With the Hag buffs she can place traps while in a chase and the traps are harder to disarm. Trappers weakness isn't from the noise he makes but how easily it is to spot his trap locations. They can also be disarmed easily and the Trapper cannot replace anything if he wishes to maintain a chase. The recent patch was a nice quality of life change but still hasn't fixed his biggest weakness.

Look as someone who plays both survivor and killer, those traps are loud, they are really really loud. It's bs that Billy has a chainsaw silencer, but trappers trap have to be as loud as docs shock?

  • Takes like 10-30 minutes for me to get a game as killer less than 1 minute as survivor, but playing survivor is really mediocre right now it's either 4k at 5 mins or gen rush at 3 mins, no consistency at all. Plus I want to see how the trap killers play now.

  • hag does have more map control, but she still depends on bloodlust for chases.

  • I camp if they are toxic, if they have a flashlight, if they hide in a locker, if all the gens are done and I just want 1 dude dead. Trust me there are worse things than camping, I hit a dude and let his ass bleed out while his team mates tried to save him cause his team mates all had flashlights and he had ds. I've encountered so many toxic survivors that I actually regret not camping most of them.

What's there to fix? Considering most run Carburetor's every game anyway reducing the noise by 30%, it shouldn't come as a surprise that people use M&A to further that surprise factor. Also the TR is at worst 24 meters with M&A, nowhere near undetectable lol.

I've had 2 games where his chainsaw barely made any kind of noise (the chain choke at the end of the animation was all I heard) and his terror radius wasn't even active, there's clearly a glitch here, billy shouldn't make no noise and have no terror radius. I wouldn't make a post if there wasn't a glitch, it even glitches with Stake out where it wont even activate/charge if he's in visual range and chainsawing with M&A.

Smaller than ew1 Myers. What drugs are you smoking.
With monitor and abuse his terror radius is the same as Hag

Idk man, with his chainsaw it doesn't even seem like he has a terror radius. I've seen this on more than one occasion and it really needs to be fixed. I've just lucked out with the invisible chainsaw glitch cause they seem to not hit at a certain angle when they are on top of a survivor.

i don’t care how many perks of ours they nerf, self care is way too valuable when you’re a solo survivor and have an unreliable team....

EDIT: It was said that the nerf is going to be that you will lose all progress if you stop healing, I am completely okay with that nerf. I just thought I couldn’t self heal for a maximum about of times. Some people also made some suggestions about using other perks in the place of Self Care like Bond... I think I’ll be trying it.

I honestly think they should remove self care from the game and I'm a survivor main.

i'm not good at survivor. but i don't **** ppl over either.... the problem is i'm a level 20 and i play with less than cautious ppl.... i sneak down to the basement for the save and theres a wild Meg upstairs heading straight forr the save and dragging the killer behind her.... almost always....

Best build imo is Bond and Premonition, gives you stupid radar if people are coming right at you with the killer tailing them and vice versa if you want to betray that one guy lurking around the hatch not doing generators. Honestly if 2 people get hooked or go in the basement it's typically game over or hatch standoff cause the killer has a guaranteed pip and will not leave for any reason.

Thats not how you rank up.
This is how you bully low rank killers without investing the time to derank

In other games it might be a strategy to rank up by playing with low ranks in order to maniupulate average elo, but in DBD ranking up is so easy that its not needed

It's kind of stupid actually, I've seen survivors pip without touching a generator and I've deranked doing 4 generators and nothing else. This game isn't based around skill or any sense of objectives, it's about hook farming now.

I'm a gen jockey so I know that part isn't necessarily true.

I do 3-4 gens, get the gate, break a Hex or two, and leave. When the Killer comes near I hide until they leave.

Iridescent Lightbringer, Iridescent Unbroken, Bronze/No Benevolent, Bronze Evader.

I've made over 20k in a match and didn't pip through 3 gens, 30 seconds of chase, 1 unhook, healed 2 team mates, opened 2 chests, got the exit gates, and did 2 totems and escaped. And I've pipped barely doing 7.5k just unhooking 3 survivors and healing and a 20 second chase, there's something wrong with this system. I really wish I was exaggerating, but I have seen this crap with my own eyes I really need to take screenshots though.

  • How I look at it.

  • It would just be easier to put permanent exhaustion, blindness on the swfs.

  • It's better for low ranks or beginners, the best thing is if you have to leave a gen when the killer chases you and it sometimes prevents that wack skill check fail that you can't do.

