That's funny. Meanwhile I've made a post detailing exactly why I find 110% Killers to be fundamentally better than 115% Killers.
The reasoning being that by being 110% they can afford to lean into their power more for chases and general mobility, which allows them to break up the usual chase dynamics for something more interesting.
I'm all for killers that have to rely on their power to do pretty much anything. Way more interesting and unique than another wait until your CD is off and use your power then go to m1 killers we keep getting.

Seems like it would be pretty tough making add-ons for such a power.
No doubt. But it would be pretty chill. Imagine being in a chase then cutting through a key wall unexpectedly and get that juicy hit. Imagine predicting which wall he is going to go through and then running in such a way that he's completely screwed and has to double back on a long loop.

I don't think she should be a 110% Nurse with a clunkier power. Just sounds like a strictly more boring Nurse.
Where are you guys comparing Spirit to Nurse? From a survivors perspective I guess they're similar, but from a killers POV they are completely different. One goes through things, the other turns invisible and walks around them.
-
@Rivyn said:
I've been curious about this. He's just Myers with Nurse teleport. Spirit phasing, Trappers body, and built in Enduring/Brutal Strength. . .
Maybe give him a meter like Oni, that fills as he takes actions, and when maxed, can simply walk through pallets and breakable walls? Maybe even vault locations?
I've had a killer idea similar to this.
Power: Walk through a wall. Recharges every 3~5 seconds.
Like an m1 walking Nurse that would make Tinkerer the single scariest perk in the game.

@Munqaxus said:
I think the problem with Nurse right now is that no one can really learn her. Before you had perks that acted like training wheels for new Nurse players. Now, you have nothing that will help you learn Nurse. So really, only old Nurse players will ever play her, everyone else will avoid her. At some point, she'll never see play. Her skill ceiling is to high for anyone to learn at this point.
The problem is that the changes to her basekit were done at the same time as the addons, and ALL of the changes (barring like 6 good addons) were clearly done by a team of people who don't play or understand Nurse. It shows so badly at every little spot it can from the useless addons to the incredibly poorly done cooldown to the egregious gamebreaking bugs that are common.

Bhvr won't replace totem spawns because it or be super easy or super difficult to find. What if you are playing against a killer with devour hope and it is literally in a crate?
Flip side: No point in ever using totems if they're just going to spawn literally right next to a survivor/their only objective.
Bonus points:

Well as a red rank killer learning Nurse on Xbox for a few weeks..she is the best killer even on console. When you understand her survivors will have a very hard time, even many SWF groups can be taken out easy if the map is smaller.
I promise you big maps destroy Nurse now.
I'm a pretty good Nurse, and on the bone shaped map it's virtually impossible for me to win if survivors are playing smart and I'm not playing super scummy. It takes too long to cover large ground AND be effective in chases. Still a great killer (marred and destroyed by bugs) but not the single best one anymore.
-
That's a big issue right now, MM is wonky as hell and providing terrible games just to make sure they're somewhat timely.
You'll probably be happy to know they are working on an MMR system instead of the current rank based system we have now. It's better for competitive games and should hopefully match us with more equally skilled people instead of people who are purposefully farming their rank/deranked through time. I find it funny though, they implement competitive based solutions/baind-aids for this game yet will die on a hill saying it's a casual game. hmmm 🤔

While talking about whether nurse is the best killer or not, I think it is important to consider her theoretical and practical skill cap. In theory, she fundamentally ignores the game mechanics and can wreck for sure--provided that you don't encounter her miles long bug list, stun stimulation, and have put the crazy amount of hours into her. In practice, she feels gross to play, she is a bug monster, and is very punishing. I can toss on Spirit and still wreck a swf without all of the bugs or frustration.
To the average player, I think Spirit has a more accessible basekit that you will do well with without needing to put a million hours into her.
You make points but something that bugs me, just because she ignores the regular pallets and windows doesn't mean there aren't any tools left for survivors. Yeah pallets and windows aren't very good against her, but in their place are walls and LOS breaking. People act like just because you can't ring around the rosie a pallet/window means there isn't anything you can do.
-
@Snowstruck said:
Like the temple map glitch? People were abusing it by going through the open window, knowing that the killer will have to go around because it is bugged.
@Respectfulnancymain said:
Examples?
One example, as someone else guessed Nurse related was my main complaint but things like fat shaming are what I'm talking about. Things that aren't supposed to be happening and survivors abuse it for an ez win with minimal effort.

