Also I think if people are saying they consider 1 survivor escape to feel like a loss then that really speaks to how they see balance. If you think 1 survivor escaping is a loss then I'm gonna guess that you also think this game is terribly balanced in favor of survivors.
Just my theory, though. Doesn't mean it's true in all cases.

It depends, as Killer if 2 escape but they are on their death hook its a tie, if 2 escape because I got a lucky down at the end and then another lucky down from overaltruistic Survivors its a loss, I got 2 kills handed over and I dont like it, it feels like those "hey you participated, good for you!!" consolation medals.
For Survivor depends on how we played, what we faced and how much I believe everyone deserved what they got, I like to measure what build the Killer used and how fair/unfair it was. For example against Iri+Belt+Ebony Mori 1 escaping is a victory (2 is Merciless Survivors victory), against Tombstone Myers its a win if he doesnt get to Mori the 4 of us, even if we all die (I play Solo and in Solo he always gets EW3, the difference is how many gens are left).
This. There are way too many variables for a blanket statement like 2 escape = tie. It really depends on a lot of factors.
Escaping with a key for instance is a hollow victory unless it was a really good fight to get to that point.
If the killer is a troll, like hard camping while hitting on the hook, etc and I alone escape then that's a personal victory, but a team loss.
If 2-3 survivors get out but I managed to kill 1-2 really obnoxious survivors then I'm happy enough. I've killed the one troll survivor then sat back to let the other 3 escape when they played like decent people. In those cases I hope the dead survivor is watching ๐

They confirmed it's intended, without giving a reason.
Although, the reason is really simple. In 4 years they haven't been able to add another key bind for different actions and, if they did, we'd probably get bugs where a survivor holds W and the killer starts floating and ends up on a hook in the exit gates.
Wow you're probably right. Oof :/

I agree it's trash but in my experience it's not a new thing. Doesn't mean that it's not new for you, though.

Herman Carter (Doc's real name) is African American, but through his Archives, we know one of his professors (Blanchard) was German, presumably a former Nazi, given the CIA project PAPERCLIP (which involved a LOT of former Nazi scientists who changed sides, one of which eventually becoming the director of NASA) had already come and gone.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1413978#Comment_1413978
It's not a Mandela Effect. Herman WAS originally Asian during development (which I just now realize as I'm typing this makes his voice actor, Alex Lin, the likeness of Jake Park, make more sense). Spark of Madness was going to be a heavily Chinese-based chapter, but censorship reasons led to Mu Yi being changed to Herman Carter.
You're not going crazy. Yet.
Do you know what censorship reasons? Like would China not approve the chapter with a Chinese killer or something?

I wouldn't say this is new. And I have not seen an increase in it since the DC penalties.

The thing is, that room could lead to an hostage situation where people get in there and Killer blocks the window without any chance from the survivors to activate the EGC, he does have a point and it should be changed.
I've actually seen clips of it becoming a hostage situation. That's fair and balanced, though, according to people in this thread.
-
I would hope it's just an oversight but it's been in the game so long at this point they might actually think it's balanced.

Why? This is literally what the game has turned into:
Nerf Killers they admit are in a good place. So for no reason other than to appease Survivors who want to whine rather than get good.
Survivors peeing their pants and claiming they have every right to disconnect, because no one matter but them. And yet BHVR has turned off the DC penalties.
And now Survivors, emboldened by being given everything they want over the course of years, demanding Killer-sided spots on maps be altered, because it's easier than..getting good.
Jesus Christ, dude.

Yes! It's poor design that a Survivor can misplay and trap himself! This game is supposed to be Survivor-sided, and so anything where a Survivor can mess up must be removed!
Ask for skillchecks to be removed next. I mean, it's poor design that Survivors can sometime miss them. All gens should just auto-complete! The Killer has that time to try killing everyone, or they all pop and he loses!
You need to relax.
-
It's just poor design. Maybe they realized that window would be too strong if the inner breakable wall was left open and didn't want to fix it.

It is obvious, by your comments, that you only play survivor.
I advise you to play some killer games at rank 1 and then quote me
Wow the ol' reliable "I have nothing of substance to say in response so I'm just going say you don't play killer." Do you guys go to a special meeting where you come up with your cliched phrases?
-
Absolutely not.

This would be so easily abused, first of all. Secondly, rank is about to be irrelevant concerning matchmaking.

Yeah the effect of the perk is not worth it to force a basic attack. Hopefully this gets changed because I like all the other perk changes.

