She does ignore structures. As a survivor your resources against killers are windows, pallets, teammates taking hits (not taking into account perks and medkit add-ons). Against her every pallet is useless, vaulting windows can backfire if she reads it and bringing her to teammates will give her a lot of pressure.

Don't take me for a new player, I've tried a lot of ways to counter her, but a good Nurse, with strong add-ons can adapt her play style and offer minimum (if not zero) time to react.

https://youtu.be/NpECkjf-Ejo?t=175 - Here, pallets working on one of the best Nurses several times in a single game. Stop spreading this lie. They also work for me against Nurses. They also work against me AS Nurse. I am sure I could find you more evidence but I really shouldn't have to.

Plus you're not getting the point "Nurse with strong add-ons (range + recharge)". This discussion is about how strong she is with slowdown add-ons and perks in solo queues.

Saying other killers have more mobility than her must be a joke.

There are several killers with more or comparable mobility to Nurse. I don't know how to help you if you refuse to do the test I suggested.

You talk about her Add-ons as if they always exist, so why in your first response you discount Survivor items when mentioning their resources? These are weak comparisons.

Then why use him as an example?

Not much point continuing this argument as there is no evidence that will ever change your mind. I mean, you do have a nurse for your profile pick.

All we can hope for is that they find a way to make the other killers actually viable and then deal with nurse afterwards.

I used him as an example because it was appropriate? That doesn't mean I forgot how MMR works, dude.

Several ways to change my mind - statistics, BHVR changing their mind and nerfing her, to name the first two. There's a reason they recoded her and she's still the same Killer. For once, they get it. But yes, feel free to discontinue this conversation it is damned exhausting.

Edit: Yes, she's in my avatar. I also don't complain about Dead Hard. I also don't complain about BM'ing, I also don't complain about 99% of the things other killers complain about on this forum. I have NO CLUE why you harp on yours and my forum creds.

So you are telling me that every killer can ignore structures and looping orientation just for the sake of it? That every killer can apply exposed and quickly snowball? That every killer has huge mobility like her?

I've played her a lot of times and it's ridiculous the difference between playing against solo players and coordinated teams. Facing a Nurse is pure luck: if she's a baby she'll get destroyed but if she's decent/good with a busted build she'll simply destroy solo players.

I don't know why the first reaction everyone who dislikes Nurse makes is "She ignores structures". She doesn't ignore structures.

She gets screwed by them. All. The. Time. Play her more.

Every killer can apply exposed, it's not unique to Nurse at all. It isn't even Nurse basekit.

Not every killer can quickly snowball, half the roster is useless and this is a piss-poor comparison. Nurse shouldn't be punished because other killers need a buff. Those killers should be buffed.

Several killers have better mobility than her. Try basekitting across Ormond and Mother's Dwelling, then trying walking/using the powers of the rest of the roster.

Nurse is the most affected with this crappy system, I love when I'm staring at a survivor's forehead and the aim dressing adjusts my camera 1mm to the side and makes me hit the corner of a box, feels good, ah and there's times where my hit gets randomly denied and I hit the wall behind them, but that's just another problem...

I was grab validated at a loop and THEN Aim Dressing made me miss. It was actually so gnarly I just stood there a while computing how badly the game wanted that survivor to get away.

Her design is broken by default. It simply doesn't make sense a killer that can ignore chase mechanics. I main Huntress and even tho she can apply pressure to multiple survivors, she's still loopable and balanced vs solo and swf players.

I understand players who put a lot of time and effort on her should be rewarded. But imo it takes too much to even try to counter her and honestly I wish she'd get Spirit treatment. Still strong and rewarding but balanced.

News alert - All the killers have different chase mechanics. You just don't like hers because there's less carryover from your experience with other killers. Go into customs with a Nurse player, who plays survivor while you play killer. You will learn - real fast.

  • @ZinoRyf said:

Being kept hostage in this game is one of the worst thing about this game. I feel like after survivors opens the gate and the entity timer starts, the killer should be able to concede the match and end the game instantly (leaving all survivors in the game automatically to escape, including those who are hooked or are in dying state), and not having to deal with survivors not leaving gate.

