Devs should buff all killers to be on Billy or Nurse lvl. After that, we can discuss nerfs.
If you give killers a cooldown on their powers, you´ll nerf them to the point that they won´t be able to do any kills at all.

We'll just have to see, that's really what I think the Devs are planning after this patch.

  • I really think they should just remove swf or just only allow 2 people to make it more managable. Getting swf squads as killer is really annoying especially when you're at low ranks trying to learn the game. But I do have high hopes for this chapter they are throwing out some good killer perks and I think the Spirit will be played at the same level as doc or pig.

The gist of what I'm getting is, "Killer is underpowered and she almost nekked and that offends me." I'm still gonna buy it and play it cause the game thrives on new content. Back of my mind though, I hope they put cool downs on Billy and Nurse abilities so they can do more holistic balance changes to buff all the killers or give all the survivors some type of nerf.

Cool, if you wanna support the devs go ahead.
Doesnt change the fact that she will dissapear from the game within a few weeks, just like clown did.

And no, they cant nerf billy and nurse because those are the only viable killers and if they remove them, then there is no killer you can play at high rank anymore. DO I need to explain why this would be a problem?
Survivor nerfs are not gonna happen, SC DS and hatch reworks have been delayed for ages now, I dont think they will ever arrive

There is a 2 fold problem here. Not everyone in this game plays high ranks or at high level play and high rank players don't "play" at their level, if you watch any streamer at rank 1 there are at least a quarter of the survivors that play at a green level. I play this game casually and still end up against and with popular streamers irregularly. People are dcing at billy's, nurses, and even hags in the games I play and thats a problem. If people don't even want to play against those killers it disrupts the game for both sides.

Plus killers can get to rank 1 with Wraiths and Freddy so it's not like a big accomplishment.

Not asking for a direct nerf just a small cooldown on their abilities to bring them more in line since they both have mobility tied to their kits and so much map control. If Nurse and Billy had a 10 second cd (5 second on nurse post stun) on their abilities they wouldn't feel so oppressive for low ranks. If they bring the 2 strongest in line, they can buff killers or nerf survivors all at once for balance changes.

I do agree that Self Care and DS need a nerf (DS should leave survivors in the dying state when they get dropped so they have to be picked up or saved and Self Care needs a limitation of 1-2 health states?). Idk why people don't play Clown as much, hes stronger than doc and pig I do see him more than huntress though.

Issue I have with this chapter is that none of Adams perks seem particularly useful but some are goofy and meme worthy.

Don't get caught and it won't be an issue for you. But really, by choosing to camp the killer is also choosing to let 3 survivors pop a gen each before that hooked player dies so it isn't really a bad thing. Sure your game might get ruined but chances are theirs will too. If it doesn't get ruined, then well done. What I am trying to say is: The strat has positives and negatives but so do most. However it is still a valid strategy and if that is how they want to play the game, they can.

it's hard not to get caught eventually, between exhaustion, pallet loss, and bloodlust, good prediction on mind games, eventually the killer will get to you (longest chase I've had was 6 minutes against a freddy). I really don't want anyone's game being ruined per se, I will legit let a wraith and trapper get a free hook on me, but I regret it if they facecamp when I didn't do anything toxic to deserve it (butt dancing, flashlights, ds, hell I don't even carry self care to make the game more fair). I do empathize with the killer but I think if the pip basis was more on hooking, hunting, and hitting, and less on sacrificing then they can make gens or nerf something else survivor side to make the game take longer or be more fair.

Now I'm just running into nurses with NOED like every game now, which is a tilting experience on it's own.

My main issue comes from survivor and killer dynamic, survivors crouch all game and hide then do gens and killers are incredibly thirsty for that 2k and that seems to generate an unfun experience for both sides. I like the chase, I like trying to mess with killers and save my team mates, but if none of that happens where's the actual game at?

  • @Doc_W__HOLLIDAY said:
I survived a 3 blink Nurse with it

I did too, but no one else did.

  • Part of thinks it would work better as an ultra rare item, killers can just get franklins to counter it then there's no big deal.

