I'm only 4 episodes in, but ever since I saw what his mori would be at the end of Ep1 I was thirsting for him in DBD.
-
I see a ton of good tips so far.
Somethings I don't think have been said:
- You can count her remaining blinks based on the orbs in her hand. This is niched but incredibly useful in some scenarios
- Play her. No. Seriously. ######### play her. Learn how she feels so at the very least you can identify her add-ons. Being able to understand her distance and fatigue duration opens up so many strategies you wouldn't normally have
- Draw better angles, you can put her in positions where the straight line to you is filled with nonsense which is not only good LOS, but it can force her blink to miscalc and come up very short
- She cannot shorten her blinks if you double back on a second floor. Similarly, identify the basement early and if she doesn't know where it is yet you can make her jail herself for a set of blinks and a free escape
- Recognize that if every chase lasts more than 40 seconds, you're losing because gens aren't being done not because Nurse is unfair
All the people on this thread going 'pray' and 'hope' are incredibly lazy, and I don't know how they're not embarrassed by contributing so little but still feel the need to post.
You know, save for their own personal angst. Sad.

nurse is already a strong killer, she don't need strong addons btw, just saying
I welcome you to try and kill some survivors as Addonless Nurse.
You'll win a few, sure. And then you're going to get survivors that understand Nurse and you bet your booty that the moment they identify you don't have recharge OR ranged addons on, which they will, they're going to put you through the wringer and you'll come out feeling like you just played an M1 killer with no power.
-
Not every perk needs to be fun. Sometimes, perks just need to fill in a hole.
Edit: I also don't agree with the suggestion regardless. Feels so extra.

how is calling out how ridiculous it is to even think this is important, being "triggered".
There is an entire population of people that don't think it's ridiculous, as literally evidenced in this thread.
Again, I don't particularly care about Dredge's identity but I don't actively discourage those who find value in discussing it. Your posts are active discouragement and even after called out you keep coming back. You're triggered, buddy.
Might I suggest a more gender friendly game for you, like chess?

I like when they slug for the 4K and the slugged guy DC, then the last one gets hatch.
I consider a win not necessarily the # of kills or escapes, because there's so many DCs and sabotaged games, but the discrepancy in BP instead. Everytime a survivor DCs I've just advanced past that person in blood point gains, that's feel good.

ah yes "triggering yourself" coming from the people concerned about the pronouns of some pixels on a screen :/
I mean, everyone else was civil, you seem to be the only one in a twist about other people discussing it. So yes, you definitely appear triggered buddy.

I just don't see why people have to bring this stuff up with the slightest thing, it's annoying after a while.
Sounds like a personal problem. Might I suggest not triggering yourself by repeatedly visiting those threads and posting nonsense?

No killers voting down for this?
Wow I'm surprised as a faster death would mean faster Hatch.
It's a silly ask that's never going to happen. We're already used to survivors dc'ing trying to give last person hatch anyway. How much faster could it get?

Dead hard don't win games. A very small dash can't be comparable to perks that constantly remove or prevent objective progress.
don't take the bait don't take the bait don't take the bait don't take the bait don't take the bait don't take the bait don't take the bait don't take the bait

1 mil daily has no point? Dude what's your definition of alot of people. 1 million people playing this game will easily make 2v8 possible for 100s of thousands of servers
DBD does NOT have 1 million concurrent users. What are you not understanding?

Lol 10,000,000 CHINESE players on launch. China server is separate from US servers and uses a different app were not even matched together
Why does the segregation of servers matter here? If they have 10 million players on Asia servers chances are their US servers are considerably bigger and have a larger population than DBD as well.
DBD already has people experiencing 10 minute queue times WITH a system that prioritizes queuing speed over MMR accuracy. Again, this game does not even have the population to have a casual and ranked queue, let alone alternate game modes.

3 million people can play this game, dude. If the daily active users is, based on Steams projections, somewhere considerably south of 1 mil, you have no point.

This is actually false entirely. Identity V has less players im pretty sure an they have 4-5 alternate game modes
Duo hunters (2v8)
Tarot
Tarot Crystal Ball Mode
Phantom Shadows
Blackjack
A cursory google tells me that Identity V, whatever that is, has 10 million players every day. So um...K?

ah yes mentions rule 34 and protects pronouns, they're always so predictable :)
Before I posted that you posted asking why it matters.
Rule34 was a joke, but clearly, this topic matters to you.
-
Has nothing to do with mechanics. There is not a big enough player base to support it.
-
What really gets me is that this is the Artist's Map? SO WHY IS IT SO BRIGHT?
They could have given us ink smattered sand, buildings, and clouds. It could have been a visual spectacle and homage to the killer that came with it.
But what did we get? I don't even really know.
-
I'm not one for camping at 5 gens simply because I don't find it a strong tactic, save for one scenario:
The super fast survivor down. If I get that first down extremely fast and the survivor I have on hook just screams weak link than I do not have any incentive to move. Where will I go? I could go chase some survivor off a 5% gen, and if they're any good I will lose pressure while someone else makes the save.
Screw that noise, I have your friend. Come save him or lose the game in the inevitable 3v1 2-gen scenario, I'll be waiting.

