So I managed to do it (yay!) with Head On, DS, Quick and Quiet, and Blastmine (although didn't have chance for Blastmine). Killer saw me at start of match, I got in one Head On stun but no void energy. After first hook I missed my first DS attempt (bummer) buuut after second hook I got in a Head On followed by DS and got the void energy I needed. So basically I needed to be downed/hooked for killer to get void energy and then I needed to be tunneled out which lucky me that's the killer I got.

I do think they should either adjust the challenge to be stuns only OR adjust the mechanic to always award void energy from stuns because right now you need the right variables to go your way in order to get your void energy.

WAIT WAIT WAIT you're saying DS can give me void energy??? Head on??

Hmm... And, what if you do a gen, just to have 3 or 6 void point, and going for the loop with a killer, waiting that he slap you near a pallet, and op, immediatly, the pallet in the face of the killer

Nope, I've done it all. I've slapped pallets when I had already secured myself 15 points, after a gen, running after the killer after they hooked someone. I even spied on a clown and waiting for him to kick a pumpkin

    Absolute desperation

Killer also has to have void energy for you to steal. So basically, you have to wait for someone to get hooked (most secure way for the Killer to get points), hope they dont deposit at a rift, THAN stun them without having a full bat of points yourself.

Best case scenario, this has to happen TWICE.

It's not working and im now 100% sure its bugged or I'm bugged. I even started bringing windows of opportunity to make sure im purposefully running only to places with undropped pallets.

All killers I've been stunning should have points, I even let myself get tunneled. Its kind of frustrating, I can't progress in the tome because of this.

If you are full on Void Energy or deposuted all of it it wont count cause you didn't "gain any". So to do this challenge best bet is to just ignore the objective. BHVR's brains have done it again!

That's exactly what I've been doing, avoiding gens and trying to get the killer to chase me so I can get this challenge over with and I get no points even when my bar is fully empty

The issue is the confusion comes in when it says 1 day and you wait the 1 day and its still not available. most people will see 1 day and think 24 hours later, not 1 day 14 hours

I think thats most people's logic and I was also one of the disappointed people

  • I feel like im the only one that hasnt experienced any DCs on neither killer or survivor. i feel lucky

  • I see some have answered you, so I will just add to that. You can definitely place traps during chases, you can also fake traps. And from personal experience 70% of the time the survivor will remain at the loop you trapped in front of them and try to outsmart you, which realistically is to your advantage only because they always mess up.

In general with all killers but especially hag, if a chase is lasting longer than a few seconds, leave, find someone else, kick a gen. If someone runs outside your web, leave them be, they will come back

Another thing is, don't feel like you are stuck on one side of the map, I always move my web as I move around and I never camp an area with gens, on purpose I mean. I dont start a match and look for gens to camp, i just start placing traps and looking for survivors. the quicker you manage to down someone the less survivors will be doing gens.

I strive to trap the areas where chases usually happen, middle map, big loops, survivors always go there and you're guaranteed an easy down.

Your web doesn't need to be close together, you can trap areas that are further away, so if you're in a chase survivors will gain confidence and think they're safe then boom. What I mean with this is having a trap or 2 that are more spaced out to a place where you know would be ran into. It all depends on the map and the situation but you got a lot of wiggle room

If you just started playing hag, test out different trapping and see what works for you. Hag mains have different playstyles and trap placement preferences.

  • thought it was me for a sec, but I only bring one boon 😥 i can breathe

  • I mean I would also give up on the hook if my teammates are being more unhelpful than the tutorial bots. But you know what, every time I try to do that, I get into the 4% and then I feel like well I need to stay if im that lucky.

  • I dont think I have ever DCed on purpose, I mean other than when I crash or the game just disconnects me, but I am at a point that if I see another Mr. Whisker, I'm out, just because I face him so much

What perks do you run? I run franklins, sloppy, monitor, and corrupt.