I would suggest the same thing that if the last survivor is in dying state and being kept hostage by the killer to bleed out, that survivor should have the ability to "suicide" instantly, or rather bleed out faster. But this won't be a problem when the new mori system comes into the game. (I think)

I also feel like that survivor and killer should be able to dc without penalty if there already has been a dc in the first minute of the game. Both as a survivor and a killer, I wish the game to end asap when I see a random teammate dc in the first couple of seconds because he or she got downed fast, and having to deal with 1v3 the rest of the game against a sweaty killer. Same as a killer, playing against 3 survivors is much boring and I feel the need to go easy on them or rather let them boost because their teammate was a bad sportsmanship. (Survivor should still get dc penalty if the first dc was their swf partner).

    Thoughts?

Absolutely no-one should be able to DC without penalty. Killer or survivor. TIme spent coding for a fringe scenario (Mismatched survivors holding killer hostage) could be better spent making MMR work properly so there's not such an imbalance in the first place.

How am i biased? im a killer main and mostly complain about how busted survivors are. The biased ones are the people defending her.

It sucks and i know why people want the devs to leave her alone. The other killers just plain suck with the current way the game is balanced. But it doesn't mean that her addons are fine because people get wrecked in their first 10 games and then give up.

Just look at my post history.

Player with 6000 hours on a single killer is on a streak, killer must be busted? You don't understand how that's subjective? If the people at his skill level (Comp level teams) were playing him EVERY GAME, he might never get out of single digits. It has been pointed out so many times that at high level - escapes and kills of particular players become exacerbated by MMR failing to find competitive matchups. That's not a Nurse problem. It's one person who invested a massive amount of hours in the highest skill-cap vessel in the game. There's at least one survivor winstreak over 300, documented. I don't even want to bring that up because NEITHER are indicative of the health of survivors or Nurse.

I don't care about your post history - what you are saying in this thread is wrong.

  • @Zozzy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2985992#Comment_2985992

No. The 200 win streak is indicative of how busted she is in a game catered towards survivors. He makes multiple mistakes but is able to claw back a bad game just because of the addons. I would love to see him get a 200+ win streak without the use of addons.

It takes a fully coordinated comp team who is also stream sniping to make him sweat. and he still beat them!

There is no argument that with range and recharge she is broken. Without the addons she is still difficult, but at least beatable.

Since we're delving into subjective bias territory, I'll counter your no with...no. You're just wrong. There's a reason they recoded her and didn't change her fundamental gameplay or add-ons.

  • @Zozzy said:

She is fine base kit but somewhat broken when you use range and recharge together. once she is on you, you don't have time to do anything. This is speaking from experience since all i have been doing is playing basekit nurse for 2 weeks, and when i do use her addons, the game is over at 5 or 4 gens.

A guy with a 200+ win streak during mmr times is not exactly helping anyone's argument that "nurse is fine" for people quoting superalf.

It just bugs me that people are trying to get a nerf in by saying ranged addons are bugged when they re not.

Have you watched his streak? He gets players that don't know how to play Nurse and he gets players that do. The latter are significantly rarer and you can see the fits they give him every time they come around.

Edit: The guy also have several THOUSAND hours on just Nurse, he probably has almost every object width, every weird angle, every nuanced trick memorized.

His 200 streak isn't concerning, it's indicative of his massive commitment to the character.

Nurse mains in here desperately trying to keep nurse OP to keep getting easy wins.

The reason I don't play SWF, and the reason I almost never play nurse is they are both busted. Where is the fun in playing a game where you have a huge advantage? Just play a single player game if you want to win despite putting in much less effort than the other team/player.

When I play nurse I don't even use her purple range addon (don't know the name of it in english) because it feels like cheating.

I have to wonder if nurse mains care about how unfair the solo queue vs nurse matchup is, especially when 95 percent of nurses play as if every game is against a full, sweaty SWF.

Yeah, everyone knows SWF is broken when it is 3-4 players in a group. Anyone who says otherwise is wrong. Just like anyone who says nurse isn't broken is wrong.

This game should strive to be more balanced, not satisfy the power fantasy that so many players seem to want.

We just refuse to balance around solo queue, as we know it's abysmal, just like 75% of the killer roster. We're not going to move the goal posts on these threads just because YOU want to. You're welcome to not play as an SWF.

