Rework teleports Demogorgon. What should be in the beginning release.
Why not make Demogorgon teleports much better and more interesting? At the moment, teleports are almost useless, with rare exceptions, because they take a long time to arrange, and they break them quickly enough.
Moreover, this change will make it closer to its original essence.
Here's my idea:
When a Demogorgon gets into its teleport, it doesn't make any sounds (the same roar sounds all over the map), except when it gets out of the teleport (the sounds of tearing flesh when you are very close to the portal from which the Demogorgon gets out).
Demogorgon can create temporary portals for fast travel. Click the active skill button to create a temporary portal (its duration is 2-3 seconds after the Demogorgon teleport). The animation begins, where Demogorgon creates a portal and immediately climbs into it and teleports to another portal, which he put earlier (not temporary).
Demogorgon can put portals over the limit by destroying old portals (like a Hag).
Interaction of the portal with the survivor.
When a survivor passes directly through the portal of Demogorgon, it is as if he falls into world "Upside-Down" (not in the literal sense). World getting all gray, like survivor in Freddie's dream world. He also gets infinite blindness (deprives him of reading auras), and he also stops seeing other survivors (literally), just as the Spirit does not see survs when it activates ability. Other survivors also do not see the person who got into another world and can not help him in any way.
While the survivor is in the world "Upside down", it slows down all actions by 100% (that is, the survivor can not repair the generators at all).
There is another option: in the world "Upside down" there will be no generators, so that the survivor could not safely repair them.
UPD. If a survivor who is in the world "Upside down" does not have time to find the portal for a certain period of time, then he:
a) dies
or
b) goes into a dying state
In addition, if the survivor gets out of the world "Upside down", then in the normal world, he gets the following effects:
a) "Exhausted" on 60 seconds
or
b) "Broken" on 60 seconds.
or
c) "Exposed" on 60 seconds.
*This is so that the survivor doesn't abuse the portals to harm the killer, because the Demogorgon can't harm the survivor there. And not to stretch the time.
To get out of this world, you need to find another portal on the map and go through it again.
When a survivor enters the world "Upside down", a portal that allows them to get back to their world appears in a random place (often very far from the survivor). And you can find this portal by the characteristic sound (if the survivor is next to it) and by the tentacles-appendages that grow in a small radius (5-10 meter) from the portal (as in the Hawkins Laboratory, in the room where the Elevator is stuck)
Demogorgon can't harm a survivor who has entered his world.
Comments
Yeah I never got that. Why did they give survivors so much control over the killers own power when it wasn't even a strong one to begin with.
all your ideas just make him unbeatable.
I mean, i dont main demo or anything but that feels like a waste of time. Im not going to be constantly checking my of the abyss for portal breakers, especially when focused elsewhere.
The portal concept never seemed that interesting - or really particularly relevant to the canon of the Demogorgon - to begin with.
Some mechanic to pull survivors into the "Upside Down" with related mechanics and escape criteria would seem more interesting, although I guess Freddy already kind of uses that theme with pulling people into the "Dream World".
I understand that, but with the cooldown I doubt you're going to be trying to detect and protect portals very often instead of protecting gens or being in an active chase.
I like most of it, except the entering the other world thing. Demogorgon really needs his portals looked at thanks to Freddy's massively better teleport that stonps all over demogorgons thing by being better in every way.
Not a big fan of the Upside Down idea to be honest. It can easily be abused by people baiting you into a chase and running directly into a portal so you can't hurt them. Meaning all you've done is waste time in a pointless chase.
The ideas at the start of your post are alright though.
I don't think all that much would need to be done to the portals to make them much better. Let the Demo replace them like the Hag does, so they don't become basically useless if that area has its generators completed and the survivors don't destroy it. Also make the portals you place exit points and let you pick a portal, like Freddy can pick a generator, from anywhere on the map.
demo is so weak
Worst killer I ever got waste of money for sure
Hmm, this can be fixed by adding a function to injure the survivor when he crawls out of the portal. And to give the survivor something like a certain timer, after which, if the survivor did not manage to get out of the Upside Down world, then he dies or goes into a dying state.
Faking teleports, mindgames by throwing up a Freddy port in front of a player during a chase while able to cancel if they move to you, complete if they keep running to the gen. Easiest pops that can't be denied. Tricking people off gens. Freddy teleport has a million uses, and it's hard to tell he's even using it. Even the trickiest demo portal has a massive sound que and requires pre setup and is very obvious. Hell he faces where he's going the entire portal animation making him even more predictable on top of it. Especially if you are playing swf you can call out every portal direction like "porting towards shack" and you can annihilate demo. Freddy can throw a rave party if he wants while teleporting, chase survivors, whatever he wants. Demo has litterally nothing on Freddy tp and Freddy still gets snares and gen slowdown on too of superior portals. Demo gets pallet break a tiny but faster and can throw himself as an easy to dodge leap I dance around as survivor easily on the rare occasion anyone plays demogorgon. Just a hatchet throw that can't go over objects and leaves him stunned after use.
What advantage does demo portal have? Setup time? Predictability? Limited resource? Deniable? Sound ques? Long transit times? About all they are good for is radars though demo lacks the mobility to truly exploit them well. Ive pretty much replaced that by running a different killer with a better power and surveillance. You can get everything demo has but better in other killers and replace his one truly unique thing with a perk slot.
