot of the times, if you are going against 4 stealth players. I also think his power just overall is so damn boring. Skill issue? Perhaps. But he's pretty much universally received as a solid killer but I just don't see it.
But going back to the skill comment, I actually think it's a more valid comment than "oh you are just low mmr" for a lot of situations. This game takes skill and there are various skill floors and skill ceilings in the game and I think some people genuinely have a skill issue with things and just try to shut conversations down with what you said (ie 'low mmr!'). Whether or not this applies for you, I don't know. I have never even seen you play a game.
* unrelated to his power, I think he is boring now because I'm not challenged enough and to be frank, the good teams that play around double engravings are so far in between. so me and billy are on a break and I hope to find enjoyment in him again once mmr is more accurate, if that ever happens - but even then I'm still left with rng.For the Skill diff/MMR comment - again, the point is I never once complained about my ability to perform with Deathslinger. It was inferred incorrectly because I'm complaining about aspects of his design.
For the rest - you wrote too much and you're really on this subjective train when these elements can, in fact, be quantified much like OP already has. You do you.

While we agree that rage quits have spiked (actually had a killer rage quit recently even) it's not like there's much we can do. Where would we even start?
Could start by significantly increasing the penalty when a SoloQ'er DCs. If you're in a 4 man stack, the other 3 people have the option to reprimand your behavior by choosing not to play with you anymore.
Could also increase the penalty in general. It won't stop the behavior, but it will curb the frequency significantly. I don't think anyone believes it can be stopped entirely - but it is way too frequent as it is.

Huntress and trickster can run out of ammo during chase and either have to drop chase or reload during chase. Both move at slinger speed. Is this also bad design?
Also this is personal opinions here but billy deserved it.
They're both far more versatile in how they can employ their projectiles. I dislike some of the waiting they have, for sure, but they're not the same as Slinger. They can both reload the entire stock of their power after their chase, and they can both wield their powers far more consistently during the chase as a result. The tradeoff is if they mismanage their resources mid chase, they have to take that timeout or chase powerless. I think that's fair given the sheer projectile count they have, at least when compared to Slinger. We will likely never see Trickster buffs because of how strong his camping is.
The Billy mains would be very angry with you if they still existed.

Quick note: Terror radius music usually has 3-4 "tiers", which dictate what plays at certain distances, so the music playing at 30m is different than if the killer is standing right next to you.
Every time you hook a survivor for the first time, gain 1 token.
For each token, reduce the range at which the terror radius progresses by 15/20/25%
Basically, at tier 3 with 4 tokens, a killer standing next to you will still sound like they're in the distance, which can cause survivors to be more careful even if you arent approaching them, and might leave a gen in fear that said killer is actually approaching.
I like this. There are not a lot of effective deception perks. That should change.

Ugh, so I had a long thread written up on this and our cat attempted to eat my keyboard, and I lost it.
So, short version:
I see quite a lot of survivors, or people who play both roles like myself talk about win rate and escape rate, as if they were the same thing. I know I often think of it the same way. I get camped, or tunneled hard and get killed - but 2 or 3 others escape.
I go 'ugh, well, I lost, tunneling is an auto win for killers rawrglblarglrawrgle' and get annoyed.
Thing is though - we won. Or at least fought it to a draw.
Because the survivor win state cannot be 'I escape'. That's...basically expecting a flawless victory every game.
I wonder if, maybe rather than trying to 'fix' tunneling or camping, we should instead look at ways to reward or I guess compensate the person who has to sacrifice themselves for their team - because, as things stand, the biggest problem to me about being hard camped or tunneled is that it's often an unavoidable depip and a waste of my time, for almost zero BP.
There's also a weird quirk to this game in that neither side has any sort of official 'win state'.
The closest we have is the 'Escaped' notification when you get out as survivor. For killers...ugh. Is it a 4k? A 3k?
Personally, I try to see my win state as pipping on either side. On killer, I also try to see my win state as giving the survivors an entertaining match.
Thoughts?
You are underestimating player selfishness. These kiddies are not capable of vicariously enjoying their teammates survival.
But I like the idea and I wish reality was different.
Maybe a Stat called 'Assists' that you earn for dying when your teammates escape. Rack up enough and you get cosmetics or some nonsense.

I don't care about kill rates. Not one bit.
I care about the delta between 'this match was fair and I could have won that/lost that' and 'this match was silly, and I can't think of a way I could have won/lost that' stomps.
Stop survivors from quitting out of any match that isn't going well, incentivize them to stick it out with better scoring/BP returns on losing games.

It didn't die when killers were horrible.
This.
I don't want any kills after the first survivor DC'd. They've already lost their value.
There's nothing worse than getting into a match and knowing in the first 60 seconds that it's either:
A) I'm going to lose no matter how hard I try
B) I'm going to win no matter how little I try

I believe Dead hard is much more balanced than before, but why people still complaining about it? I don't think it needs another nerf. Is it?
Its skill expression has been moved up the MMR ladder, but an argument could be made for it being too strong. It's popularity would certainly support the claim.
My only gripes are:
- All the goddamn waiting
- How script kiddies can mercilessly abuse this perk
Edit: And having to treat all survivors like they have it. Someone else already pointed it out but that's still some nonsense.
-
After 2 DC's the penalty should be so severe that the person cannot play for the rest of the day - Furthered by increasing penalties if the trend persists.
I don't care if a bot replaces the person or not. The moment a pattern is established that player is a bad-faith actor who is single-handedly ruining games, they should not be permitted to continue.

Agree with everything you say but would like to add that it would be nice if maps were actually balanced to be fair with less “god pallets/windows” and more 50/50 pallets.
I understand that the strongest killers would have to be brought down in power if it happens, but I’m okay with that.
I'd willingly put Nurse and Blight on the threshing floor if it meant the maps got the pass they desperately needed.
It's not going to happen, I am fairly sure at this point that BHVR is intentionally using poor map design to prop up the current DBD experience.

So, if DH does get nerfed and becomes useless or completely reworked to be something else entirely.
Killers will have harder matches in general for the majority of players.
I think DH is so popular for survivors just for the fact that it is strong and fun. If everyone just leaves DH and goes for SB, say hello to the hold W meta.
Most survivors just can't get consistent value out of DH and if they all switched to SB, killers would have extremely hard time catching them, as they could always take the killer to where they want, when they want. Making chases way longer since survivors will get a stronger start.
I felt these after a week of trying out SB over DH after months of getting used to the new DH, learning strategies, more favorable situations, baiting.
In the end, while i definitely feel like DH is the more fun perk because of the interaction it gives to the survivor, i honestly feel like i am way stronger with the safe SB.
And Killers will hate it, talk all you want about counter, there is no countering SB you just deal with it.
This false talking point was brought up before the first DH pass. After the dust settled, we still saw plenty of DH's and only one person created a thread complaining about SB, the thread appeared ironic.
SB is not the better exhaustion perk, and it requires a lot more skill and knowledge to get more value then "OH I SB'd at the start now you have to take a few more seconds to catch up to me."
As opposed to, you know, DH providing multiple ways to reset a chase completely.
