Well then, why don't we talk about the time you insulted my intelligence and claimed that Hens' words "Would be lost on me" and refused to elaborate, forcing me to go to Hens' channel and dig up the clip myself if I wanted to hear any of what he actually had to say (And you wouldn't tell me where he said it until I asked you)? Or how you decided to take a dig at me on stream while you were asking Hens your question?
If you're gonna be this spiteful over something as simple as game balance, I can see why you're not interested in talking much further.
His words were, in fact, lost on you.

And you, along with your fellow Nurse mains, have posted wall of text after wall of text attacking my character, insulting my skill, claiming that I didn't respond to certain talking points when I clearly did, and taking every opportunity to berate and degrade me, even when I'm not present. But it's all justified when your team does it, right?
I had the spine to admit that I was wrong. I've tried to be as cordial as possible. I've taken the time to explain myself in detail multiple times, even when I had to repeat myself. I cited my sources and used full, direct, verifiable quotes, giving you every opportunity to prove me wrong. But oh, I was wrong on this one specific point, so now it's all intolerable and everything I say is invalid?
If you're not interested in having a good-faith discussion on Nurse, just say so.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3329871#Comment_3329871
So what solution do you propose to fix this issue with the playerbase? Because fighting against the playerbase is usually a losing battle. It's hard enough for Survivors to learn how to loop normally; learning how to play against a Killer that throws all the conventional looping mechanics out the window on top of everything else is asking a lot, especially considering it's hard to even tell what good play looks like against Nurse. Because even the best Nurse loopers still get caught anyway in a pretty short timeframe, what with her being god-tier and all.
Nurse is just one of 30 Killers; having high-level play revolve around her chase mechanics and nothing else is a jarring experience to say the least, and I'm sure it discourages a lot of people, particularly people who have gotten good at conventional looping, from getting into competitive play.
Sorry. I don't care about the slights you've experienced from other forum goers, feel free to call them out. I'm talking about your behavior, you can do your two wrongs calculus with someone else, too.

Fine, I went and looked it up (Glad to see you took the opportunity to badmouth me behind my back, by the way). Even asked him myself right before a Knight match on Garden of Joy. To paraphrase slightly, he told me "In theory, it has no counterplay. If a Nurse is trying to kill you, you're going to die unless they're omega-boosted, but the same is true of a NOED Bubba tunneling you. That doesn't mean there's no counterplay. You can counterplay a Nurse, she's just really strong."
So, fine, I was wrong. I will not claim that Nurse has no counterplay whatsoever. But that doesn't mean she's fine as-is, so let's move on to other talking points, shall we?
Such as, Nurse is too strong. Luckily, we have an easy fix that would hardly even require any new code: Spasmodic Breath basekit.
Nurse's counterplay is tilted too heavily in her favor (Pre-nerf Spirit comes to mind).
Nurse ignores too many gameplay mechanics (If Nurse knows where you are and is within ~24 meters of you, she can hit you, very quickly and consistently at that. No exceptions. No other Killer can claim that).
You took a single statement from a normally very objective streamer, turned it into hyperbole, and then argued that hyperbole as fact even after getting called out and then dragged out the interaction pointlessly.
I'm not interested in your moving goal post.

He slugged me so he could get a 4K. LOL
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it, did you guys ever do it? Or did it ever happen to you? hahaha
Bubba queued up for a game, where he would get only a single kill if he did not pursue both of you after two people DC'd, sabotaging his game too.

Really? Because I just looked at Hens' latest YouTube video and I can give you the full quote, one that you can go look up yourself, right now, in the video's description: "On a high level, the only way to counter Nurse is to die in the right spot away from generators."
I can substantiate my claims with more than just hearsay. Can you?
Really. I went into the stream and asked him, because why take your bastardization of his quote at face value when I can get the answer straight from the source? If you don't believe me you can look up today's VOD, he was playing Freddy on Swamp when I asked him, you shouldn't have trouble finding it. You know, if you insist on assuming I would make it up.
Because that is what you are doing. You are latching onto a single quote, exaggerating and distorting it, and then parading it around as the end-all answer to this discussion.
Projection really is self-incriminating.