Wasn't it mentioned in the Descend Beyond - Behind the Scenes video that the Blight was inspired by Jekyll & Hyde? Not to say that it couldn't happen, of course.
@ShinobuSK said:
Isnt that Blight? I was thinking of Dr jekyll the moment I saw his trailer.
A scientist using some substance to become...nah its just a coincidence
Given how the Dredge, while thematically different, is basically a better Sadako, I think BHVR could take some liberty to give Jeckyll and Hyde a shot. But I think I have a better idea as to the implementation:
Jeckyl should be a survivor and Hyde should be a killer - Separating them makes the perk options/design so much more fun, as Jeckyll really doesn't fit the killer mantra.

And how many boil over sabo squad have you seen? And how many navy seal swf? Because killers here want to balance the game doing at least 3k against them with trapper
I'm convinced a killer player has irrevocably hurt you.
-
Lot of people here really missing the point. It's not about the flashlights, although that is what OP got hit with - it's about slamming in different loadouts at the last second - and to that they have a point.
Why does the 4 man team get the last say on presenting information in the lobby? The killer can see them, but it has no value - and it's about to have less value when loadouts come around and they all switch at the 16 second mark.
They bring all flashlights at 16 seconds? Not enough time to equip your lightborn loadout
All medkits? Not enough time to select your sloppy butcher
The list goes on
The real question is it appropriate for survivors to have the final say at the lobby screen? I don't think it is. I also don't particularly care because I play killers that don't give a ######### about this nonsense - but the people hyper-focusing on flashlights and SWF vs Solo and the other ancillary nonsense aren't really understanding the problem.
The worst part? The solution is SO EASY. Lock survivors in at 20 and killers in at 10. Done.
Edit: Before anyone goes full stupid. YES, I understand the OP talked about Flashlights and SWF too. We ALL KNOW THESE THINGS ARE NOT GOING AWAY, there is no need to hijack this thread and make it about that. There IS a chance lobby rigging gets addressed.

As Nurse, I just went against a group that had popped 2 streamers and one gateau.
I've tried to play "cool" at first but all they did was slam the gens and let the hooks hang. Naturally I've changed from playful to bastard and in the end the highest score was ~20k (surprisingly, the one who didn't do a single unhook), the rest were 12k 10k and 9k : what a waste.
My experience. Survivors playing focused only on gens and getting out of chases.

I literally just got this the other day without knowing it was a thing.
You must play survivor a lot more than me. I've done this achievement condition at least 50 times and have only got credit 7 times. If the healing prompt doesn't come up and I have to move a millimeter it doesn't award it. It's absurd.
Edit: Another issue is that half the achievements update late so you don't know if you did it correctly or on which one until you're out of game.

Only when I'm sensing a pattern. Which feels fairly often.

In a situation like OPs, where he was on RPD, it can be an impossible game. He could search every single locker and find no one because they could have left a second level locker to jump down into a first level locker that had already been searched. Rinse and repeat.
If they're not even going to attempt to do their objective, then honestly they should be the ones to forfeit the game, not the killer. I'm sure the killer didn't sign up to play a half hour plus long game of hide and seek when he logged onto DBD. And this hide and seek seems to typically happen when a killer has the upper hand, so why a killer should concede or "surrender" because a couple of survivors can't face the prospect of losing a game is a bit baffling tbh. Instead of a surrender option, I'd much rather the entity consume remaining survivors if x-amount of time has passed without any significant gen progress.
Even the Entity gets tired of nonsense. I'd back it.

They gave their opinion to me, to which I disagreed and told them why. I tend to agree to disagree with people when arguments tend to lean towards bias, like your own. I watched the video and skipped through to the parts where the killer found the survivors which is all I needed to see to realize they weren't holding the game hostage... in my opinion.
My position is both understanding and accepting and agreeing with BHVR policy that what took place in OP's thread was absolutely hostage holding. If you need to call that bias to reconcile getting ganged up on a thread than you do you, but killers should not have to surrender because the team that controls the flow of the game refused to play their objectives. It's lazy.

