the blogpost about DS says its a second chance perk and was intended to be a second chance perk only, and peanits claims the "anti-tunnel perk" was made up by the commuity, doesn't make it any less true, so if were gonna argue based on that then survivors clearly don't use it as a second chance perk regardless.
So now you're completely changing what we were arguing about. I SAID it was not strictly an anti tunnel perk, NOT that it wasn't a "second chance" perk. I'm not going to be responding to you any further.

it is true, the devs said DS wasn't originally intended to be an anti tunneling perk, you got a random skillcheck that gave you a free escape if you werent the obsession, sort of like wiggeling with flip-flop right now, or if you were the obsession you got an immidiate skillcheck to get out of killer grasp. They way it is now is intended to be an anti-tunneling perk, but survivors abuse it as an "vulnerability" perk for 60 seconds, or getting out at the end when exit gates are opened.
I'm not going to keep going back and forth with you. That is not what he said. Either you misunderstood his comment or you are referring to a now dated comment. When the search function works we will be able to resolve this

Little tweaks? They are huge changes.

He said that about the original DS that worked like a free escape, the new DS is an anti tunneling perk.
No. That's not true.
-
Because it's a trash series for little kids. Enough with the threads about this.
-
The devs have said that DS is not strictly an anti-tunneling perk.

DbD is a hard game to adjust for. I'd recommend trying to adjust it with a browser or video open, something that you'll easily be able to see differences on and then just leaving it. Adjusting strictly for DbD is a pain unless you have multiple profiles on the T.V.
Ok so it's not just me then lol. It's so weird how pretty much every other game looks good (even acceptable is fine) and then I start DBD and cringe because the colors seem all wrong and unnatural.
Thanks

@coppersly said:
I don't know how to give you those kind of settings. Everyone prefers different color settings. I'd try playing with the presets on your T.V. and then fine tuning what you don't like about your favorite profile.
If someone recommends settings that they love then I might love them too lol. I guess I prefer cooler colors as opposed to warmer. I can't seem to get my TV in the sweet spot between too dark and too washed out looking.
I watched a movie last night and I thought it was perfect but then I booted up DBD and it just doesn't look good.
-
No, that's still The Game. At least Midwich is visually fantastic.
Oh the two maps filled with nothing. I think Shelter Woods (with just a big tree in the middle) and the one with a killer shack surrounded by corn fields.
-
She can be difficult to master. I love playing as her except on indoor maps. There's always a corner for someone to turn around to avoid your vomit. With the performance issues on console and with dedicated servers not always being optimal it can sometimes be frustrating to play as her.
I also think she has a super cool design aesthetically, but as said above lots of people are disgusted by vomiting.
Anyway I still see her from time to time on PS4 but there are far easier strong killers to play as so it doesn't surprise me that you don't see her a lot.
-
It's an imperfect system. I would honestly recommend just skipping through the emblem screens unless you are specifically trying to get gold/iridescent emblems for a challenge or trophy. That's what I do anyway and I'm happier lol

NOED gives you 1 down in endgame unless you're also using remember me, if survivors wanna play altruistic instead of getting the ######### out then that's on them. So many die because they're trying to outplay NOED and again, it's a damn killer perk, it's supposed to be more powerful than the 16 combined 16 perks. Also I was really generous with my "12 extra lives" argument, it's probably more.
Where's my killer perk that will give me tons of chase potential and downs? Oh wait, most of them are just tracking or slowing gens down by a miniscule amount except for the high risk HEXTOTEMS that NOED is one of them that are on MANY maps placed out right next to gens or in the Open *thinking emoji*
Lol 1 down. Ok.
-
NOED is arguably the most powerful second chance perk in the game. So I hope no one trash talking DS, BT, UB, etc runs NOED ever. That would be hypocritical.

Good killers are aware of this and wont follow you away from the gens. Enjoy it while it lasts
Enjoy it while it lasts? I have over 3k hours, am rank 1 and killers still fall for it. But ok buddy.

