  • Serious answer: Your queue times

If you're happy with the amount you wait, then you do you. Slug away.

  • Survivors have to master looping a new killer with a new power every 3 months, or else they don't even get to play the game.

By way of contrast, think about how much new stuff a Blight main has had to learn in the 6 years since his release.

Or do you think something like Orela Rose's chapter was just as much of a learning curve for killer as a new killer would be for survivor, lol?

i didn't know you could turn comments off btw. there you go assuming again

I wouldn't play that card when the "assumption" was that you knew something, but you do you, lol

  • As long as all remaining survivors unanimously agree to it, they should just be allowed to forfeit (like every other online multiplayer game has).

But assuming that's off the table… I voted "Fight" because I want it to be up to the survivors. I don't want a mere "Game Over" screen because one teammate was bad.

I don't mind fighting over hatch, but it's so boring in its current iteration. And if the killer decides to slug for the 4k, it becomes completely pointless! That entire situation needs a redesign.

Where did I say anything about tunneling? But thank you for the lesson I've actually never played this game before.

    I KNEW IT

  • Give us the option to trade in items/offerings/addons that we don't want for BP, and y'all can do whatever you want with the map offerings. As a solo queue survivor, they feel completely pointless, and I admit they did feel OP as killer, so I just don't use them.

They need to do something about the 10s of thousands of items I have in my inventory that it will literally be impossible for me to use.

  • Have you ever done any babysitting? When you play games with kids, you often pretend like you're way worse than you are because you don't want to clobber them and make them cry.

But sometimes you'll get some smug brat who thinks they WON and starts trash talking.

Would you get angry at a 5-year-old in that situation?

We just achieved the Kindred base kit last year by visualizing the AFC gauge, and now you want more training wheels this year? Solo survivor play has become comfortable enough in the last two or three years.

How does the AFC gauge tell me if a teammate is going for the save?

  • Don't like X about killer? Just bring Y to counter it!

    Momo: No, not like that

  • I think if survivors want to camp the "finish line" in order to troll killers, you aren't going to prevent that by moving the line slightly.

  • I totally understand why people would disagree with me, but…

Losing big as Survivor is worse. So often, it feels like you can't even DO anything. The killer happened to bring an Iri addon and you can't communicate the Hex's location because you're in solo queue and UGGGGGHHHHHH

At least if I face a 4-man bully squad, it requires actual skill to loop for 5 gens, body-block accurately, etc. I'd much rather lose to what I perceive as a "better team" than to what feels like a poorly-designed map or offering or whatever.

As long as its an actual health update for fixing issues for the game and not "operation buff survivor v2".

Speaking as someone who believes that survivors do need some buffs…

    I agree with this.

  • You still have to select them from the Tome, so you can only work on one at a time.

  • @Shinkiro said:

The same Survivor is hooked twice consecutively without a different Survivor being hooked in between.

That just lets survivor take advantage of you not being wanting to hook them, there is nothing wrong with double hooking, you're literally doing your objective.

Why are we penalising killers so they can't take an opportunist chase and hook if they happen to find that person again? These types of punishments DO NOT WORK. Because it goes directly against your objective. You can't punish killer efficiency without punishing survivor efficiency aswell that compromises their objectives. Of which they are more efficient at doing in the first place as its 4v1.

Also 10 seconds of gen block is basically nothing, its still better to just get someone out. The incentives to play horribly inefficiently and spread hooks have to be good and strong or its not worth it.

I like how someone proposes a system which gives killers a basekit buff with no downsides, but because it has limits, it's suddenly "punishing the killer". If you want to double-hook someone under this system… go ahead? It's STILL objectively better than tunneling is now.

So a weaker Basekit Grim Embrace? Why dont you just use the Perk??

Because that would take a perk slot. AND you could still run it. I assume the effects would stack, like if you use BT as a survivor under the current system. This isn't rocket science.

These are the people they listened to when they killed the prior PTBs, lol

  • When I play killer (i.e. when the incentive is on killer)(which never happens FOR SOME MYSTERIOUS REASON) I don't tunnel. I go out of my way not to tunnel, and I always let the final survivor escape.

Does that mean I'm low mmr? Almost certainly, but… why should I care? It's literally not shown anywhere in the game, and it's not like Rocket League where you get a reward for being high mmr.