Just to preface, this isn't meant as a report of the issue, since it's been reported multiple times. This is more so just to show and discuss the issue.

So I'm sure we all know about the lag issues that have been happening. It's either been happening as micro-stutters, sudden frame drops, or rubberbanding. Just had a game where it had all 3. I wasn't able to record the whole match, but I got the last 5 minutes. So this is how much lag can happen in just 5 minutes of a match.

Keep in mind, that my frames are typically supposed to be 100-120. I cut out each time it dropped below that suddenly. Each time it dropped, I micro-stuttered/felt the drag of the lag. Sometimes, since the video isn't the same frames, it isn't really seen all the time from the video. But it was definitely felt when I was playing. I would say it happened every 5 seconds ish in some sort of way. I also increased the size of my FPS in a corner to show when it's affected.

    https://youtu.be/2UmN3b5z9zs

The lag made scratch marks delay from where the actual player was, causing me to lose multiple chases. I'm sure the survivors also probably got confused if they saw me stutter, or got weird hits. What do you guys think? I know not everyone has felt this issue so extreme, or get it every once in a while. So this is just to highlight how bad it could get (and probably could be worse).

I have exceptional internet and a supercomputer and I have also experienced the delayed and/or sometime non existent scratchcard.

And the occasional rubber banding, but I secretly hope that leaves my opponent as bewildered as me.

So I was running parental guidance and smash hit together against a nurse. Towards the end of the game I stunned her with a pallet during her fatigue. But for some reason smash hit and parental guidance decided not to work.

Don't quote me, because it has been a long time since i was stunned during the actual fatigue, but I believe it's not counting as a stun because she was already fatigued.

If you caught her before or after, or during the blink itself, all 3 of these scenarios would actually stun her and proc your perks.

Do you think it matters to her same / more compare to other killers?

    I would say less...

Blight might be there, but not without hug tech.

Different things matter more. I'm less concerned by the tilesets and more concerned by absolutely brutal corn, missized rocks cutting my blinks from 20 meters to 5 meters, clipping like on learys and Midwhich where exit gates are unapproachable from certain angles.

All of these things have cost me kills and games and I do not think quantifying the impact is important. I do think it's important not to dismiss the impact, nurse absolutely cares about the map she gets.

Well, Blight doesn't need to slug to get 4k. He will get worse without hugtech tho, more map dependant.

It's true that Nurse (good enough) doesn't care about map that much. Most killers even with best perks / addons still need a decent map at least.

Need to push back against this: You can watch Nurse streamers (All the way up to Supaalf) who regularly display shock at their blinks getting swallowed up for no good reason. Map absolutely matters to Nurse:

    • RPD
    • Leary's
    • Ormond (Size)
    • Mothers Dwelling (Size + Infinite Tree LOS)
    • ANY MAP WITH CORN

The list goes on, and Nurses definitely have to think about how they play depending on the map. Again, all the way up to the higher echelons of play.

  • @sergiofvs said:

"Get good", use DH, break line of sight, play stealthy and whatever you might suggest, I've tried, many many times. But honestly, after almost 5k hours in this game, I gave up facing this killer on solo queues.

Literally every match has been range addons + slug fest + slowdown. Should a killer really be that strong against SOLO players? What's the point of learning how to loop tiles if she completely ignores them? Holding W, well good luck with that against Kavanagh's last breath. So I just kill myself on hook or DC, cause they won't hook until get 4 men slugged and I refuse to spend the entire game bleeding out.

I feel sorry about my teammates, but until Nurse get some changes this is how it's gonna be, cause I gave up on facing her.

So you came here to admit you have poor sportsmanship and no sense of obligation to your teammates.

SOLO queue is definitely the place for you.

Medkits are the big issue in my opinion, when it comes to healing. Those can still cut healing time in half, and without any setup.

COH definitely feels fine now, but most killers, myself included, do not like the playstyle it inspires and that issue still exists. If I hear the boon sound go off, I know I can't hit and run, or divide and conquer. I lose a lot of interaction with the other survivors because now I'm playing 1 v 1 for each hook state instead of 1 v 4.

I don't think it's a leap to say most killers would like to be able to get into more chases, and create pressure through more interactive playstyles.