  • As someone who plays both as and against huntress, I feel like her hitboxes do need some work. I have hatchets that seem to hit invisible walls, and I get hit by hatchets that seem like they curve around objects to hit me. Some of this is lag obviously. I have seen some hits that visibly don't connect by the doctor (i think they buffed his attack range/lunge but haven't implemented animations to fix it) Object collision is bullcrap imo, since this patch survivor hitboxes completely overshadow object collision so if the survivor is slightly away from a tree or wall and the killer swings at the object it will connect to the survivor, I think some of this is how wonkey killer auto aim is.

  • I feel you man, just play when they patch up some of the killers, leave some feedback, and try playing other games. DBD is an inbetween game imo, something you can play between big realeases. I do believe the devs are progressing in the right direction for balancing this game, but it's going to take some time.

  • So when the killer hits her, it's bad blood, and he has to shake it off, and she's in trouble, trouble. Then she runs and they will never never get back together and she thinks all he's ever gonna be is mean.

  • @Tsulan said:

Putting survivors into first person would solve most of the problems.

I just think it would help for clarity for killers, I'm kinda tired of having my attacks miss or hit due to random circumstances or animations, and I hate just seeing survivors just 360 duck over the corner of my vision. It's bad enough that I get a lot of claudettes that just look like a natural ghili suit. Even playing Billy is weird because I get chainsaw hits that really shouldn't have connected but because of the wonkey POV my character model was right on top of the survivor. Plus is dumb that they have to put perks in to help killers have an expanded POV in the first place.

  • @Orion said:
You know, the last time Killers really did quit the game, Survivor queue times spiked. Survivors have short memories, apparently...

Do you want to know the difference between Killer whining and Survivor whining? The majority of Killers "whine" about severe balance issues that result in unfun games and put all the power in what should be the weaker side in this asymmetrical game (Survivors). The majority of Survivors whine about things that either make them less powerful (as it should be) or things that can made them lose for once.

I think one of the main issues never addressed is putting killers in 3rd person, I think this would help so much.

  • I usually tell the killer they did a good job if they played well or give them advice if they played badly. I don't run toxic perks, I don't play toxic but i do troll sometimes (mostly tbagging at pallets during break animations but I don't loop the killer forever I try to rush to different parts of the map and run at him and do 360's or something more entertaining). For me camping < survivor toxicity cause killers sometimes need at least 1 kill so they don't derank or to get some points, survivors body block, flashlight stun, 4 man ds strikes, and stuff like that make me pissed off to play killer. I do get salty about facecamping directly as letherface players though that does seem like a bm, but I get more salty if my team mates are just crouching near him and not doing gens or anything.

  • Killers need a rare offering that removes all items survivors bring to match.

People get used to the mechanics of the game and the fear factor goes away. It’s human nature and that goes for MOST survival horror games. After the 50th time dying on Alien Isolation the alien because more of an annoyance. When you get hooked and farmed by Jake and the Doctor tunnels you it isn’t scary anymore. Why would it be? It’s an annoyance. The ONLY scary parts of the game are Myers and sometimes the Hag’s traps, other than that...if you are used to the game, why would you be scared? Every survival horror game fades in being scary after playing for hours on end.

I'm not talking about spooks or atmosphere. I'm talking about the actual meat and bones of this game. Survivors take more overall damage than the car from the bonus stage in street fighter 2 and killers can be shut down by a flashlight and a pallet loop. How could survivors be 'scared' if they can be hit multiple times with no consequence other than being camped or point farmed by their team mates. There comes a breaking point when you realize that your team is the one actually killing you, not so much the killer. For survivors there is no level of tension that matches up as playing killer and that is a core problem with this game. Playing as a survivor you don't really feel harassed or stalked, but as killer you are DEFINITELY being harassed and stalked. Not only that but the end game lobbies are typically killer saying gg and survivors bming the killer.

Not for me. I've tried both, and playing as survivor is more intense, and more fun, too.

Certain killers create more tension and scares than others. Michael Myers for example is always guaranteed the tension and scares for me. Always looking over my shoulder in a Michael match. Trapper has me constantly paranoid about where I'm walking, especially in maps with lots of tall grass.

look trolling is fun and all, but this is a serious issue with the game. Survivor is one part afk gen repair, one part running in a circle, one part left clicking on team mates. Killer requires way more mechanical, strategic, and focus gameplay while frankly being under siege by a group that have more tools at their disposal than you. Not only that you spend more time fighting with the map more than the survivors.