Comp players would disagree. So what makes you think you know better than Hens how to counter a Nurse?
By the way, I literally just asked Hens if he believes Nurse has counterplay.
"Absolutely."
He elaborated further, but it's clear it would be lost on you.

I've made it clear multiple times now that Nurse is not unbeatable, but there's a big difference between lacking counterplay and being unbeatable; see pre-rework Legion.
So, again, stop misrepresenting me.
You are the only one misrepresenting. There are plenty of counters to good nurses.
Heck, they're not even great nurses. How is this getting passed you?

Then you haven't been paying attention. A quick search yields plenty of other people using the term "macro play".
If they are tilted in her favor they are not COUNTER plays. Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. They're not counters. They're so-called "counters" that are rendered irrelevant against a good Nurse.
You and everyone else defending Nurse in this thread seem to willfully ignore, misrepresent or misunderstand practically everything I say, because to do otherwise would mean admitting just how much truth there is to what I say.
As long as you keep representing "good Nurse"s as an insurmountable, uncounterable monolith, the entirety of your argument is not just disingenuous. It's wrong.

When the gameplay of people like Hens is brought up, tournament-winning players who say that Nurse has no counterplay, you don't care.
When people explain that the main reason Nurse can be challenged by good teams has nothing to do with learning how to chase her and everything to do with good macro play, you don't care.
When people point out that the Flashlight buys you an extra 2-3 seconds at best against a good Nurse, and that a Medkit would save you more time in the long run, you don't care.
When people point out that the top comp players in the world say that there's nothing you can do against a good Nurse but work on your macro play, you don't care.
When people point out that the existence of bad nurses doesn't prove anything, you don't care.
When people point out that a good Nurse has basically no counterplay, you move the goalposts and claim that all that matters is whether or not she's viable, or whether or not you can win against her.
When people point out that Nurse's main limitation is that it's only physically possible for her to dish out so many hits in a certain timeframe, and that good macro play is the main form of "counterplay" against her, you don't care.
In short, when people point out the many, many obvious flaws in your reasoning, you ignore/dismiss it and act like you won the argument anyway.
Can you show me where Hens said Nurse has no counterplay?
I'd find that kind of limiting, coming from him. You know, given his massive winstreaks with his team (And also his more genial nature which implies he'd never say something so ignorantly divisive when his own experience runs counter to it)
I also suggest you stop repeating the phrase 'good Nurse'. It's not helping you.

Since we finally got a “practice” mode, I decided to test how fast Nurse can actually traverse the map. I tested how long it took for Nurse to blink from one end of midwich to another, and then tried this with Trapper to compare.
It takes them both the exact same amount of time. Next time anyone says “but Nurse has a teleport”, remember this. Now obviously Nurse will save time on multi-level maps, but her map control is overall average (read not good, since maps are too big.)
We have brought this up in the past and have been, as you could probably predict, completely ignored. The people out for Nurse blood can't comprehend good faith arguments.
This is no different than any other vendetta (There are people still losing their mind over Dead Hard, for example).
But have an upvote for highlighting it again :)
Edit: We have even pointed out that the perception that Nurse's traversal is too fast can almost always be attributed to survivor's greeding gens. If you started running after she blinked onto your screen as opposed to when you first hear her terror radius, well, then you've already disrespected her more than you should.

Survivors don't like the killer doing X things because it's unfun/interactive/no counterplay.
Killers also don't like survivor's doing Y things because it's unfun/interactive/no counterplay.
Both sides agree to limit/minimize doing these things, and the end result = everyone is having more fun.

I mean, Part 1 is slow and definitely the weakest. It does have Dio and Speedwagon tho.
Part 2 has Joseph which makes it automatically good. Also, the Pillar Men.
Part 3 is a classic. Also has DIO.
Part 4 isn't my favorite but Kira is a great villain.
Part 5 has a lot of good characters and I love Giorno.
Part 6 is more philosophy based and gave more depth to DIO.
Part 7 and 8 are absolutely ######### wild.
Me and my friends live for Joseph and literally every single thing he has ever done.