Is anybody else often getting flamed for basically just running in a straight line not allowing any outplays on the killers part if it's for example a Pyramid head or clown etc.
How is it "noobish", I don't use any resources, u run after me for at least 40 seconds as a m1 killer and there's no potential for you to outplay me on many maps.
Heck, what was unexpected was even survivors called me "boring".
Anytime there's like 1 or 2 gens left or just the exit gates I run the killer as far as I can, to the furthest corner of the map, away from the other survivors. It's often a death sentence for me but it usually gives my teammates enough time to do objectives.
There's nothing worse when you're working on a nearly complete gen or you're going for an unhook but some idiot survivor is looper the killer RIGHT NEXT TO the gen/hook.

Of course it will vary on an individual basis, but at least from my experience, I see two, usually three DS at least per match.
Isn't the way people use DS a problem for you guys\? Or is an anti momentum perk that encourages and rewards survivors for otherwise playing dumb, like bum-rushing hooks, seriously something you guys actually want?
Can't we just make DS more healthy for this game? I don't like how the best use of DS is, instead of using it defensively, that the best course of action for me is to immediately hop on a generator for the time I'm invincible because the killer can't really do much to punish me for those 60 seconds. If they come back before the 60 seconds, I can just hop in a locker and they're forced to have to either take the DS because again, I am invincible, or completely waste their time.
I also hate that, if I am being tunneled, that to actually use the perk, I must intentionally get downed and caught, which is not something I should be intentionally doing or be getting rewarded for.
And thirdly, I absolutely hate how this perk pretty much guarantees a free escape if the survivor still has it at the end game. Even if I get unhooked and immediately slapped down, I've never once been in a position where I just couldn't crawl out of the match. There should never be situations where a single survivor perk makes the killer absolutely powerless. It could at least do with being disabled during EGC.
I would strongly suggest reducing the cases where the perk is abused for anti momentum by making it be disabled in a survivor begins to work on a generator, begins to cleanse a totem, or begins to attempt an unhook, while also disabling it when EGC starts. Then of course, changing the requirements of its activation slightly to be easier to pull off so that survivors who are being tunneled do not have to intentionally lose a chase within 60 seconds of being unhooked to actually make use of the perk. Perhaps make the timer similar to Pig's RBTs when being chased.
Also remove the whole obsession mechanic from DS. All it serves currently is to signal a killer that nobody has DS when nobody is the obsession in a match, so tunnel away.
Haven't you said recently that you haven't played in like 2 months?
-
Neither. But if I had to pick then Aliens.

awful perk. Survivors have control over the loop, basically because 3rd person camera abuse, safe spot and cracks in the walls. This means that a killer has no advantage whatsoever in knowing where there's a pallet. Ultimately you should always remember which pallets you've broken.
"3rd person camera abuse" .. that's a new one.

Well, PTB is kinda buggy. For example, the first hours you weren't able to hear hit sounds in the games.
But they would need to create a whole new effect for blood to splatter and stick to clothes/skin. I just don't think it could possibly be a bug.
-
Plague, Ghostface, Deathslinger and Wraith are my favorites.

On the home page go to Patch Notes and then PTB Patch Notes at the bottom of the list.

There are 2 things wrong with it:
1. Not using your brain to make a logical conclusion based on the information already provided
2. Not learning from BHVR's history of PTBs.
What you said doesn't go against anything I said, though. I specifically said within my comment that it's okay to be critical and say you think changes are a bad idea before the ptb is released. What's not okay is filling the forum with endless the-sky-is-falling bullshit and drama.
-
But there's nothing wrong with people who said to wait until the PTB. Now we know for sure that the nerfs go too far. Now we can complain with evidence to back it up.
Knee jerk reactions are rarely or never good even if they end up being right in the long run. It's not the people were saying "these nerfs seem too harsh, I don't think Billy deserves this, and here's why" it's the people who were saying "BILLY IS DEAD LETS ALL LEAVE DBD THIS IS THE END OF THE WORLD BHVR ARE MORONS LETS CAMP EVERY SINGLE SURVIVOR IN PROTEST"

