I find family residence a little bland. its just a big house with a few decent jungle gyms and then a bunch of rocks in the middle that dont offer much in form of aesthetic or function.
-
the problem with this map is it is shaped like a capital H. it is very easy to 3 gen this map. often all a killer needs to do is focus on one side of the map to create the 3 gen situation. you can win this map without ever going to the other side.
-
I dont think this map favors killers or survivors-- its just all around outdated and feels really bad to play.

I dont think this map favors killers or survivors-- its just all around outdated and feels really bad to play in modern dbd.
-
Most "we'll make it" people heal under the hook--- and these days cant even do that because the killer is either closeby proxy camping... or they return swiftly to the hook after an unhook anyway.
it has become much more difficult to make useful these days
-
Would you like there to be no DBD at all ? Because that's how you achieve it.
People play online games to play with their friends. Take that away and I promise you will see the traffic plummet in this game.
The only person who would complain about being able to play with friends is someone who doesnt play with friends. Maybe do that and enjoy the other 50% of the game rather than try to destroy it.
-
I agree those swamp maps feel really dated.
-
I dont know what people expect--- bhvr call up discord and be like: " yo, stop letting dbd players chat."
the fact of the matter is, in a game where a lobby can be created and friends added to that lobby, there will ALWAYS be communication. always.
no matter what changes are made, people will work around it as long as communication is possible. the only way to prevent this is to remove swf entirely... and if you want that, then you sign the death note of the game-- because if anything is true about online games, it's that people want to play with their friends.
the -only- good option is to bring solo q up to speed. more communication, more tools to help a team coordinate. and even then... these will be randoms..strangers.. and no matter how much communication, they are not promised to cooperate (see any online game with ig voice chat ever)

I have said a few times that they should just remove keys and add the addons from the keys to the maps.
Then, make the key a last-ditch effort scavenger hunt.
Key spawns during the end game collapse (if 1 survivor remains), hidden somewhere in the map. If a survivor finds the key, they would be able to reopen the hatch previously closed by the killer.
This would prevent hopeless situations where there is just no way for that last survivor to make it out. Situations where the doors spawn in a way that the killer can just stand in a particular spot and have a perfect view of both-- then if the survivor makes a move for it.. they have no chance at all of making it out.
A hopeless situation may be more understandable and acceptable, were it not for the changes to certain perks during endgame with the reasoning being "the killer is helpless against X" see decisive strike, or off the record etc. -- there is precedent here for fixing "hopeless or helpless situations"
If the killer has 3k'd and you played hard and made it to the end... it feels -bad- when you see the gates right on top of one another and the hatch closed immediately. there is nothing you can do but die.
the idea of hiding the key in the match would also add another layer to the game, another objective and a race against the clock.

I think a more restricted way of the ptb bk umbreakable should be done anyway.
It is not healthy for the game to allow killers to produce 4 minutes stalemates everytime they want to 4k.
tbh if it wasn't for the "slugging for 4k" norm, I would probably not even care about this change very much. It's just realllyyy old.
play hard all game.. then it comes down to the final 2... SLAP. ---"here we go"
"ok guess ill just lie here while jimmy goes to collect his 4k."
-
This thread isnt saying it "should" be .. I am asking when it "will" happen... because it is. It's in testing now and has been for some time.
Also, I am saying it should be though. Obviously slugging is an issue or they wouldnt even be floating an idea like this, let alone testing it for the live game.
There is a reason survivor queues are instant, and it isnt because "killers have it so hard"
there is some toxic, unfun gameplay happening and its getting remedied (kind of) slowly bit by bit.
-
I thought so too, but I don't really know how deep the licensing goes.. is it just the name.. or is it the whole character because of the name? I am not sure how or where exactly the line is drawn. I am hoping Mandy will see this and drop nuggets of enlightenment.
-
just add kindred to survivor base kit. I feel like that would solve so many issues. swf already know if they are camping... solo queue needs help. its rough out there.
-
rebecca wails. she probably has the loudest and most obnoxious cries of pain yet. imo.
-
so many times that claudette that was crouched in the corner the whole game will get the hatch given to them as I spectate wanting to rip my hair out.
-
The clown. His power makes me have motion sickness-- tbh they should prob do something to make it better.
They changed a killer challenge to fix the motion sickness issue.
The vomit noises survivors make is pretty terrible--- but at least it doesnt make my head hurt.

True, can't tell you the number of times I've spawned inside killer terror radius or when me and the killer spawn next to each other lol
that moment.