I've played another multiplayer game where scroll wheel can affect gameplay. In that particular game, if all things are equal, the scroll wheel user wins 100 times out of 100. That shouldn't exist in a multiplayer/crossplay game. Scroll wheel Hags shouldn't get free hits either.
Go watch a 5 minute YouTube video about how you can safely trigger Hags traps.
And then never complain about Hag again. There are better fights to take up.

we are not using "HE TUNNLED ME!!!" as a Safe word to justify Surviver Griefers Sabo hooks right in killers faces Body blocking duos and trios All beaming the killers face and just followin the killer around trying to make him DC. often times Some Killers will tunnle the strongest survivers out of the way so they can turn the tables of the match and be able to easier pick off the weaker survivers. and Tunnleing of weeker noobs is a little toxic but still puts preasure on survivers if they are left with 3 people to work with ona 3 gen game. one could also say that (TUNNLEING) is just as TOXIC As Survivers sabo hooks in killers Faces and Body Block duo and Trio Trolling with Flash Lights. it jsut turns the whoal Match into a Cluster F-CK by turning both sides into toxic players. AND PEOPLE WONDER WHY KILLERS SLUG? Maby its cause there so ######### tired of Trio body blocking sabo sqwads that take turns blinding killers when 1 is picked up and body blocking with dead Hard BT and other perks. that creats almost an endless loop of pickup block pickup block pickup Block FOR 20 MINUETS. and i Main both survier and Killer. and i dont have fun griefing killers. yes i may blind them occasionalyl and locker juke for funny clips. but i try not to sabo hooks and body block in front of them cause i dont want to ruin the fun for them. and as Killer im so Tired of these Toxic Survivers. a couple days ago i had to let 1 guy bleed out on the ground as Knight and use guards as BACKUP just to camp this one guy so his 2 other buddys would stay in close proximity not doing Gens with only 1 guy doing gens. so when he died. i got the other guy hooked him mori him. then i went and got the 3rd guy. and the Last guy got the Hatch. I HAD TO SIT AROUND GUARDING THIS ONE GUY to get a 3K. because the Tools survivers have today are to Strong compared to the Tools of 2018. its RIdiculess and just Apalling of how BROKEN THE BALENCE IS. and a tiny bit is a skill issues but 60% OF IT IS A BALENCE ISSUE. And the NEW MORI SYSTEM Makes things EVEN WORSE. Making NOED to Strong in the End game were killers can down all survivers and get a free Win instead of 1 of the 4k slugged having unbreakble to pick thems elfs up tap heal there buddy and escape. let alone compleatly destroys endGame collaps Deliverence PLays. and the fact that survivers can pick thems selfs up HArdly any killer will win a ######### Game cause everyones picking them selfs up and body blocking and flashlight blinding. just an endless cycle of "I get knocked down but i get up again your never gonna keep me Down" its to OP for Surviver AND KILLER. what in the heck are the Developer THINKING? have they Lost there way of how to balence a good Game? like #########. you Never want either side to be to Strong or els they have to much of an advantage were a cheating griefer wouldnt even have to use a single cheat at all. instead of a joyride like it is now. IT BE A CAKE WALK. just how things are changing and the Stupid desicions have pissed me and alot of other people off. and it makes me wanna Quit DBD. like just Shelv the Gmae forever or till they FIx these Iissues. it has been so frustrating