The devs mean it's not competitive in the sense that it is meant more for fun rather than to focus on the ranking system. So playing in a non-competitive way is completely acceptable. They have even said on numerous occasions that the ranking system basically rewards you for playing the game, not being good.
By design there are two sides competing against each other. It's competitive. And well known for being stressful. So if someone has ######### high blood pressure then they shouldn't play it

If his doctor is telling him to avoid stress it's likely due to high blood pressure or another concern. I don't get texts from my doctor reminding me to avoid stress, idk about you...
Also, the OP is asking for suggestions to play the game in a less stressful way. The devs have said about a million times that this isn't a competitive game... so he should be able to play in a way that he has fun (not afk, but playing with fun builds and ignoring ranks).
By the way, I didn't even say that he should afk, just that there's no reason to be toxic #########... but I guess go off lmao
The devs mean it's not competitive in the sense that it's not intended for esports.. not that there's no competition in it at all
-
It's been happening to me A LOT lately. Incredibly frustrating.

you can cancel your chainsaw midway?
I believe so. Each charge is 2 seconds of chainsawing. So if you realize you won't make the hit due to distance or a window you could just not use the additional charges, ending the attack sooner. I believe that's how it works

IT WAS A PART OF HIS DESIGN!?!?
I can't help you if you think a killer having the freedom to roam around the map as a vital part of his kit is overbearing but that's all on you. Don't make other players suffer because of it.
Designs... change. That's literally what's happening right now.

omegalul.
"mindlessly chainsaw" What even. I'm going to use almost verbatim the Nurse counter arguments for this change.
It's not mindless, it takes aim and timing to get a chainsaw hit (unless you've trapped them in the geometry) and also some aim since Billy has that weird turning thing.
Even if you did nothing but run across the map the entire game you are not going to get rewarded for it unless a potato walks in front of you. By that logic, spamming it does not give you rewards, using it with precision did. Thereby all this change did was limit the amount of time you can be doing that in a match. It does not make it more skillful.
I'm not even referring to hits so you're just arguing against something I never said. You just can't frolick around the map with insane speeds endlessly anymore. It doesn't surprise me that a Nurse main would be upset by that change.

It's pretty much just a straight buff. The only thing I can think of that's actually worse than before is holding your chainsaw for obscene amounts of time (a.k.a. facecamping with the chainsaw revved).
This pretty much sums it up. And it seems like a great change to me. I will gladly trade infinite camping Bubba for a stronger Bubba.
Plus.. he can still camp if that's your playstyle, it'll just require a bit more skill.

While i agree at the same time just nerfing his mobility and nerfing backrevving and nerfing curving and now nerfing his map pressure while giving him nothing to compensate for it you just took a S tier Killer down to about maybe C tier in all honesty.
He's still got great mobility and maybe the easiest to use one hit downs in the game. He'll be fine.
It's funny because on PS4 I see a Hillbilly maybe every 50 games but as soon as nerfs are announced everyone acts like a Hillbilly main.

This means you wont be able to immediately chainsaw a survivors who's working on a gen you traveled to, and instead you'll have to wait for a boring and lame ~10 seconds cooldowns, forcing you to go for an M1 instead, on a survivors who's working on gen in the middle of nowhere, because if you try to wait for the cooldowns to finish, they'll be easily able to run across half the map and get to a pallet or a window.
But that's only if you let the chainsaw completely overheat. It takes a long time to overheat while traveling. Did you watch the video?
-
Billy needed a mobility limit. You can still get across the map very quickly, you just have to actually think about what you're doing, you can't just mindlessly chainsaw whenever you want. Every other killer in the game has some mobility limit so it's about time Billy does too.
-
@DrDeepwound said:
chainsawwing around entire map was a fun thing, will be missed.
But you can still do that. It says in the post that when traveling with the chainsaw if it overheats you are not stopped. You just have a cool down when you choose to stop.
-
But the charges added to LF make him stronger and easier to use. Misplay a chainsaw attack? You're no longer forced to commit to the entire animation. Take a deep breath before posting.
-
Personally I'm a big fan of both changes. Billy will require a bit more skill to play and Leatherface seems to be made stronger but at the same time reducing his ability to camp so easily. LF also seems fun as hell.
I'm optimistic. I think maybe Hillbilly's overheat cool down looks too long but that can always be adjusted with the PTB

lol good job insulting someone complaining about irl health concerns. Hopefully the ego boost you got from writing that made you feel good about yourself.
Everyone's doctor would tell them to avoid unnecessary stress. That's like telling people to drink water or eat vegetables. It's a "health concern" every one on earth shares.
OP shouldn't be playing competitive multiplayer games if stress is such a concern for them.
-
The only problem I have is when survivors don't make sounds while in the dying state. I gotta use Whispers just to make sure I find them