Occasionally, I'll get a coordinated SWF that stomps me. They might even tbag, but good for them. Enjoy your matches, fellas. You got me. "2ez"? Sorry, I'm not trying any harder. Your next match will be against a comp Blight, so just hang in there.

You get the matches you deserve. If you tunnel, you'll eventually face teams that are good enough that you have to tunnel. And if you keep winning, you'll eventually face teams where you can't win EVEN IF you tunnel.

You always have a choice. You could just lose. "Why would anyone ever choose that?" Because some of us know that if you DON'T choose it, it will eventually be forced upon you.

So if you're unhappy because you don't like tunneling, but you also don't like losing, then I have bad news about the latter. (It's going to happen no matter what you do.)

If you're happy tunneling, then keep tunneling. You do you. Just don't come onto the forums complaining as if you didn't have a choice.

  • As a solo-queue survivor, I have to run so many info perks that I don't have room for anything exhaustion-related.

So, yeah. I say, go ahead and nerf SWFs with your exhaustion nerfs.

  • It's telling that they won't even CONSIDER swapping to survivor, lol

"Still the arguments of why to not give killer the abandon option when gates are open is out of track because if survvior just can skip the 8 second animation with abandom I think killer should had have the same options so it isnt double standart between two sides which it is now in current live version."

There is a huge difference. A survivor abandoning during the mori scene has no impact on game. A killer being able to abandon once the gates are open has a impact on the game as the match will instantly end.

"The match being 2 mins longer where nothing happens" is an… interesting… definition of "impact", but if you're that concerned about dragging it out in such a way, maybe they could have the abandoning killer replaced by a bot that will let you tbag it in the exit gates to your heart's content? Hell, they could even pause the timer so you can bm it FOR HOURS if that's your thing, while the killer player does something they consider fun, too!

    Everyone wins!

  • You haven't played in a year, but you're sure you're "high mmr"?????

  • What's to stop someone being "serious" in the Casual mode? Is the difference just that Casual allows free DCs? Then see runningguy's post above. It would turn into PvE because no one would play it out.

  • Every single objection to this suggestion can be solved by making the "abandon" count as (thing you're concerned about).

  • I find them right at the beginning of the match, but it's prohibitively difficult to A) remember where they are, and B) run all the way over to where that was. They're never around when I can actually use one (since you can't pick them up and save them).

I don't know if my teammates are just using them up, but I've literally never used a single one.

  • Thank you for providing alternate suggestions. So many people just criticize ideas without providing any of their own.

  • It's ok to 99 if you're going to sit there and babysit the handle. But if you need to leave, yeah, strongly consider just opening it.

  • If they're in stalk mode, run away. If they switch back to regular mode to keep up, you're in a chase and the timer stops. Otherwise, they lose you.

Or just do a box. If they grab you out of it, the timer stops. If they continue to NOT hook you, then you're wasting their time and not advancing your trap. If they do hook you, then that's just camping/tunneling (not specific to pig).

  • I'm not against nerfing toolboxes, but the problem is mostly just coordinated SWFs like this.

Not to put you on blast too hard here, but I feel the two halves of your point here can't possibly both be true at once?

If tunnelling has natural, realistic, reliable counters, surely killers wouldn't be able to use it to keep up and level the playing field against supposedly unfair survivor benefits.

If tunnelling is seen as an answer to all the heat survivors have, doesn't that imply that it's a tool on the same level? If it's balanced and fair, it wouldn't be able to level the playing field against things that aren't balanced and fair, right?

Survivors are simultaneously whiny babies who can't learn to loop AND an unstoppable force that you need tunneling to defeat.

i think seeing everyones perks would help in some ways but it would also increase the dodging aspect. people already dodge players based on silly things like what character they are (sable)…you want to give people another reason to dodge by allowing them to see what perks people are running?

Its almost like people want to cherry pick their own team in a random soloq matchmaking so why not cherry pick them here and ask people to join SWF instead?

Sorry, I forgot to mention: I would implement some kind of anti-dodging penalty. Treat it like DCing with gradually increasing matchmaking bans.

IF we're keeping it in the first place

  • If they let survivors see other survivors' perks, then it might actually have a purpose. As it stands, it's just a waste of time, but it doesn't have to be. Either fix it so it's useful or get rid of it.

  • What I mean is: How many people claiming New Vecna is "easy to counter" have bought him and know how to play AS him?

