dredge actually has annoyingly good antlioop
I seen someone say it was a breath of fresh air to have a non looping killer or anti loop. but his ability is like freddy, teleport but bigger scale, his antiloop is more effective id say because he has the pyramid head ability, cancel power and instant attack. he can attack instantly out of his teleport back to husk and he can stop his power to instant attack and because his cooldown is so fast he can catch you if you run away. running away will save extra 3 seconds per hit which adds up but honestly is some dumb counterplay but hey its the game design. and his darkness can actually make moonwalking and hiding stains easier and you cant instantly see other loops. this killer seems really strong overall maybe not at highest level like most killers but he still is strong. people just still suffer with him by swinging too early during a teleport mindgame or they are too ambitious with locker teleports. what do you guys think?

Can the survivor correctly determine 1) Where to exit the loop? and 2) Is that exit before the remnant teleport becomes viable? The quicker the survivor figures those two things out the more time they buy to make it to the next loop to repeat. Not all survivors are going to reconcile fast enough.
Kind of similar to Artist's Exit Loop Flowchart.
Leave the loop if you're not confident enough when he leaves the remnant in it. If for "darkness" you mean Nightfall, you can hear him perfectly even behind walls so you know exactly where he is even without paying attention to him (he doesn't even have a red stain when it's dark because he is "undetectable")
He moves slower than Nurse when leaving behind the remnant. You can either bait his tp or hold forward.
He is artist V2. Just leave the loop when he drops remnant and he will be slowed enough to make the next loop.
The antiloop is only good if the survivor allows the dredge to zone them. Other than that you can just W to other loops as he does his antiloop.
If you have a map with lot of chained loops / structures together than his anti loop is gone.
It happend to me on Coal Tower today. They had jungle gym into strong pallet structure, into jungle gym into long loop into shack. You place it, they leave to the next one, repeat. You are forced to just eat pallets and get looped anyway.
Btw Artist has way better antiloop and power than him. He is 100% not Artist v2.
He is like Artist just weaker in a Loop when playing against good Survivor its very Hard to even use his Anti Loop because Survivor know what to do
Btw only thing that makes Dredge maybe Stronger than Artist is his Mobility and Nightfall
It amazes me that people still think anti-loop is bad.
overrated killer, once the hype dies down people will realise it.
Dredge is going to be one of those killers where nightfall stomps weak survivors.
1) Survivors that do not understand the map layout of each pallet on the map will suffer from his nightfall mechanic
2) Survivors that are not effective at joining pallets and tile sets will fall for his Remanent
3) Directional audio cue when in nightfall might as well just give survivor's wall-hacks on the killer.
I think the only two strength that he has is that his mobility allows him to re-enter chases quickly after a hook and that he can zone-survivors with his Remanent if the loop is dead corner of the map.
What's wrong with antiloops? They're cute animals
ive never heard that term? can you elaborate
thats a good point that i forgot to bring up, i was mainly just going over how strong he is all around not his downsides.
ive played against him alot and what i CAN say is its not guaranteed. if he zones you to the area away from pallets youre screwed and if the other pallets are too far youre screwed. it only works in a pallet dense area and also he can teleport back and instantly move and swing, baiting it isnt gonna be much use if they follow you until youre right on it. thats why im saying he is pretty strong because he can zone you easily and his cooldown is so fast that he can instantly catch up. but yes you guys have a point if its a pallet dense area, but so far ive only had a few situations where that was true. so its like 5050 in my case of when his counterplay worked
i love you for that XD
well wes thats whats wrong, you have to predrop and lets be real you can predrop ecery pallet in the game, but that does NOT win you games. any killer who is smart will leave you after a few good pallets and then bam someone else wont predrop and finds out the hard way that antiloop killers can be pretty dang good at well antiloop and then when people get coralled to the place where the pallets are now gone they easily die speeding up the process for the killer. pre drop works against oni and dumb killers only. but as for why i dont like anti loop killers... i hate gens and i hate healing. i only like looping killers, so when they leave me it sucks because my friends i play with or the randoms typically die within seconds. but i mean they arent all that bad, pyramid head isnt so bad because there are tricks to dodging his ability, the only reason he has ever and still is annoying is that he can cancel his m2 for an instant attack. artist isnt that bad... i dont think, ive never gone against a good one tbh. dredge isnt so bad because you can run to another loop, its just when you have too much space between loops where its bad. you see what i mean? its not like theyre horrible its just some facets are annoying and some are fun, the main annoying thing is the same type of killers being released back to back, kinda like its annoying getting 3 legions in a row because of rift
Shouldn't you be screwed in a dead zone?