Trolling is not fun to me. I get that killers have more to contend with, but a competent killer with the right perks can own a map. I've seen them do it many times, and I play SWF. We've had our ass handed to us, or really had to fight to have at least one survive against a good killer.

This isn't a good vs. bad argument it's about how DBD actually fails to deliver on a terrifying experience for the survivor and a threatening experience for the killer. Killers shouldn't have to fight the mechanics of the game, and the maps the devs create, and survivors need more to do than gens and unhook team mates.

    LOL

I just think that would be hilarious if a killer started the match and everyone was in the dying state.

  • Stake Out is probably one of the strongest perks I've ever seen on this game and no one runs it, guaranteed great checks and an indicator if the killer is within eyesight.

  • Both, I think healing skill checks shouldn't wake you from the dream state.

  • when you and the killer agree that your bad team mates were bad.

  • I'm grading these based on how easy it is to get their achievements

    1. Nea: she has 2 mobility perks and an efficiently buff
    2. Meg: she as well has 2 mobility perks, a clutch heal, and stealth attached to kit.
    3. Min: mobility with lithe, technician is under rated but it does help, alert helps with sneaky killers in chases.
    4. Claudette: self heal has always been meta, empathy has the longest range of any aura, botany boosts all healing
    5. Quentin, Pharmacy is a really under rated perk and it is more effective than self heal imo, wake up is clutch especially in matches that end with dying light, noed, thanophobia, vigil is good but as a self kit doesn't work with Quentin.
    6. Tapp: Stake Out is surprisingly good and pretty much gets max value in your skillchecks and helps you detect the killer, Detectives Hunch is meh pretty much a free map, Tenacity is really clutch if your team mates are altruistic and distract the killer.
    7. Dwight: Bond is good but the downside is that you see how bad your team mates are, prove thyself is meh, leader is solid for coop actions.
    8. Ace: Open handed doesn't do anything with Ace's kit, Up the Ante can be good? Ace in the Hole doesn't proc enough to be worth it.
    9. Jake: Saotage is ok but it has a limited use imo due to hooks being everywhere, Calm spirit is garbage and is barely noticeable, Iron Will is the only useful perk jake has
    10. Laurie Strode: Sole Survivor is ok and actually useful in the bbq meta, Object of Obsession is a good perk as well since you can always see where the killer is unless it's freddy :/, Decisive Strike is just a free save from a hook but it triggers killers so much that you're more likely to get camped unless you used it on your last hook chance.
    11. Kate: Dance with me is meh, Boil over is meh, Windows of Opportunity fills your screen with info your really should know.
    12. David: We're Gonna live forever is the only reliable bloodpoint bonus for survivors but it causes this toxic farming behavior that I despise in team mates, Dead Hard sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, No Mither is probably the worst perk in the game.
    13. Bill: Left Behind has a dumb mechanic and is only useful in the most worst way imaginable, Borrowed Time is good against killer camping sorta? Unbreakable is only good if you have a team that distracts the killer long enough for you to self revive.

Oichido has been putting out less content than he usually does and he's more frustrated with the game.

Of course he's going to be frustrated, all of his meta perks are getting nerfed and pallet vacuums have been removed. He's slowly losing his power over Killers. Soon he won't be able to troll anymore and everyone will see his real skill level.

I like watching his funny compilations on dbd, I honestly think most of it is kill/survive with friends though for humor.

  • Tyde been playing other games for a while, Marth is getting married in October, Diatech been playing SAS, they have other ######### going on. Hexy and Ohm left a long time ago and just come back for patches. What's more concerning is if Pug/Scott/Jen find another game to stream. Oichido has been putting out less content than he usually does and he's more frustrated with the game. If Pug finds a shooter he likes as much as H1Z1 he probably will play DBD less, Jen is clearly frustrated in her streams and Scott looks bored and plays with less drive than he used to. Zubat is still a sweaty killer though, but I find his streams boring. Swind is great, he points out really bad bugs the devs need to fix.

Bad survivors by far. Never enough to DC because I think that is the worst thing in this damn game (seriously, can people just stop this?) but I'll be cursing at my screen from bad survivors.

I'll never be mad at a legit good killer. It takes some skill and I'll give them props on good plays even if I get wrecked.

I agree but it depends on the playstyle... If a nurse slugbutts all of the survivors in a few minutes it really makes me not want to play for a while, if a billy keeps chaining chainsaw hits (or running moniter and abuse ninja billy build) and hooking or cross maps when he gets bbq and chili it's tilting, machine gun hatchets on an open map :/, if a doc runs unnerving/distressing and my team doesn't get enough gens done it becomes a hatch standoff, t1 stealth mike with devour hope gives me fond memes, but what's even more annoying is that none of the damn gens are done, the hex ruin/devour hope is still up, and I got team mates just crouching around during a chase waiting for my ass to get hooked. Like I just want to give up running and just point at those buggers hiding behind a box when the killer is whacking me.