The kind of insight that's locked behind a paywall.

  • Killers deserve a Second chance perk like DS.

They already have stuff like NOED, and

Something like "Hook Chains" when the first survivor is unhooked they instantly get rehooked if the killer passes a skill check, and gain another hook level

Oh, ha! I thought you were being serious for a second

  • I can tell you I win maybe 60 - 80% of my matches. I consider a win a 3k no matter what

This game has always been and pretty much always will be pretty survivor-sided.

    Well, which is it?

  • The "counter play" is "Open the gates and leave immediately." Endgames are for SWFs

  • @Dinadin said:

    You dont.

    Not for free, anyway

  • If you bought the DLC before it was removed from the store, it's still called "Decisive Strike".

So if you're watching a streamer and see them use DS, it will be even more confusing. New players aren't necessarily going to know it has been renamed.

the game is almost over why am I still blocked from trying to unhook?

You said it in your question: almost.

Framing it as "trying to 3%" is why they needed the measure in the first place. Because it means "leaving the match prematurely" more often than actually trying to unhook. Otherwise we wouldn't have the abandon option in half the conditions it pops up, especially since many of them can have much more than a 3% chance of resetting the game.

"Almost" as in "The killer will win soon." Not as in "There's still a chance for either side to win, gosh, what could the outcome be???"

Personally, I'm ok waiting an extra minute to go next, so I don't mind not being able to 3-4% in cases like this, but do you really not get why the OP would want to???

  • Just destroying this argument by one single sentence : Can Vecna Teleport ?

    Yes.

(and do not talk me about the upside down phase, he can't do a thing for an BIG BIG moment.

You can put the relative strengths of their teleports into your original single sentence. You're the one who made it seem like a can/can't issue, not me.

Too many words just to say my opinion is not valid just cause you say so.

If you read the words you'd realize thats not what I was saying. I was actually trying to give you advice on how to understand the killer better instead of seeing him as frustrating, but you're welcome to consider that to be patronizing if you're married to that vote down more than reading it.

Edit: Regardless of how you feel about my advice, at least consider this excerpt by Sun Tzu:

If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.

Nah, he's right. You coulda just said "git gud".

Or "Your opinion is invalid because Sun Tzu said so." which is somehow even geekier.

Game can't possibly be imbalanced, didn't you read this 2500-year-old book about a totally different and unrelated type of conflict?

  • @Shinkiro said:

Because all the incremental changes they received have stacked up, less time healing being a big one with the recent healing buffs and anti heal debuffs, all the second chances, easy braindead chase extensions, hook extension etc etc. They simply have more and more time to spend on generators because the time committed by killers earns them less pressure than ever, so naturally they can accomplish their objective faster.

The game is time management and survivors have more of it in the majority of cases.

Hey, remember when killers argued that if you give them less pressure to tunnel, they wouldn't do it so much?

But your argument is that survivors genrush MORE when you give them less pressure.

    Which is it?

  • You have to go to account.bhvr.com (Create an account, if you haven't already.) and link your XBox account to your PC one. Then you have to go to Game Library and click on DBD. From there, you'll have the option to sync progress between accounts (which is separate from "Linking" your accounts for some reason).

You may have to launch DBD on your PC after linking accounts before the Cross Progression option will show up on the site. You'll also probably have to shut it down and relaunch it for the Cross Progression to affect the actual game.

  • Golly, what parts didn't they like? /s

  • Counterpoint: Why should survivors have to overcome a learning curve (possibly a steep one) every 3 months?

If you pay for the new killer, you opt-in to the "learning a new killer" thing, but survivors have no choice. Maybe killers could face a "######### you, adapt." every once in awhile, but that didn't even make it out of the PTB, did it?

  • I would 100% play a killer I don't like for a BP incentive. I used to like the Dailies that had you use a specific killer. I miss those.

I think some of you misread the op: You wouldn't be forced at gunpoint to play these incentivized killers.

  • Lots of people don't know you can even touch the doors. It's not as if there's anything in the game telling them that…

  • They should put half of that "guaranteed" portion of the clock at the beginning. Let the timer eat into THAT, first. It's unfair that you can give him a ton of time, fast-forward the clock, and he still has (I think?) an entire minute of guaranteed time on top of that???

  • Not switching to survivor, though, huh?

  • You can rest easy knowing the mushrooms are useless
