At this point I'm waiting for it to be something like "Hey, those graphical updates are going to apply to bloody cosmetics as well. Now your prestige is even more rewarding."

Not a bad guess. Here's mine. One of two things can happen:

1.) It's a great reward but now everyone like me who didn't prestige at all as to suffer for so long just to get this

2.) it's a terrible reward and nothing changes

    Oh boy can't wait.

Except equipping Hex Perks is optional, while being hooked is an integral part of the game.

I feel that the chance to lose a 1/4 or more of your loadout shouldn't really be straddled on killers. Why do we have the ability to lose a perk forever before it even got used, while survivors have 16 perks and hardly ANY of them are single use.

  • @OniWantsYourMacaroni said:

It seems like a very nice idea but i could see it being problematic in a way that you can't hold your blinks anymore without making your second blink way too short, because you've drained to much power holding the first blink

But at least that will be the players choice. You can choose to short your 2nd blink or wait. Right now it's not the players choice to decide when they want to blink, they have to wait for the next blink or they're #########. Very little player agency in that scenario.

What I hate most about her rework is that it changed her from a player driven choice machine to a strict "do this" and "do that" or you pretty much lose now.

I don't believe I said she didn't need addons to be more effective.

You're implying the cooldown doesn't majorly effect her gameplay, which is flat out wrong. Both CD addons means you get to blink 50% more than normal. That's post-nerf, before that you could blink slightly more than that. If the change is as big as 50%, then it has quite the impact on gameplay.

  • @GoshJosh said:

Survivors are also denied escape points if downed while escaping the trial. If they fix the escape points too, I'm down.

That's what, 5k or 6k points? I wouldn't be opposed to it but you're not really losing anything you weren't already.

For killers though, we lose not only bloodpoints but also emblems because they get free escapes by running out of the game.

  • @Iceman said:

I'm quite confused when people say this. You're testing out the killer. So isn't it better to go against these kind of survivors to see how well you do against them?

Maybe after you've had some practice. PH is an extremely hard killer to master with his range attack, it's not something you want 4 ######### t-bagging after every miss while learning.

Unless my math is wrong her power bar delays her by 1 second. Hardly debilitating.

Go ahead and play her without the range or CD addons. Survivors can literally run in straight lines to avoid you for easily 5 blinks. The cooldown removed the skill it took to juke or dodge her and now anyone with 2 braincells to rub together can outrun an addonless Nurse.

Oh i understand i was just simply saying you can't just say its only one side doing it both do it was the point its ptb people oddly take ptb serious and sweat it just happens reason why i avoid ptb lmao.

This game attracts extremely toxic people, and the PTB is just their chance to have a no-regrets try everything bully session. Extra toxic for the toxic toxiciness.

  • @thrawn3054 said:

Are you referring to the addition of the power bar or the various bugs that have cropped up? To me the power bar is honestly a nonissue. It would mess with the timing people used to have down for her. But by now they should have adapted. If you mean the bugs, then yes they need fixed.

The power bar was a sloppy addition by people who don't play her.

If they did it like PH's powerbar though, it might be different.

  • @MonsterInMyMind said:

I mean this could be said for killers as well i dont play the ptb but when i did i cant tell you how many facecamping leatherface's and a bunch of other things i saw.

No doubt this happens. Both are sad and stupid. At least when a killer tries to be toxic though, there are 3 other people who can help you. It feels very different when there's 4 people bullying you.

@OP I just had someone try and be toxic chase god but failed and got downed within a minute. If you're gonna be toxic, at least git gud enough to back it up like yikes.

Well yeah there’s that (and believe me I think it’s healthy to shake up the meta).

But there will be times it’s unavoidable to down a survivor that isn’t yet afflicted with Torment, which means either slugging or putting them on the hook. So hook perks aren’t entirely useless on him. Probably not a great perk choice, but not useless.

Yup that's my experience so far. You'll hook a few people for sure but it's not worth trying to invest in hook perks when you can end a chase, cage them, and continue with pressure/chasing/etc...

  • The new map is GARBAGE to me for any killer besides Nurse or Hag. The hallways it forces you to walk down before you can leave the 2nd story or interior building is bleeeehhhhhhhhh. Nurse might actually have an advantage here if you can blink really well.