She can't be looped, that's why she has immense power if you use it right.
But it's just sad that you nearly always have to play against 6 survivors (4 + dedicated servers + bugs).
Yup. I love having to fight survivors and servers and my own buggy character lol.
-
No other game has a character or experience like Nurse. As much as I can hate this game sometimes, it will always have that.
Until someone releases and actual competitor to DbD that isn't IdentityV.

As a Nurse main I feel you, there can certainly be a lot of bugs. We just have to be patient while they work on it.
very patient.

The problem is that if they don't put totems next to gens then teams will know when looking for a hex to ignore areas with gens.
They need to make the gens totems a lot more hidden.
I've come to the same conclusion. We have to have these absolutely terrible placements, but we can protect them with good debris and stuff around it though so it actually takes longer than 1 second to find it lol.

Yeah like how did this pass QA or the design team? Who made that tile and thought that a totem with nothing to hide it on the literal side of a barn wall (basically) would EVER be a good totem spot. Well I guess for Haunted Grounds but that's quite a reach.

There’s nothing wrong with his portals. A player is meant to regularly use “Of The Abyss” to try and detect survivors near (or cleansing) other portals, not just to charge “Shred”.
Drop a new one, teleport, then smack those pesky kids in the backside.
I understand that, but with the cooldown I doubt you're going to be trying to detect and protect portals very often instead of protecting gens or being in an active chase.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
- Make portals indestructible and change add-ons that relate to cleanse speed
- Allow Demogorgon to destroy a portal at any range with an alternate button
- Portals are only visible to survivors while the Demogorgon is climbing out of them
- Remove the roar while it teleports, but keep the tearing digging sound in so that survivors can still hear it coming, but it's more subtle, like Freddy's teleporting wind wooshing sound.
The survivors being able to control a killers power like that, especially when it's hardly that strong, isn't good. Force survivors to be more observant and wary when they are working on generators. i honestly don't think it would be too strong, but it would give it the boost it needs.
Yeah I never got that. Why did they give survivors so much control over the killers own power when it wasn't even a strong one to begin with.

"Pennywise hasn't been all that impactful on the horror genre"
Dude, this movie kinda raised Coulrophopia in the world. Not sure if you grew up during Stephen Kings big time or seen the original movie when it came out, but I hardly disagree on this one.
Also Jason legal issues were bypassed by the boardgame that is released this year, see PaulieEsther. The Candyman actor confirmed that he is voice acting for a video game but is not allowed to talk about it.
Beneath that, we have currently a list of like 10 possible licensed killers. So your argumentation or sort-out approach is a bit thin
Pretty sure fear of clowns is primarily an American phobia. I've heard many stories of people from other countries wondering why so many Americans find clowns scary.

Ruin is decent atm. I remember when it was changed I thought it was crazy still being a hex perk, and this is coming from someone who plays more survivor than killer. However since then I've used it on a few killers and it can be extremely good when applying loads of pressure.
I.e. it's really bad on people like Demogorgan, Trapper and Hag. Extremely good on Legion.
All they need to do is improve some totem spawns. Had a game where it was extremely easy to see, next to a gen where the survivors spawned.. still got a 4k on suffocation pit.
These are from my games last night. It's like a habit now to take SS of it happening.
Seriously I don't get why killers complain about the totem spawns, these are so well hidden and will likely take a while to find /s

I recently switched to a new GC and RAM and before that I rarely ever crashed in games, but after the switch I was crashing constantly. I fixed mine with BIOS updates, have you tried that?

They actually said that she could get minor changes. What they understand by minor changes is a different matter.
I believe the very first mention of the pass they didn't say anything about possible small changes, it was the 2nd post on wards that did. Still not needed though.
I agree OP, the nerf wasn't needed and they should've just waited on doing anything to her base kit after the addon pass but whatever. You're right again about the addons, many of them are literally useless or worse they actively hurt your performance for BP gain (and in an ideal 32k game you don't get ANYTHING from it anyways)
I'd be happy with a bug fix pass tbh, putting aside the numerous complaints and issues with her balancing atm. She desperately needs a hotfix dedicated to her and the vast amount of bugs she has, including several game-breaking ones that are c o m m o n.