Maybe it's the franklins, maybe some survivors can't play against a hit and run killer without having an item to self heal in 4 seconds so they dc. Diagnosis: skill issue.

i run MYC, STBFL, scorge hook, and a slop perk slot between monitor and abuse, overcharge, pentimento usually. I dont have many killer perks, especially slow down perks, so I feel pretty limited

And I tend to avoid lobbies with flashlights. I dont like the idea that I cant run the perks I want because flashlights are so overpowered for hag and the only thing I can do in those situations is bring franklin's. I dont want to be a slave to franklin's, so I just skip those lobbies

I used to love monitor and abuse with nurse's calling, since you can see the survivors when they can't hear your terror radius. I loved sneaking up to survivors healing in the corners. maybe i should play that but then again, claudettes tend to dc when a haggie slaps them in a corner and that will ruin the no dc streak

I should also mention that I don't play killer often, so I guess I'm low on the MMR?? or no?? The survivors I face are either really bad and panicy, or they're so confident and bad at the same time that they fork the salad as one might say

  • am I playing haggie wrong? no one DCs from my games

  • nah getting someone's item who is dead is like a present for christmas. take it, enjoy it and let the mad stay mad

Just because it's intended doesn't make it good design. They gave nurse the ability to have 5 blinks as an intended feature does that make it a good design choice? Doctor originally had way more visual stimulus when in madness to the point where people actually complained that it was a visual overload so it was toned down. His original design was intended to be like that but the developers decided that it wasn't a good design and changed it.

It is good design though, but I see that the real reason you're unhappy is because you don't know how to face and run Hag. It's neither overpowered nor unavoidable. If something is not exactly easy for you to counter or you need to learn a new method, doesn't mean a whole killer power has to be nerfed.

Hag mains have made entire discords helping and teaching players how to place traps strategically to use that part of her power well. And if you know how to put it, you know how to avoid it.

Now, I'm not the type of hag main that relies heavily on the camera flip, but I know hag mains that use that primarily and just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it needs to be nerfed. Again, it's not overpowered or uncounterable

Jerking the camera around without the players control has always been considered bad camera design especially when your camera orientation controls the direction of your character.

You can even look at elden ring when fighting certain large opponents if you use your lock on I makes the camera jerk around. No one was like oh that's intended to make the fight harder nope its considered crappy camera controls.

It's a part of her power, it's intended

While I agree with you that situation is annoying. If everyone only plays selfishly all the time the escape rate will be even lower than it is right now.

Too many people already play selfishly instead of playing smart as a team. It's pretty mind blowing how there are so many people playing DbD that don't understand some basic strategy or the game.

It really shows in the stats too.

Most play in SWF and those same SWF groups will have no trouble leaving the solo player instead of helping when they're able to. SWF don't show team play to anyone else other than their buddies. There are exceptions to this, but if you're a solo player and you can leave, you leave.

If you think you can save without going down yourself, ok, but otherwise, it's best to leave.

  • if you're solo, play selfishy

I've made the mistake of saving randoms whilst i had an opportunity to leave and then i end up hooked and being left

I think it is reasonable for crowns and legacy to be exclusive, or even charms, but basic clothing stuff seems silly to me personally. The most reaction a legacy has ever gotten from me is "oh neat".

And I'm not sure, full sets have come back but none of the singular cosmetics ever have, and it has been 2 years or so since they last had one on a rift. I'm not asking for BHVR to give them up for free I just wanna grab some that I missed for Auric Cells or Iri Shards. The Ace one is the only cosmetic for him that I don't have and it happens to be one of my favorites because it is purple.

I mean i missed a few rifts and I will never get the charms just because I didnt play back when they were available. Its the same logic with the items I had exclusively. It's illogical to me.

  • @Dinoraptus said:

So you are upset about the availibility post the Death of Deathgarden in general? As in including the way to get it later?

I mean at least you are consistent but I still don't understand the harm in letting people have them, agree to disagree I guess. Thanks for taking the time to comment and have a civil discussion with me though. Not sarcastic, like genuinely.