But yeah the rest of your post I agree with 100%

    -She's weaker than ever

-She's more broken by bugs than ever

-She's the least fun she's ever been

-Her addon pass was a failure

And I'm EXTREMELY tired of ghost hits, dead zones, and having to run only 2 addons (CD) while the rest are useless or bugged to hell.

  • @Karltastisk said:

its super annoying. And if its not changing then i will not enjoy playing that killer. This is like post oni nerf all over again.

Yeah that's my biggest problem with him rn. Aiming the attack should be challenging but only because of your skill, not because it's flinging your vision around like crazy. It's already an ability you need to be fairly precise with, why the extra flick challenge on top.

  • @DrDeepwound said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1307273#Comment_1307273

thats called an excuse but not a legit reason tbh. They could easily make only the new killer available etc and give 1 mil bloodpoints or something to level em to 50ish, saying its because so people dont play other killers for free is for the gullible.

Exactly. If that was the issue just make PH free and all perks unlocked on him. Then all we need do is farm addons which is x1000 better than having to farm to level 50, get all perks, AND get addons.

I get why they don't lock all killers, because if a new gamebreaking bug pops up on another killer that no one on PTB ever had a chance to play and it goes to live that would be terrible. With that logic, there is no reason not to unlock everything since people will still play things other than the new or changed content.

I can agree to not every addon, but there is no reason we don't have a level 50 all perks maxed character to use in PTB.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

You’re right though that Pyramid Head requires strategy. He needs to choose between saving loads of time (sending to a cage) yet forfeit any perk ability that would require a hook unhook, or spend the time hooking a survivor. Both come with risks and pros.

10,000 IQ don't run any hook perks so you never have to worry about that choice

  • @Thatbrownmonster said:

I don't think thats a huge reason to play as him when there is a new killer in the ptb

if it was a major change to clown more people would be playing him

I was gonna hop on Nurse and see what new delightful game-breaking bugs we got with this patch but the wait time is too damn long for that.

  • It seems viable to use it in chase to zone or set-up a cage. Similar to Clown and Freddy, but a weaker version of that.

  • Game desperately needs it. Tired of not playing perfectly and watching a SWF get all gens done in less time than it took to find the lobby. What was fun about holding m1 for 3 minutes then bming as you leave? I don't get it.

I hope they make the early game actually fun instead of "oh god I hope I find and down someone within 30 seconds or I pretty much lose!"

There are games where I literally find someone in 10 seconds and down them in about 20 and I will still have 3 gens pop in a minute. It's insanely stupid.

  • @Dr_Loomis said:

I always thought one way of deterring this kind of tomfoolery would be to have a kind of separate EGC in the exit gate area.

If a survivor spends a certain amount of time in the exit gate area, the Entity kills them for being a rosette-winning nincompoop.

No no, instead if you crouch more than 5 times total in the exit area you are instantly killed.

  • @Maelstrom10 said:

Ruin - helps immensely with the now run soul guard preventing people from wanting to cleanse it. Also you can put a trail next to your totem and proxy camp it if they know where it is.

(Surveillence could pair very well with this, and his "trails" ability, giving a lot of gen pressure through knowledge of gens being worked on)

stbfl - allows you to get off more hits in a shorter amount of time. pairs well with his rite of judgement to follow up on attacks, much like shred on demogorgon. also since rite of judgement is a nonstandard killer attack if you get very good at landing them im pretty sure you don't lose stacks for attacking the obsession which is a neat little bonus.

Discordance - allows for good info early and late game, forces spreading on gens (pairs will with deathbound.) Also with his ability to multi-hit survivors, discordance can give you the info you need to possibly get to where multiple survivors are. Its hard to hit but super rewarding to pull off acting as a through the walls multi shot huntress hatchet.

Dark devotion - hit the obsession, and go for others, or leave and come back. either way screws with his terror radius and they might think your running one of his default perks.

Deathbound - Not the best perk on him, but one of his defaults, and promotes either all healing (wastes time and gives you undetectable on them) and sticking together, all healing and staying apart (which gives you stealth and pressure) or staying injured to prevent the scream effect (grants pressure through staying injured.) The info gain, and the potential to force them into doing either one thing or the other gives less to focus on and is allround a very good perk.

Tinkerer - Ironically not a perk people would automatically think is good on him, but with his ranged attack, being able to know when a gen is near popping, sneaking up on them and using your rite of judgement to hit them through a wall at peak range without them knowing your near is Spicy to say the least. Helps prevent people popping gens, and gives you stealth.