Field of View, or FoV, is the degrees of your First-Person View cone, or how much you can see. 90 FoV is a 90 Degree cone. Since Video-games have been a thing, Motion Sickness has proven to be a significant barrier to a fairly large portion of people. Lots of people cannot play certain games due to their Graphical Style, their Speed, or...
Their Default/Unchangable FoV.
Some players, who have Motion Sickness issues, cannot play video-games that have Constantly changing, or Low and unchangeable FoVs. This poses a really big issue for Dead by Daylight, as it is one of the only First-Person games that i know of (on Killer side) that does not Provide an FoV slider.
The only way players have to increase their FoV to a point where they dont get motion sick are the perks Shadowborn and Monitor & Abuse. Monitor having the issue of constantly-changing FoVs causing problems for people who get motion sick from such things, and Shadowborn taking up a perk slot, so that if a Player REQUIRES it's use, they are short of a perk.
It shouldn't take too much thought to realize that this is an issue. Players being unable to play a game without the use of an in-game perk should NOT be a thing. I'm sure BHVR is very opposed to accessibility issues as well, as (even though it took a while), they implemented Color Blind settings for those with that issue.
What disheartens me the most about the recent devblog post is that they don't seem to realize this is an issue, and that an FoV slider could provide relief to this problem. They've made what should be a setting into both perks, and a mechanic, and I don't believe this is good for the long-term health of the game.
I know that Reworking/Removing how FoV functions relative to perks and Blind Angles would be hard, but I think that letting players access the game without having to worry about getting motion sick is more important. Players being unable to play the game has been a big issue for DbD, as those who are Deaf don't have a visual terror-radius indicator outside of the perk Spine-Chill, and the whole issue with motion sickness and FoV that I've been writing about for half an hour.
It's important to recognize that the implementation of an FoV slider for Killer is of upmost importance for the accessibility of this game that's beloved by many. Hell, I've had many ideas on how to Change/Rework the perks associated with FoV in this game, and would gladly see those ideas taken so that FoV finally becomes what it needs to be:
A Setting, not a Mechanic.
You should've started with the last sentence. I agree with almost all of it.
-
As long as the DC penalty remains in place, I'm fine with any bot-supplemental solutions they come up with.
-
I'm not going to be running this. The best survivors know to W the moment they hear the terror radius. They will not be in range of this perk.
I would also argue that the best survivors also bring distortion, because nothing wastes a killers time more than a survivor who knows what aura perks they're packing.

incorrect as usual, you really are big on one rule for you and a different rule for everyone else. leaving the match is not against TOS, hook suicide is not against TOS, they are both enabled within the game, slugging is also not against TOS, but if you're gonna repeatedly slug someone, that's pretty grief, BM, however you want to phrase it, you're deliberately attempting to cause someone distress and remove their gameplay, holding them hostage, to the point where they disconnect - how can you not see that's completely BM. you admitted these intentions quite openly.
you and your little 3-man echo chamber can sit there passing round the copium, telling yourselves you aren't terrible, while the community keeps repeating 'solo queue is in the worst state it has ever been'. i wasn't the one that said 2 wrongs don't make a right lol, though it's true, you BM'ing players is not justified by them giving up. you must enjoy kicking people when they are down. malding lol i have a beautiful head of blonde hair, hbu?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3246834#Comment_3246834
it can be small-minded to instantly hook suicide, yes, but such can be the mind in moments of distress. how does it waste other peoples' time? you still get a game against possibly 3 players that still want to play, and the fact they actually want to play means they will probably play better than the one who doesn't. so you are saying then that you subscribe to the philosophy 'he ruin my game me want spite him back!'. in that case, you called yourself small-minded. i found it a bit funny that out of all of this, that's what you took. i think i had even written that part before i saw that you had posted something i hadn't read, so i just tacked in that one-liner above the paragraph to which you refer.
if someone had a string of bad games against weskers, blights and nurses and then they get another game with yet another one of those, found with lethal pursuer in 15 seconds and downed fairly quickly, i think it's quite foreseeable that they might think it's hopeless. nurse audio cues apparently are enough to make a lot of survivors feel hopeless already. maybe more like Lamoore said, if you want someone else's take on the same issue. if it was only those who consistently do it over and over, who i think are really the rare cases, then it would be fine, but you can never know who those are, and the penalty system punishes people immediately even if it was just their internet dropping.
some games have no restrictions so i don't know why you would fantasize that all games have strict penalties like that, only a few do really, and none of those games are such unbalanced griefing sims like this.
You didn't comprehend what I wrote. Which is unfortunate because I explicitly wrote that hook-suiciding and afking, get ready for this important piece: In order to circumvent the DC penalty.
That's literally what this thread is about. Did you miss it?