  • @Tsulan said:
    You answered your own question.
Killers camp because they struggle to slow down the gen rush.

no all the gens got done cause they literally facecamp 2 people for safety pips, no chasing never leaving the hook, just hit, hook, face for the entirety of the match. My issue isn't entirely with killers facecamping but also with survivors gencamping. Like this behavior is so ingrained to never even check if a team mate is savable. I have an issue with this as a casual player who just wants to enjoy a few games then go do something else, but if those few games are consistently unfun, then there's no reason for me to play except when new content comes out.

  • @diamonddabs said:
Okay so I downloaded dbd last week and played about 5-7 games and i only play as the shape because I’m a huge Halloween fan and the other killers don’t really catch my attention. Do I NEED to play as other killers or can I just continue how I am? Also my style is to find survivors and hook them and pretty much camp so I know they die and this has gotten me wins but one game I only got one kill which is a first and afterwards I got some salty guy in my messages.

    1. Play how you want to play, don't let the survivors bully you, you can only be reported for hacking and verbal harassing, not by how you play.
    2. Try some of the other killers out some are fun and you get useful perks for maxing them.
    3. You don't need to camp to win, but 'patrolling' or being active around the hook are (breaking stuff, hunting) is recommended so they don't just get free saves, you can tunnel one survivor and kill quick so you can get a 2-4k fast. Survivors don't often know what to do so use this to your advantage.
  • do you run make your choice and blood warden?

  • @Peanits said:
I wouldn't mind it. I don't think I've ever seen anyone use it because it's basically a "worst case scenario" perk, and worse yet, one that encourages you to do the one thing you wouldn't want to do in that situation: A generator. It's a perk that allows you to do generators faster and show the killer exactly where you are.

It might spice up the end game a little bit more, giving the survivor a reason to not just go for the hatch. It wouldn't fix hatch standoffs on its own, but it would allow the survivor to at least speed up that stalemate where they know they can't get the hatch and the killer absolutely refuses to leave the hatch because that would be a free escape.

Exactly, I wouldn't mind having it for worse case scenarios where I get a good nurse or really tilted survivors where there's a 3k before 2 gens are done and I think it would give survivors an alternate or bait for a hatch stand offs.

sorry I mean to say he's played as much as freddy if not less. Clown is more effective imo than freddy but each has their own strengths and weaknesses. Biggest issue I have with clown is his visual hair glitches that give away his position. It's so easy to juke him if you see where he's coming from all the time.

Killers need to be leveled in balance. The outliers make it extremely difficult to balance because several killers outright ignore mechanics critical to a survivor actually bringing time for their team, or cut so much time off compared to others, or have numerous perks built in automatically. Most of the killers don't, or can't, and so balancing is skewed.

Map size can't be adjusted due to mobility issues with Hillbilly and/or Nurse. Pallets can't be adjusted because they're the main escape mechanic, and some maps are pretty barebones these days. Windows are a problem, but they don't affect Nurse.

    That's the main issue, imo.

I think they can trim the maps down in size and add another building or more verticallity or basements. I do agree that Nurse and Billy are on different levels than the other killers. I think that all the other killers deserve some kind of mobility buff or mobility tied into their power passively. I just don't like how killers are forced to react to survivors mistakes than to be proactive where they can be and that all falls on the game design. The game is designed for killers to be at a disadvantage, to wait until the survivor touches a gen or give away their positon, to wait for a pallet throw, to wait for any action involving the survivors. Survivors don't have to wait for crap, they can start the gens right away, run a loop, throw a pallet, and hope their team doesn't fail them utterly. Most killers have to rely on survivors to fail in order to win.

  • @thesuicidefox said:
    1. Yes.
    2. LOL no.
    3. Ideal, but not physically possible. There are 7 gens, 5 totems, 5 chests, 4 survivors, and 1 killer. Only so many tiles per map (I think the average is 10? not sure). There would be very few spots where you would be able to spawn survivors. They just need better totem placement so your Ruin isn't in LOS of a gen or spawns next to a survivor.
    4. No. There are only a few spots that need fixing, and they need to adjust the cover around every pallet tile to allow for mindgames. Too many "safe" pallets when there should only be at most 3 (shack, 1 or 2 for main structures).
    5. Again no. Killers would just go around destroying every pallet at the start of a game then survivors have nothing to fight back.

