How were they necessary and I admit bias
Thank you for conceding the argument
-
I made a suggestion once (which I'll make again):
If someone in a lobby has no offering, we should be able to donate one to them.
I'd rather give one of my 10million cakes to someone else (so we can ALL get more BP) than to hoard a stack I'll literally never use up.
-
Solo queue: Ruin/Undying/Thrill is oppressive!
Super smart people: Git gud
(Hens goes on a 190+ win streak)
Super smart people: Well, the REAL problem is Ruin/Undying/Thrill…
-
Because as much as killers complain, you don't see them actually SWITCHING to play the "better" role, even when there's a queue bonus! That's all you need to hear.
-
If Jason goes into his power too long, he should get crows.
-
I haven't seen a killer queue bonus in over 6 months. Good luck with those windmills.

Do you know if they explained why anywhere? I just don't understand this rationale. The anniversary is supposed to be a celebration.
Tropes is basing this on the fact that they haven't started the daily refreshes YET. That's literally all the evidence. BHVR have said nothing, so I wouldn't panic just yet.
-
That's why everyone is climbing over each other to play survivor.
-
Hell bro even outside of videogames, your school or college mates never complained about losing a volleyball match because they had bad team?
Spoken like someone who hasn't spent much time in school.

Killers get guaranteed wins the other 11/12ths of the year

Is this new e-mail code not working for you?
Sorry, I unsubscribed because I didn't hear anything. I will look into resubscribing possibly
-
Against SWFs only? Then sure!
-
Can someone from BHVR comment on this? It has been happening for LITERALLY YEARS.
I would encourage as many people as possible to unsubscribe from their newsletter.
-
A lot of killer mains need to play survivor more. The fact that they'd rather wait in a queue than try the other side tells you everything you need to know.

My experience after pallet density update.
Low MMR - Killer wins
High MMR - Survivors winsKiller wins, killer wins, killer wins, killer wins, killer wins, killer wins, killer wins, gets to High MMR, finally loses, considers this proof that killer can't win.

100% agree. The game has too many scenarios where there's nothing (or, nothing FUN) for survivors to do. (e.g. one or more dead with 3+ gens left)

I don't think you "get" Quality of Life. Or posting on the internet. Or arguments in general…

person tries to win video game more news at 11
Which… person are you mocking? They're both trying to win.
-
Maybe they're desperately trying to get someone, ANYONE, to play survivor?
Just a thought based on queue times
-
I would love to see Robert Englund do a cameo as Freddy, but LAWYERS
-
I dumped them all into one character. (I don't care about prestige)
-
As survivor: It's the quarterly "Bend over and get in the barrel" Festival!
As a Myers-main: Who?
-
Slugging is way worse than teabagging, and I agree that the latter isn't toxic (at least, not much).
But these things do not compare. Teabagging is just a meme. There's a reason they're trying to implement anti-slug and not anti-teabag.
-
The majority of veteran players chose their characters (usually survivors) based on their current voice.
There's no way you could possibly know this, but even if it was true… just… do that again? Pick a different favorite based on the updated voices?
If you're willing to quit a game because they changed the voice of a character you like, that's your prerogative, but you know they aren't going to accommodate you, right? They are never going to give "dialog changes" the same weight as you currently are.
I would never tell someone to stop doing something because it's weird, but you do know it's weird, right?
-
I was expecting this thread to be a Krasue hatefest, but there are a lot of people discussing Spirit. I'm surprised.
I think Spirit is fun to go against, but I don't have any hearing issues.
Krasue is just miserable. She can hit you from any distance because her projectile has an AOE (that can hit around corners), she catches up because head form moves so fast, and she hits you immediately because vaults are useless against her. Super fun.

I'm not saying DBD isn't grindy, but…
The Anniversary events are the least grindy time for DBD, by far. I typically get HUNDREDS of cakes (or whatever they are for that event) for later use, people use cakes constantly during it (so you'll get like 200-300k BP per match), and the Shrine of Secrets refreshes daily for a short time, so you can catch up on perks you might have missed.
Make the rest of the year less grindy. :)
-
Every 20-30 games or so (adjust as needed) just change to a silly meme build and goof around with the survivors. That helps me shake off the yips.
Heck, if I figure out that I'm facing a coordinated squad that I can't possibly beat, I'll switch to "Goof around with the survivors" mid-match! I mean, I COULD try really hard and possibly beat them, but if they took the time to coordinate and want to win that badly, who am I to stand in their way? ;) I'd rather pass them up the MMR ladder to a better killer than to beat them and foist them on a lower-MMR killer that's just going to have a bad time…
I think "stage fright" is a good descriptor for it. It's fine to want to perform well, but if you find the deck is stacked against you unfairly, you can just stop and say, "Ok, ######### you guys, I'm not playing this game." and let them win.
Killers can do that without punishment. Survivors can't. Use it.
-
Flip Flop/Power Struggle gets worse the longer you slug, so it encourages picking up. ;)
But I agree that these are bad. Would love to see them reworked.
-
If there ever came a day when they fixed all the cheating, AFK players, DCs, etc., and they didn't have anything better to look at than you… then they'd probably just fire the review team to cut costs. ;)
You're fine. I enjoy a "goof off" game occasionally and no one has ever complained.
-
As someone who has unlocked everything and basically has no use for BP any more…
I miss the grind. I'm glad they give you stuff to unlock in these LTEs because the game would be (even more) boring without them.
I don't think perks should be gated behind it (and/or Tiers should go away obviously) but having something to unlock is part of what drives me to play at all.
But maybe that's just me
-
So if I can get escapes with random perks about half the time I don't really see a problem how soloq is.
Sounds like you have a skill issue with observation and logic. No one asked what Wezqu's escape rate was, hth