How about we meet halfway and balance the game at rank 5-8?

thats not a bad idea. but i was thinking around 9 - 12.... thats where the gen-rush becomes real as hell....

the game though really needs map fixes more than anything and buff/qol for the lower tier killers. If you listen to killer streams they have issues with the maps more that the players/game mechanics. I myself am learning to hate the random rng of the maps some have like half the pallets they need and others have twice the amount, some maps have really lame dead zones with nothing in them.

  • @StalwartXX said:
I'd lean more on bad survivors tilting me more, but not just new at the game or whatever. They have to be really really bordering on intentionally bad

sometimes I wonder if it is survivor toxicity towards other survivors (point farming, bming, body blocking), but I don't fully get that, it seems like hamstringing your team mates just forces your own inevitable demise, but that seems like at least 50% of the survivor player base.

  • How about we meet halfway and balance the game at rank 5-8?

  • @Tombstone218 said:
Left Behind, Object of Obsession, Sole Survivor and I think either Self Care or Urban Evasion. It relies heavily on a bad team dying early on before 2 gens are done, but if fulfilled it means you can see the killer, the killer can't see you and you can do enough gens quick to spawn the hatch.

I've always wanted to try that since I get teams that die pretty quick, it is incredibly clutch though and it depends on your team to die to work.

  • Been watching Marth88 and Paulie Esther enjoy it, Diatech and other streamers have been playing SaS but been annoyed with the infinite dodge mechanic. I don't think I'd play SAS it graphically looks like an old Dynasty Warriors game, but I like some of the concepts in there. BHVR actually signed off on Identity V and their killers are arguably better than any killer from launch from DBD, plus I enjoy the Coraline style of the game, it also gives an actual tutorial for playing the game and a mini story mode. Plus I like the perk design, it changes some of the perks into a branching web system.

My main issue with DBD is that I've done this like 3 times already (I started playing around Spark of Madness, I really liked the Huntress chapter but I noticed that survivors got way more toxic with DS and Dead Hard, came back when Saw came out but barely played it for a few weeks cause killers camping was really really meta), I get excited for new content and chapters, play the crap out of it even though I get annoyed by the new map typically being succ, glitches and changes that make some killers unplayable (nurse, huntress, freddy, wraith) and survivors wonkey (visual glitches, perk glitches, mechanical changes that force different play styles), sometimes I get annoyed with a new killer/survivor perk that makes the game feel more meh, I play usually through double point weekend then the rank reset happens and I have no drive to keep playing until the next dlc, because the game is still pretty much the same as it was a year ago, but slightly worse in community aspects both for killer and survivor. Not sure if this happens to anyone else?

  • @Master said:

Are you even playing the game? Equip the new kate perk and you will see that there are pallets everywhere

played that perk so much, the only good thing about it is the item glitch that shows you where dropped items are near pallets and windows are.

  • @Master said:

    looping not to long ago.

I asked for advice what to do against loopers after I have been looped for 5 gens and the advice was "play nurse" or "chase another one"
IF this is what the game comes down, yeah camping will become more and more common, the more survivors get better at looping.

Either that or nurse, but Im not sure whether that is so much fun either

2 things can fix looping, faster bloodlust on turning actions, bloodlust triggering after stomping a pallet.
2 things can fix camping too, reduced hook progress when the killer is near the hook, killers get bloodlust after hooking a survivor.

  • I was more mad about Queen saying that they support camping as a killer mechanic, they need to fix that because camping is unfun for both killers and survivors. Survivors can't save their team mates and get bloodpoints and altruism and they can't get healing points, and killers just sit there by the hook not chasing and watching the gen counter go down. It can literally shut the game down and stop any action besides endgame shenanigans because survivors and killers need to pip somehow.

I'm not lying, I've been matched up with camping Leatherfaces my past 5 games and it's non interactive to say the least.I just sit there do gens, open gates, break totems and try to bait a chase by the exit and leave.

  • The Devs have said that camping is a mechanic in this game, it's not a reportable offense, and they don't consider it toxic. Best thing to do is not get caught and just gen rush to deny the killer a 2k, been having to do that and even stopped getting WGLF, cause there's no point, no point even in self care, just stick your ass on a gen and get out and have the least amount of interaction with killers as possible.