This is just my point of view. To me, it's a slap in the face because I know that I dedicated time and money and I felt like this was my reward for it. I took a huge break from the game, so I missed a whole bunch of things, including updates of giving exclusive items and even stopping Stranger things. I would've purchased some skins before they got removed permanently from the Store.

The game has a weird "we don't want exclusive items, but there are exclusive items" type of situation. Some Rift items are exclusive, which contradicts the non-exclusivity logic. Some skins are exclusive, which also contradicts the logic. And it just so happened that my exclusive items got unexclusivifed which was not a word up until now, but i made it one! And i was definitely mad when I was told that the masks are in everyone's inventory.

In general, it's illogical and realistically, the items you mentioned probably won't show up in the store for a few months

  • @Dinoraptus said:

I'm not really sure what we are even arguing about then.

And yes, I understand that you did all of that for Deathgarden, but those masks were given away just for having a version of the game in your Steam Library, they were given out for free because players were still getting them by adding the game to their library, even years after Deathgarden had already died. The only people that had no possible way of getting them were non-Steam players.

None of the additional stuff you did for Deathgarden had any impact on those masks.

What you're talking about was long after.

When I played the Alpha, it could only be added to steam with a special key received via email to the player that got accepted to participate

  • @Dinoraptus said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3226839#Comment_3226839

You didn't do anything difficult and were given a free cosmetic, and like I said before, you could still get those cosmetics on Steam up until they gave them out for free. Legacy was for players who had been playing from the beginning that had put hours into leveling the old system. But I am not asking for legacy, I am asking for the opportunity for new players to BUY old FREE cosmetics. They are all recolors and weren't hard to unlock, no grinding like legacy, you just had to be playing during the time they were availible.

I don't understand the mentality of not wanting players to have access to a different colored shirt just because they didn't know about the game on a specific date and time.

As I said, I don't mind Rift items being available, but some items should be exclusive. This has been contradicted and flawed logic has been applied.

For the items I referred to, the players that did nothing got what was exclusive items for free. I applied for a closed Alpha of a game, I played it and provided feedback, I got in the beta, I played and provided feedback, I paid with money for the game when it came out, and then less than a year later the game for discontinued and I had these 2 items to show that I participated in something, supported Behavior, spent both my time and money on them and then they put out the items for everyone.

  • @Dinoraptus said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3226831#Comment_3226831

You were still able to get the Deathgarden masks on steam by adding the alpha to your library, they were given for free because the only players being locked out of them were people not playing on Steam. Console players and other PC platform players were never even given a chance to obtain them.

And in what way are old players "punished" they were given a free costmetic for just playing the game during a specific time frame. I would understand people being upset if they gave away something like legacy for free, as this was actually a difficult grind to unlock, but these are not even comparable.

The Alpha was long gone before the dbd was available on other platforms other than Steam. This was in 2018.

And it was a closed Alpha. I still have the emails from that time

  • @Dinoraptus said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3226805#Comment_3226805

What is the harm in letting new players BUY and equipt cosmetics that you not only got for free, but had exclusively for years? It just seems like a strange mentality to me, especially since owning them comes down to playing at the right time more than anything.

You don't play DBD to collect exlusive cosmetics, you play it to have fun as survivor/killer.

I had applied for the Alpha of Deathgarden, I got accepted, I played that game, I provided feedback. I also participated in the Beta and paid the game when it came out. Because of this I got exclusive items and then they were given out for free.

So imagine you get a reward for something you've done and then that same reward goes to everyone, it doesn't feel nice. And by that logic, why don't all players have Legacy?

In my opinion, some items should stay exclusive like some charms are

  • @LapisInfernalis said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3226782#Comment_3226782

The Devs said multiple times that there won't be any cosmetics (minus charms maybe) that are completely exclusive anymore (because these or the accounts were sold for hundreds of dollars). The only exclusive stuff that still exist are limited cosmetics, tournament rewards and Legacy. Everything else is time exclusive.