Preferably before but I'll take after if it's bug free (or at least less buggy than Nurse)

Considering Pennywise is a being from the macroverse I think it would be breaking the lore if he served someone other than himself.
Considering the law suit is still going on I don't think it's Jason. Even if they get him in here they would probably be very limited with what they can do with him. If he is released and he needs a rework they would have to get permission again to change him.
I'm stil wondering if it's Candyman but I don't think he is as popular are the devs are suggesting. He has a movie coming out soon so the people who own Candyman wouldn't mind some advertising to boost the opening weekend.
Zenomorph would be weird. It's like we already got demogorgon, why not another monster killer?
I'm really hoping for Xenomorph and I hope he's near Nurse level tbh

???? Spirit was barely touched. Not sure how she's even relevant to this discussion.
And barring her bugs, which need to be fixed obviously, Nurse is still very strong.
I never said she wasn't strong, but I do cry that she is terribly unfun now.
And spirit got touched in exactly the way survivors were complaining about her. The addon and the collision were the 2 biggest complaints I saw and they were both addressed, that's why she's on here.
-
The problem with tying things to gens being done is survivors can just 99% them so they have control of when gens pop and aren't very inconvenienced by anything like your suggesting.
The way around this I've found is to not tie it to gens completed, but rather the total % of all gens completed that amounts to 1 gen instead. This way they can't stall the objective and cheese it, and will instead have to continue like normal.

As someone who just graduated with a Bachelors, early congratulations on being done!

I'd be more ok with the red bar if it only appeared after you hit someone so it doesn't effect how fast you move around the map just in chases.
Just one of the many, many, many suggestions I've seen that are better than what we got.

Not on xbox, i havent seen a red rank nurse in months! im honestly not surprised as iv never quite understood her nerf, i didnt think she as too hard to counter but its sad i never get to verse them. last nurse i went against had like 2 hooks all game, one being me as i let her get a hook as the other survivors started to be toxic towards her :/
The nerf was specifically to target players like myself; red rank Nurse PC players. It wasn't really designed for any other players that aren't red rank or on PC. She was never even close to problematic in those areas. Sad to see because you're right, if you actually tried to adjust your playstyle you could actually dodge Nurse just fine. Now anyone can do it or the game will literally ######### you over so the survivor escapes time and time again :(

You don't know what to say because Hag traps are definitely much, much stronger.
All we need to see that this is true is swap them. If Hag could spam her traps in the same way Freddy does, and Freddy had to set up like Hag, would they still be the same or would one be way worse and one suddenly a god tier killer?
I understand it can feel unfair to see 6 traps suddenly on the loop you're at but that's the whole point is he forces you to play smart and keep track of where the traps are and what he is doing.

No one asked for the Red Bar, it's not a nice feeling having survivors flee to safety just because I'm waiting for 2 Blinks to recharge while already being the slowest killer.
Her Movement speed should increase dramatically while recharging her blinks and decrease once she has 2.
I'd just be happy with it slowly recharging while holding a blink so you don't 99% yourself and waste 3 blinks worth of charge in a single go.
That and bug fixes so she is actually playable a majority of the time.
@Esparza The cooldown doesn't add any level of skill to using Nurse, it just punishes you extra hard for everything you do. What skill is there in sitting by watching survivors run in straight lines because that's all it takes to run a Nurse around for a long time if they aren't using the range/cd addons. There are just so many fundamental problems with adding a cooldown to her power, and it shows very very much just how janky it makes her kit.

HAG HAS TO STOP AND SET TRAPS
FREDDY DOES NOT
im sick of people comparing him to killers who have risks to using their powers
also passively falling asleep, I dissected all the ahem "counterplay" that people like to bring up before, all the arguments are flawed
Yeah and Hag has stronger traps than Freddy does. Freddy's only work in a chase, outside of a chase if they get triggered they're useless, except maybe for a location tool but nothing else. If you randomly trip a Hag trap in her radius you will get hit, inside a chase or not.
If he had to have tons of negatives to settings his they would need to become more powerful to compensate otherwise they'll be useless.

You made great points!
I wouldn't mind using a variety of her addons if she didn't have a red bar already to hinder her. The Red bar causes players like myself to use Recharge Addons, completely negating any other use for every other addon they reworked.
Exactly this. From my perspective it's like the addon pass didn't even happen because I'm just locked to 2 addons. I never bother with any of the others, at any time, ever. There is no point when you can double the amount of blinks you can do in a match. Nothing else in any of the other addons comes even remotely close to that.
I wish they would remove the cooldown or remove the addons and force me to use one of the trash things they came up with. At least I would have variety at that point.