My suggestion, all effects it has now, but COMPLETE noise reduction, built in tenacity, (does not stack with the perk tenacity) 20% faster recovery, recover from status effects 20% faster, immunity to aura perks.

Now think how this could potentially replace the self care meta.

tacking on 3 perks to make one perk decent isnt a good idea, plus thematically it doesn't make sense. What injured David, why can't he heal, why can't he bleed? Exposing him makes more sense, David is the kind of guy that would give someone a free shot and get back up again for more.

  • @Jack11803 said:

You nerfed no mither slow clap it’s used for injured synergies. That’s the one use it has, DONT take it away. Just give it more and stronger bonuses.

Putting new tires on a broken car wont get it to drive.
Injury state and all the effects that go into reveal to the killer and survivors that you're injured, which causes you to be at a detriment at the start of the match. Not to mention thanophobia triggers from it. The perk is so bad because it doesn't even remedy itself. Reworking it this way can make it more of high risk/reward chaser perk since it will recover exhaustion faster.

However I do think injury perks do need a buff or another perk to give you an additional hit on wounded health states.

  • I run Bond, but watching other survivors can be a cringe fest.

  • @thomasnut said:

Again, wrong. But i did get a kick out of your reply. "there are only 8 pallets per map, except on this map, and this map, and this map, and." Lol. If you think there are only 8 pallets on any giving map then the rng must really like you. There are far more that 8 pallets on just about every map i play.. They are far closer than 30 meters apart and in fact the reverse is true. I get far more matches with too many pallets in close proximity than i ever do with very few. Some are around every corner. I know how to play mind games and counter them easy enough. I can easily make plenty of video's to show how many pallets are on maps and post em here when after i stream. I can easily show you pallets that get placed about every 10 feet apart. It's not all that difficult since it happens so often.

I played a couple killer matches to see, it may seem frustrating for pallets, but they are a consumed resource by the survivors. I played Wraith level 10 on Azarovs for a daily and got a 4k and had to bust about 10 pallets against 2 toxic megs and a kate with a flashlight. The trick is to go after dumb survivors first and camp them, pick apart their weakest link. When you're chasing, check and see if the survivors have Lithe/Sprint Burst/ Dead Hard or Balanced Landing to see when they are going to movement burst in a chase. Wait out their movement, see if they flip a pallet and kick a gen redirect focus on another survivor. Focus on keeping the 3 gens in the same area alive so they have to work on them or come nearby. Over time, they will burn up their pallet resources and will leave themselves vulnerable in chases. It was annoying those megs were 360in me in the face and dead harding me looping a couple pallet location and I knew she had ds from her obsession but I got her watched her bleed out banging on the cowbell. It's also about the mind game of dealing with survivors, you don't need to tunnel 1 good player, they will give you hell. Focus on the dumb ones first (missing skill checks, stick out with flashy cosmetics, doing troll stuff). Survivors are also vultures man, they see someone on a hook they will farm that person for bloodpoints and not care if you tunnel them, but they will waste that time not working on objectives.

You can lead the Killer to the other Survivor if you want.

    That’s a ######### solution.

True, but it's effective. If the Survivors aren't willing to work together to repair one of the three remaining generators, that's all you can do.

was actually trying to do that, was trying to do something cause standoffs are boring and I wanted to game to resolve, but I hate watching team mates just sit in a corner for the hatch. Was actually healing my team mate to trigger a sound to bring him over too. If the survivor was near a pallet I would've slammed it and kept vaulting but he was in a dead corner had other games where survivors keep going locker to locker. Granted, I did get hooked 2 times, but I did 3 of the gens and distracted the killer the early part of the game and was going to pip anyway, plus we didn't plan out gen placement so the remaining gens were all right next to each other against a huntress with overcharge. Weird thing is I've been getting nice killers that toss me in hatch which has felt nice.

I've actually been denied this achievement like 4 times, the worst one was where I kobe'd off a hook against freddy (2 of my other team mates were hooked) saved them, they ran to the exit then my other team mate was hooked I was gonna go in for the save, he camped, I was running back to the exit gate, and I got stuck by a blood warden :( Other time was by a pig we got the gens done, opened the exit gates, saved a team mate, got exposed and downed, facetrapped and hooked, team mates fled, kobe'd and couldn't get the trap off my face before getting hooked again, and the pig had NOED. I don't Kobe unless my team mates give me no choice, either they are leaving or they get hooked.
