just had a hacker
so i was sent to lery because someone brought a sacrificial ward and it counteracted my farm offering. she seemed to see me through walls but i was like nah she is probably good, but because she wasted my time i had to hook camp and slug and once she was dying on hook she escaped. i reported a hacker with evidence before and no response. so bhvr if you see this please start caring about reports

We do care about reports and if a player is reported correctly and we found that they did something wrong in game and there's evidence for this - for example we would need video evidence to show that someone was cheating in the way you described, then they do get punished.
However, you would not receive notifications of the action taken as it's not our custom to rely user data to 3rd parties - these discussions are kept with the user in question and ourselves.
It really would help even just from a cathartic standpoint to have some kind of acknowledgement when someone we report gets actioned - I understand why that isn't currently the case, but even a vague "We took action against someone you previously reported, thanks for helping improve the community!" message would do wonders for improving the community's faith in the idea that the system is working as intended.
No you don't. I have two reports with videos, and I am still waiting for your response back.
All my reports are extremely obvious, flawless and full of detail to identify the user(s) with all timeframes, ids and evidence and then some. Yet, no response ever other than the automatic email.
Read the comment from Mandy again: you are not supposed to get any further info from them if the report was complete.
And also, they don't act at once, but often collect some similar cases and yeet them off all together, as not to tip off the hackers.
That's not what the Customer Support email tells you. Plus, how anyone would know if they took action when they don't say it to you?
It's stupid to say "if we got the report we will stay silent like if you never sent a thing".
There is not even a Human email saying "hey, we got the report and will investigate further now, leave it to us. Thanks."
Agreed completely and these are things we will look into.
Mandy already responded to you, but it deserves another mention. It is such a basic, barebones ask, it should cost BHVR little to nothing to implement because the confirmation that action has been taken can ride the same channels the automatic emails do - and it really needs to happen.
Unless you have video evidence of them hacking blatantly in your face, their social security number, address, full genealogical history, a sworn affidavit with no less than five witnesses that say they were hacking and a full tearful confession from them that they were in fact hacking, nothing will be done.
Actually I have been getting responses from humans for every player report I made that they received it. Once that some input was missing.

But you were responding directly to Mandy’s comment that said you won’t get a response that she is wrong because you didn’t get a response. That doesn’t make sense.

Imagine if your bank does the same if you complain about someone getting money from your account or any other similar service.
They don't care. If they did, you would get a "we took action", "evidence was not enough".
"Hey Bank, someone had robbed me 10K here is proof"
"Bank: thanks for your report, we will not come back to you ever again."
-> two months later money still not in your account
"Bank: btw, we do care about these reports".
Games such as Overwatch and even Dota2 does it. Now in Dota2 you can even judge others report even.

yes I have been getting a response that my ticket was received even for the proper complaints.

are you comparing a hacker report in a video game to someone directly stealing money from your bankaccount?
better comparison: you are reporting a theft you witness in a shop to the cashier/owner. Are you expecting to get informed how/that the thief gets punished? and if they don’t tell you that means they don’t care about thieves?
and again: I would also appreciate a rework of the report system (make reports easier/more accessible, feedback on your reports etc); but just because we don’t get that doesn’t mean they don’t care or they don’t take action.
I tend to get reeeeeally cautious about declaring what is and is not an easy add to a codebase I do not have personal access to.
With games like Final Fantasy 14 they catalogue all their bans regarding RMT and hacking for the public so that people can both know that its actually being addressed, and can gauge their progress in "the arms race" to understand how hard they are/aren't working on it. No names or anything like that, just number of actions taken and for what reason. Running into a hacker in this game used to be like seeing a unicorn, now I see at least 2 or 3 every session and I don't have the storage space to record every match "just in case." The unacceptable prevalence paired with the lack of any real way of knowing how much is actually being done makes it look entirely ignored to the average player.

The way Valorant does it is pretty good. It doesn't say anything other than that action was taken based on a report you submitted. It 100% makes reporting feel more impactful compared to the system in place right now.
I do not take personal reports.