He is definitely A tier in my eyes. But I do think his biggest selling point is his map pressure, which is a good thing of course.
His anti-loop is decently strong, but definitely has some fair counterplay. Chaining pallet loops or just loops in general is very viable against him, but you have to be aware of lockers and try to predict when and where he might teleport to.
You can also try and mindgame his remnant at loops that break line of sight, since he can't see anymore if you are running towards his remnant, or doubling back. This is dependent on the loop size/form and remnant placement though.
At the beginning, there were some people that thought he had no anti-loop, because they didn't know he had the remnant. But I doubt anyone still thinks he has no anti-loop now. I guess the devs made that mistake with Sadako and noticed how that didn't turn out well at all.
i dont mean deadzone as in no pallets, i mean pallets being like 30 meters away
yeah his locker tp during nightfall is strong, you cant always tell if he is doing it during nightfall
If they are 30m away then you are in a dead zone or the other survivors used them.. again, shouldn't you be screwed in that situation?
Pre dropping works if other survivors rush the gens. After that there is still windows to use for other survivors in looping long enough so that all gens can be finished. But if survivors fail to do gens quickly then killer will win and end chases in the end quickly. But map like game there is 100 pallets so that will take a while.
well let me rephrase, i was at a loop where a pallet was literally 10 meters away and i couldnt even make it to that, his ability requires really close loops and good positioning to use the counterplay. deadzones are to be screwed yes.
welp it doesnt work normally, because lets be real... randos dont do that XD
stupid antiloop on paper but in practice it hardly pays off to warrant a nerf. he is too dependant on survivors making mistakes to win either by failing to hold w against the remnant thing or not reacting fast enough to his tp ( and not having dead hard) and he's always forced to tp to locked lockers wasting a lot of his time. plus his stupid directional sound he makes dredge is really not that good to deserve a nerf.
Which term?
I don't think his antiloop is that amazing. I've gotten a bit of value out of it but i still haven't been caught out by it as survivor.
Teleportation during nightfall is the real chase ability, and I've definitely gotten slapped via that.
artists exit flow chart
I personally find the fact you don't hear the dredge using the remnant really annoying.
the dredge simply sucks, period. he's easily the worst killer in the game, on par with sadako
I mean like the decision making pattern you have to follow against the killer:
Survivor Reaches Loop -> Artist places crows -> Survivor makes choice to play the loop or exit the loop -> Did Survivor choose correctly? -> Did the survivor leave room to make the next loop if necessary?
That's what outplaying that killer comes down to, when only looking at the core mechanics of a chase. Dredge plays out similarly. Did the survivor make the right choice and how quickly did they make it? That's the skill expression.
Good
An M1 Killer deserves it
Very true, but it has counterplay. Remember, survivors need counterplay, but one that is based on prediction. If it's based purely on reaction, then that means survivors can counterplay in a way that guarantees them to be succesful, which means the killer himself doesn't have counterplay against the survivor.
"i only like looping killers"
Looping killers is not a game objective.
Uh...no, he doesn't.
Dredge is honestly shaping up to be another 'perfect' killer, like Plague and Artist. Not too strong, not too weak, with the advantage of creative addons.
He's a bit weaker than Artist, as he has to permanently maintain a channel or the remnant vanishes.
He's probably sitting somewhere around high 'B' tier. Above Ceno and Demo, but below Plague and Artist.
The only edge he has over Artist is that his addons aren't crap.
He has plenty of downsides.
He's definitely good, but he's not at the level of some of the stronger killers.
Then...don't get zoned?
Run to the area of the loop furthest from his remnant and then 'threaten' to leave. If he keeps channeling, leave. Otherwise, resume looping. He's extremely slow while channeling.
What you are describing is true for most killers, in that if you're in an isolated loop, you're going down eventually. You shouldn't be able to loop a killer forever.
This
and that
But Im pretty sure Sluzzy would disagree...
Just leave the loop and chain to an adjacent tile. He has no power unless you stay at the tile