I think you’re over estimating how many survivors have Circle of Healing in their loadouts. The dev stats they released a month or two ago show only 10-16% of survivors have it in their loadouts (it’s the dark green band in the chart below.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/HDVETP5KMCX1/image.jpeg

It’s still relatively speaking a popular perk, of course, but it’s unusual for multiple people to run Circle of Healing in the same match let alone it be used by 3/4 of survivor players. At 16% of loadouts though it would appear in roughly 1/2 the matches since about 1/8 survivors use it.

Dead Hard is a totally different story obviously, it’s far and away the most used survivor perk in up to 75% of loadouts among high skill survivors. So that one you literally do see almost every match and often on multiple survivors.

His statement isn't significantly off. He said 75% of games have COH too, not 75% of survivors run it. In most SWF mixes at least one person brings COH. This lines up fairly closely with the 16%.

Range Nurses usually are not competitive/strong players, because those players do not use those add-ons because they know they are bugged and banned from competitive. There's a small chance usually that those who use range intentionally abuse of them because of the faster blink speed bug, and casually it's always those type of Nurses who hit me/others on hook.

Except you are assuming he only wins due to bad survivors. But survivors are people, they’re not idealized perfect players, and his playstyle takes advantage of that. “Survivors made mistakes so they’re potatoes” is ignoring the fact that he sets up more situations an an average killer for him to get those mistakes to happen.

You asked to see someone who does really well with Deathslinger over the long haul and he does just that. Now you’re complaining that “oh but it’s because the survivors are bad” ignoring that he does well in all the matches and his MMR is obviously high since he wins probably 80% of his matches. He’s not winning simply because “he’s a good shot”.

I did not ask to see any games. I wrote: "I have yet to find a Deathslinger that can win a game without the survivors absolutely sabotaging themselves."

That remains true, even after watching his last 8 Deathslinger videos.

I win more than 80% of my Nurse matches, but I don't let that make me delusional - I can still tell when the survivors are potatoes

These survivors aren't just making mistakes, they're making egregious mistakes that demonstrate they are not even able to identify the perks they are up against. I have pointed out multiple, ridiculous examples that you never responded too. I would genuinely rather play Deathslinger than spend more time trying to explain it to you. Take the last word you are wasting time in bad faith.

  • @dugman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2981738#Comment_2981738

I’m not “rebranding”, I’m saying it’s odd you’re assuming he only wins because survivors are bad when that’s statistically highly improbable. Part of being good at the macro game is putting survivors into situations where you have the opportunity to find and capitalize on unforced errors and catching them in the open and finding and focusing on the weakest player on the squad. Spectating killers who are excellent macro gamers will always look like they’re “against potatoes” even though they’re not because they’re setting up a lot more opportunities and putting a lot more pressure on survivors to be in those situations.

“But that’s the survivors sabotaging themselves” is selling the killer short when part of the strategy is creating ways for the survivors to sabotage themselves in the first place. It’s not accidental, it’s intentional.

Dude, these survivors are literally sitting behind rocks, and then crawling out of them directly into his FOV when they could otherwise just sit there and avoid him with their 3rd person FOV. If you think these videos are indicative of Deathslinger potential and not survivor's being potatoes then you are crazy.

And for the final. #########. Time. I am not assuming he only wins due to bad survivors. But, in 7 out of the 8 matches I am now up to there has been multiple awful survivors every game. Christ. We can find videos of Clown and Myers stomping oblivious survivors and those two killers will still be AWFUL.

  • @dugman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2981729#Comment_2981729

I’m saying he’s excellent at the macro game which allows him to maintain pressure even when the survivors would normally split up on gens and also find the weak links in the survivor’s group to get the first down more quickly. You don’t get a consistent 70-80% kill rate over a long run of matches simply because “the survivors are all bad”.

Dude, I see his macro perk builds - they're cool and all but half the time the survivors are just posting up on rocks and waiting for him wherever he already is. They are not objective oriented at all and it shows. Maybe of the 6 games of his I watched so far the only one where the survivors even tried to bang out gens was the Leary's game - AND the hysterical thing about that one is they managed to scream it up for SH:PR all the way to the last gen. That is unbelievably sloppy.

I'm not saying all survivors are bad. I'm saying these videos are a piss-poor indication of Deathslinger's current woes. Stop rebranding.