Before I start, I have been playing this game for over a year when Doc came out and I am a survivor main.

I don't get it, I actually make suggestions for fixing the timer issue that killers have and they don't see great skill checks as a problem. In low ranks survivors can barely get gens done in 8 mins, in high ranks they can get them done pre 5 without any toolkits. Making gens take longer would hurt balance for low skill players, but removing great skillcheck boosts would remove a lot of power from high skill players.
Survivors should be spawned in random almost bad places in the map, if one guy gets spawned in the basement that might add to the spook factor pretty quick, hell survivors should randomly spawn in lockers so they have to waste animation frames just to get out, the maps are so big why the hell survivors are just spawning on top of gens?
Pallets, jungle gyms, loops, should not spawn right next to each other, there needs to be at least a 20m distance from these types of objects. The devs have this power in their capacity when they nerfed pallet spawn. I do notice some updates to it but it feels really random on the spawns and not tested enough.
I think killers need more control over the game, it doesn't make sense that survivors have every tool to stop a killer but a killer has no tools to stop a survivor.

  • I think the game just needs more content, with a few balance fixes. The devs are getting there they had some issues before but they are making great strides.

  • Ideally you want 1 perk for healing (self heal, pharmacy, bond) 1 perk for mobility or escape (lithe, sprint burst, balanced landing, dead hard, ds), 1 perk for allies (leader, vigil, borrowed time, empathy, kindred), 1 perk for objectives (small game, resilience, sabotage, WGLF) you can also pick lategame perks like (Adrenaline, Hope, Wake Up) if you're at higher ranks but even then most games you can't reliably get there.

Personally I don't rely on stealth perks except Iron Will and Lightweight, Urban Evasion is ok but most killers have aura reading so it's more about placement and map awareness.

I just feel weird that it exists in this way and just wonder if the devs could improve it. I feel like there should be more done to reduce toxicity in this community. I kind of wished there was an honor system that could gift survivors and killers for being good and nontoxic players.

  • @Chrona said:
That is the kind of nerf that takes a must-pick, and turns it into a never-pick. If I remember correctly, even the highest one heals at about half the speed of a common medkit. It's a very good perk, no argument. But I feel it is relatively balanced. I would say, at most, more frequent skillchecks, which would give survivors more of a chance to mess up, and end up notifying the killer.

I should emphasis that the self heal would be faster than a medkit but for one full health state for yourself and have the medkit efficiency. Yeah but I feel like they are buffing bleeding timers just to counter self heal, there are other ways of healing through bond and pharmacy. I've gotten quicker healing for myself and team mates from that green medkit than from self care. I feel like Self Care allows for more bodyblocking and toxic behavior from survivors since it's so versatile. Plus, no one grabs empathy and it has the largest aura read of any perk.

  • @GT_Legend2 said:
years after this games release and no change in behavior from the community as a whole

they can't change how players choose to play, they can only nerf/remove exploits.

  • I think the biggest problem with hex totems, is the activation. Noed is the strongest cause it has a trigger and an element of suprise. Like Ruin shouldn't activate until survivors start working a gen, Lullaby and Devour wont trigger until a survivor is hooked, thrill of the hunt ability will be active but the hex totem wont spawn until a totem has been cleansed.

  • @Milo said:

Third Seal just needs to be a hit perk and Thano should be a hex perk, but it's twice as strong and healing doesn't fix the debuff.

Sounds REALLY cool, but the devs will just ignore this because all they want is to buff survivors, not killers...

They might have to if the kindred change goes through, killers will need some kind of counter aura and no one uses Third Seal since it's the weakest hex perk.

  • I maxed nurse out for her perks and never touched her again except for daily's. She's tough to learn and unsatisfying to master imo. Best thing about learning nurse is how to counter and 'loop' her correctly.

fixing some animations and adding trapper buffer? Kindred 3 might be a bit excessive, but It might balance solo play vs swfs. was there something else they talked about in Q&A3 I missed?