- Singularity - He locks down the 3-gen and the game ends.

the point was ability to buff perks so that they can be good by themselves. As i said, bhvr did nothing with that, thus making weaker perks even weaker
I think they'll make future perks. Did you think of those?

Sprint Burst isn't your problem.
-
You should have to have at least 100 posts on this forum to make suggestions, jeeeeeeesus
-
If you want killer to be easier, just say that instead of "balance"
-
You think the people in the thread would give negative feedback on a rework that would make Spirit unusable?
If you make sure and tell us ahead of time that we're actually going to be listened to this time?? Yes
But IRL, you don't get to ignore survivors patch after patch and then act shocked when they get vindictive and respond AS IF their opinions don't really affect anything.

JFC, no

Telling stealth killers they need to crab walk to gens or their power doesn't work was dumb as hell.
Nerfing a perk that gave solo players the same info that SWFs get for free was dumb as hell.

Survivor Instinct
"When the killer downs you, they receive 0.000001% haste for 1s." (Removed from PTB for being OP)
-
The problem is that it would be a massive overkill without compensation buffs to Springtrap.
"Interacting with the doors is a net negative for survivor. We should make them neutral so they actually make sense and you can get your cheevo. No other changes needed."
"No deal! Either WE gain from the exchange or-"
"You know what? Never mind."
"Wait, I want my cheevo!"
"Nah, I'll just keep not using the doors."
I love how some people don't understand how bargaining works.
-
If you go to grab a Flame Turret and the alien comes crawling out, you panic and run.
If you're disarming a trap and you hear the TR, you panic and run.
If you're trying to turn off a TV and Sadako comes out, you panic and run.But if you use the door OH, WAIT, YOU'RE INSTA-DOWNED. Not running. Not injured. Hooked. Possibly out of the game forever.
It's so weird that they won't implement certain QOL features because they'd be "too confusing for new players" but then they spend hours developing dumb ######### like this.
I'm genuinely sorry for your cheevos, but if these are the people you're hoping will fix it, I would not hold my breath.
-
Most killers just say "I don't like thing" and leave it at that. (see the OP of this very thread)
If you want to think of, like, some kind of reason for your opinion, that might get you some upvotes, but that is 100% optional when it comes to getting BHVR to listen to you, so I get why most people forget that part, lol
-
DR doesn't have to have a huge affect during this PTB in order to be a great idea.
It allows them more room to maneuver in the future, knowing that they don't have to worry about stacking as much.
You don't have to like it, but "If it's not doing anything, then why implement it at all?" is a very easy question to answer.

He can, but not on like, the same frame as the slide starting. At most it shaves off a fraction of a second. Try playing him in a custom game some time, you'll see there is quite a delay in when you can swing after a leap.
You have to pay $5 for this privilege… to win according to your advice. Is there a term for that?
Anyway, my suggestion would be all killers should be FTP in custom matches, permanently. It would allow potential buyers a "test drive" and it would let survivors actually know what they were facing.
It's pretty ######### when info is locked behind a paywall.

Survivors refusing to engage with game mechanics
Are there 2 left @ 5 gens and they're hiding for hatch? This makes killer sad so it's UNACCEPTABLE. Add new mechanics and devote programming resources to fixing it.
Are there 2 throwing so killer gets a free win? This hurts survivor, not killer, so it's fine.
It's obvious where their priorities are.
-
I'm a weirdo who actually enjoys going through the bloodweb manually, and even I think they should just remove it. I don't know what they should replace it with, but if no one wants to engage with it, then why bother adding more and more stuff to allow people to skip it? Or skip it "better"? If it's that unpopular, just ditch it.
-
Each killer (supposedly?) has its own MMR. If you change killer, it "could" no longer match with the other survivors and it "should" reset the entire search.
And since you don't want that, this is the next best thing.
-
Make it so when you're in the exit area, a fog gate appears and blocks your view of the arena, and you are oblivious. You can still pass through without hindrance if you want to re-enter, and the effects go away when you do, but loitering too close to the exit adds an element of danger…