I don't farm so much as I attempt to give people a chance to earn BP for themselves. Once I have the game under control, I'll often injure and leave them, or drop people near gens etc. It usually works out pretty well, in that we'll all max our BP but it won't be standing around farming.
I didn't realize we were having an argument. My first message was a request but everything after that was just following up on whatever you wrote.
It's totally fine what you don't have a screenshot.

I don't, as a habit, record or screencap every game I have just in case someone is being a butt gerbil in an entertaining or annoying way.
I consider spiting themselves to deny you BP a very worthy screenshot. Like I said, I don't like anecdotes unless they at least come with 2FA :(

Learn what you can from it. Try to pay attention to specific things the survivors are doing that you're having trouble with. Did you get value from your perks? Why/why not? What about your power? Go over your decision-making afterwards and how it related to the result. Then apply all of that to the next game
To add to this - Imitate the survivors that duped you in solo queue. Did the strats that worked on you also work for you against another killer or did they have counterplay?
Seeing is believing, but experiencing is understanding.

People coming out of the woodwork for the Blood Hunt I guess. I've had a couple of pretty bonkers matches this morning as well, and morning matches are usually pretty chill.
Server/zone? The hardest games I have ever played in my life happened the Saturday morning after the anniversary event. I mean 3+ survivors all knowing exactly how to deal with my nurse and banging out gens at Omni-man levels of speed. I have room to grow, of course, but it was ROUGH.

This thread. People love to spread hearsay, I try to trust OPs because it takes a lot of maliciousness to deliberately lie on a thread, but I like engaging on threads where the screenshots are actually posted because than the evidence is in everyone's faces and it's a lot harder to be a denier.
Case in point, that survivor hostage holding thread with an absurdly long sped up video showing the lengths the survivors went to to be trolls.

It is your opinion. What I think is a logical sentence others might see me as a troll. Keep your negativity somewhere else if you can't have a reasonable discussion. I am not acting like the DH gripe isn't a new thing. I know it's been a well populated topic for years since they first introduced it. I fully read every patch that comes out with this game in hopes they actually nerf something involving the killer. It almost never happens, instead they get "reworked". Boil Over got a buff because they wanted people to use the perk more.....how long did it take for boil over to get buffed? Before that COH was released. Killers cried their ass off because it was "too strong". How long did that take to get nerfed? A few months maybe? My point has been clear. Unless you can outweigh the differences here to have a pretty solid argument against mine then you must play a different game then I do. Killers get catered to more than survivors. Period
Oh. This isn't a discussion, I'm just running into a bias wall and wondering why the goalposts and fictions keep changing.
I'll run along.

Deathslinger should NOT have a 32 meter terror radius if he moves at 110% movement speed. Every killer who moves at 110% ms has a 24 meter terror radius so why does deathslinger have a 32 meter TR? It just doesnt make any sense to me. Hopefully BHVR reverts it back to him having a small terror radius.
They certainly did him dirty. It's like they never once watched someone play him and see the survivors scatter THE EXACT MOMENT his terror radius is heard. Now they do it with a 32 meter buffer instead and it's literally like I'm playing DayZ again, just walking across an entire damn map to find anyone.

Two detections, one stealth that benefits from the range addon. That's a good base IMHO. Instead of NOED, I'm partial to something like Starstruck.
My go-to build is Whispers, Infectious, BBQ and Starstuck (no add-ons). There are stronger builds (e.g. Scourge-based + range) but I'm having more fun with that one.
Pain Resonance, Agitation, Floods of Rage and Starstruck. Keep the survivors uncomfortable and ride their ass the entire damn match. Don't defend gens, don't patrol - just run down survivors. This is the build I use to maximize my practice without running gen regression nonsense or constantly getting hammered by Dead Hard and other second chance perks.
-
@JonahsTablet said:
The amount of people that say the game is survivor sided absolutely blows my mind, but they are technically right, for the vast majority of the killer roster, the game is tilted in the hand of survivors, however, you can change that if you take action for the following steps:
1: Practice Nurse/Blight
This won't be easy, these killers are pretty difficult to learn, but it's pretty much impossible to not get better with them as long as you're constantly trying to use their powers.
2: Equip either
A: A slugging build with 1 shot perks/add-ons.
B: A full gen slowdown build.
And boom: You can now win pretty much any game, it's really interesting to see the switch from you constantly struggling to consistently 3-4k, to effortlessly destroying teams. This is why I get really iffy when people say the game is one sided, it can be depending on how far you're willing to practice and go full nuclear.
First, it's not effortless, it's never effortless. Second, this is common knowledge. We all know those two killers can compete, we want a roster that can compete and we quite simply don't have one.