I mean accounts with many exclusive charms, limited cosmetics, legacy and tournament rewards can still be sold for hundreds of dollars. And what about the Stranger things chapter, it's exclusive now as well as all store cosmetics for these characters. The logic is flawed, and respectfully punished old players who had these exclusive items that are no longer exclusive.

I can understand the Rift items coming back in the Store, but I think that items that were exclusive prior to the store coming out or the Rift should have stayed exclusive like Legacy.

The items I specifically mentioned were released before the Store, before the Tomes, before the Rift.

The Meg mask and Trapper mask were given to only players who played the Alpha of Deathgarden. You had to apply for the alpha and had to be accepted to participate. Same with the Beta and many like me, also paid for the game when it released. So I do strongly feel specifically that those items should have stayed exclusive instead of being given for free and it does feel unfair that items like charms can remain exclusive but the masks can't

  • @FeryGEN said:

No, there must be at least some kind of encouragement for those who have been playing for a long time.

That was kind of thrown out the window when the devs granted previously exclusive items for everyone. Like golden feng or the Meg mask which used to be an exclusive to players who played the Alpha version of Deathgarden.

It was really disappointing to me to come back to the game after a near 2-year break to see that my exclusive items were no longer exclusive but given to all players for free.

So using a filter to be able to see survivors easier when they are hiding is ok? Are you even sure that it's ok to use filters to give you an advantage in game? It all honestly may be a bannable offense by the DBD team, I would at least ask before using them.

It's not bannable, someone sent you official responses, but also the game developers can disable this feature if they want to. Since it's not blocked and people can put filters. There are certain games where the developers have disabled this feature and you cant use it

Just like Shadowplay, when it switches off automatically, so you can't record when you open Netflix, filters can be turned off by the developers

its the same if i would answer you if you have a low end pc or low end monitor take it up to the store and get a decent one.

everyone got to have the same possibilities, using 3rd company stuff to increase such thing as visibility creates unfair advantage.

Its a feature that comes with the video card. It's not an illegal program and if its available it's allowed.

Consoles are closed platforms. What this means is that its complicated for developers to add certain features, even troubleshooting technical issues can be a problem and a complicated process. Everything that happens on console needs to go through Sony or Microsoft respectfully.

If you have issues with your console, even connection issues, you need to take it up with either Microsoft or Sony. This is not the same for PC. PC is the opposite, in this case the game support team can send me troubleshooting for my connection issue or my lag, or my technical issue. I don't need to contact my video card manufacturer.

If you want filters on console, you do need to take it up with the company that makes your console.

PC and console are incomparable in these regards

ive no idea why PC users are allowed to use such things as nvidia filters while console players can't even adjust gamma or brightness.

this is a PC game originally, and most games allow filters. Just because you're not happy with something on console, doesn't mean that most of the player base which are using PC have to suffer.

Filters help with visibility only. Some might have low end PCs, or low end monitors, they might have issues with their sight

And if you would like filters on console, take it up to the companies - Sony and Microsoft

If you want tips, another former Hag main here too.