Again that doesn't make sense. Because it makes the current prestige meaningless since clothing gets bloody naturally in the match. It seems much more likely that its a bug.
How could that possibly be a bug? And the blood is different. Doesn't look as bloody as prestige.
-
@gatsby said:

Unlikely. The clothing stayed bloody even when I was healed. And this is a locked outfit that can't be used with the current prestige so it was obviously programmed in separately.
Yes you get bloodied when you are hit. Healing doesn't clean the blood off.
-
Keep dodging, nobody will mind. Survivors stay in the lobby together and usually get another killer within 10 seconds.
Toolboxes were nerfed to hell btw

You can opt out of crossplay if you so choose. There'll be an option in the settings to turn it off.
Will the people who opt in and the people who opt out be on two entirely different queues?
Also, can you opt out of cross-console play or just PC/console? For instance if I'm on Switch and don't want to play with Xbox/PS4 players.
-
I once got two farming games in a row and I wanted to tear my hair out.
Also one time I had my friend over and I wanted to play a game before we left to show him what it's like. I got a ######### farming match. 🤦
-
Ok see ya later
-
My ideas..
Green key:
20 charges
Allows instant opening of chests (depletes 10 charges)
Purple key:
15 charges
Allows one survivor to escape
Takes 5 seconds to open the hatch
Instant opening of chests (10 charges)
Pink key:
30 charges
Stays open for however many charges remain, then closes automatically (unless killer shuts)
3 seconds to open the hatch
Instant opening of chests (10 charges)
Add ons:
- Add charges (10, 20, 30)
- Make the unlocking action faster (-3 seconds)
- Aura tracking of survivor + killer (combine these add ons)
- Increase rarities of items found in chests when used to open
-
I mean I've seen a noticeable improvement on PS4 but yes it still needs work. The biggest problems I have are when a status effect icon pops up for either side, when you deplete an item, and when bloodlust triggers as killer. Those are definitely frustrating.

Lol ok. Anyone under 7.25k hours is a noob IMO. And unless you've been at rank 1 for 257 days straight, with no drop to rank 2, even during rank reset don't @ me.

Lul, why are killers always the ones who are forced to improve theirs skills. Currently survivors can just hold w and run from safe pallet to safe pallet, while the other survivors abuse the busted gen speeds and rinse through gens without the need to do a secondary objective, also lets not forget that they can join a swf and make all the easier. There is very little skill in that. How about survivors get slapped with the nerfs that force them to improve their skills for a change.
So nerfing exhaustion didn't make them improve their skill? Making insta heals not instant? Adding medium vaults and making certain windows weaker? Making more unsafe pallets? Altering whole maps? Removing the pallet vacuum? Removing insta blinds? Making hooks respawn? Increasing healing times?
None of these nerfs made it so survivors had to adapt and make smarter choices?

700 hrs is supposed to be a lot? And red ranks is supposed to mean something? Actually just shows how truly bad you are when you have only these 2 points to back you up lmao
######### is she supposed to say to "prove" herself? Any time anyone has anything critical to say about any killer there's at least three people saying "try to play at red ranks and then come back to me." But I guess that's not good enough for you. Also 700 hours is a long time to play any one game. Stop being an elitist and dismissive.

@Bovinity said:

Perhaps.
Like I said, maybe I focus too much on the objectives. If one survivor gets out when the gens are done and gates open, that seems like a win for the survivors. They accomplished their goal, they completed their objectives as the game set them out. It doesn't matter how many died to get there, the team did it.
Kinda like destroying your opponents last building in StarCraft. It doesn't matter if you lost a full 200 supply army doing it, you did it. That's the objective. You won.
From the killer perspective, you failed your objectives. Gens got done, gates were open, AND people got out. I failed ALL of my objectives. Doesn't matter if I killed 2 or 3 people, I still failed.
I can see why you'd see it that way but I don't see it as a failure. If the one survivor that escaped was a **** the whole game then I'll be a little pissed they got out but overall I still consider it a win for me.