Just the bloodlust changes. They're planning on reducing BL2 from +0.6m/s to +0.4m/s, and BL3 from +1.2m/s to +0.6m/s. BL1 remains untouched.

Still not really a massive change, I would say, since BL2/3 rarely if ever activate. Bloodlust doesn't really do much against looping, it only really stands to punish survivors who are actually using windows and LOS blockers to mindgame and gain distance (which in my eyes, if they can consistently mindgame me to gain distance and avoid me for 45 seconds, they're just straight up better than me and I don't deserve a free hit).

This would, of course, go to PTB before going live.

I'm honestly just happy about the pallet animations reverting, tired of seeing my character do a laggy spin before throwing a pallet and getting hit due to the extra frames for the animation to complete.

That "laggy spin" gave the killer more possibility to mindgame at a pallet. By removing that, throwing down a pallet just becomes a reaction thing and makes looping easier. The only way to still have a mindgame at a pallet will be by having a download in the background...... well, not sure whether I like that....

how is a survivor having an uncontrollable lag animation a mindgame? It's always been a reaction and timing thing but since there's animation lag it becomes unreliable. I've seen my character do uncontrollable 360 spins at the pallet when I hit space since the patch and always get hit if I slam the pallet before the killer even lunges. You can't even time out huntress throwing axes with pallet interaction anymore since survivor hitboxes got way bigger. The animations are so slow that a nurse can blink on a pallet and swing and hit before the pallet hit detects, and they are already in stun animation from their dash so it just becomes a wasted pallet throw. That's one issue killers don't really get, the devs are designing the game for it easier for us to get hit, and we're complaining about laggy animation glitches. I'm hoping they fix more of these with cosmetics, cause Feng and Kate and even the Clown are unreliable to play when their hair glitches out, it literally leaves a hair stream of where they are heading to if the killer/survivor sees it.

Fatshaming spots are bugs, so I wouldn't really count that. That's not something that's intended by the game. (Report those if you see them, take a screenshot or two, they'll get fixed.)

it's not so much fatshaming, i think killers have a harder time turning than survivors in general which is why looping is such a problem. Like I just find a fence and just run around it and the killer has to get bloodlust to catch me, idk why but killers seem to move slower around turns.

I would just like the team to see the killer if they are facecamping or really nearby, I think this will give survivors some counterplay to camping

There allready is counterplay, it's called not running to the hook and doing gens by playing into the killer you will go down one by one, the game is allready lost for you if he gets someone down close to the hook

    there's a 2-fold problem with that
1: WGLF stacks: survivors are like vultures for the blood points and don't really care about saving their team mate
2: Benevolence Emblem: The longer the survivor is on the hook the benevolence points involved with the emblem count down.

The devs put this into the game so survivors wouldn't just gen rush, they had to do other stuff besides gens in order to pip, killers can abuse this to prevent survivors from saving team mates and possibly getting a 2k from altruism. Kindred fixes this because they actually get a benefit from leaving a survivor on the hook longer, but it would make aura perks more situational.

changes to maps and keys for survivors, adding an invicibility frame for survivors that are being unhooked and haven't touched the ground, unhooking animations clarity, reversing pallet swings so it doesn't have that swing lag that was added last patch, giving dead hard a .25 second latency compensation so the perk will activate before the killers hit detection, trapper buffering, nerfing tier 2/3 bloodlust speed.

  • @popoles said:
I don't understand it. Nothing was done with looping in this patch, nor gentime. Just the FL saves are harder and the exhaustion is not recovering while running. Like TF?
You can still loop them for a long time. So stop being so childish and try to accept these changes!

It's actually an issue for them 'advertising' the game, if people see streamers and youtubers being camped regularly they will get turned off from the game. Angrypug and Jendenise get camped regularly in their streams and it's incredibly boring.

Essentially the devs are working at the least interactive part of their game which is hooking and unhooking. They will allow killers to camp, but they are giving survivors some measure of counter play with fake outs, keeping survivors in the hooked status until they reach the ground with full animations, and kindred to show if the killer is facecamping that survivor.