I think totem spawns need a huge rework cuz numerous times I've spawned by the killers hex and poor thing got cleansed if not by me, by another survivor.
What they can probably do, is depending on the rarity, it'll determine how long the hax is blocked at the start of the trial for 30/45/60 because the survivor could forget the hex is there, because they get busy with other objectives, or the Survivor doesn't know the map well and has difficulty finding it
I think its the player spawns that are the big issue.
I swear like 95% of the time I spawn into 3 other people and make a mad dash to get the heck away because people in solo queue are hazardous. xD
we should not be spawning in together so often, and also not on top of totems as much
-
I wouldnt be against a rekindle effect as long as it took like half the time to cleanse- or cost the killer time to do it.
there has to be a price, always.
-
water would be cool.. and could add a "wet" status effect or something... but would probably end up as some blob monster that would ultimately just be a field-day for the lewdies
but so does everything else I guess.. xD
-
this is just the same as the killers who nod and/or shake their bodies at you after a chase.
if you took away the clicking or the tbagging then it would just be something else--- people who play toxic will always find a way

Well then, you make a good point and a good suggestion of setting a max cap on Merciless Storm, but nevertheless the devs will probably just buff it next patch so that survivors scream when it is activated. Unfortunately.
merciless storm really should just be capped yea... instead of --whatever that recent pain res dms change was supposed to be.....
<.<

@Milo said:
They can go that route, or give extra points for hooking diffrent survs. Not tunneling. Either/or would work.
this is a really really great idea
-
Survivors have perks. A few of them are useful. Better nerf them. Only trash for those pesky survivors.
-
at first glance, I thought... not so bad
and nobody used it before anyway
but yea I see it now. people prob still wont use it
-
Base kit kindred has been something ive wanted for years
-
I let out a breath of relief upon reading that thana nerf. Constantly seeing gift of pain + thana, thana + dying light, than+ insert more slowdown perks here & add sloppy butcher
slowdown has felt absolutely miserable since the patch--- this will feel much much less awful.
MoM change sounds like a nerf... but lets be real--- nobody used it before. Maybe now it can actually be activated without going so much out of your way.
Pain res + DMS -- meh whatever. Dont care so much if we have to deal with that again... but that merciless storm + pain res was AWFUL. I got hit with that yesterday and it was just an endless flurry of skillchecks. I was like what the heck is going on?! Now I know lol.

I literally just thought to myself.... I should make a post about Nurse in the forums. " Devs please do something about the Nurse, soon."
It's excruciating to play against her. I feel like her kit just doesn't belong in the game anymore-- DBD was very different when she was added.
They can definitely come up with a way to make her kit true to what the nurse is without leaving her the free win machine she is right now.
When I see a Nurse, immediately I let out a long sigh and get a horrible feeling of dread in my stomach "this is going to be a bad time"
I will never be one of the people that dc on sight. I am way too stubborn and would rather go down in a chase... which with a good enough nurse will last about 5 seconds ._.

@RpTheHotrod said:
There are also far less killers. More bp for killer is designed as an incentive to play them.
not true. if it was true it isn't anymore. That's why killer queues take ages right now. nobody wants to play survivor.
-
@Audiophile said:
More people enjoy playing survivor. They need killers. Do the math.
is that why killer queues are ABYSSMAL right now? Taking 15 min to find a single match and survivor queues are damn near instant ?
sounds a little sus.
right now after this patch and ever since the patch-- the game has been like this.
not enough survivors right now. so I think you should re-evaluate your comment.
-
Are you kidding me ๐
Do you want us to just hook ourselves for you next ?
lol
-
you just described playing against the Dredge. except the orange glyph isnt trying to kill you. ๐
-
Legion - mend simulator is not fun. at all. neither is spending 20 min in a match
Nurse - breaks the game - enough said
Bubba - From the builds to the playstyle that Bubba players all gravitate towards.. just very anti-fun to play against.
but to be 100% honest -- I like variety.. I like facing various different killers.. so it would be a shame to see any of them go... but I would sure like to see some of them changed...
-
mend simulator already wasnt fun with the added slowdown they already had access to.
now with this new update its so much worse...20 minute matches with a legion is miserable.
-
with tunneling, proxy camping and camping etc. --- being so bad
going for an unhook almost is a guaranteed hit or down for the unhooker these days
solo's arent going to be as willing to take a down for a stranger.
-
honestly, as you can see by my amount of posts... in the 6 years I've played this game... I only recently decided to participate in the forums.
I did find the post by peanits though, it was helpful at least to understand the nature of the huntress and survivor's hitboxes.
-
@OniWantsYourMacaroni said:
It's not her hitbox that is the problem,it's latency making her hits look so rediculous
Makes sense.. with the very frequent rubberbanding I guess its no surprise that it would affect projectiles.
Can Trickster get some love though? ;P
-
Ada & Ethan (or maybe Carlos)
and of course, Lady D. If they added her to the game... I may never play survivor again. <.<
-
Until Circle of Healing is deleted they will never be happy. Actually Boon existence in general, probably.
-
nobody likes mend simulator.