Pop goes the weasel - doesn't work on his cages (so you have to hook people negating the cage portion of his power) HOWEVER. with his built in tracking from rite of judgement, you can proxy camp gens very easily by placing trails around a gen giving you info when people return to them in a 3gen strategy. also pairs well with trial of torment (Which by god i hope is buffed)

Make your choice - pairs well with people healing against deathbound. Gives you info on the healing, and allows you to instant down the rescuer no matter where they chose to heal, under hook or safely away. Also if paired with nemesis and furtive chase (a entire 4 perk combo mind you so you may want to think about it before risking your entire build on it.) allows you to ALWAY'S sneak up on the rescuer and instantly down them. the only way to counter this is to not heal at all, which puts everyone at risk (or only healing non-obsessions which reveals them with deathbond anyways) Very dirty build.

Sloppy butcher - slows healing. very good perk all round tbh.

I love Tinkerer on Nurse for the reasons you said, however that's because she can get to them in under 8 seconds which is the max time? I believe you have with a single person on a gen with no toolbox after it triggers before it pops. If he had map travel I would encourage a fellow killer to use it but sadly he lacks that.

It's a way to have multiple characters from a franchise without needing separate sets of perks (and separate progression) for each. You're visually a different character with different animations and all, but that's it. You don't need to level them up again, and there's no additional perks attached to it.

    image.png

  • I'm guessing it's a way for them to add survivors without having to add perks.

Now they can just get whatever skin they want and call it a legendary skin without having to spend resources designing their perks. Boom done.

  • If anything they now know what the community wants in terms of licensed killers.

If the new one turns out to be poop we can expect the next few to be much better.

  • I only ever saw bits and pieces of his movies when I was young. Not something that fascinated me very much so I was never interested in Pinhead. Looked like another kind of Saw with too much focus on gore and not story.

If you are talking about the ghost saw: This bug has been around for over 2 years now. Either they don't think it's important enough to fix the problem, or they just have no idea where this bug comes from (but that's very unlikely).

Can confirm, multiple game-breaking bugs for years with no light in sight on Nurse.

I disagree. You need to seperate swf from solo gameplay and balance both differently. Why? Because one of the core points of the game is a lack of information. Your solution changes that very core of the game, that some people acutally enjoy.

They'd argue that they've introduced so many aura perks and information perks that solos could be near SWF but we all know that's completely untrue.

One day they'll have to acknowledge the gap between solo and SWF. But it will be too large to tackle by then.

Okay but they're not bullying the killer they're just playing the game having fun. That's what I don't understand is a lot of people that think SWF is overpowered because of comms don't understand that most of the time a group of SWF are literally just playing the game and trying to have fun. It's almost like the killers that complain about SWF don't even think about that, they only think about SWF being bullies and playing seriously when usually that's not even the case. Whatever though.

No, we think about it. Buy why does their fun have to be our suffering? Also, if it takes just 4 casuals some comms to make killers think they're toxic SWF, maybe SWF BY IT'S VERY NATURE IS OVER POWERED AND NEEDS TO BE BALANCED!?

Still didnt grab her because why should I. Maybe it's a good idea when you deny that grab few times to give the grab straight away after few "failed" grabs because you literally see your hand(or claw... whatever killer has at the moment 🤣) grabbing that twat XD

Try playing Nurse and going for grabs. I'm lucky if they get injured, usually they just walk away mid grab while i get double punished. How fun.

To be honest I just brush it off I mean I’m not the kind of person that Explodes over losing cause we can’t always expect to win every game. I mean even when I play as a Claudette main and killer Doctor main killers have bad days to and lose in game.

I’m not saying you explode though I wanted to make that clear in case you thought I was saying or pointing that you’re one of those people.

No it's ok I totally explode sometimes haha.

It's not that losing causes my problems in this game, it's the fact that everyone has to be extremely toxic while doing it. I've never seen a community more toxic and crawling with people that should burn for way more than eternity than DbD.

  • @NinjaDette1 said:

In all honesty I get that you are upset and feel the game is not satisfying for you. My suggestion to you is go play another game until then🤷‍♂️.

I take at least a week long break after a really bad day or two. Nothing in this game right now is anywhere near fun enough even at it's peak to warrant all the abuse and frustration you must climb to get it. When you're fresh after a while you can have a few fun days but then it's break time again before you know it.