  • @dugman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2981677#Comment_2981677

I just grabbed the most recent video, like I said he’s posting a bunch of them one a day. And no, he doesn’t just win because “the survivors aren’t good”.

I already gave him the benefit of a doubt and watched several videos, and again, the survivors I play do not commit so many unforced errors. It's cool that he's a good shot but that's really not what Deathslinger being bad right now is about.

Are you saying these survivors in these videos ARE good? Most of them can't even post up on T wall properly.

Edit: Let me be clear, when I get these kind of survivors, I win no problem too. When I evaluate killers I don't pass judgement based on the games that potatoes gave me, I base it on games where the survivors display actual experience verses the killer I'm playing. Even Clown can look good against the right survivors.

RedsGamingGears happens to be playing Deathslinger once a day all month this month and is kicking butt with him. He’s an insanely good shot (at least compared to me! 😄) and a very strong macro game killer. Here’s his most recent video but he’s doing two matches a day for 30 days.

    https://youtu.be/zMDAXUNHF0c

Sorry to discount this video, but survivors:

    • Grouping up on one side of the map allowing for repeated infectious fright procs
    • Deadharding before his redeemer goes off
    • Not looking over their shoulder when they don't have deadhard
    • Immediately going back to the same gen when they just heard Deathslingers redeemer go off on the other side of the building
    • Crossing windows instead of taking advantage of the 3rd person FOV to force Deathslinger around tall walls first
    • Survivors just losing track of obstacles and running into walls

My opponents don't play like this. They split up to the 4 corners of the map, only DH when the gun goes off, and actually use the jingling sound to make sure they don't run back into my line of fire. I don't miss shots often, but survivors do not present me with such easy opportunities. This guy also seems to round corners, even without infectious fright going off, and there's always some potato there just waiting for no reason.

Honestly, the only thing in this video that really impressed me was the use of double stun reduction to modify what would have otherwise been much longer follow up hits. The rest just looks like bad survivor play.

Edit: This guy, much like Otzdarva during offtime hours, could be quite good at Deathslinger, but these games are not indicative of some winning formula for the killer.

Further Edit: Unfortunately, I loved M&A Deathslinger, but with his nerf and having moved on to main more reliable killers, I don't like modifying my FOV from killer to killer, that makes this even more frustrating.

I've only seen Deathslinger a grand total of three times since the nerf. It's crazy how rare he is to see these days. I mean, I've seen more Twins than Slingers. An oddly large number of Twins, even. Where has the angry cowboy gone?

I have yet to find a Deathslinger that can win a game without the survivors absolutely sabotaging themselves first. My own included, and I consider my Deathslinger quite good - I just get W'd the moment that overnerfed terror radius hit's their gen and have to spend 40 seconds just to get in firing range.

I could tell you why I was scared to put it in my first thread,

and would like the answer since I haven't gotten any..

I have no intention of prolonging spam past this last response. Sorry bud.

Pretty much the title, does this MEME invoke "us vs them"

    okay, maybe it does,

but rather than the meme it was undercover rant about soloq teammates....

You really couldn't put this on your first thread?

When a survivor is put on a hook after five seconds if the killer is within 8 meters hook progression is slowed by 75% if the killer remains there for 10 more seconds hook progression is stopped. When the killer is within 16 meters hook progression is slowed by 50%. (This is just an idea I thought about feel free to disagree or share different ideas.)

This only ensures survivors will make every effort to keep killers near the hook to delay sacrifice timers.

Edit: Just have someone run Comradery, or whatever the perk is called, and dumpster gens.

Two consecutive matches where I'm chased by the killer and another survivor comes to the loop and hides under the pallet.

Is there some rift I'm not aware of?

If I was playing killer and noticed this I would immediately slug the offending survivor and make sure they spent as much time as humanly possible not playing the game while his team racked up BP's. I hope the killers in your game had some situational awareness.

    Also: Survivors be stupid.

Yeah, good point. I heard somewhere (not sure where so I can't verify the report), that the reason BHVR lost the license was because there's going to be a Stranger Things game (but I don't see why that's an issue since we still have Ash and he has his own game now. Then again, maybe we'll lose Ash too . . .)

Licensing depends on contract to contract - the relationship between DBD and Stranger Things could be entirely different than what was hashed out for Ash.