Ahh.. good ol' Pride Month.
Making the Homophobes pressed and stressed for a whole month every June.

The No Mither only one was just as bad. I only got it done because of a kind Trickster who knew what I was doing and agreed that the challenge was ridiculous. This David King tome is prob the worst one i've seen yet.

Tbf your fun is literally at the expense of the other side in a pvp game most of the time. Unless its a bare bones fair matchup in a fairly balanced game (not this game) then yes it can be fun for both sides. Had a very fun time in the Multiversus beta unless it was against a finn and jake cause I still felt like I had a chance the entire match even if I was being stomped.
A loss is not ruining my day. I normally dont care at all. (I def have some friends that get HEATED af over losing.. and I just dont get it.)
Wasting my time does definitely trigger me. That will make me upset.. as has been displayed here.
The feng in that original screenshot wasnt even me... I watched to see if she made it... and saw that and got immediately ticked off. They stood over her for the entire bleed out bar. Hooks nearby. Nobody was even being toxic that match because 2 other survivors dc'd (because everybody hates legion these days)
That was completely uncalled for toxicity. I just think that sort of thing should be prevented.. and if it means someone is forced to hook you (because thats what they are there for) then I just dont feel bad about that at all. Some players deserve it.. that is truth. I play both killer and survivor (though much more fun as a survivor imo) and being on the other end of the bully train sucks. its just 5-10 minutes of stress... I get it...
but I just cant feel differently about being stuck to bleed out and do nothing for 4 minutes. \o/

It's just a button (M1) that they're hitting. It's only a video game. I don't know why people get so upset over someone just a hitting a button repeatedly (M1 every time the survivor gets picked up). It's just pixels.
I'm not directing this at you, OP, since I don't know if you do this but I like to slugcamp survivors who teabag at pallets. I then let the non teabagging survivors farm all the BP they want off of me after. Toxicity; it's the gift you just want to hit the return to sender button on even if you're otherwise normally chill.
nope. actually I like the chase. doing gens is boring and I wish they would add something new to change it up. I am also not out here teabagging and flashlight macroing or running some bully squad on killers... and when I play with friends I actually tell them to knock it off .. because somebody has to at least -try- to remain decent in this hellscape.
survivors and killers have such a horrible relationship. like real actual venom.. that is visable just by searching this forums or twitter... or the end game lobby.
I want fun gameplay.. I want to enjoy the game. without it being at the expense of someone else.
I dont think thats unreasonable.
the fact that some of the people in this thread defend holding someone there until they die just really.. well I cant say I am surprised. I dont think I have the word to articulate the mindset of some of these people.
-
report it. ban me. whatever lol. nothing constructive ever happens here anyway.
-
@Brimp said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2985529#Comment_2985529
Sure you can report for it but nothing will be done about it since the DEVS do not consider it holding the game hostage. You follow the rules the devs put in place and you can't bend them to your will and say "this should be bannable". Also you're playing survivor in a game thats 4v1..... the killer is supposed to have that kind of power.
I didnt even say getting slugged can be reported...
"is kept in a position where they have zero control aside from dc'ing.. which can get reported." the dc'ing can be reported... dc'ing because you dont want to be kept on the ground for 4 minutes. that is what I said.
Just let us die if thats how its going to be. I will queue up and move on... but I reallllly do not want to lie there for 4 minutes of doing nothing.
-
If I cannot move for 4 minutes, and just have to lie there, that is being held hostage. I dont care what the game terminology is or what the "devs" label it as. a person -who does not want to be held there- is kept in a position where they have zero control aside from dc'ing.. which can get reported.
could be on to the next game by the time. if this is "ok" to do.. then we need to just be able to end the bleed timer and die because its not fun.. it just feels really really bad.