  • Too bad you won't play Nurse. That's a pretty hard game with no addons right now considering she's more bug than killer.

  • If you had argued that the game was terribly unfun the further you progressed and the matching is nothing but a cesspool of disgusting and vile human garbage you might have had a point.

But arguing for your money back on a games as a live service... doing the live service and changing the game you have nothing to stand on.

Pretty sure it's macmillans she's talking about. Only map with a bone icon.

As for OP, if you are talking about macmillans (honestly why didn't you just say the map name lol.) It's def not as bad as some old maps. I'm personally fine with all macmillan varients.

If you are talking about Azarovs, then you should just play for a 3 gen. Protect one side and make sure they don't complete a gen on that side. If you try and pressure the entire map then you'll only loose, but if you only focus on one side then you'll be good.

I forgot the name of it but I found out it's Azarov's Resting Place.

    image.png

If you 3-gen it's not bad; but I try to play as a "nice killer" that doesn't tunnel or camp, try not to use scummy stuff but on this map if you don't see someone on BBQ all you can do is camp that side of the map. It's just meh design imo, cool idea but doesn't work in real games.

  • I can't speak for everyone but I have a supply of 50+ of them on my main killer. I don't usually use them. However, if I'm having an off day or survivors are really starting to be toxic and piss me off I'll switch to my Moris and go to town the second anyone does something out of line. Maybe more people are just tired and everyone is out of line for them lol.

  • I get facecamping is unfun and pretty braindead; but if you can't get at least 2 survivors escaped out of it then it was your own fault. It takes 2 minutes to fully kill someone on hook from start to finish. Since the killer can only camp 1 person at a time (usually) that means 3 people on 3 different gens will get them done before that survivor dies. Then if he camps again, 2 survivors on the last 2 and you escape.

Not fun or skillful but it only get's as much reward as survivors give it.

You are supposed to be stronger than a survivor if your skill is at the same level.. (or the gap is min.) Sadly the matchmaking doesnt make fair match (for now) and sometimes you find a baby killer/survivor potato and match is completely unfair.

My points is that killer main must stop complain about every survivor perks and viceversa (there are only few things really broken like irihead, ebony mori, keys), after 2 years of survivor nerfs the game is pretty balanced right now and we need more buff than nerfs (clown? Almost 30% of perks?) IMHO

I agree we're definitely in one of the better spots DbD has been in. I like to point out that if it took 2 years of survivors nerfs for the game to enter into a more healthy state with minimal killer nerfs along the way, that should showcase how lopsided this game is at it's highest levels of play which is ideally where the devs should try to balance because if they ignore it the highest level of play becomes "abuse whatever is the most broken" because noobs won't be able to do it so it won't ever get dealt with.

Or in DbD's case whatever is most popular and buys cosmetics. Cough swf cough.

  • @hagling said:

pls continue, demo is so rare atm and i love seeing him in the wild.

imo the problem with the whole 'you must play top tier killers at red ranks if you wanna win' thing is that it's self-proving. if people are too scared to main uncommon killers at red ranks, they don't get to practice with those killers, therefore when they do play them, they lose. stay determined and prove 'em all wrong.

You do hit a ceiling at some point though and other killers will have a higher one than some of the more niche. It would be amazing if nearly all killers were close to equal in strength though wouldn't it

  • @Lanis_ said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/154393/nerfs-in-2020

Seriously stop asking devs to nerf survivors. The last thing any survivor's perk, BT or DS need right now is a nerf. Do you seriously want there to be no survivor player base? This isnt a 1v1 and youre not garaunteed an 4k every game.

From the survivor perspective it makes sense that you can't 1v1 the killer... that'd be stupid and the game wouldn't have 4 survivors.

From the killer perspective it makes sense that you can 1v1 a survivor. You're the killer after all, you're supposed to be stronger than a single survivor that's why there's four survivors.

  • @Blueberry said:

About 90% of the killer roster needs varying degrees of buffs, with some still needing addon reworks.

And some needing addon rework reworks... :(

  • If his shred worked like blink where you could use it not at full charge for lesser distance I would probably use Demo more.

But since his power can be completely controlled by survivors and you have to have a minimum charge time to shred he's just meh and not worth it when Nurse does what he is trying to do but better.

Yeah I'm confused. I was on a team of survivors that had Adrenaline and they all got healed the second the gen pops.

I've lost many games to the same kind of toxic set-up, so idk what you're talking about.