so either way then, we can assume a thoroughly unenjoyable game. the way you diminish those things to insignificance portrays the callousness of your attitude. in truth you are looking at even less blood points than you state for staying in a stomping as you suggest, or more if there's actually potential to make it into a decent game.
so why do you think people should just accept that lose-lose situation surrounding their entire game, not even just the microsituations you killers always whinge about 'oh boohoo i had to get slapped by that pallet i had no choice he used dead hard for distance'. people quit late in matches too, i've seen survivors throw away 40k blood points because the killer did them dirty at the end, for example by slugging and leaving them on the floor while they search the entire map for a 4K. i think people like you just see a DC/suicide every game and think it's always someone who does it every game but the truth is mostly that people will do it once in a while due to bad fortune, BM and the overall state of the solo queue experience. the assorted DC's/suicides every game is because it's a terrible experience, thus it is so common for people to want out.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3246484#Comment_3246484
you seem to ignore the psychology of the game. if there is no competition, there is no game, so creating unwinnable situations and then insisting that people are obliged to suffer and waste their time is truly absurd. letting yourself die on hook is a game mechanic that you are avoiding to purposefully keep someone in the game.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3246545#Comment_3246545
you lack understanding, unsurprisingly. you're definitely in the wrong to BM people by slugging them, that's just sad.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3246600#Comment_3246600
sounds like the game was already challengeless if the player already lost the will to play.
so now then how exactly does one person giving up ruin the game for each of you, who seem to care so much about your own game and not even remotely about other peoples'? if people are giving up so fast because the game feels hopeless, does that not show fundamental problems with the mechanics of the game, and why is it so common, and why can none of you see beyond the immensely small-minded 'he ruin my game me want spite him back!' the running theme throughout all of what each of you say 'when he BM's it should be a BAN but when I BM i should be celebrated for enforcing the game's intended way of playing!'.
is your standard for other peoples' gaming experience so low that they should accept having no fun and being just annoyed as the standard for gaming? why do you want to impose a different standard on other people than you want for yourselves?
Firstly, I'm not BMing, and until you put forth some evidence beyond your efforts to pervert my words I have no interest in exploring that further.
Secondly, if you're still not processing, one thing is directly against the TOS and that's why there's a penalty when it's done the legit way (traditional DC). The other thing, the thing you're malding about trying to spew that 2 wrongs don't make a right nonsense, is literally gameplay canon.
It may be that you can't reconcile this, but thankfully we don't need you to. Everyone else can.

hard for anyone else to judge aside from the person trying to suicide, given that if the game is over for them, how hard do you think they will try after you decide to force them to stay? they will probably cause problems for the survivor team even if they go afk, i have watched my teammates try to heal afk players numerous times and then get slugged themselves, so be honest, you just like having the extra survivor to give you an advantage, right? a free slug without even needing to slug them.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3246266#Comment_3246266
slugging is one of the biggest problems this game has, i rarely saw a hatch spawn for weeks and DC'ed out while slugged in 2v1's several times in my final weeks on the game. you call it sarcasm, but the underlying truth is, you are so full of yourself you would never even consider his opinion, or anyone's, because you have already decided that everyone else's opinions are beneath yours, and that you can do whatever you like and treat people however you like. i'm sure you are well aware of the advantages to the killer, as i have stated above, of keeping a deadweight survivor alive, so don't bs and claim it's just for some ficticious noble goal of teaching people a lesson, as if that's even your place to do. much disrespect to you, for your complete lack of empathy.
I don't see anywhere in your response where slugging is 'wrong' in the context it originally appeared in.
If you need to go off, well, go off queen. There's still only one wrong here and that's the people skirting the DC penalty and trying to reframe the argument as anything other than their personal temper tantrum.