Well, you're a bit rude, but i'll do it, although there are already many posts in the bug forum and examples on youtube&reddit.
First come the gamebreaking bugs:
- not being able to perform your second/third blink for the duration of the match
- not being able to blink AT ALL for the duration of the match
Now the hindering bugs:
- not being able to perform your second/third blink sometimes
- random blink distance reduction
- various deadzones on many maps (too many to count, the middle of sanctum; the space around the center of lery's and a few parts of hawkins are just examples)
- after getting stunned by a pallet (most times, sometimes random), nurse gets a double/triple fatigue
At last the annoying, but not hindering bugs:
- the hand of the nurse performs a slowed/speeded version of the blink charge animation when charging your blink
- the sensivity in fatigue is greatly reduced sometimes
There you go, that are the ones i see quite often, i think my fellow nurse mains got a bunch to add.
There's a good list.
I mean it though, play a game of Nurse. You WILL get a visual bug at the least, and very likely the 2nd blink not working for x amount of time bug.
-

No, you dont get slowdown when doing it and the survivor has no other choice cause if he try to find another pallet he will already be dead.
Anyways it isn't possible to spam 5 snares on normal loops, only on LT, jungle gym and shack, with 2 snares you already got that survivor.
You're missing the point, and I never said he was slowed down during the set up. Because he is setting up he is unable to swing, like all trap killers. Therefore he suffers the same weaknesses. If you're just spamming snares everywhere during a chase you might get rewarded sometimes but if the survivor is any good they'll know to just avoid the area and move to another loop.
-
@Deadeye said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1285042#Comment_1285042
That is not really a choice. Kicking gens during a chase is always a bad idea because of that.
I would also like to have that
Unless you're running Overcharge. But you shouldn't have to use 1/4 of your perkslots to prevent something so simple while survivors can do it with 0 out of 16 perks and in literally 1 frame of activity...
-

I mean when you put 5 snares and then bloodlust it, you dont lose it
Well if you've set up 5 snares, then you've wasted that amount of time not being able to hit anyone while they could possibly be triggering them without you being able to get reward out of it. In that sense, he is no different than any of the other trap killers.

The most problematic thing about freddy is how he's so good at everything.
-He has a really really strong chase power
-Really strong map pressure because of his teleport
-And on top of that pretty much the best slow down/stall power in the game because survivors are constantly pressured to stay awake by going to clocks, failing skill checks or finding teammates. And freddy doesn't have to do amything for that. And even if you managed to stay awake all the time you will still fall asleep mid chase without freddy having to touch you at all.
Consider all of that and the fact that he's really easy to play.Freddy really doesn't feel that fair especially of ypu compare him to other killers.
I mean the only thing I could possibly think about nerfing is the passive time it takes to fall asleep. Outside of that everything is balanced imo. He creates pressure for himself by forcing people asleep and they either choose to play into that new weakness or go and get awake. Without everything he has in his kit nothing would synergize and he wouldn't be effective at all.
-
@nancybestgirl said:
The history isn't going to repeat again, as a freddy player (almost 4 months playing him, dont play him rn cause I dont have my pc) He has everything to destroy survivor without any drawbacks/skill required.
He needs some changes and that's all.
I disagree. When you're awake he's just an m1 killer that can appear at gens. He's weak as hell when you're awake. And even when you're asleep you can always just not run the same loop over and over, the exact same counterplay as Hag.
-

I'm sure they're aware of most of them (Myself and many others have made sure of that.)
Whether they don't think it's high priority or the fixes are taking an incredibly long time to figure out is anyone's guess though.

Here, watching the forums and playing maybe a few days out of the month. Too frustrating in her current state to play every day like I used to.
It's interesting to see the same lynch crowd that got Nurse ruined in the first place is now on again about Freddy. The joy of making others have no joy.

Lery's is actually pretty hard for nurse, because of all the windows and small spaces. In no way would I think that it is perfect for her.
I'd say it's 50/50 on her. I used to hate getting it as her but after getting it so often I've just learned how to play on that map with her, not much different just need to learn where to blink to see their possible movements for that map.
-
That's the consensus right now. Still strong but the time and energy you have to put in to overcome not only the enemy survivors, but also the maps, and her own bugs makes it just a very unfun experience most of the time even if you love her gameplay to death like I do :(

You can buy an Nvida card and use Geforce to change brightness settings and other color related stuff if you want.