    1. Make a controlled spammable teleport button. I don't know if it would be some button or mouse wheel, but you need to spam it during gameplay to immediately teleport. But I said "controllable", so you could stop spam at any given moment, I'll tell why later.
    2. Always set up the web, always! You cannot have 9 available traps on your hand, you're the weakest at that moment. You always must have a web zone which you are gonna protect and drag survivors into. Outside of your web you are nothing, inside you are the nightmare.
    3. Hag doesn't chase!!! She is slow and weak. She works like spider and lure survivors into her web. If you're running after survivor more than 10 seconds and without any trap nearby, you doing it wrong.
    4. If survivor step on your trap - replace it (if it's not temporary loopblocking trap outside of your web), see part 2.
    5. Corall survivor into your trap while chasing him. Use mindgames (for example if survivor trigger trap on one side of the pallet, and you're on the other, don't teleport immediately, wait for his move, if he stays too long, teleport and hit, if he goes towards you, you know what to do)
    6. There are two different playstyles - "Rusty Shackles" addon and no "Rusty Shackles" (I'm not talking about Shoe addon, it's more meme). Rusty shackles require you to place traps in jumpscare positions, where you can appear out of nowhere and hit/grab. General gameplay is to place traps a little off path, so survivor is forced to swerve of his path and lose time.
    7. Primarily place traps in hidden spots (in the grass) or unexpected ones (like open area between two points of interest where survivors are likely to run)
    8. The main Hag perk is Franklin's Demise. Besides the huge trouble flashlights give you, dropped items create additional "point of interest". Trap it immediately, greedy survivor always return for their items.
    9. Losing 3 gens at the start without even zero hit is normal Hag match. First you need to choose your zone to protect and set up your web. Without web you're nothing, I repeat. Ideally you get 3-4 gens in your web and drag downed survivors into it. Always maintain your web.
    10. You can move your web if survivors managed to make it useless (like did gens in it), but web should always be!
    11. Seasoned survivors and SWF will give you headache. They will trigger your traps from a safe distance, bait you to drop chase and if hit, go to safe zone outside your web and reset. It is war of attrition and nothing Hag could do except to protect her web. Replace traps in different tricky places, surprise them and protect the gens.
    12. If there is a chance to drag survivor into killer shack, that's mostly gg. Free escape from Hag's shack possible only if Hag did sloppy performance. If one survivor is in the shack, that means at least one is dead at the end. They can trade themselves one for one with high risk, but the result is the same. If not, you're doing it wrong.
    13. Hag require strategic gameplay more than any killer, even more than trapper. Watch how Pro's doing on YT (I highly recommend "Michi")

its sad that my haggie needs franklin's but when a click of a flash can make a trap go bye bye, its necessary. I hope devs change this in the future

back in the day, destroying traps with a flash was a nuisance since it took 2-3 seconds and drained a lot of the flash charges

  • How to boost this so devs see?

Dunno, Hag is literally THE jumpscare killer of this game, I think the chase theme definitely fits in-game. Not worth being listened outside of it though.

because she is the jump scare killer, i dont want her to have silly music attached to her. and if survivors hated her before, they're about to hate her even more. the chase music is really bad, dc worthy

And I mean in general, I dont like music attached to any killer, but this is bad. The first and second bit I can live with, but the chase music

  • 🤔 just as i feared, the chase music is too much

the approaching music would be nice as a chase

    im genuinely scared

  • im 90% sure i won't like the music

... would this be the change that will force me to quit playing hag?

and yes i would stop playing a killer because of their music and yes i am that dramatic )

  • There are a few reasons why Haggie is not played much.

She requires skill. You need to know how to play her effectively, and most dislike her because she is not easy to play as and most players have faced hags that just don't know how to play her.

The community in general thinks that hag players put 10 traps at hooks and camp or tunnel or both. The reality is, hag mains either don't trap hooks at all or place no more than 1 trap. And most hag mains don't camp nor tunnel. They leave the hooked area entirely. The mistake comes when one steps on a trap, and the logical thing is that hag will teleport. Just like Trapper would go to a survivor in a bear trap.

It's a misconception and no matter how much hag mains try to defend and explain how they play and how it is not "campy", the advocate hag haters never listen or even try to comprehend what is being said to them.

Most importantly, every time someone tries to defend hag, it ends up with an argument with someone who in fact doesn't play her.

To me, there is an irrational, illogical hate towards this killer which is why she is not played

Ah, and also, when playing vs hag, you need to play differently and a lot of survivors don't like adapting their gameplay to benefit them when facing certain killers.

  • i use balanced landing, because i like to jump off buildings

    off the record for tunnelers

resilience for no reason; that my swap perk slot

and eboony: circle of healing for the bloodpoints and also helps out myself and other players