If they mess up ways of breaking line of sight this game will be in a broken state for the killer and no survivor will want to play. My issue with gens is toolboxes need less charges and possibly leader getting a nerf.

why are killers still complaining, they have 3 aura reading buffs, they get a speedboost if in a chase, 4 main survivor perks got nerfed, pallets are less reliable, and the devs moved hex spawns so it's harder to find ruin.

Distraction can't even reliably be done, even if you run in to take a hit for someone at the last second. That perk is so finicky because the game almost never wants to award Protection tokens where it should.

Even then... it doesn't promote good gameplay, it promotes people taking unnecessary hits. Not exactly conducive to survival.

And it's always cuz I can do calculated guesses of where survivors are most of the time and they just refuse to accept that sometimes they made bad decisions and killers capitalize on those decisions, NO the killer is HACKING ofc, I can NEVER make mistakes.
Any thoughts on this ? Anyone having the same experience ?

are you running moniter and abuse, tinkerer 2 and silent chainsaw add-ons? I honestly don't feel like this is hacking, but some bad choices the devs have made to make a strong killer also the most stealthy. Also Billy with tinkerer, bbq and chili, and nurses calling with noed just guarantees a 2-4k.

  • level up billy, nurse, and leatherface. get bbq chili, nurses calling, and tinkerer then you can throw a 4th perk of your choice noed/ruin/ or an obsession perk. get a hook, see survivors, hit a survivor get to see them when healing, if they do a gen you get to see them again.

Just keep trying. If you keep getting found right away and camped (and can't get pips or points), look at how you're playing and try to adjust. You're bound to have games where things go bad, but you won't always be the first to be caught and if you see the killer is camping, you have the choice to run off and do gens. Everyone has a play style they prefer. I would say get perks that go along with your play style nicely. The killer's supposed to be the stronger one. It's 4 vs 1.

Don't listen to this guy, killers have up to 4 wall hacks they can use, territorial perogative, bbq chili, nurses calling, and tinkerer. You are not safe and you never will be. Your team mates will be like drunk children in and Oj Simpson/Casey Anthony's household. Meanwhile your character will move like a clunky diabetic at best with the stamina of one, visual glitches will give away your position if you buy any cosmetics or new characters. All a killer has to do to pip, is get one of you guys, facecamp the hook, wait for the gens to pop, use noed to facecamp another survivor and the Devs support this playstyle becuase they gave survivors too many saving throws and too many clutch perks while making the killer have to wait ten seconds to do any sort of action. Otherwise DBD is a fun game if you know how to run in a circle and left click/spacebar occasionally.

Not gonna lie The Shining chapter sounds pretty iconic.
Honestly the top 5 licensed chapters I see as options to be the next licensed chapters within this year would be
    1. Hellraiser (A cenobite definitely as the killer)
    2. Evil Dead
    3. Scream Queens
    4. The Hills Have Eyes
    5. Poltergeist

Hellraiser too, my issue with that is that the Doc is kinda cenobite styled anyway, he tortures people and drives them mad. As far as I know no cenobite uses a weapon except for summoning hooks and that weird cd guy from hellraiser 3. Plus idk if they could use the box as a gameplay mechanic. I put Evil Dead up there but I always kind of viewed ash as a bad guy since he gets possessed alot and wouldn't want him as a survivor, I'd rather have Kelly from Ash vs the Evil Dead cause Dana Delorenzo is so hot...

I haven't tried it yet saying as I need Ace in the Hole, but I've always wanted to try the Chester Molester.
Or, a more appropriate name, the Chest Build.

    Pharmacy
    Plunderer's Instinct
    Ace in the Hole
Prove Thyself (So when other people around try to steal your chests and you get on it first, they let you search faster.)

used to use ace in the Hole but it was so unreliable. Been using some weird builds like Bond, Prove Thyself and Stake Out to get gens done quick and keep an eye on enemies and team mates.

  • doesn't huntress technically have the biggest terror radius? could she benefit from clourophobia?