Guys, look here, someone cherrypicking a single sentence removing all the context of the entire post!
I still stand by that notion. You can buff gen regression perks massively if they are treated like exhaustion perks. Overcharge starting at 100% going to 500% over time? Not an issue anymore since Call of Brine cant be stacked ontop of it. Ruin being at 300%? Doesnt matter that much, cant be combined with Pain Res and Jolt. Pop stacking power instead removing up to 100% after 5 hooks of not kicking a gen? It cant stack with CoB or Overcharge, so the overall slowdown is less. Thanatophobia reducing generator speeds by 10% per injured survivor? Cant be used together with Ruin, so overall its fine.
Genspeeds in general arent an issue anymore. Its the perks dealing with gens that are. On their own, they are often too weak to do anything significantly, giving you reasons to run more than 1. But then you can run 3, and at that point, especially for survivors without comms, its overkill and basically a guaranteed 3k.
Seriously, how could you possibly be against that idea when it opens up room for more perk variety while in general having the same regression as 2 perks combined? You could still run perks like Ruin and Call of Brine in the same logic that you can use perks like Dead Hard and Balanced Landing together. They simply no longer synergize.
I don't know how you got an essay out of my comment.
I also don't know how everything you managed to say ended up being completely irrelevant and missing the point of my post.
But here we are.

of course because you could never be wrong amirite?
Feel free to tell me where leaving someone slugged is wrong after identifying they intend to die on hook and turn the game into a 3v1?
We all understand that DCing is wrong, hence the penalty. Obviously, taking steps to circumvent the penalty like hook suiciding and afking are also wrong.
So your sarcasm is cute, but it's a deflection. There is no wrong in showing the brats of this game that they need to take the DC penalty if they want to spoil the game for 4 other people.

I only see one wrong.

Calm down professor, people are allowed to have different opinions and there’s nothing you can do about it. Using fancy words doesn’t help you win over people either
Oh boy.
If that's what you consider fancy, I have news for you.
Or I don't, because you wouldn't understand it.

I have better things to do with my time than write a 3 page essay on why I think the animation parodies aren't that funny and why I dislike the creator personally.
But thankfully, a lot of it can be summarised as "Comedy is subjective, and it does not appeal to my personal taste."
There's a difference between what you wrote here and what the edgy boys at the top contributed.

Having a differing opinion on a piece of media does not make you neither edgy nor a contrarian.
If the language is vague and demonstrates no objective criticisms, sure it can. Really, just looks like bandwagoning.
A less astute person might even suggest it's because some of the topics (like DC'ing behavior) might offend the same people that inspired it.
-
Look at all these contrarians being edgy 'n #########.
I found them entertaining and worth the time they cost me.
-
In every team game that has ever existed, the selfish person who throws a tantrum and quits early is a brat. That remains true even here.
It has nothing to do with who I am. We all learned these lessons as children.

and that kind of thinking is what makes the in game community what is currently is. its pitiful to see both sides act this way
Hardly. Providing a brat the incentive not to be a brat is about the only positive impact a killer can have in an otherwise immediate 3 v 1.

It's probably the closest thing to BM I do as a killer. If there's five gens left/beginning of the game and you try to suicide on hook right away, I will put you on the ground and leave you there.
Whether you DC or lie there, you're getting a time penalty if I have anything to say about it...
My stance. I'll go out of the way to make the slugged tool see the other survivors get their BP.

With all respect, the Devs dont know what they want their game to be.
Well, if your opinion hinges on dismissing them in their entirety, that's one way to go about it.

I would love her. Tho, unfortunately, I tend to role play and would probably end up getting my teammates killed.
It's all about the framing, you're just giving your team a lore accurate secondary objective.
-
To summarize my opinion, I will not buy a game if I can't buy it on steam. I know that sounds extreme but it's miles ahead of every other platform. I refuse to support origin, epic, and even the blizzard launcher can go kick rocks.

No, because tournaments try to bring a competitive environment to a party game. DBD-Tournaments are basically a different game compared to the actual game. Tournaments are not comperable to public games at all.
I know that you are trying to defend your point that Killer is soooo hard, but even for you, this is really reaching for straws here.
This thread is awful, but calling DBD a party game is old hat.
The devs have chosen the direction of this game and its fairly clear they want the game to be competitive, that's the whole point of MMR.
KYF is the only aspect of this game that can he classified as casual, and it's a small fraction of the game.
